[00:04:20]  The speakers weren't as good, I thought, as the night before, but the things that happened were remarkable and very uplifting.
[00:04:29]  And, you know, Trump is getting heat because I can't believe he would use the White House and he would have a swearing-in ceremony of immigrants there during the convention.

[00:04:43]  You know why he does that?
[00:04:45]  Because you won't cover half the crap he does.
[00:04:49]  And then when you do cover it, you cover it all in a negative.
[00:04:53]  So he's going right directly to the people.
[00:04:56]  He's cutting you out.
[00:04:58]  This is the one time he can have full coverage in the country and you can see it.

[00:08:26]  There was a shooting in Wisconsin, and it is getting out of control.
[00:08:34]  One of the rioters was shot in the head.
[00:08:41]  Elijah Schaefer was there.
[00:08:45]  He was recording.
[00:08:47]  He was broadcasting live last night.
[00:08:51]  can you please play the video you see a guy who has been chased with a long rifle Oh my gosh.
[00:09:05]  I mean, it's happening in the middle of the street, and Elijah is on the sidewalk.
[00:09:15]  There's a few different reporters there.
[00:09:16]  I'm not sure if that one, that video is from Elijah, but I know he was right there.
[00:09:20]  He interviewed the supposed alleged shooter before the shooting happened.
[00:09:25]  You go, I mean, you have to follow at Elijah Schaefer.
[00:09:28]  He has all the videos posted from last night.
[00:09:30]  I mean, the guy's, you guys risking his life to get this out along with a select few reporters.
[00:09:36]  There's about four of them.

[00:09:37]  That are going and risking their lives to tell these stories that the media will not talk about.
[00:09:42]  And is anybody paying attention?

[00:09:48]  This is critical that you know what's going on in our streets.

[00:09:54]  Now, if you're seeing this, you're seeing another, this is Elijah and his camera.
[00:09:59]  This is a guy who was trying to burn down and loot some store.
[00:10:07]  And somebody who was trying to protect the store came out and just started shooting and shot that guy in the head.
[00:10:15]  And all of a sudden, it got really real for everybody.

[00:10:21]  Now, if the media is covering this, I can guarantee you the media is saying this is a white supremacist.
[00:10:30]  Now, why is it a white supremacist?

[00:10:37]  I talked to somebody who I don't really know.
[00:10:40]  I've talked to him maybe a couple of times on the phone, seemed like a normal businessman.
[00:10:45]  I'm not going to tell you where he's from or give you any identification.
[00:10:49]  He's a normal businessman, and in his area, things are getting bad.
[00:10:55]  And I said, hey, how are things?
[00:10:57]  And he said, well, you know, I live in a place where there's a lot of militias.
[00:11:02]  And I said, God help us, I know.
[00:11:05]  And he said, you know, Glenn, never thought I would be involved with any of those people.
[00:11:10]  He said, but I need a team.

[00:11:15]  I'm a dad.
[00:11:16]  I need a team.
[00:11:17]  I need someone that will stand up for me.
[00:11:22]  This is why they won't ask Donald Trump to send in the troops.
[00:11:29]  Because people who are in at risk, people who are having these monsters go down their street at night and scare the hell out of their children.

[00:13:58]  It's not about getting a bunch of ballots going through the post office and then they don't arrive in time or they haven't been sorted.

[00:14:29]  On an average year, on an average year, we reject about 10 to 20% of those because they're not filled out right.

[00:14:42]  So we throw them out.

[00:25:06]  And I'd get to them and it would be a chaotic scene.

[00:25:14]  There's nothing we can do.
[00:25:15]  There's no hope.
[00:25:16]  And I'd wake up and I'd carry that with me all day long.
[00:25:20]  And I know where that story came from because that's not the way God deals.

[00:26:07]  This is a restaurant where all these BLM supporters come in and they're telling everybody in the restaurant, you have to raise your fist in the black power fist.
[00:26:19]  They're all basically, they're all white punks.
[00:26:24]  And one person in the restaurant won't do it.
[00:26:26]  Everybody else is doing it.
[00:26:28]  And they are just berating her, berating her.
[00:26:33]  She won't do it.
[00:26:35]  Now, we find out later, she's a supporter.
[00:26:37]  She's been marching with BLM.
[00:26:39]  But she said this just felt wrong.
[00:26:42]  Of course it felt wrong.
[00:26:45]  This is the bullying tactic of the black shirts or the brown shirts.

[00:26:52]  This is the Mao revolutionary squad, the revolutionary army of youth that he sent out to change everything in the cultural revolution.

[00:27:05]  They're using the same playbook.

[00:28:41]  Someday, that videotape will be in the hands of her ancestors and they will say, this was my great-grandmother.

[00:28:59]  You have to make that decision now.

[00:50:40]  No, I mean, I think it's just sort of a PR stunt right now because they had some employees come out and talk about, you know, how Planned Parenthood is racist.
[00:51:00]  And they talked about these employees talked about Margaret Sanger and her jaded history.
[00:51:07]  And so now I think they're sort of trying to back away from Planned Parenthood New York came out and said, you know, we're changing the name of our building because of it and all this.
[00:51:17]  But I don't think it's anything, I don't think there's anything genuine.
[00:51:21]  Do you really believe that the abortion clinics of Planned Parenthood are placed in the black areas of towns primarily because they still want to eliminate the black race?
[00:51:42]  I think it's twofold.
[00:51:44]  I think that there is a racial component there, but I think it's also a business strategy.
[00:51:50]  I mean, but when you look at the allegations that are being made by these employees that have left Planned Parenthood, you know, the allegations of racism, I mean, there is still definitely this foundational racism that still flows throughout the corporate culture of Planned Parenthood.
[00:52:13]  You said last night that this is the most anti-abortion president we've ever had.
[00:52:22]  And I think that might be true, but back that up.
[00:52:31]  I mean, if you look at the policies that he's passed, if you look at the number of policies that he's passed, and if you look at the two Supreme Court justices that he has appointed and their votes on issues that have come before them, pro-life issues that have come before them, and the way that they have voted, I mean, it's pretty undeniable.

[00:53:04]  And I mean, do we still have work to do?
[00:53:07]  Absolutely.
[00:53:09]  But even just with the convention, I mean, there's never been a former abortion worker step on that stage.

[00:53:26]  And when you compare that to the fact that for the first time in years, no one from Planned Parenthood, no one from the abortion lobby stepped on the stage at the DNC this year, that's pretty telling, I think.

[01:08:35]  And there are certain areas and certain jobs that maybe would require them.
[01:08:38]  But using a camera and just filming what are constitutional rights, should that put you in the path of bullets?

[01:08:51]  What happened last night?
[01:08:54]  Okay.
[01:08:55]  I need to give a precursor, which is something that at least we do at Blaze, but they don't do everywhere else.
[01:09:02]  And just let you know that all this is alleged, that people are innocent until proven guilty.
[01:09:06]  And so all of these details should be scrutinized, and we're still putting some of the story together, and we don't know everything.
[01:09:15]  But I will tell you this, that I was following some black block, what appeared to be Antifa-inspired individuals, as well as Black Lives Matter rioters.
[01:09:27]  This is during a state of emergency, violating a curfew, and in an unlawful and illegal assembly declared by the sheriffs and local law enforcement.
[01:09:39]  We were pushed back outside of the uptown Kenosha, Wisconsin area.
[01:09:45]  By who?
[01:09:45]  You were pushed back by who?
[01:09:47]  We were pushed back by the law enforcement, the mayor was given emergency powers to handle and to disperse rioters.
[01:09:56]  Now, Washington Post, I will say, called the victims in this shooting protesters, and I'll tell you why they're wrong.
[01:10:06]  This group I was following was armed with metal banks, with hammers, and in some cases, bricks, or in finding large stones.
[01:10:17]  We came upon a car lot, sort of like a car shop, and immediately, like any peaceful protester would do, fighting for equality and against police brutality, they decided to completely destroy every single vehicle that they could lay their eyes on.
[01:10:37]  And not just through minor kicks and bumps, I mean, throwing boulders through the front window until glass shattered, one by one, taking hammers and knocking out windows and lights, and even to the point brand new looking Infiniti SUV, something that a family probably used, somebody loves.
[01:10:58]  You know, cars are a part of our lives, lighting it on fire.
[01:11:02]  I mean, just straight up being arsoned, They were taking apart every car piece by piece.
[01:11:11]  And the worst part is, according to one of the rioters who was with the group, he's going, That's my lot.
[01:11:17]  That's my place.
[01:11:19]  So the tables have turned.
[01:11:21]  The rioters can't even tell who's their own, destroying their own city right before this happened.
[01:11:27]  This was chaos.
[01:11:29]  This was anarchy.
[01:11:30]  This wasn't just rioting.
[01:11:31]  This was felony, criminal targeting of private property.
[01:11:36]  Okay, so then you do an interview with somebody and they're being labeled today as white supremacists.
[01:11:47]  Yeah, you know, unfortunately for us that seek the truth, everybody who does something that is advantageous to the radical and far-left agenda will be labeled a white supremacist.
[01:12:00]  Even if you're black, you'll be labeled that.
[01:12:03]  If you're a Jew, you'll be labeled that, even if it doesn't make sense.
[01:12:06]  But these groups of individuals, I did something that's lost, and you know this.
[01:12:12]  We actually interviewed people instead of speculating to find out who they were and what they're there for.
[01:12:18]  There were a couple groups, and I don't know if they're connected.
[01:12:21]  There were people wearing Hawaiian shirts, maybe inspired by certain movements, like Boogaloo movements.
[01:12:28]  I don't know if they're directly affiliated.
[01:12:30]  I don't think they were.
[01:12:31]  There were also libertarian militia style, multi-ethnic, by the way, multi-racial.
[01:12:40]  And then there were some other individuals in similar fatigues that were defending businesses using CS gas.
[01:12:46]  And I asked them, you know, what are you doing?
[01:12:48]  And this is what I want to point out.
[01:12:50]  I don't know if all the groups were connected organizationally.
[01:12:54]  But everybody I talked to who clearly was in military fatigues of some sort had two common factors.
[01:13:02]  Number one, they said that they supported the riots and the protests.
[01:13:08]  In fact, they believed the insurrection against the government in some ways as part of the protected right of the people.
[01:13:13]  But they also, number two, continually said that they didn't believe that we had the right to attack each other's private property.
[01:13:21]  And I watched as this man, who we are going to find out is the alleged shooter, innocent until proven guilty, and we don't even know if he's in the wrong once investigations happen.
[01:13:33]  We're not sure yet what the full situation is.
[01:13:36]  He is an EMT, from his own words, and he was offering medical help to injured Black Lives Matter protesters.
[01:13:43]  So I don't know about you, but that's a pretty bad white supremacist.
[01:13:47]  It's not only he verbally supports the Black Lives Matter movement, but also offers medical help for people who are hurt.
[01:13:54]  Okay, so, but he was carrying a long rifle, was he not?
[01:13:59]  Yeah, and he told me that he himself was only carrying lethal rounds, so that is confirmed.
[01:14:05]  And he was capable and willing to use lethal force if he had to to defend the property of his city.
[01:14:12]  Okay, I want to play a little bit of that interview in just a second.

[01:16:50]  Yeah, so approximately an hour before the shooting, there was a business that was previously targeted by rioters In the first two nights, that was completely boarded up, that was surrounded by what appeared to be militia-like, or you know, nothing criminal.
[01:17:13]  There's nothing wrong with Americans holding guns.
[01:17:15]  No, especially if you don't think the police are coming.
[01:17:18]  If you're protecting property, God bless you.
[01:17:22]  Yeah, and if you want to defund the police, well, someone's going to have to step in and to protect their own property.
[01:17:28]  Yes.
[01:17:28]  So, you know, I approached them because something in me actually enjoys seeing people step up to have pride in what they own.
[01:17:38]  And so I asked these people protecting this place, you know, do you guys own this property?
[01:17:44]  And the individuals told me, you know, this belonged to a friend.
[01:17:48]  I can't confirm that, but they said that.

=== Defending Property Without Lethal Force (03:55) ===

[01:17:52]  And so then I noticed that they had used tear gas or CS gas on the rioters who were approaching and successfully got them away from the building.
[01:18:02]  And so I thought that was very interesting thing.
[01:18:04]  I was like, wow, they actually properly defended a piece of private property without using lethal force, but also successfully were able to do in what appeared to be a better job than local law enforcement, who seemed to have their hands tied protecting the government property.
[01:18:21]  So I asked this young man, you know, who was down there, just do you, do you, are these guns basically loaded or do you have lethal rounds?
[01:18:30]  And are you prepared to use lethal force to protect property?
[01:18:33]  Okay, let me play this.
[01:18:34]  Let me know that.
[01:18:35]  Let me play the interview.
[01:18:36]  Here it is.
[01:18:37]  We're protecting from the citizens, and I just got pepper sprayed by a person in the crowd.
[01:18:43]  So you had non-lethals, but you didn't respond.
[01:18:46]  We don't have non-lethals.
[01:18:48]  So you guys are full and ready to defend the property.
[01:18:50]  Just give you a few.
[01:18:51]  Yes, we are.
[01:18:52]  Now I can ask, can you guys step back?
[01:18:53]  Medical, AMF, right here.
[01:18:55]  I'm an EMP data-matic.
[01:18:59]  So it shows that they were there to protect that particular building, but also it shows that they were providing medical and it didn't matter who was hurt.
[01:19:11]  then how about an hour later i'm going to play the video and describe the scene what's happening here this is uh a guy laying down in the street i I think that's the guy you interviewed, and he had a long rifle and he was shooting at people.
[01:19:30]  Tell me what happened.
[01:19:33]  Right.
[01:19:33]  So while we were at the car lot, I do not know what started the initial altercation, and the reports are still not clear.
[01:19:43]  And it's okay as a reporter to just say, we need more video evidence.
[01:19:48]  But at a certain point, there was an altercation between this man and another man at the car lot.
[01:19:53]  He did open fire, multiple shots, several.
[01:19:57]  So at least more than three or four in a very quick burst, which sent a lot of us running because they appeared to go through the car.
[01:20:07]  I was standing right there.
[01:20:08]  And when you see someone raise their rifle and start shooting, usually that's a good time to not be there anymore.
[01:20:15]  But the moment within seconds, somebody screamed, I shot someone.
[01:20:22]  Oh my gosh.
[01:20:23]  People are going, it was just chaos for a second.
[01:20:26]  I'm going, oh man, someone got shot.
[01:20:29]  And I went ahead and ran over as fast as possible right back to the situation.
[01:20:36]  And a man had been what appeared to have been shot in the head.
[01:20:41]  I'm not going to get into everything else, but I know that the guy who allegedly shot him did take off running.
[01:20:49]  And good for him, because I'm pretty sure they probably would have tried to kill him.
[01:20:54]  I've seen this happen before, like in Dallas.
[01:20:58]  Whether it was justified or not, I can't speculate.
[01:21:01]  However, when he was running, there was an altercation to try to disarm him, it appears.
[01:21:08]  And there was a disagreement over the rifle.
[01:21:11]  And as the guy who jumped on him to try to disarm him, got his arm badly, badly shot.
[01:21:19]  Okay.

[01:28:45]  She talked about the poison of these labor unions, and it is much worse.

[01:29:11]  My kids love me, and she loves me, and I meet with them.
[01:29:14]  Tell me what's wrong with that.
[01:29:18]  Well, what's wrong with that is the teacher may be great.
[01:29:21]  Look, I was a great teacher and loved the students and supported the parents.
[01:29:25]  But that teacher is teaching inside of a very corrupt system.
[01:29:31]  And great teachers don't have a voice in that system.
[01:29:34]  I know that because I served within the union as a union leader.
[01:29:37]  And even as a leader, I mentioned in my speech, I was bullied, brutalized.
[01:29:42]  You know, we were booed off the stage.
[01:29:44]  So the unions who are radical Marxists who are part of this authoritarian, totalitarian group of organizations that are working together, they're the ones controlling what's getting into our public schools.
[01:30:03]  They're controlling the curriculum through Common Core.
[01:30:07]  They have a lot of power.
[01:30:09]  And teachers like me are silenced and actually bullied and oftentimes chased out of our jobs if we stand up and speak against this corruption.
[01:30:19]  So it's worse than anyone can imagine.
[01:30:22]  So, Rebecca, it is remarkable to me how fast this has come on now.
[01:30:30]  We've known that it's been bad.
[01:30:31]  We know that it's infiltrating, but there's a new sex ed curriculum that is spreading across the country.
[01:30:38]  Texas has to vote on it on September 4th, and no one I know even knows a word about it.
[01:30:44]  And it is radical, absolutely radical.
[01:30:49]  Where they're teaching mutual masturbation in third grade.
[01:30:54]  Yeah.
[01:30:55]  Oh, yeah.
[01:30:56]  Look, Glenn, I wrote three chapters about this in my book, and I wrote that in 2016, launched in 2018.
[01:31:02]  Nobody knew about it.
[01:31:03]  I found out about it in 2013 when a parent contacted me from Northern California, and she sent me this curricula that was being used in her daughter's fifth grade classroom.
[01:31:14]  She points out this lesson called the condom relay races, where the kids in mixed company were having to face a fully erect male penis model and put condoms on it.
[01:31:29]  And the teacher was told, make this a fun activity.
[01:31:32]  I mean, it's child abuse.
[01:31:34]  And it starts in preschool, actually, telling our children, your parents didn't know your gender when you were born, so they assigned you a gender.
[01:31:42]  And someday you'll figure out your gender based on this spectrum of an unending number of genders.
[01:31:48]  This has been going on for a long time.
[01:31:50]  It's been pushed through the United Nations for decades.
[01:31:54]  And we have folks fighting it there.
[01:31:56]  They get bullied.
[01:31:57]  And the teachers' unions are the root key bringing it into our school.
[01:32:02]  Do you remember?
[01:32:04]  Do you remember, Rebecca?
[01:32:05]  And first of all, let me just say that we're not covering the sexual stuff tonight.
[01:32:10]  That's going to be in a follow-up episode.
[01:32:12]  But this is now the standardized.
[01:32:15]  It was in places like California.
[01:32:17]  This is now being standard.
[01:32:18]  It's in Texas.
[01:32:20]  It is coming to Texas, and you have about two weeks to stop it from coming to Texas.

[01:32:27]  That's because the unions control everything.

[01:32:30]  So do you remember 2008?
[01:32:32]  I remember reading a story about the California Teachers Union, where they removed a bylaw that had been put in in like the 1970s, maybe.
[01:32:43]  And it was if you were part of any movement that was calling for the destruction of the United States of America, or if you were involved in any communist organization, you could not be a member of the teachers' union.
[01:32:58]  And 2008, they reversed that and got rid of that bylaw.
[01:33:02]  And I remember saying, why would you do that?
[01:33:05]  Why would you want someone in your organization that was part of a violent overthrow of the United States of America?
[01:33:14]  We know now.
[01:33:15]  Because that's who they are.
[01:33:17]  They're not hiding it anymore.
[01:33:19]  They've been doing this stuff for decades in the dark, underground.
[01:33:23]  And now they're coming out with it.
[01:33:25]  Thank God they're out in the light now.
[01:33:28]  And so people are finally listening and awakening to this.
[01:33:31]  And we don't have much time.
[01:33:34]  Our kids are on the line.
[01:33:35]  Our country's on the line.

[01:35:00]  In fact, many government unions are involved in this: AFL-CIO and these others.

[01:35:08]  They're collecting billions annually in tax-free dues from teachers and other government workers.
[01:35:16]  We fought to free them.
[01:35:17]  They don't have to pay for that stuff anymore.
[01:35:19]  People don't realize that.
[01:35:20]  So, if we can help them to realize that.
[01:35:22]  But I'd love to chat with you about how they're bringing it into our schools.

[01:36:24]  And also, I want to talk to her about the teachers' unions because I can't imagine how this is even legal to teach this stuff.

[01:36:40]  And no, it isn't legal.
[01:36:41]  And why aren't, like you said, why aren't we storming and marching?
[01:36:45]  So, the teachers' unions passed a business item in 2017 that they are in partnership with the Southern Poverty Law Center, the NAACP, the ACLU, something called Gelson, Gay Lesbian Strait Education Network, and all these other organizations.
[01:37:01]  And in this partnership, they are, they make it sound nice that they're human rights groups and that they're going to come against discrimination and racism and homophobia and educate and eradicate hate.
[01:37:14]  But when you look at SPLC's hate list, it's a bunch of Christian organizations, Jewish organizations that they are calling haters.
[01:37:22]  So, what they're doing is they're actually working together to attack people of faith.
[01:37:28]  Okay, they're after God.
[01:37:30]  And so they do this by bringing in a whole conglomeration of curricula.
[01:37:36]  One's called Teaching Tolerance, written by SPLC.
[01:37:40]  It's major to understand teaching tolerance.
[01:37:43]  I can send you information about it if you want.
[01:37:45]  But they use teaching tolerance, and then they have created what they call social justice toolkits for students, and they're for teachers too.
[01:37:54]  I can send you that.
[01:37:55]  This toolkit, the one I have, is on California Teachers Association, but this is nationwide.
[01:38:00]  Children can click on this site and they can click onto a live link to SPLC and they can report their classmates, their teacher, their parents as haters.

[01:46:18]  How connected are you to the university?
[01:46:22]  None whatsoever.
[01:46:23]  Oh, good.

[01:46:24]  The Thomas B. Fordham Institute.
[01:46:25]  It's named after an Ohio benefactored industrialist.
[01:46:30]  But yeah, no relationship.

[01:46:32]  And I just wanted to make sure because my daughter went to Fordham and the priest there taught her that most of the Bible is just a made-up, ridiculous thing.
[01:46:41]  Anyway, so I wanted to talk to you because you have written some op-eds and you are working with Democracy Prep Public Schools.
[01:46:54]  They're charter schools.
[01:46:56]  And you are pointing out the trouble on some of the things that are coming away, in particular here, the 1619 project, and how parents need to be involved and get this stuff out of their schools immediately.
[01:47:13]  Yeah, well, I don't take a position, at least not publicly, on whether or not it should be in schools or not.
[01:47:20]  But the point is, and it's interesting, Glenn, that you brought up Fordham University because there's this idea that I think most of us in education, K-12 education, have, that we have academic freedom, so to speak.
[01:47:32]  Well, that's an idea from higher ed.
[01:47:35]  There have been decades of court decisions that say, well, not really.
[01:47:39]  There's a difference between being a university professor and being a K-12 teacher.
[01:47:44]  So you have academic freedom, basically.
[01:47:46]  The courts have recognized this at a university.
[01:47:49]  You really don't have it for K-12.
[01:47:51]  Lots of court decisions have said that we as teachers are basically hired speech, that it's school boards that get to decide what the curriculum is.
[01:48:00]  So it's the school board that has to stand up and say no or yes to these kinds of things.
[01:48:10]  That's right.
[01:48:10]  And there was just an interesting Heritage Foundation poll, which is what kind of inspired me to look into this.
[01:48:16]  They did a poll of school board members, and they found, and this may surprise you, that 70% do not agree with the idea that the school curriculum should promote the view that our founding ideals of liberty and equality were false when they were written.
[01:48:30]  That was the idea from the 1619 project in the New York Times.
[01:48:34]  An even higher number disagree that American history should be, quote, reframed so that children will learn that the U.S. has been tainted by slavery and racism.
[01:48:43]  Now, to be clear, like if a school board says, nope, that's the way we want to teach history, well, there's 14,000 school boards in this country, districts.
[01:48:52]  The courts and the Constitution recognizes their right to teach it that way.
[01:48:57]  But the point is that someone has to say, no, we will teach it this way.
[01:49:00]  No, we will not teach it this way.
[01:49:01]  And it's not individual teachers.
[01:49:03]  Okay, so you're saying that two-thirds of parents say they don't want it.
[01:49:08]  How do the school boards feel about 1619?
[01:49:11]  Yeah, no, interestingly, the school boards are even more, quote, conservative about this than parents.
[01:49:18]  Parents are more evenly divided, but about 70% of school boards reject the premises or appear to reject the premises according to this Heritage Foundation poll that the 1619 project puts forward.
[01:49:30]  And that makes a certain amount of sense.
[01:49:31]  I mean, these are elected officials, so they're probably not eager to touch this controversy whatsoever.
[01:49:37]  But if I'm a parent and I'm concerned about this, then probably the first thing I'm going to do is go to my local school board and say, hey, wait a minute, how do we teach this here?
[01:49:46]  Are teachers authorized to use this 1619 project curriculum?
[01:49:51]  Yes or no?
[01:49:52]  Because one of the things that's important to discuss, this gets a little bit inside baseball, but it's kind of critical.
[01:49:57]  Even though school boards have been recognized as having the ability, the authority to dictate curriculum, there's a huge amount of gray area.
[01:50:06]  All the data that we have suggests that teachers don't necessarily, if they have a curriculum at all, they don't necessarily teach it the way it was written.
[01:50:14]  The vast, vast majority of teachers, sometimes for very good reasons, adapt their curriculum, pull materials, you know, put from outside sources.
[01:50:23]  That's a standard practice, and it's not always nefarious.
[01:50:25]  It's often usually for very good reasons.
[01:50:28]  I personally want our teachers to be more empowered to be able to connect with the students in the way they see fit.
[01:50:37]  Let's let them bring their own personality.
[01:50:40]  The problem is that we have teachers, and tonight I'm exposing a document dump: 800 documents, not pages, files, 800 files of curriculum that is being dumped out into our schools.
[01:51:00]  And if you can't use it in the schools, BLM and others are saying, well, yeah, but you can fold this in, and there's ways to fold it into math classes.
[01:51:10]  Like you said, there's a lot of gray area.
[01:51:14]  So they can use examples.
[01:51:15]  That's my point.
[01:51:16]  Right.
[01:51:16]  Now, this is precisely the point: I think most of us as teachers, there's 3.7 million teachers in American public schools.
[01:51:24]  Most of us assume that we have broad latitude to do things like that, to colour materials from wherever we will.
[01:51:31]  And in practice, we do.
[01:51:35]  But if somebody makes an issue out of it, then school boards have the right to say, no, sorry, you can't use that material.
[01:51:40]  But just we seldom get asked to, or school boards seldom get asked to make those declarations.
[01:51:45]  So how do you feel about the teachers' unions coming after schools like yours?
[01:51:50]  You know, private schools, charter schools, homeschooling?
[01:51:54]  What's happening there?
[01:51:56]  Yeah, look, I'm a pretty staunch school choice guy.
[01:52:01]  I teach at a charter school.
[01:52:03]  And I should also say I take very great pains to not bring any of my personal views about education and politics into my classroom.
[01:52:11]  But I have this other hat that I wear at the Fordham Institute.
[01:52:15]  And in my professional work, yeah, look, I'm staunchly pro, pro-choice, pro-charter, even pro-homeschooling.
[01:52:21]  So it's been kind of an interesting and clarifying moment to see the degree to which I would argue that the unions are really overreaching and trying to impose their will upon schools at a time where there's just so much uncertainty about whether kids are going to go back to school or not.
[01:52:38]  And everything's in flux, and I think they're overreaching.

[01:54:05]  And then at the end of the week, your kid has to have some sort of a protest.

[01:54:17]  And this is every parent's nightmare on steroids, absolutely on steroids.
