[00:00:00]  The studies of twins who are conjoined at the head and share brain activity hasn't been as systematic as one would like, but there's a lot that's known about them.
[00:00:09]  They're quite rare.
[00:00:11]  The ones that are probably the best known are Tatiana and Krista Hogan, who are twin girls who live in British Columbia.
[00:00:18]  And they were born joined at the skull.
[00:00:22]  And they have what's called a phalamic bridge, which is a bridge of brain tissue that connects the deepest parts of their brains.
[00:00:30]  So their brains connect.
[00:00:32]  And they can do some remarkable things.
[00:00:36]  They can see at least partially through each other's eyes.
[00:00:39]  They can feel to some extent each other's skin.
[00:00:42]  There's a video, actually, of their mother sitting with them on a couch, and the girls close their eyes, and the mother will touch one girl's hand, and both girls will say, you're touching the hand.
[00:00:55]  One girl will say, you're touching my hand.
[00:00:57]  The other girl says, you're touching my sister's hand.
[00:01:00]  They share some motor control over each other's limbs.
[00:01:04]  They can share emotions.
[00:01:06]  And they seem to share memories to some extent.
[00:01:12]  But as far as we know, they don't share reason and free will.
[00:01:17]  First of all, they have different personalities.
[00:01:19]  They get into fights.
[00:01:20]  They have different opinions on them.
[00:01:21]  And they both have to go to school.
[00:01:23]  Meaning, they both have to study.
[00:01:24]  It's not like one girl can sit there learning her times tables and the other girl who's attached can just watch TV, but she knows the times tables too.
[00:01:32]  So again, we see this dichotomy between reason and free will and all the things that the brain does.
[00:01:40]  And they show that even if you have connected brains, your reason and free will is separate because they have separate souls.
[00:01:49]  They have brains that are connected.
[00:01:51]  But they're separate human beings.
[00:01:52]  They're separate persons and they have separate souls.
