Epoch Times - The Legacy of Daniel Suidani, Who Dared to Stand Up to the CCP Taking Over the Solomon Islands Aired: 2025-11-12 Duration: 03:49 === Daniel Suidani's Legacy (03:38) === [00:00:00] Well, and last year when you went to the Solomon Islands, you actually met with former premier of Malaita Province, Daniel Suidani. [00:00:09] Daniel Sudani. [00:00:10] Yeah. [00:00:10] May he rest in peace. [00:00:12] Yes. [00:00:12] That's right. [00:00:13] He just passed away. [00:00:14] And that story, by the way, is kind of interesting. [00:00:17] He passed away for lack of receiving dialysis. [00:00:21] And he was refused dialysis in Haniara, which is on the island of Guadalcanal. [00:00:29] It's the capital of the country. [00:00:31] And they only have a single functioning dialysis machine there. [00:00:36] And the one doctor, who's a nephrologist that runs the thing, is actually a citizen of the People's Republic of China. [00:00:44] And so he's in their pocket, too. [00:00:47] And here we have the prime opposition leader, who's a very brave, courageous guy, dying of kidney failure because he can't get dialysis. [00:01:00] Let's talk about Premier Sui Dani a little bit more. [00:01:04] I've actually had him on this show a couple of years ago, and we've talked about him a number of times. [00:01:10] What does it mean that the Premier of a province of a tiny island nation which has this mass subversion, mass influence operation, mass bribery campaign affected on the island? [00:01:27] What does it take for a person like that to be the hero who will stand up to them? [00:01:32] Well, courage comes in handy. [00:01:34] That's the first thing you need just to face down the opposition and the Chinese, frankly. [00:01:41] But he was. [00:01:42] He was a very, very selfless, courageous leader. [00:01:47] I actually got to know him because it was brought to my attention that he needed a visa to come to the United States for medical treatment. [00:01:58] And he was denied that by our State Department. [00:02:02] And I was so flabbergasted that I called up the Secretary of State and said, what the heck? [00:02:10] This guy is a hero. [00:02:12] And, you know, he's our hero. [00:02:16] He's the last bulwark against the Chinese taking over the Solomon Islands. [00:02:21] We should be open arms, welcoming him, not denying him a visa. [00:02:28] And so they actually changed their ruling, gave him a visa. [00:02:34] So he dropped by the office to say thank you. [00:02:38] Well, I mean, I met his family, by the way. [00:02:42] I went back to the Solomon Islands when I made that trip, and I met his wife and daughters. [00:02:48] They're lovely people. [00:02:50] You know, I just want to remind everyone watching, right, these islands are of great strategic interest to the United States. [00:02:58] They are very strategic. [00:03:01] Whenever you think about, you know, whether you're thinking about Ukraine and Russia, you're thinking about the Indo-Pacific and China, you look at the map and you go, my God, there are a lot of island nations out there between here and there. [00:03:16] Who controls those things? [00:03:18] And it turns out China has established a very, very strong control of a whole lot of the Indo-Pacific nations. === Always In Someone's Zone (00:25) === [00:03:28] So, you know, you think, well, they're tiny islands that just sail between them. [00:03:32] But, you know, their exclusive economic zones interlock. [00:03:36] So that you never leave. [00:03:38] You're always in somebody's exclusive economic zone, which means they have some control over what's going on in their area if they control their own government.
