Epoch Times - This is what would make the CCP really afraid | Amb. Sam Brownback Aired: 2025-10-29 Duration: 01:56 === President's Role in Framing Adversaries (01:55) === [00:00:00] Ronald Reagan went at the Soviet Union before he was president, and he went at them on their values and their rights. [00:00:08] He went at them and he said, look at what happens to the Jewish refuseniks. [00:00:12] Look what happens to the evangelicals by the godless communist that he would use. [00:00:20] He'd use very pejorative terms. [00:00:23] But what he was doing, he's speaking with clarity to the United States community and the broader freedom-loving community about who we're up against. [00:00:32] And I do believe the president needs to start speaking in those types of terms about who we are up against. [00:00:40] If Secretary of State Rubio flew to Dharm Salah and met with the Dalai Lama and endorsed his third way approach of a separate independent Tibet inside of China, that freaks Chinese leadership out. [00:01:01] If the president were to meet with Falen Gong leaders in the White House, that creates huge pressure internally inside of China. [00:01:16] These are the sort of things that don't really cost any money, but the visual imagery of it, if the president were to meet in the Oval Office with a series of people that have been persecuted by Chinese Communist Party and just has them tell their story, that creates leverage because it shows what system we are up against. [00:01:40] And that's what we really need to do, in my estimation, more than anything right now. [00:01:45] This just isn't an economic competition. [00:01:48] This isn't a competition between the largest economy and the second largest economy. [00:01:53] This is a competition of ideals.
