Epoch Times - What to Know About Seed Oils and Animal Fats: Sally Fallon Morell Aired: 2025-10-09 Duration: 02:27 === Why Seed Oils Are Not So Healthy (02:27) === [00:00:00] Animal fats are expensive and the food industry needs a cheap oil. [00:00:06] And this started in the 1890s when they developed the stainless steel press, which allowed them to get oil out of seeds that you couldn't do that before. [00:00:18] So the first one was cottonseed oil, and then they could get oil out of corn, which had never been done before, and then canola, which is rapeseed, and soybeans. [00:00:32] So they started using these instead of the animal fats, and they had a big campaign to make you think that these seed oils were a healthy alternative to animal fats. [00:00:45] But they're not somehow? [00:00:47] No, they're not. [00:00:48] They're not. [00:00:50] The problem with the oils is that they're fragile. [00:00:54] Any liquid oil is fragile and it oxidizes easily and it breaks down in the body into simple molecules called aldehydes. [00:01:04] Not to get too technical, but there is an aldehyde that you know about. [00:01:08] It's called formaldehyde. [00:01:10] And I think it's very interesting that the undertakers are saying they don't need as much formaldehyde anymore to cure or preserve these bodies. [00:01:19] It's already there. [00:01:21] And this is coming from the seed oils. [00:01:24] And they have been implicated. [00:01:27] They're carcinogenic. [00:01:28] They know that. [00:01:29] They have been implicated in heart disease and many other conditions. [00:01:33] And infertility is another thing that they lead to. [00:01:38] These things are ubiquitous. [00:01:39] They are everywhere. [00:01:42] I'd never heard anything about, like, why would you have something that's known carcinogenic? [00:01:47] Like, this doesn't make a terrible amount of sense to most people. [00:01:51] So we have to kind of back up a little bit. [00:01:54] Follow the money. [00:01:55] I mean, it's much less expensive to use soybean oil or corn oil and then butter. [00:02:02] Butter is a very expensive fat, or lard or tallow. [00:02:07] Those are the three main ones. [00:02:08] And then there's also what I call the fruit oils, which is palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil. [00:02:15] These are much healthier than the seed oils because they're more saturated. [00:02:19] And you know, the saturated fats have been demonized. [00:02:22] But the saturated fats are the good fats. [00:02:25] They're the stable fats that don't break down.
