Epoch Times - Nick Searcy: Here’s How Trump’s Special Ambassadors to Hollywood Could Shake Up the Industry Aired: 2025-08-22 Duration: 01:45 === Conservatives in Hollywood (01:45) === [00:00:00] It's a funny thing about the conservative side of filmmaking, the conservative side of Hollywood. [00:00:07] What happens is you get people like John Voigt, Sylvester Sallone, Mel Gibson, who have such big stars that doesn't matter, right? [00:00:17] Their conservatism is not going to affect them. [00:00:20] Maybe it'll affect them with certain people, but they're never going to be hurting for work. [00:00:25] They've kind of made it. [00:00:26] There's not a big movement on the conservative side to help out conservatives that are lower down on the ladder. [00:00:35] What could they do? [00:00:37] Well, people with that kind of power, I mean, with that kind of star power, they could form a studio. [00:00:43] They, you know, that's been done in the past, you know, United Artists, you know, that kind of thing. [00:00:50] They could have enough money and power that they could pull together a studio because that's what's needed. [00:00:58] You know, that's why Netflix and Amazon is able to churn out so many films. [00:01:03] You know, they have pooled their resources so that they're making the kinds of films that support what they believe in. [00:01:11] We don't do that. [00:01:13] Conservatives are afraid of investing in films because basically it's a bad investment. [00:01:18] You know, chances are you're going to lose your money. [00:01:21] So what we have to do if we really want to compete is create a system where we have, we're able to make 10 films and maybe one of them makes enough money to float the other nine. [00:01:32] That's what they do. [00:01:34] So I wish that they would use their star power and their influence to build something like that, but I don't think they will. [00:01:42] It's not how the conservative mind works. [00:01:44] You know, we're all individuals.
