[00:00:00]  A lot of people say, why are you advocating for the property owner and the landlord so much?

[00:00:04]  We lived in a very small house in Pacifica.
[00:00:06]  Most people don't even know where Pacifica is.
[00:00:08]  It's just south of San Francisco.
[00:00:11]  My mother worked two jobs.
[00:00:12]  She worked for Stanford University and then worked for retail.
[00:00:15]  My dad worked full-time for FedEx and he worked as an auto mechanic.
[00:00:19]  And then he somehow found time to do a pizza route where my brother and I would go pizza routes with him.
[00:00:23]  And then around 3 or 4 a.m.
[00:00:25]  in the morning, he was doing a paper route.
[00:00:26]  They worked tirelessly for this property, to afford this property.
[00:00:30]  And there was nothing special about that home.
[00:00:32]  But I tell you what, they never told us how special it was and how important this concept of homeownership was.
[00:00:37]  But they demonstrated it just by way of their work ethic.
[00:00:40]  80% of property owners of landlords in California are actually people, individuals, just like my parents.
