Internal Emails Show Pfizer Board Member (former FDA Director) Censoring Natural Immunity on Twitter

With a brand new batch of internal Twitter documents having just been released, we have a clear glimpse into the type of deep, hidden systemic censorship that you and I have been subject to for the past three years now when trying to post anything about either COVID or the vaccine.
And the details of the censorship are both shocking, and they also blur the lines completely between government and private sector, between the FDA and Pfizer.
And so let me set the stage for you properly at what these documents actually reveal.
And if you appreciate content like this, I do hope you take a quick moment to smash those like and subscribe buttons.
Now, one of the biggest, and I believe most accurate critiques of the U.S. government is how a revolving door exists between public service and private enterprise.
There are just countless examples of people who climb their way to the very highest levels within the US government and then turn right around, join a corporation, and then lobby the US government on that corporation's behalf using the very connections that were made during their time in public service.
Now again, this is not a new phenomenon.
Whether it's Tony Podesta being paid a million dollars by Huawei to lobby the Biden administration, whether it's Lloyd Austin being on the board of directors for Raytheon before becoming the Secretary of Defense, or the hundreds of former senators and congressmen who now work at lobbying firms on K Street in Washington, D.C., The revolving door is a very real thing.
And according to these newly released documents, these newly released emails from inside of Twitter, this revolving door is affecting your ability to speak freely online.
You see, this man right here is Dr.
Scott Guttlieb.
He used to be the head of the FDA, the Food and Drug Administration, before he left his official post to become a board member at a little-known company called Pfizer.
And according to this new batch of internal emails, which were just released by Elon Musk, well, it turns out that Dr.
Gottlieb was, among other things, lobbying Twitter to take down posts from other doctors, which accurately pointed out that some studies were showing that natural immunity was superior to Pfizer's COVID vaccine.
Specifically, according to these emails, on August 27th of 2021, Dr.
Gottlieb wrote an email to a Twitter executive requesting that they take action against a certain post.
Now, the Twitter post in question here was written by Dr.
Brett Jurwa, who linked to an Israel study and wrote this, quote, It's now clear that COVID-19 natural immunity is superior to vaccine immunity by a lot.
There's no science justification for vax proof, meaning vax mandates, if a person had prior infection.
The CDC director and president of the U.S., who at that time was Joe Biden, must follow the science.
If no previous infection, get vaccinated.
Now, there are two very important things that you need to know about that particular Twitter post.
The first is that the man who posted it, Dr.
Brett Jirwa, he's not a random doctor.
He himself was a former commissioner of the FDA. He's not some random doctor who happens to have an opinion.
He was the former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
Secondly, the study that he linked to right below his message was a preprint study conducted by Israeli researchers who found, after analyzing the health records within their medical system, that natural immunity provided better protection against COVID than the vaccine immunity.
Now that's not me saying it.
That was what the study said.
Here was specifically what these researchers wrote as a part of their conclusion.
And again, I'm not advocating this view for the YouTube censors.
I'm just reading what was linked in the study that was posted by the former FDA commissioner.
Quote, The data demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer-lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease, and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 compared to the Pfizer two-dose vaccine-induced immunity.
And even though, at the time that the Twitter post was made, this was a preprint study, it has since been peer-reviewed and published in the Clinical Infectious Diseases Medical Journal.
And so, this is the situation.
You have a former commissioner of the FDA posting on Twitter a link to a solid study out of Israel and making a comment about it.
Now, whether the conclusions of that particular study are accurate and universal across the entire world, that's a topic of discussion.
But that's a discussion that Dr.
Scott Guttlieb did not want to see happen.
Here's specifically what he wrote in an email to a Twitter executive.
And wouldn't you know it, Dr.
Guttlieb's email to that Twitter executive triggered a flurry of discussion on Twitter's internal messaging system, the system that the employees of the company were using to communicate with one another across different departments.
And it's not a surprise why this caused such a commotion.
Because the Twitter executive, who initially received Dr.
Gottlieb's email requesting the review of the tweet, he passed it along to the group and added this, quote, And then right below that was the email complaint.
And so you see what happened there.
Sure, Dr.
Gottlieb was the former FDA commissioner, which is a title that naturally carries a lot of weight.
But at the same time that he sent that message, he was actually a board member at Pfizer, and that was not mentioned in the chat.
And so imagine for a moment that you're an employee sitting at your computer, you're an employee at Twitter, in front of your computer, and suddenly a message pops up that says, the former FDA commissioner says that this post that's critical of the vaccine should be taken down.
Now, that carries a lot of weight.
And it's a lot different than the more accurate message that should have come in that said something like, a current board member at Pfizer is asking us to take down this post that's critical of the vaccine.
You see the contrast there.
And that contrast, well, it made all the difference.
Because according to the internal chats, a Twitter analyst went in and he reviewed that post.
The analyst then determined that the post actually did not violate at all any of the misinformation rules.
But...
Twitter still put a tag on it.
You can see the tag up on your screen, saying that the content is quote-unquote "misleading." And because of that tag, people were no longer able to share, reply to, or even to like the post.
And then, if they happened to click on the study that was linked in the post, instead of going to the actual Israel study, Twitter instead directed them to a page which explained why health officials recommend a vaccine for most people.
And that is how the revolving door of government and the censorship machine of Twitter work together hand in glove.
And by the way, after these emails came to light, Dr.
Brett Gerwat, he came out and released a statement in response saying this, quote, My tweet was accurate then and remains so now.
I'm not anti-vax and even recommended the vaccine in the tagged tweet, but there was no scientific basis for discriminating, tormenting, ruining those who had been naturally infected but were unvaxed.
Now, as you likely imagined, this was not the only episode of this type of censorship that was uncovered in this treasure trove of new documents.
That's because, shortly after all this took place, Dr.
Gottlieb once again emailed that same Twitter executive and flagged a different post for Mr.
Justin Hart, who was a critic of the lockdowns as well as a skeptic of the COVID vaccines.
The post in question said this, quote, Sticks and stones may break my bones, but a viral pathogen with a child mortality rate of almost 0% has cost our children nearly three years of schooling.
Now, again, whether you agree with his critique of the government policy or not, well, it would be hard to label this as misinformation, given the fact that at the time that this post was made, there were multiple studies showing that COVID posed a very small mortality risk to young, healthy kids.
Regardless, though, Dr.
Gottlieb attempted to take this post down anyway, without really providing a reason why within his email, he just said that it should be removed when he emailed the Twitter executive.
But here's a little coincidence.
His request came right on the heels of the U.S. government authorizing and recommending Pfizer's vaccine for children aged 5 to 11.
The U.S. government authorized the vaccine for kids, and then shortly after, you have this Pfizer board member, using his clout as the former FDA commissioner, putting pressure on Twitter to silence all dissent.
And once again, inside their internal message group, when that Twitter executive forwarded the request to the rest of the company, he only mentioned that the request came from the former FDA commissioner, meaning that he once again, for the second time, failed to disclose the fact that Dr. Gottlieb Gottlieb has ties to Pfizer.
Now, in this case, Twitter did not take any action against this particular post.
But that did not stop Dr.
Gottlieb from trying again.
All right, just to pause here for a super quick moment, I wanted to mention that the sponsor for today's episode is a super cool company called Secure.
And they're a cool company for people that actually care about their privacy.
Because listen, if you don't think that these giant tech inglomerates and all these different alphabet agencies within the U.S. government are spying on your messages, well, then frankly, you are not paying enough attention to the nukes.
However, all that can be in the past because with Secure, they have awesome proprietary technology that has all your messages and all your emails actually go through Switzerland as they're making their way back and forth between you and your recipient.
And so let's say you're here in America and the person you're messaging is over in Canada, Mexico, or anywhere else in the world.
Well, it doesn't matter because all your messages are actually going through Switzerland back and forth from one to another, meaning that they are not subject to the Cloud Act and they are only subject to Swiss laws, which are some of the safest in the entire world.
Their technology is awesome.
It's proprietary and they're a company that actually cares about your freedom.
They care about getting the facts out, which is why they sponsor a company like ours.
And best of all, they are offering a 25% off deal for our viewers, for the viewers of Facts Matter.
So head on over to secure.com and use promo code Roman to get 25% off.
And the rates are not even that expensive to start with.
It's only $5 for the messenger and $10 for the email and messenger combo.
And they even offer a seven-day free trial.
So again, head on over to secure.com, use promo code Roman, save some money, and support an awesome sponsor.
That's because these emails reveal that in August of 2021, Dr.
Gottlieb tried successfully to get a journalist kicked off the platform.
Specifically, this here is Mr.
Alex Berenson.
He's a former reporter with the New York Times, and he now authors a Substack channel that's fairly critical of the government's response to COVID. And back in August of 2021, he wrote this article here, critical of Dr.
Fauci.
Specifically, that article was in response to Dr.
Fauci saying that criticism of him was actually criticism of science itself, which Alex Berenson described as being a form of arrogance, which was a fairly widespread notion at the time.
But here's what happened.
According to these internal Twitter emails, Dr. Scott Gutley forwarded that article to his contact over at Twitter, and he wrote that by calling Dr. Fauci arrogant, Alex Berenson was actually putting Dr. Fauci's life in danger.
Apparently, because Alex Berenson Fauci needed a security detail.
Then, Dr.
Gottlieb met in person with the employees at Twitter to discuss the matter in more detail.
And wouldn't you believe it?
Just one day after that meeting, Twitter banned outright Alex Berenson for allegedly violating their rules on COVID misinformation.
The only thing that I can say is that is truly amazing.
In defending his actions, here's what Dr.
Gottlieb said during an interview with CNBC. I've raised concerns around social media broadly, and I've done it around the threats that are being made on these platforms and the inability of these platforms to police direct threats, physical threats about people.
That's my concerns around social media and what's going on in that ecosystem.
I'm very concerned with physical threats being made against people's safety and the people who gin up those threats against individuals.
On the flip side, though, Alex Berenson responded to that comment by Dr.
Scott Guttlieb by saying that he never threatened Dr.
Fauci and that criticizing a government official about the way that they fulfilled their government duties is well within the right of what a U.S. citizen is allowed to do.
And so, there you have it, a tiny glimpse into the inner workings of the revolving door censorship machine that we all now find ourselves caught up in.
I'll see you next time.
And then, until next time, I'm your host, Roman from the Epoch Times.
