Documents Reveal Secret Twitter Portal US Government Used to Censor COVID Content

Time Text
According to these newly released documents right here, frankly to no one's surprise, it turns out that the United States government had access to a secret Twitter portal which they were using to censor COVID-related content that contradicted the government's narrative.
These same files also reveal the fact that the government officials, these same government officials, were working closely alongside Facebook employees in order to basically do the very same thing over on that platform.
And before we dive into the specifics of these documents, I want to give a quick shout-out to our reporter here at the Epoch Times, Ms.
Patricia Tolson, who put a lot of this research together over on the Epoch Times website.
And it's also worth mentioning that these specific documents were not actually part of the Twitter files that Elon Musk is slowly releasing.
But rather, they were obtained by an organization called America First Legal, otherwise known as AFL, and they have been conducting a probe into the censorship practices of big tech for the last few months, I believe over a year now.
And this treasure trove of documents is actually the fourth release thus far.
For your reference, according to their most recent news briefing over on the AFL's website, the first release had to do with exposing the explicit collusion between the CDC and big tech in order to censor what the Biden administration deemed to be quote-unquote misinformation.
Their second release showed some of the more specific ways that the CDC was sending both Facebook as well as Twitter specific posts that they were able to then take down, throttle, censor, or flag.
Their third release had to do with the fact that the CDC's guidance on masks, specifically their masking guidance for schoolchildren, was governed by political polling.
And then now, their fourth release of documents, as I mentioned just a moment ago, well, this new set of documents exposes, among several other things, a secret Twitter portal which U.S. government officials were using to censor dissenting views regarding COVID. Specifically, what these documents show is that the CDC was actively collaborating with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, as well as a company called Mafindo to mitigate so-called disinformation.
And for your reference, Mafindo is a Facebook third-party fact-checking partner based out in Indonesia.
They are funded by Google, and in the past, They've been known to have censored keyword searches for things like coronavirus, COVID-19, as well as blocking information regarding the adverse reactions caused by the vaccines.
And they were the ones who the CDC officials were collaborating with in order to censor people on Twitter.
Now, let's go through some of the specifics of the secret portal, what it actually was, And the best way to do that, I believe, is to go through a short timeline of events.
According to these documents, on March 10th of 2021, an email was sent from a Facebook employee who was in charge of U.S. public policy, and this email was sent to several employees over at the CDC. And interestingly, this email referenced Facebook's giant, quote, weekly sync with the CDC, and how the CDC was supposed to, quote, invite other agencies as needed.
Then, about two weeks later, on March 24th of 2021, another email was sent from that same Facebook employee to the CDC employees, and it said this, Then, about six weeks later,
on May 10th of 2021, A Twitter employee—notice now that it's Twitter, not Facebook—a Twitter employee recommended to a CDC official that she enroll in Twitter's partner support portal, which he described as, quote, the best way to get a spreadsheet like this reviewed, most likely referring to a spreadsheet of Twitter posts that the CDC official wanted to have reviewed in regards to misinformation.
Then, on the very next day, on May 11th of 2021, that same CDC official enrolled her personal Twitter account And right there, the CDC official, a government official, joined the secret Twitter back channel for easily reporting and essentially taking down what the government deems to be misinformation.
Then, about eight days later, Facebook released their Community Standards Manual, which revealed how Facebook works alongside lawmakers, lawyers, as well as what they refer to as human rights activists in developing policies in achieving their goal of, quote, bringing 50 million people a step closer to vaccinations while also, quote, combating COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation and overcoming global challenges in vaccination.
That very same manual, by the way, also listed some of the methods that Facebook was using to achieve this particular goal, including, quote, removing false information that has been debunked by public health experts, rejecting ads that violate their policies, including ads that discourage vaccination, as well as reducing the distribution of misleading claims rated by the independent fact checkers.
Then, according to these documents, the types of posts that Facebook would delete, which the CDC or any other public health authority deemed to be false, included the following.
Claims that COVID is no more dangerous than the common flu or common cold.
Claims that COVID cannot be transmitted in certain climates, weather conditions, or locations.
claims that for the average person, something can guarantee prevention from getting COVID or can guarantee recovery from COVID before such a cure or prevention has been approved by the government, claims that COVID tests cause cancer, claims about the availability or existence of COVID vaccines, claims about the safety or serious side effects of COVID vaccines, claims about the safety or serious side effects of COVID vaccines, claims about the efficacy of COVID vaccines, claims about how the COVID vaccine was developed or its ingredients, claims involving conspiracy theories about COVID vaccines or vaccine
Then, using those relatively vague criteria, content deemed to have been quote-unquote debunked included, among many, many, many other things, that vaccines cause the person to be more likely to get the disease, that natural immunity is safer than vaccine-acquired immunity, and that vaccines are not effective to prevent the disease that natural immunity is safer than vaccine-acquired immunity, and that vaccines are not effective to prevent
And if a person was deemed to be a repeat offender, meaning that they were repeatedly caught posting such things online, well, they would face restrictions, quote, According to these documents, Facebook then boasted about the fact that they removed over 16 million posts across both Facebook and Instagram, That supposedly violated these policies.
And it's really worth mentioning that while some of Facebook's restrictions do seem to be somewhat reasonable, a lot of other content that was restricted as well as punished was actually true, even though it went against the prevailing government narrative.
These are claims such as vaccines don't prevent transmission, claims that there are in fact adverse events connected to the vaccines, and claims that vaccinated people can still contract COVID despite being vaccinated.
Now today, in 2022, of course all these claims are known to be true by almost everyone.
However, before they were widely known to be true, well, people were getting kicked off these platforms for daring to talk about them.
And as I'm sure you're aware yourself, some of these fact checks were completely ridiculous.
I mentioned this a little while ago, but here was a post that I myself uploaded to Instagram about a month and a half ago.
Which, by the way, if you want to find me on Instagram, my handle is EpicTimesRoman.
Regardless, though, my post showed a picture of a little mouse and said this, quote, Lab made COVID. Researchers at Boston University have created a new strain of COVID-19 that has an 80% kill rate in humanized mice.
Now, if you happen to be following that story, then you know that that statement in that post was 100% technically accurate.
However, within a few days, I noticed that on my Instagram feed, that post was blurred out.
And when I clicked on it, and then clicked on the button that says, well, here's what it said.
Boston University COVID-19 strain killed 20% fewer mice than the wild strain.
80% kill rate does now refer to humans.
That's very interesting, given the fact that I did not say to refer to humans.
The post said clearly humanized mice, and there was even a picture of a mouse on the post.
And also the fact that the synthetic strain of COVID that the scientists created killed less mice than the wild strain is irrelevant.
Because the point of that news story was that Boston-based scientists were creating synthetic strains of COVID that were deadly enough to kill 80% of the mice that they were testing on.
That was the story.
However, because the fact-checkers say that I'm wrong, well, my post became part of the 16 million posts that Facebook brags about censoring.
All the while, what is actually happening is that the American people have less access to real stories.
Now, of course, fortunately, I myself have a large platform, and so I can complain to you about it.
But most people don't have that luxury.
For most people, if the independent fact-checkers say that their factual post is actually false, well, that's it.
They can go scream into the wind and then enjoy getting buried deep into the algorithm.
That's just the reality of this type of quasi-government censorship.
After experiencing it, a lot of people stick to just posting pictures of cute cats and babies and stop publicly questioning the government.
Alright, just to pause here for a super quick moment, I wanted to mention that the sponsor for today's episode is a super cool company called Secure.
And they're a cool company for people that actually care about their privacy.
Because listen, if you don't think that these giant tech and glomerates and all these different alphabet agencies within the US government are spying on your messages, well, then frankly, you are not paying enough attention to the news.
However, all that can be in the past because with Secure, they have awesome proprietary technology that has all your messages and all your emails actually go through Switzerland as they're making their way back and forth between you and your recipient.
And so let's say you're here in America and the person you're messaging is over in Canada, Mexico, or anywhere else in the world.
Well, it doesn't matter because all your messages are actually going through Switzerland back and forth from one to another, meaning that they are not subject to the Cloud Act and they are only subject to Swiss laws, which are some of these And best of all, they are offering a 25% off deal for our viewers, for the viewers of Facts Matter.
So head on over to secure.com and use promo code Roman to get 25% off.
And the rates are not even that expensive to start with.
It's only $5 for the messenger and $10 for the email and messenger combo.
And they even offer a seven-day free trial.
So again, head on over to secure.com, use promo code Roman, save some money, and support an awesome sponsor.
Regardless, if you're like me right now, you're wondering, probably, what this Twitter portal actually looks like on the back end.
Well, that's not exactly clear.
In these documents, the Twitter employee and the CDC official only allude to this portal, and therefore acknowledge tacitly its existence.
However, when America First Legal posted a Twitter thread regarding these findings, Well, Mr.
Elon Musk himself responded by writing simply, quote, extremely concerning.
And so perhaps, given the fact that Mr.
Elon Musk is aware of the situation and actively disclosing the Twitter files, well, maybe he'll ask his team to investigate this secret Twitter portal and disclose the details of it in the near future.
But we'll have to wait and see.
Apparently, the next batch of Twitter files will in fact revolve around Twitter's COVID and vaccine-related censorship, and so I think there's a lot to look forward to.
Until then, if you'd like to go deeper into this story, I will throw the link to this roughly 600 pages of documents.
It'll be down there in the description box below this video, so you can go through them at your own leisure if you so like.
And all I ask in return is that if you haven't already, take a quick moment to smash, smash, smash that like button so this video can be shared out to ever more people.
And also consider subscribing to this YouTube channel as well, that we can get this type of honest news content delivered directly into your YouTube feed every time we publish it.
And then, if you haven't already, head on over to Epic TV and check out our awesome new documentary called The Shadow State.
It details in great depth how this movement towards ESG, this type of corporate governance, is essentially quasi-communism being introduced to our society through the corporate sector.
Here's a trailer.
It's a framework for assessing risk.
It's a complete fraud.
It's much more of a risk mitigation tool.
It's a fraud because it's not better for shareholders, it's not better for stockholders.
Our research shows that companies that do well on ESG end up doing better or fail less.
A movement has been growing to unite corporations, governments, and global institutions.
Its purpose is to deal with issues like climate change, racism, inequality, and gun control.
It is called ESG. If you can control the financial markets, if you can control the access to capital, you can dictate to any industry in the United States the way things are going to be run.
BlackRock and State Street and Vanguard, these are just three firms, control about $21 trillion.
That's about the size of the U.S. GDP. Will governments and corporations decide what we can say?
Will they decide what we buy?
How we travel?
What we eat?
Government is able to use those companies to do through the back door what government could not accomplish through the front door under the Constitution.
Basically, you're gutting the middle class by getting rid of small business.
Those small businesses won't be able to keep up with the ESG report.
Immediately when that happened, PayPal froze the account and wouldn't let us access any of the funds that had been donated to us.
So you can build a huge following, but you don't own your audience.
They own your audience.
They're just giving you access to it.
The tech companies, to some extent, are just an arm of the people in positions of power and government.
Your primary concern is who has my back and the state is that entity.
Those companies that reflect and reiterate state narratives will be rewarded and those who don't will be punished.
I believe this may be one of the biggest cases to reach the United States Supreme Court in this century.
We don't vote on CEOs.
We don't vote on some global world forum.
This is the United States of America.
A year ago, I was very pessimistic.
I didn't think people were going to catch on to this.
Turns out it's not.
Turns out I was wrong.
If you'd like to check out that awesome documentary, as well as a plethora of other great content over on Epic TV, the link will be right there at the very top of the description box.
I hope you check it out.
And then, until next time, I'm your host, Roman from the Epic Times.
Stay informed.
