Just yesterday, well, it finally happened.
After hinting at it for more than a year, President Trump has officially announced his 2024 presidential candidacy.
While speaking at his Mar-a-Lago resort, the same resort I should mention that was raided by the FBI a few months ago, well, President Trump announced his intention to run for president in the upcoming election.
A reporter from our sister media, NTDTV, was there on site, and here's a clip from the official announcement.
Two years ago, when I left office, the United States stood ready for its golden age.
Our nation was at the pinnacle of power, prosperity, and prestige, towering above all rivals, vanquishing all enemies, and striding into the future, confident and so strong.
In four short years, everybody was doing great.
Men, women, African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans.
Everybody was thriving like never before.
There was never a time like this.
We turned the page on decades of globalist sellouts and one-sided trade deals, lifted millions out of poverty, and together we built the greatest economy in the history of the world.
In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.
Now, outside of just announcing his candidacy, President Trump also outlined the problems that he sees with the Biden administration, which he attributed as being the cause for America's high inflation, the looming threat of nuclear war, as well as the poorest southern border.
Furthermore, in regards to China, well, here's what President Trump said: "We turned the page on decades of global sellouts and one-sided trade deals, lifted millions out of poverty, and together we built the greatest economy in the history of the world.
For the first time in memory, China was reeling and back on its heels.
You'd never seen that before, because the United States was outdoing them on every single front and China was paying billions and billions of dollars in taxes and tariffs.
If elected, we will launch an all-out campaign to eliminate America's dependents from China." Now, one other interesting aspect of his speech, and it's something that I never actually thought about before until he mentioned it, was the claim that the vast majority of Trump-endorsed candidates were actually victorious during the midterm elections.
Here's specifically what President Trump said on this front.
I do want to point out that in the midterms, my endorsement success rate was 232 wins and only 22 losses.
You don't hear that from the media.
And indeed, once I got back and I crunched all the numbers, well, here's what they actually show.
In total, during the 2022 midterm elections, President Trump endorsed 257 candidates.
These endorsements broke down as follows.
24 endorsements in the Senate, 158 in the House, 20 gubernatorial candidates, 23 state executives like Secretaries of State, And out of the races that have been called thus far, which, just as an aside, it's kind of crazy that we're now over a week out from the election and there are still so many open races, but setting that aside, here's how President Trump's endorsements have fared during the midterms.
In the Senate, his endorsed candidates won 86% of the races.
In the House, it was 93%.
In the governor's races, it was 45%.
For the other state-level executives, it was 78%.
For the state lawmakers, it's 90%.
And in the four local races that President Trump offered an endorsement, his candidates of choice won 100% of the races.
And so indeed, just as President Trump mentioned in his speech, well, these win rates are quite high.
In total, during the midterms, those candidates who received President Trump's endorsements wound up winning 213 out of 241 races that have been called thus far, which is about 86% of the races, meaning 86% win rates across the entire midterm elections for Trump-endorsed candidates.
However, I dug a little bit deeper into the specifics of these numbers, and that's not exactly the full picture here, because many of the races for which President Trump offered an endorsement were actually already heavily favored to be won by Republicans, meaning that a lot of the races were not really, you can say, competitive to begin with.
President Trump's endorsement might have held the candidate, but it might or might not have been the deciding factor in their victory.
As an example of what I mean by that, if we take a look at the Senate race in Idaho, well, the Republican there won by about 32 points.
Idaho was not about to send a Democrat to the Senate, and so President Trump's endorsement most likely wasn't the deciding factor.
It probably didn't hurt, it probably helped, but at the same time, it wasn't the deciding factor.
And so what I did was that I narrowed the focus and I took a look at only the battleground elections, meaning the midterm races that were either toss-ups or races that leaned slightly left or slightly right.
Essentially, I filtered only for the competitive races.
And when you look at this data, well, it's a slightly different picture.
There were 37 battleground races that had President Trump's endorsed candidate in the running.
There were seven in the U.S. Senate, 21 in the U.S. House, and nine in the gubernatorial elections.
And out of the races that have been called so far, well, President Trump's win rate in these battleground races are as follows.
43% in the Senate, 43% in the House, and 22% in the governor's races.
Overall, within these battleground races, Trump endorsed candidates won 14 out of 35 races that have been called thus far, which is about a 38% win rate, which is still, quite frankly, better than my endorsement would have done, but it's obviously less than what the data shows for the general election.
And so, the establishment within the Republican Party, they have seized on this point, on the point of these battleground races, and they blame President Trump for the Republican Party's underperformance during the midterms.
On the flip side, however, President Trump, he pushed back, laying the blame at the feet of Mitch McConnell and the other establishment Republicans, and by being relatively forthright in his expectation of extreme resistance from the establishment on his new hopes for the 2024 presidential nomination.
Here's specifically what he said, quote, We will be resisted.
By the combined forces of the establishment, the media, the globalists, the Marxist radicals, the woke corporations, the weaponized power of the federal government, the colossal political machines, the tidal wave of dark money, and the most dangerous domestic censorship system ever created by man.
We'll be attacked.
We'll be slandered.
We'll be persecuted.
But we will not be intimidated.
We will persevere and we will stand tall in the storm.
And now, right before we move on, let me show you this beautiful coin.
This right here is an American Walking Liberty one ounce gold coin.
And typically, I order at least one of these from our sponsor, American Heart for Gold, every single month.
The reason I do so is because, I mean, as you likely know, the inflation rate in this country is the highest that has been in, what, the last 40 years now.
Everything like the price of food, The price of housing, the price of gas is absolutely going through the roof.
And in fact, market experts like the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, he's not only predicting a recession, but he's even using words like unprecedented economic hurricane.
And so listen, I absolutely do not give you any financial advice, but I would recommend that you do what I do.
Which is pick up the phone and call American Hartford Gold.

And then let's head on back to the studio.
And indeed, just as he mentioned in that statement, well, President Trump's campaign is facing quite a few headwinds.
And if you'd like to see what these headwinds are, if you'd like to get a glimpse into what they look like, well, go into the YouTube search bar right now and type in the word Trump.
Just type it in, just like that, Trump.
Then, filter by only the posts from the last week and then sort by the number of views.
So then you're only looking at the most recent and the most viewed videos about Trump on YouTube.
As you can see, almost all of them, with very few exceptions, are negative.
They're almost all negative, with many of them coming from late-night TV shows which openly and unabashedly mock both President Trump as well as his supporters.
Now, of course, this is not a new phenomenon by any stretch of the imagination.
However, after January 6th, social media companies completely removed even the veneer of balance.
Because whereas before, they needed to at least have the appearance of some sort of balance in their coverage.
But for the last two years, that's not been the case.
President Trump's accounts have almost all been frozen.
Almost all of his interviews that he conducted on other people's channels have been scrubbed from the internet.
And so, the only updates on what he's doing that the general public receives come from the legacy news outlets as well as late-night talk shows, which have opened his day against him.
Furthermore, after January 6th, forces within the U.S. government are now very much more open about treating President Trump as well as his supporters as something like a threat to democracy.
On many occasions, in fact, Joe Biden has taken to the stage and openly referred to MAGA Republicans as a threat that we must face.
Meaning that in terms of the rhetoric coming out of the White House, the wing of the Republican Party that supports President Trump isn't viewed as a legitimate political force, but rather it's viewed as something closer to a form of homegrown domestic terrorism.
And so, the big question here is what will all this amount to during the Republican primary as well as the actual 2024 presidential election?
Will all these coalescing forces be enough to stop President Trump?
Or will he be able to fight through all these challenges, secure the nomination, and then continue to win the general election?
And if that were to actually happen, well, that would be something unprecedented in terms of just the sheer amount of resistance from the powers that be against a particular candidate.
Because if you remember, during the 2016 and 2020 elections, for instance, well, there was a lot of resistance, but on the flip side, millions of people across America placed Trump flags and Trump placards on their front lawns and in their cars.
However, with the current political environment, where the president's supporters are apt to be labeled as actual domestic terrorists by both the media as well as by forces within the U.S. government, well, will people still be so willing to openly show their support?
Now, of course, I'm sure a lot of people will, but what about the people closer to the middle?
Will they be scared off?
Will they be scared of getting their name put on some kind of a list and therefore not put up a Trump flag or a Trump placard?
And then, Would this type of situation lead people, who don't see many Trump flags flying throughout their neighborhood, assume that his support has withered?
Well, I guess only time will tell.
He just announced his candidacy yesterday, and there's about two full years before the actual election.
And actually, I'd love to know your thoughts on this matter.
What do you think of President Trump's announcement?
Do you think it's a good idea for him to run?
Do you think that he can get the Republican nomination?
And if so, do you think he can actually win the general election in 2024?
And also, as a fun aside question, if the forces within the Republican Party actually push back hard enough and nominate someone else as their candidate, well, do you think that President Trump would still run on a separate ticket?
And if he does so, would you vote for him?
I'd love to know your thoughts.
