New Amendment Introduced to Eliminate Dr. Fauci’s Position To Prevent "Health Dictatorship"

This is your daily Facts Matter Update, and I'm your host, Roman, from the Epoch Times.
And now let's begin today's discussion by talking about Dr.
Fauci.
Just yesterday, during an interview over on CNBC, Dr.
Fauci made a statement in which he implied that Americans will need to take more and more COVID vaccines.
Here's specifically what Dr.
Fauci said after he was asked by the host about how many more shots will be needed.
The answer is, we don't know.
I mean, that's it.
It is likely that we're not done with this when it comes to vaccines.
Now, what's really interesting to note is that his comments, they dovetailed perfectly with the official line from Pfizer.
That's because just a single day before Dr.
Anthony Fauci made those comments, the head of Pfizer, Mr.
Albert Berla, well, he had an interview on CBS's Face the Nation, wherein he said this, quote, Variants are coming, and Omicron was the first one that was able to evade in a skillful way the immune protection that we were giving.
But also, the duration of the protection of the vaccines doesn't last very long.
So what we are trying to do, and we are working very diligently, is that we are trying to make a vaccine that will not only protect against all variants, including Omicron, but also something that can protect for at least a year.
At least a year.
To be frank with you, these comments were rather amazing to hear just for the fact that the vaccine, which was once labeled as something like a panacea by the media in this country, is now being openly discussed by the head of Pfizer as something that just doesn't last very long.
Regardless, in the interview, Mr.
Borla then continued to specifically discuss the fourth dose, meaning the second booster shot.
Here's what he said, quote, Right now, the protection that we are getting from the third shot, it is good enough.
Actually, quite good for hospitalizations and deaths.
But it's not that good against infections.
And it also doesn't last very long.
We have just submitted those data regarding the fourth shot to the FDA. Then we'll see what the experts will also say.
Now, I really want to highlight the change in messaging here.
Because about a year ago, when the vaccine rollout program was at its height, and when the vaccine mandates throughout the entire country were just beginning to go into effect, well, you already know what type of period of time that was.
Questioning anything regarding the vaccines would have you branded as a fringe conspiracy theorist.
Even when Joe Biden himself was publicly making claims like these, quote...
People vaccinated for COVID-19 do not spread the disease to anyone else.
Those comments, by the way, were made just four short months ago in December.
And you really couldn't question them when they were made, at least not on social media, because your posts will be flagged for promoting vaccine hesitancy and pushed down, if not outright removed.
And so, beyond these new comments from the CEO of Pfizer as well as from Dr.
Fauci, it was beyond interesting to watch an interview with Dr.
Rochelle Walensky, who is the current director of the CDC, and this interview came from about two weeks ago when she was visiting the Washington University School of Medicine, because in that interview, she explained how the messaging from the CDC might have come as a result of too little caution and too much optimism.
Here's what she said.
I think...
I can tell you where I was when the CNN feed came, that it was 95% effective, the vaccine.
So many of us wanted to be hopeful.
So many of us wanted to say, okay, this is our ticket out, right?
Now we're done.
So I think we had perhaps too little caution and too much optimism for some good things that came our way.
I really do.
I think all of us wanted this to be done.
Nobody said waning.
When, you know, this vaccine's going to work.
Oh, well, maybe it'll wear off.
Now, really consider her comments in light of the fact that tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their jobs due to the vaccine mandates that were rolled out, in large part due to the CDC's recommendations, as well as the amazing amount of businesses that were shut down due to the lockdowns, the strain on mental health, the rise in suicides and opioid deaths that were due to the lockdowns, again, due to the recommendations from the CDC, as well as from Dr.
Fauci.
It's kind of amazing if you think about it.
Regardless, there is now a push by federal lawmakers to prevent these types of situations from happening again.
For instance, Senator Rand Paul, he recently introduced a piece of legislation which would altogether eliminate Dr.
Fauci's position.
And in a prepared statement, Senator Rand Paul said that he's doing this, introducing this piece of legislation, because according to him, it's a necessary step to help prevent a health dictatorship.
Here's specifically what he said, quote, No one person should have unilateral authority to make decisions for millions of Americans.
One of my goals was to ensure that ineffective, unscientific lockdowns and mandates are never foisted on the American people ever again.
Now, what he's referencing there specifically is the fact that Dr.
Fauci advocated very strongly for strict lockdown measures during the pandemic, including things like shutting down quote-unquote non-essential businesses, as well as imposing forced masking on children.
Now, this particular piece of legislation that's being pushed by Senator Rand Paul, it was introduced as an amendment to the government funding bill, and if it gets adopted, it would effectively turn the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases into three separate institutes, with one focusing on allergic diseases, one focusing on infectious diseases, and one focusing on immunological diseases.
And so, the agency that Dr.
Fauci is currently the head of would effectively no longer exist as a single entity, and then Dr.
Fauci's current position, it would be replaced by three different directors, the three directors of those three new agencies, each of which would take a portion of the responsibilities that Dr.
Fauci currently has.
And then furthermore, these new directors, they would be appointed by the president, they would need to be confirmed by the Senate, and then they would only be able to serve a single five-year term.
And just for your reference, Dr.
Fauci himself, he was appointed to his current post during the presidency of Ronald Reagan, he was never confirmed by the Senate, and he has been in his position for the past 36 years.
However, according to Senator Rand Paul, this type of situation, wherein you have an unelected government official who remains in office for dozens of years, has become untenable.
Here's specifically what he said on this matter.
The amendment, if passed, will create accountability and oversight into a taxpayer-funded position that has largely abused this power and has been responsible for many failures and misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, we here at the Epoch Times, we did reach out to Dr.
Dr. Fauci's office for comment, but we have yet to hear back.
Regardless, if you'd like to read more about this new bill or anything related to the discussion of vaccine efficacy, I'll throw all those links into the description box below this video for you to check out.
And also, I should mention that about two days ago, we published a phenomenal episode of Facts Matter, wherein I sat down and I interviewed Dr. Peter Mercolo.
who is a cardiologist as well as the chief medical advisor for the Truth For Health Foundation.
And we discussed the astronomical, that's in his words, number of deaths following vaccination, as well as how the spike protein, at least according to new data, lingers in the body post vaccination and potentially weakens a person's immune system.
Now, for obvious reasons, this episode will not be on YouTube.
So you can find it over on Epic TV, which is our awesome no censorship video platform, where not only you can find this phenomenal episode, but also we had another interview with Dr.
Robert Malone, as well as a ton of other phenomenal content, even we have short movies and documentaries on there, that due to the...
The massive censorship that you're seeing on platforms like YouTube and others, well, we just cannot publish here.
I'll throw a link to both Epic TV as well as that interview with Dr.
Peter Mercolo.
It'll all be in the description box below this video for you to check out, which is that same little description box that is right below that like button, which I also hope you take a quick moment to smash.
All right, I want to take a super quick moment and introduce the sponsor of today's episode, which is a phenomenal company called American Hartford Gold.
They're actually my own personal gold and silver bullion dealer.
And so what I do, and what I've been doing for the last six years, is that I take this fake money, which is unfortunately being printed into oblivion by the people over in Washington, and I get myself one of these boxes from American Heart for Gold.
Let me show you.
Because what I believe, and by the way, I don't give you any financial advice, I just tell you what I do, is that, I mean, even before what happened between Russia and Ukraine, well, the price of goods across the country was skyrocketing, the price of gas was skyrocketing, and now with the conflict over in Eastern Europe, well, we're seeing what?
The stock market being tumultuous, the price of oils going to the moon, and...
We see gold and silver doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing, acting as hedges against all these issues.
So take a look at this.
These are some phenomenal coins.
I got some silver this month.
Look, some walking liberty U.S. dollars.
Beautiful.
I don't know if you can tell how shiny and nice they are.
Yeah, this is the real money right here.
And what you can do is that you can order these for yourself from American Heart for Gold.
They're a phenomenal company.
Great people, great staff.
If you call them, not only are they friendly to work with, but if they ever have to put you on hold, well, they have Ronald Reagan's speech playing as their waiting music, so I never even mind when they put me on hold.
And best of all, to our viewers, to viewers of Facts Matter, they have a promotion going on right now, where depending on how much you buy, they will throw in a free ounce of silver, a free ounce of silver for every ounce of gold that you buy.
So calling them is a no-brainer.
Give them a call at 866- 866-242-2352.
That's 866-242-2352.
Or you can text Roman to 65532.
And best of all, if you give them a short phone call, they can show you not only how you can get physical gold and silver delivered directly to your doorstep, but also how you can have it deposited directly into your 401k and your IRA accounts to make the entire thing super, super simple.
So give them a call.
The number is again, 866-242-2352.
Or you can just text the word Roman to 65532.
I'll throw all that into the description box below.
American Heart for Gold, thank you so much for sponsoring this episode.
I'm Roman in the studio.
Back to you.
Now, let's shift gears just a little bit.
While I was down in Florida about a week ago, I took the unique opportunity to sit down with Congressman Jody Heiss, and we discussed the best way forward for America to deal with both its external threats, like Russia and China, while at the same time controlling the, you can call it a ticking time bomb, that is our national debt.
Take a listen.
I'm Jody Heiss from Georgia's 10th Congressional District.
I've been four terms in Washington now, original member of the House Freedom Caucus, and currently I'm running to be the next Secretary of State in Georgia.
Because of their...
I think the 2020 election brought into focus a lot of the roles that the Secretary of State play in the state's election because typically those races are not even thought about too much but they've been brought to the forefront now.
Can you discuss a little bit about that aspect of it like the necessity of a Secretary of State in terms of the elections?
Yeah, I think that's a great point.
This is one of those offices I think the majority of people, myself included, really have always taken for granted until we had, like this last election, where all across the country there were problems in the election and all of a sudden the light came on for millions of Americans to realize that the Secretary of State are the ones who oversee elections.
And when we had such problems as we had in this last election, Georgia Massive problems we had.
We became keenly aware that this is a critical position.
You know, we're a country that's based upon the consent of the governed.
And that consent is primarily given at the ballot box.
And if ever that ballot box is compromised or violated, then we as a republic are in serious trouble.
And in Georgia, it was seriously compromised.
And I've been on the front line as a member of the Oversight Committee for two and a half years now fighting specifically H.R. 1, H.R. 2, a federal takeover.
Of our election processes and also involved with what's happening in Georgia.
So, you know, this is an issue of critical importance, not only the state of Georgia, but to this entire country as the radical left literally is trying to take over our election system.
So you mentioned HR1, which I always found fascinating because it seems like when you dig into the provision, not only the provisions within HR1, but also the narrative surrounding the voting integrity measures that are being passed in states like Texas.
I believe Georgia also had one recently, right?
Right.
When you dig into the narratives and you compare that to the facts, usually they don't align at all, right?
Like the narrative that voter ID laws and more stringent requirements of the ballot box disenfranchise certain individuals.
When you dig into those claims, it's almost always not true.
Why do you think that narrative persists despite that fact?
Well, listen, I mean, I'll just be straight up with you.
The only people who are opposed to voter ID laws are people who intend to cheat, right?
I mean, that's the only reason you would not want identification for voting.
And the same goes across.
George's SB202 that the General Assembly passed that you referenced is a good start in the right direction.
But you have Stacey Abrams and others who have been calling it, you know, voter suppression and all this sort of thing.
There's a voter suppression.
To me, at least, is when you have an illegal or fraudulent vote cast.
And that suppresses the vote of a legal vote.
That is voter suppression.
And the more we open wide the door to fraudulent voting activity, the more voter suppression we have.
And yet it's the Democrats, by and large, through H.R. 1, through H.R. 4, some of these other bills, who want to do away with every reasonable action to secure voter Voter integrity.
And it's just shameful to me.
And frankly, both sides of the aisle, I believe it's up in the 80% plus, want stronger voter identification when it comes to elections because I think for the most part, people in America understand the importance, the sacredness, if you will, of that ballot box.
I want to shift gears a little bit and discuss, since you're a congressman, I want to discuss what's happening in Ukraine.
So maybe setting aside for a moment what led up to the Russian invasion, moving forward, what do you think the best approach for the U.S. to take is moving forward in regards to Russia?
You know, we'll be back in D.C. tomorrow, so I'm sure a lot of discussions will Be very intense.
There will be many meetings and everything will be placed on the table and we'll start going from there.
I don't have any problems with sanctions, provided that they're genuine, authentic pain, if you will, inflicting sanctions against Russia.
I don't know that that's enough, though.
And the problem with sanctions, they tend to be very slow in producing the desired outcome.
And Putin right now is being extremely aggressive.
We have seen this coming for months and months and months.
The fact that this administration, number one, is so weak that Putin would even attempt such a thing.
We know this would never have happened had Trump been in the White House.
But number two, that they have been so slow in coming up with a strategy to deal with what we all knew was about to happen, has only allowed countries like China now to potentially zero in on Taiwan.
There's no question the rest of the world is watching.
Putin is doing this because of our weak leadership.
China and others are watching to see how we respond to And I'm sure they will have a reaction based upon the effectiveness of the response of the U.S. So hopefully the President will listen to some recommendations coming from Congress this next week and beyond.
But we've got to get this thing right.
Let me ask you this.
Is, in your opinion, is there any way that we can be punitive towards Putin and the Russian government without pushing Russia closer to the Chinese Communist Party?
Or do you think that ship has already sailed?
I tend to think that ship has already sailed, and I think the more NATO nations align in opposition to Putin, the more likely that alliance with China is going to become more firmed up.
Obviously, we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.
There is the possibility that China begins to distance themselves if Putin is not successful or if he is deemed being ineffective.
I mean, here's a supposed superpower really struggling right now to have a victory over Ukraine, which no one has ever considered a major military threat.
And so it could be that China wants to distance themselves.
So there's a couple of different options that potentially could play out, and we'll have to wait and see in the next coming weeks exactly what happens.
Last topic.
The national debt, it crossed the $30 trillion mark about a month and a half ago.
However, if you take into account unfunded liabilities, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Pensions for government officials as well as military.
I've seen estimates of $160 trillion.
What is the hope for that?
Because we're talking about external threats, Russia, China, things like that.
But this is, from a certain perspective, a ticking time bomb.
Is there any hope of addressing this?
I know the Republicans are set to win the election come this midterm election, at least in the House.
Some people are even suggesting the Senate as well.
Do you believe that they have the political will to tackle this type of a problem?
I hope.
You know, there's been many of us in the Freedom Caucus been pushing for fiscal responsibility for a long time and basically have gotten nowhere.
My experience now in four terms basically is you have two groups that are addicted to spending money, and that's the Democrats and the Republicans.
I mean, even the Republicans, when we had control, did not physically exercise responsibility with the taxpayers' money.
I hope that has changed.
I hope that $30 trillion and $160 trillion, which is astronomical numbers.
I mean, you're talking numbers that we can't even fathom the impact that that has on the American family.
But we have crossed a point that cannot be ignored anymore.
We must get our financial house in order.
This is not only an economic issue.
It is a national security issue.
It is an issue that impacts every one of our lives and our liberties.
If we lose economic liberties because we have to go into some restraining process to try to help the situation, then our other liberties likewise are in jeopardy.
I hope that we've learned some major lessons, and as the Republicans, I believe we'll take control of this next Congress.
I sincerely hope, and I get the sense, I do get the sense, that the political will is there to address some of these issues.
I certainly hope that'll be the case.
Now, that was not the full interview.
If you'd like to watch that interview in its entirety, you can do so over on EpicTV, which is, again, our no-censorship video platform, where you can find not only the full interview with Jody Heiss, but also that other interview with Dr.
Peter McCullough.
It is all phenomenal content, at least in my opinion.
The links to it all will be down in the description box below.
And also, if you click on that link and you use promo code Roman, you can get a 14-day free trial so you don't even have to pay.
You can watch those interviews.
And then if you like it after 14 days, you can continue your subscription.
But you are under no obligation to do it.
Again, that link will be down in the description box below.
And then in closing, I'd like to mention something else.
We've been converting our Facts Matter episodes into podcast form so you can listen to it over on things like Apple Podcasts as well as on Spotify.
And they seem to be doing relatively well.
In fact, I pulled up the data just a few days ago.
And on Apple Podcasts, under the news commentary category, we are currently number 64 in the U.S.
So that's not bad for a podcast that only recently launched.
So check it out.
If you listen to Apple Podcasts, you can subscribe there.
And also, by the way, on these podcast platforms, they don't have a like button.
And so the best way, if you'd like to support it, is to leave a five-star review or any star review, but ideally a five-star review.
And to leave a quick review of the podcast.
It helps a ton with those particular algorithms.
So I'll also throw a link to the podcast, both the Apple Podcasts as well as the Spotify platform.
It'll all be down in the description box below.
Hope you check it out and support the channel there.
Because honestly, if anything ever happens here on YouTube, it's great to be diversified into all these other platforms as well.
Again, all those links will be down in the description box below.
And then, until next time, I'm your host, Roman from the Epoch Times.
