Epoch Times - Joe Biden is Here to Tell You If You’re Black Enough | Larry Elder Aired: 2021-01-14 Duration: 14:12 === Black Voice, Black Choice (02:04) === [00:00:03] Some people can't tell if black people are black enough. [00:00:07] Fortunately, there's Joe Biden. [00:00:10] But I tell it, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump and you ain't black. [00:00:15] It don't have nothing to do with Trump. [00:00:17] It has to do with the fact I want something for my community. [00:00:20] What? [00:00:21] Did he just say? [00:00:24] But I tell it, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump and you ain't black. [00:00:29] I think the vice president misrepresented what the vice president wanted to say. [00:00:33] Hours later, Mr. [00:00:35] Biden expressed regrets. [00:00:38] In a call with the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce this afternoon, Biden said he should not have been so cavalier. [00:00:45] The last thing I want to do, and I shouldn't have been such a wise guy, I shouldn't have been so cavalier in responding to what I thought was, anyway, it was, I don't take it for granted at all, and no one No one should have to vote for any party based on their race, their religion, their background. [00:01:05] No, you see, Joe is down with the cause. [00:01:08] Just because you're black doesn't mean you're black if you're not really black. [00:01:13] You know. [00:01:15] If you are not prepared to come to that table and to represent that voice, don't come. [00:01:22] Because we don't need any more brown faces that don't want to be a brown voice. [00:01:28] We don't need black faces that don't want to be a black voice. [00:01:31] We don't need Muslims that don't want to be a Muslim voice. [00:01:34] We don't need queers that don't want to be a queer voice. [00:01:36] And if you're worried about being marginalized and stereotyped, please don't even show up. [00:01:42] This is from a website that collects stories from young people. [00:01:45] This is from a young black teenager who was taunted as being an Oreo. [00:01:50] As in brown on the outside, white on the inside. === Why Are You an Oreo? (11:07) === [00:01:54] Gabby, why are you such an Oreo? [00:01:56] One of the girls in my 8th grade class asked out of the blue. [00:02:00] An Oreo is a term that is used to describe black people who act in ways that are not stereotypically associated with black culture. [00:02:08] They are labeled as being white on the inside, black on the outside. [00:02:14] I was a goody two-shoes and one of the highest achieving kids in the class, so other kids called me Oreo too. [00:02:20] I enjoyed reading fantasy novels and Edgar Allan Poe. [00:02:23] After I switched schools to one that was more diverse, I was never referred to as Oreo again. [00:02:30] I think those girls called me an Oreo because they didn't know that the stereotypes of what black girls are like are far from the truth. [00:02:38] There is no one way to be black. [00:02:41] There is only one way to be yourself. [00:02:44] And in the eighth grade, I had not realized that yet." And some white people can't tell whether somebody's black or African American. [00:02:54] I think that, listen, I think that she's got a lot of strengths here. [00:02:57] She is. [00:02:58] She's got a bio. [00:02:59] She's got a record. [00:03:00] She's a prosecutor with a heart. [00:03:01] She's got a lot to deal with keeping people out of recidivism. [00:03:04] Is she seen as African American? [00:03:06] Is she seen as African American? [00:03:07] Is the organization that she pulls up? [00:03:09] Yes, I think she's seen as African American. [00:03:11] The fact she was at Howard University today, One of the oldest. [00:03:14] They call themselves the oldest. [00:03:15] I went to Morehouse. [00:03:16] I think we're a little bit older. [00:03:17] But she's at Howard University today when she did her announcement at a press conference. [00:03:23] She's going to South Carolina in the first week. [00:03:25] Yes. [00:03:26] She's really planting her feet in the African American community. [00:03:29] I think she's going to be a very strong candidate. [00:03:32] Went to Howard? [00:03:33] So therefore she's black? [00:03:35] Don't laugh. [00:03:36] You know, you can go into Howard White and come out black. [00:03:39] Ask Rachel Dolezal. [00:03:41] More new developments in the Rachel Dolezal case. [00:03:44] Documents published online today show that she has a long history of claiming discrimination, but not always as an African American. [00:03:52] In a case filed more than a decade ago, Dolezal said she was targeted not because she was black, but because she was white. [00:04:02] You've sent mixed signals over the years. [00:04:04] Are you an African American woman? [00:04:07] I identify as black. [00:04:09] Now, this gentleman, also known as Joe Biden's old boss, also said there's no one way to be black. [00:04:14] In fact, he was attacked for not being black enough by his former Congressional House opponent, Bobby Rush, who's still in Congress as we speak. [00:04:23] Obama said,"...when Congressman Rush and his allies attack me for going to Harvard and teaching at the University of Chicago, they are sending a signal to black kids that if you're well-educated, somehow you're not keeping it real." Be confident in your blackness. [00:04:45] One of the great changes that's occurred in our country since I was your age is the realization there's no one way to be black. [00:04:57] Oh, Stewardess, I speak jive. [00:04:59] Oh, good. [00:05:00] He said that he's in great pain and he wants to know if you can help him. [00:05:05] All right. [00:05:05] Would you tell him to just relax and I'll be back as soon as I can with some medicine. [00:05:12] Just hang loose blood. [00:05:14] She gonna catch up on the rebound on the med side. [00:05:16] What it is, big mama. [00:05:17] My mama gonna raise no dummies. [00:05:18] And some whites just head to their bets, you know, cover their bases. [00:05:32] This is the full exchange with the host, Charlemagne, who asked him about his record with African Americans and was pressing him on having a woman of color, an African American, as his running mate. [00:05:45] Let's watch. [00:05:46] What? [00:05:47] Did you catch that? [00:05:50] Listen to it again. [00:05:51] This is the full exchange with the host, Charlemagne, who asked him about his record with African Americans and was pressing him on having a woman of color, an African American, as his running mate. [00:06:04] Let's watch. [00:06:05] Did you see the graphic? [00:06:07] So we have two African Americans and one woman of color. [00:06:11] Fortunately, we also have Joe Biden. [00:06:15] Bang! [00:06:16] Wall Street. [00:06:20] They're gonna put y'all back in chains. [00:06:24] I mean, if you're white, what do you do? [00:06:32] African-American, people of color, black! [00:06:37] And I saw a man run down the block. [00:06:39] Can you describe it? [00:06:41] Well, he was, uh... [00:06:42] Yeah? [00:06:43] He was, uh... [00:06:44] Black? [00:06:45] He happened to be black. [00:06:48] I'm sorry. [00:06:49] Next time we'll be white. [00:06:51] Maybe Chinese. [00:06:53] Fortunately, there's Joe Biden. [00:06:56] I mean, you got the first sort of mainstream frickin' American who was articulate and bright and clean and nice-looking guy. [00:07:08] I mean, that's a storybook, man. [00:07:11] I mean, some white people are just perplexed. [00:07:16] Joining me now to talk about this and the nation's real problem of joblessness, the Reverend Al Sharpton. [00:07:21] What's your reaction to hearing someone say, you know, when it comes to income inequality, all's well. [00:07:27] The rising tide floats all boats. [00:07:31] I'm Reverend Jesse Jackson. [00:07:34] Right. [00:07:34] You know, I'm so sorry. [00:07:36] The script in front of me said, Reverend Al Sharpton, I'm looking at your face. [00:07:39] I know who you are, Reverend Jackson. [00:07:40] We all do. [00:07:41] I'm sorry. [00:07:44] Fortunately, there's Joe Biden. [00:07:47] We have this notion that somehow if you're poor, you cannot do it. [00:07:51] Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids. [00:07:56] Wealthy kids, black kids, Asian kids. [00:07:59] Think how we think about it. [00:08:02] And some people couldn't care less about racial political correctness. [00:08:08] Konnichiwa's Japanese. [00:08:10] It's insulting to Koreans. [00:08:12] How am I supposed to tell if you can? [00:08:13] What's that supposed to mean, white boy? [00:08:16] It means you've got eyes like apostrophes. [00:08:18] You dress white, talk black, and drive Jews. [00:08:20] So how am I supposed to know what kind of zipper-head dog-munching dink you are if you don't? [00:08:25] Confused? [00:08:26] Fortunately, there's Joe Biden. [00:08:28] - Hello, Benish. [00:08:30] - Benish, how are you? [00:08:31] - Well, good to see you. [00:08:33] As you know, I've got a lot of support from you, Sydney. [00:08:36] - That's where... - I've had more to come, I think. [00:08:39] - No, I've had a great relationship. [00:08:41] In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans moving from India. [00:08:46] You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. [00:08:54] I'm not joking. [00:08:56] I think the vice president misrepresented what the vice president wanted to say. [00:08:59] Even blacks don't know what to call blacks who think they are black but are not necessarily perceived as being black by other blacks or by other African Americans. [00:09:09] Number one, what does black enough mean? [00:09:11] Can someone give me a definition of what black enough is? [00:09:15] I don't want to go down the road of the stereotype when people say we're black. [00:09:18] Number one, she is a black woman. [00:09:20] She's a mixed race woman. [00:09:21] When you see her, you see her blackness. [00:09:24] But she is also South Asian. [00:09:25] Her mom is South Asian and her dad is Jamaican. [00:09:28] April, April, April. [00:09:29] Let me listen. [00:09:30] More power to her. [00:09:32] And I think it's great. [00:09:33] That should be enough. [00:09:36] Listen, it is enough that she's a black woman. [00:09:37] We are not a model. [00:09:38] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. [00:09:40] They did the same thing. [00:09:41] No, no, no, no, no. [00:09:42] I think you're not hearing what people are saying. [00:09:45] The people who are saying, is she black enough? [00:09:47] That's bull. [00:09:47] That's BS. [00:09:48] But to want a distinction to say, is she African-American or is she black or is she whatever? [00:09:58] There is nothing wrong with that. [00:10:00] There is a difference between being African-American and being black. [00:10:04] Latino people are people of color, but they're not black. [00:10:09] They're brown people. [00:10:10] She is a woman of color, but she is a black woman. [00:10:12] I agree with that. [00:10:14] I agree with that, but is she African-American? [00:10:17] No, no, no, no, no. [00:10:18] But is she African-American? [00:10:19] There's a difference. [00:10:20] There's nothing wrong with that. [00:10:21] No one is trying to take anything away from her. [00:10:24] Let's go down into her lineage. [00:10:24] I think you're falling into a trap of that. [00:10:27] All she had to do was say, I am black, but I'm not African-American. [00:10:30] That's it. [00:10:34] And then there's Joe Biden. [00:10:37] This election year, the choice is clear. [00:10:40] One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. [00:10:44] A man I'm proud to call my friend. [00:10:47] A man who will be the next president of the United States, Barack America. [00:10:53] Some blacks don't want to be called African American, even though other blacks call them African American. [00:11:00] I love being black. [00:11:02] I love being called black. [00:11:04] I love being an American. [00:11:07] I love being a black American. [00:11:08] And some whites, under certain circumstances, prefer to be black or African-American, at least temporarily. [00:11:16] What are you doing here? [00:11:23] I'm getting bad. [00:11:24] You better get bad, Jack, because you ain't bad. [00:11:27] You're going to get. [00:11:28] You're bad. [00:11:29] They don't mess with you. [00:11:33] Hey, home. [00:11:34] Get down. [00:11:34] Hey. [00:11:37] You're a little too bad, aren't you? [00:11:40] Fortunately, there's Joe Biden. [00:11:44] And by the way, you know, I sit on the stand and it get hot. [00:11:47] I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. [00:11:56] And the kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and then watch the hair come back up again. [00:12:05] They'd look at it. [00:12:06] So I learned about roaches. [00:12:07] I learned about kids jumping on my lap. [00:12:09] And I've loved kids jumping on my lap. [00:12:12] I mean, you'd have to ask Senator Biden what he was saying. [00:12:18] Finally, who needs Joe You Ain't Black Biden when we have Chris Don't Call Me Fredo Cuomo. [00:12:26] Remember what he said? [00:12:29] I thought that's who you were. [00:12:30] My name is Chris Cuomo. [00:12:34] I'm an anchor on CNN. Fredo is from the Godfather. [00:12:38] He was our weak brother. [00:12:39] And they used it as an Italian dispersion. [00:12:41] Any of you Italian? [00:12:44] It's a insult to your people. === History Of The Democratic Party (01:26) === [00:12:46] It's an insult to your people. [00:12:48] It's like the N-word for us. [00:12:50] Now this daredevil has come up with an ingenious way to determine who is really black enough. [00:12:56] Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Rex Kramer, danger seeker. [00:13:01] Fredo! [00:13:21] Say what the fuck is that damn b****! [00:13:23] Who needs Joe Biden? [00:13:29] Now remember, my documentary Uncle Tom comes out on June 19th. [00:13:34] Go to UncleTom.com. [00:13:35] Check out three trailers. [00:13:37] Here's one. [00:13:38] Most people are completely oblivious to the history of the Democratic Party. [00:13:41] The party of slavery. [00:13:42] The history of the Democratic Party. [00:13:44] Jim Crow laws. [00:13:44] They're erasing them. [00:14:09] I'm Larry Elder, and we've got a country to save.
