Our top story today from thegatewaypundit.com breaking news United Healthcare CEO was fatally shot in the back and chest outside of a hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
We have the graphic video and all the details for you here on the Gateway Pundit's Weekend Review.
My name is Elijah Schaefer and this is the Weekend Review.
We cover the top five stories of the last 24 hours.
Our top story today, Jordan Conradson reports the United Healthcare CEO, which is known for not only not fulfilling claims, but also for paying their CEOs exorbitant profits while they continue to screw over their customers, was fatally shot in the chest outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
We have the graphic video for you.
Viewer discretion is advised.
Now, United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot in the chest Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan in what is believed to be a targeted attack.
Thompson, 50 years old, arrived before 7 a.m. for a conference when he was shot at multiple times by a masked man who police say was waiting for him to arrive.
The New York Post reported.
Now we have the footage for you here.
I do want to remind you that this is an act of assassination.
While there is no blood visible, it is and does show somebody getting killed.
So viewer discretion is advised.
watch so after shooting him one time he shoots him in the chest He falls to the ground.
It looks like he has to load another bullet into the chamber and then shoots him multiple times at close range.
Now, some of the reasons why this may have happened, and again, I'm not a gun expert, but I believe that there might have been some sort of a smaller concentration of powder because he was maybe using some sort of a bullet.
I've used a silencer before and the bullets were different that we used with them.
They weren't as loud.
It might sound dumb saying this, but that's what I remember happening.
And so sometimes it's hard for the bullets to actually reload.
So you got to manually pull on the gun and get the bullet loaded.
That's what happened.
That same thing happened to me when I used a silencer one time.
Again, I'm not a gun expert, so I'm going to sound stupid to people, but I don't think it was a single shot gun.
I think it was semi-automatic, but it's something to do with the silencer not working well with the handgun.
If you're an expert on guns and you can clarify on exactly what happened there, please let me know.
But that's not the whole point of the story.
I just wanted to clarify that for people wondering what was happening.
Thompson was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital and no suspects are in custody.
Police are looking for a white male with a cream-colored jacket, black and white sneakers, and a gray backpack.
The shooter was not a guest at the hotel and was seen near the hotel prior to the shooting.
When the suspect spotted Thompson, he began to fire from a distance, striking him multiple times, police sources added.
The masked man then fled through the Ziegfield alleyway and hopped on a bike to flee the scene.
Thompson, who has worked with United Healthcare for the last 20 years, took the role of CEO for United Health in 2021.
He previously served as the company's head of government programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, and retirement.
Now, this is a developing story.
Now, one of the main things that people pointed out is this obviously was an assassination.
This was not a random murder.
This was a targeted attack.
Not only the fact that it was a white person committing the crime, which, you know, white people aren't typically committing random acts of senseless murder.
When they do murder, it's usually out of spite, hatred, or out of financial gain.
So it's like a business partner or a spouse.
So I don't think there's any evidence that shows this was a love triangle gone wrong.
If anything, it shows that there might have been something else going on here.
Perhaps it had to do with a claim that was lost for a loved one or because they knew where he was going to be without security.
This could have been competition or even someone in the company that was mad at him after getting screwed over for a promotion or something differently.
When we have more details, we will inform you as, of course, this stuff is still developing.

Now, that being said, in other news, a new report.
Ron DeSantis eyed to replace Hagseth as Defense Secretary in major cabinet shakeup.
According to a report, President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering replacing his embattled pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.
This follows Trump and DeSantis' attendance at Memorial for Fallen Law Enforcement Officers on Tuesday in Florida.
Far left CBS News senior White House editorial O'Keefe echoed this report, stating, Two sources familiar with the transition tell CBS News that Aaron Navarro and me, the president, elect Trump, is considering naming Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his pick for defense secretary.
He would replace embattled Fox News host Pete Hegseth.
Hagseth has faced allegations of past sexual and workplace misconduct, which have come to light in recent news reports.
Two sources familiar with the transition team tell CBS and Aaron Navarro and me that President Trump is considering Ron DeSantis.
Hagseth, a decorated Army veteran and former Fox News host, has come under intense scrutiny over allegations of financial impropriety and personal misconduct, casting doubts on his ability to gain Senate confirmation.
Reports indicate that at least six Senate rhinos have expressed reservations about supporting Hagseth's nomination.
Below, the rhinos who reportedly won't be committing to vote for him, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, John Curtis, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and John Thune.
Now, amidst the ability to salvage his nomination, Hagseth has been actively engaging with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill, discussing critical defense issues like the Department of Defense recruitment crisis, acquisition reform, and national security.
Despite the significant challenges, Hagseth recently tweeted about a productive meeting with Senator Ted Budd of North Carolina, highlighting his ongoing attempts to rally support.
At a productive meeting with Senator Ted Budd, discussing priorities like the DOD recruitment crisis, acquisition reform, and the defense of our homeland.
Thankful for the senator's advice in the process.
Now, going down here, it says that more from GOP senators, Pete knows that the Defense Secretary's job is to empower the men and women of our military to carry out their patriotic duty, not consign them to serve as political pawns in a broke Washington.
Enjoyed catching up with longstanding friend Pete Hegseth and offering my help during his confirmation process for Secretary of Defense.
The Pentagon needs shaking up.
The status quo is dangerous.
Now, obviously, we know that Pete Hegseth and Matt Gates was the swamp's least desirable picks.
Now, the reason why these senators often go for this is not only are they sexually blackmailed, which is unfortunate.
And I don't think it's just sex.
I think it might also be with minors, right?
We know that when it comes down to Jeffrey Epstein and his blackmail of so many politicians, possibly including Lindsey Graham, these people definitely are blackmailed.
They don't act like this unless there's something looming over their heads.
But if they do act like this, it's because we live in a rigged primary system where individuals ensure that only people who are loyal to Israel and loyal to the military-industrial complex are able to run against each other in the primaries.
So whether or not a Republican or a Democrat often wins in certain districts, it doesn't really matter in the Senate or the Congress because those people will be loyal to foreign countries and foreign wars.
And a lot of Republicans aren't willing to accept that.
And I understand because it seems like maybe you're taught in your churches or other places that that's not how it is.
But the reality is the game is fixed.
And we have a problem here.
We hope Pete Hegseth is able to get confirmation.
And again, we disagree even on foreign war policy, but I do think that he would at least change our military from being woke so we'd stop dropping gay bombs in other countries.
Maybe we'd only be dropping real ones.
Additionally, Joe Rogan explains how Kamala Harris's choice of Tim Wallace as a running mate got him on the Trump train.
Check this out.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan claimed that he initially did not want to get involved in the 2024 presidential race, but was driven to do so in part because of Kamala Harris choosing Tim Wallace as her running mate.
Rogan brings up the fact that Wallace lied about so many things like his military service, his role as a football coach, and his time in China.
Rogan's argument makes perfect sense as to why anyone who was paying attention did not want to vote for Kamala Harris.
Waltz often came off as a crazy person.
Now, many people don't believe then don't understand that to the average centrist or someone in the middle, you know, voting for somebody like Tim Waltz seemed like a good idea until it came up the fact that he didn't tell the truth about anything about his past.
In fact, he lied so blatantly, one can only wonder, why was it that he was chosen?
Was there also blackmail over him?
Well, Joe Rogan expresses this directly in a recent episode, Watch.
Well, I wanted to stay out of the presidential election shit.
That was gross because I feel like I had to.
I feel like this is so nuts.
unidentified
This is so nuts.
When that Tim Waltz guy, that guy's, it's so nuts that that guy was going to be the vice president.
You're telling me, you're telling me this whole thing's fake then.
elijah schaffer
You're telling me you don't care if someone's a liar.
You don't care if they lied about their military rank, where they served.
You don't care if they lie about being a cystic.
You don't care if they lie about Tiananmen Square.
There's too many things.
This is so crazy.
unidentified
You would get fired if you were an assistant manager at a fucking oil changing company.
elijah schaffer
Well, I wanted to stay out of the presidential election shit.
Yeah, no, I think it's kind of funny, though, that like, you know, Joe Rogan is sort of geared up to be this man.
And he's like, I just want to stay out of the presidential election.
You know, I just want to stay out of the most important things that are going on in the country.
You know, I'm a real man.
I have guns and I live in a mansion, but I don't want to get involved in the political process, which unfortunately is the most important decision that a lot of men are able to make in their entire lives, other than maybe getting married.
I do know he's married.
I know he has, does he have kids?
Yeah, he has kids and stuff.
So I mean, he's a good man, right?
And he's been a common sense individual.
What I have noticed, though, is that, you know, getting on the Trump train really came down to a matter of whether you wanted a totalitarian country or whether you wanted to live in a nation where people made common sense.
Sometimes it's hard for people like myself who have drifted so much into the right wing that maybe we don't even understand why people are liberal anymore or why people are centrists like this.
But I do think try to understand for when I'm on shows like this, why certain individuals would not want to get involved in the presidential election.
And the truth was, is it was incredibly nasty and the fighting was unheard of.
It was truly insane.

Anyway, speaking of other stories, Biden's parting gift to bureaucrats.
Biden regime grants protections and secures permanent telework for 42,000 social security bureaucrats until after President Trump leaves office.
Jim Hoff reports.
As the Biden regime prepares to exit, it has orchestrated a move as a cunning attempt to undermine the incoming Trump administration's agenda to streamline government operations.
In a last-minute deal, the Biden regime has locked in a total network protection for 42,000 Social Security Administration employees until 2029.
The agreement reached with the American Federation of Government Employees ensures remote work privileges for these federal workers for the next five years, despite the Trump administration's explicit plans to slash such arrangements, according to Bloomberg.
The agreement brokered between the American Federation of Government Employees and the Social Security Administration was authorized by outgoing SSA Commissioner Martin O'Malley and codifies existing telework policies, limiting management's ability to impose stricter in-office requirements.
Rick Couture, president of AFGE chapter, defended the decision, noting that it will secure not just the network or telework for SSA employees, but also staffing levels through prevention of higher attrition, which in turn will secure the agency's ability to serve the public.
The Trump transition team did not provide a direct comment on the union's actions.
Under President Trump's leadership, the government efficiency effort led by Vivek and Elon will target waste and fraud throughout our massive federal bureaucracy, spokesperson Brian Hughes said.
They will work together slashing excess regulations, cutting wasteful expenditures, and restructuring federal agencies.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy tapped Trump to head the newly elected Department of Government Efficiency have made it clear that dismantling bloated federal work policies is a top priority.
Both men penned a blistering op-ed in the Wall Street Journal last week suggesting that mandatory in-office attendance could naturally trim the federal workforce.
The op-ed read, President Trump has asked the two of us to lead a newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to cut the federal government down to size.
The entrenched and ever-growing bureaucracy represents an existential threat to our republic, and politicians have abetted it for too long.
That's why we're doing things differently.
We are entrepreneurs, not politicians.
We will serve as outside volunteers, not federal officials or employees.
Unlike government commissioners or advisory committees, we won't just write reports or cut ribbons.
We'll cut costs.
We are assisting the Trump transition team to identify and hire a lean team of small government crusaders, including some of the sharpest technical and legal minds in America.
This team will work with the new administration closely with the White House Office of Management and Budget, and the two of us will advise Doge at every step to pursue three major kinds of reform, regulatory recessions, administrative reductions, and cost savings.
We will focus particularly on driving change through the executive action based on existing legislative rather than passing new laws.
Now, obviously, we see this time and time again that right before the new president comes in, the lame duck president pardons people like his son and his allies, and then, of course, does what?
Tries to sabotage the budget fixing that Trump wants to do.
They're trying to sabotage the administration.
I don't know about you, but that's absolutely insane.
Now, our last story today that is quite interesting.
Elon Musk says, yes, Social Security is a disaster.
A better answer is Australia's superannuation program.
Oh, I don't care.
I don't like Australia's super.
You know, like somebody reminds you that their wife's a doctor, as people know.
I've lived in and out of the last couple of years.
I was doing this show out of Australia.
And, you know, I don't know if I really like their program, but listen to this.
The solvency of the U.S. Social Security program has been discussed for years.
The answer is Australia's superannuation program.
Social Security and Medicare are underfunded by $175 trillion, and the nightmare arrives.
In 2014, I published my first book, Falling Eagle.
And he goes on to explain that the biggest problem on the table is the massive amount of unfunded liabilities that were being created under the Biden regime.
Below, he writes the entire timestamp.
