Slightly Offensive - Elijah Schaffer - R.I.P. HOLLYWEIRD Aired: 2020-01-14 Duration: 19:35 === Hollywood's Woke Trouble (15:39) === [00:00:00] Do you have any advice for a young girl moving to Hollywood? [00:00:04] Um, I'll get my legs ahead. [00:00:08] Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party and then four seasons go down. [00:00:19] Welcome back to the Daily Dose with your favorite gay black woman, me, Elijah Schaefer. [00:00:23] Some of you guys wondered if I'm a gay black woman any longer. [00:00:26] And while I was kind of done with it, apparently you guys were not. [00:00:30] So I am resurrecting my transracial identity for the time being. [00:00:34] And so you guys can all just celebrate. [00:00:36] Anyway, today I'm joined in the studio for our first ever co-hosting of A Daily Dose with the fellow YouTuber and content creator Kronxan. [00:00:44] Welcome to the Daily Dose. [00:00:45] Oh, thank you for having me. [00:00:46] Yeah, you look absolutely stunning as always. [00:00:48] Anyway, before we go any further, I want to let you know that YouTube magically unsubscribes people. [00:00:54] So they go, well, hey, people, you watch this show, you watch our podcast, you watch our street videos, whatever you like. [00:01:01] They've decided that if you watch our show, that means that you probably don't want to get subscribed anymore. [00:01:05] So then they remove you from our list. [00:01:08] And so we've had to ask people to please check that you are still subscribed by clicking the button below. [00:01:12] And then if you haven't subscribed, hey, support us and continue to support the work we do by clicking that button and turning the notification bell on. [00:01:19] Well, anyways, let's get into the topic for today. [00:01:22] So Hollywood is basically dead because they're no longer woke enough for themselves. [00:01:28] Whether it's Kevin Spacey killing his victims. [00:01:30] By the way, Kevin Spacey is actually responsible pretty much for about four deaths of people who've accused him of sexual assault. [00:01:37] Whether it's the fact that Hollywood is not black enough, Hollywood just is not woke enough for itself. [00:01:43] It's not. [00:01:44] And Hollywood has actually been dying for a long time. [00:01:46] We saw, you know, just over the years, some different things where you go, wow, these people are not woke. [00:01:53] They are bigots. [00:01:55] Yeah, they are bigots. [00:01:57] And, yeah, we just, now there's a few stories out today that sort of... [00:02:01] It's really heartbreaking what we're about to get into, right? [00:02:04] Yes. [00:02:04] I would say on top of this, this is really difficult to read. [00:02:08] Apparently, Hollywood's going through some trouble. [00:02:10] So between being some of the richest and most privileged people in the entire world, there's some heartbreaking news about our favorite community of leaders of thought. [00:02:20] This article comes out from The Blaze and on the brink of having the Academy Award nominations, it's titled that Hollywood Spews Outrage. [00:02:27] So you know you've got to pay attention. [00:02:28] Anytime you see Hollywood before outrage, it's important. [00:02:30] They're upset. [00:02:31] We need to listen. [00:02:32] Yeah. [00:02:33] We've got to listen to what they're going to say. [00:02:35] Hollywood Spews Outrage goes into crisis mode over the lack of woke Oscar nominations for women, people of color, and it's largely non-inclusive. [00:02:43] So the article by Sarah Taylor on The Blaze says that Hollywood is outraged after discovering that the majority of Oscar nominations are going to male-dominated projects, excluding many women and people of color. [00:02:55] What are the details? [00:02:56] Joker, a breakout hit, received 11 nominations, including a best actor nod for Joaquin Phoenix, who portrayed Joker. [00:03:01] Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also received 10 Oscar nominations, as did 1917 and the Netflix hit Irishman. [00:03:08] All five nominees for best director are men. [00:03:11] However, the Academy said that the 2020 was a record-breaking year for women, with a stunning 62 women being nominated across all award categories. [00:03:19] According to the New York Times, British Nigerian actress Cynthia Arrivo was the sole black nominee for her work in Harriet. [00:03:25] Arrivo also received a nominee for Stand-Up, a song she wrote for the film. [00:03:29] Spanish-born actor Antonio Benderis was a best actor nomination for Pain and Glory. [00:03:33] But even though there were 62 nominations, that apparently wasn't enough for Hollywood's trade publications, who have all spoken out in outrage. [00:03:39] So I'm heartbroken by this. [00:03:41] I don't know about you, but this is devastating. [00:03:43] Absolutely. [00:03:43] This just goes to show that they are not actually choosing or nominating people based on their performance. [00:03:51] It's clearly gender because they hate women. [00:03:54] They only want to pick men. [00:03:56] And they just go, all these women who are just making incredible films. [00:04:02] Like Charlie's Angels 2 or 3, whatever it was. [00:04:04] Mind-blowing. [00:04:05] Ghostbusters removed. [00:04:06] Wow. [00:04:07] This is like, just like, it's pop culture and it's like. [00:04:11] Yeah, this is true, right? [00:04:12] You're really seeing this. [00:04:13] Like, they probably chose all the men because they're white and men. [00:04:17] Not because Joker was an incredible movie. [00:04:18] No. [00:04:20] Not because Irish Mean was an incredible movie. [00:04:23] Charlie's Angels wins. [00:04:24] Yeah, but and everyone can see that. [00:04:27] Everyone can see that. [00:04:28] Who would think that hiring the actress from the children's vampire movies, what were the Twilight, would not be a good movie. [00:04:35] Her expressions, the way that she acts, it's just incredible. [00:04:39] She can play so many different characters that aren't all depressed, sad, miserable people. [00:04:45] It's just like, she's just Kristen Stewart. [00:04:48] Kristen Stewart's so good. [00:04:49] But look, this is an article from the Hollywood Reporter, which is a really reliable source. [00:04:52] Hollywood is, of course, mad at themselves. [00:04:54] It says here that women are once again left out in the best director category for the 2020 Oscars. [00:04:59] So there's 62 women nominated for awards in Hollywood. [00:05:02] 62 women, but that's not enough because there's some categories. [00:05:05] Wait, how many nominations are there all together? [00:05:08] I don't, I didn't do, and this show doesn't have the budget to do that kind of research. [00:05:12] Okay. [00:05:13] This is a daily show. [00:05:13] I don't have so much time to research. [00:05:15] It really is true. [00:05:16] But I was saying that the point is that they are mad because women aren't nominated. [00:05:20] Essentially what they're mad about, they want women and people of color to win every award. [00:05:24] That's their ultimate goal. [00:05:25] Like if you saw in the Miss America, Miss Universe, Miss Teen USA, they were all. [00:05:31] They've all been black women. [00:05:32] So then why isn't it translating? [00:05:35] Well, that's what diversity means to these people. [00:05:37] Right. [00:05:38] Oscars to be diverse means they don't want white men to win. [00:05:41] No white men. [00:05:42] And no men. [00:05:43] They don't want white or straight or men to win. [00:05:46] Woke to them just means less white people, less men, less straight people. [00:05:51] It doesn't matter. [00:05:51] It doesn't feel like I live in North Africa. [00:05:55] That's how I want to. [00:05:56] Yeah, this is like, what is the Nigerian awards? [00:05:58] I mean, legitimately speaking, these people are whack. [00:06:01] But you know what's really interesting? [00:06:02] Speaking of not being woke enough, do you know how woke this week is? [00:06:06] So Obama, you remember Obama got a deal with Netflix? [00:06:10] Yeah. [00:06:11] What a character. [00:06:13] You know, the interesting thing about that is to go from being like president in politics, you've got to be a good actor and a good person who can really manipulate things and create scenarios. [00:06:24] So it's no surprise that Netflix was like, this is the guy who's going to do something. [00:06:30] Yeah, you fooled America for eight years pretending to be a good president. [00:06:32] We need him. [00:06:33] We need him. [00:06:34] This is a good, that's a good point. [00:06:35] So no surprise here. [00:06:36] Obama won a peace, he won the Nobel Peace Prize. [00:06:40] No, he didn't. [00:06:41] Yeah, he did. [00:06:41] He won the Nobel Peace Prize. [00:06:42] What did he do? [00:06:43] Well, he was, by the way, involved in like 27 bombings in over 27 countries. [00:06:47] He was in drone strikes of thousands of civilians, but he's the Peace Prize winner. [00:06:51] He's a really peaceful guy. [00:06:52] He's a really peaceful guy. [00:06:54] Okay, it's 27 more countries than I've bombed. [00:06:56] You know, there is a whole group of people who are really peaceful that I'm sure would love him. [00:07:01] Yeah, the Clintons, very peaceful people. [00:07:03] But believe it or not, Obama got a Netflix deal, which Hollywood loves Obama. [00:07:08] In fact, asking who was the man of the year, there was a tie of people in LA that answered versus Obama and versus Trump. [00:07:15] When Obama's, what has he done this year? [00:07:17] He's purchased a few mega mansions. [00:07:19] He's been golfing and he's made some movies. [00:07:21] Anyway, Barack and Michelle Obama's production company on this article from CNN Entertainment. [00:07:26] They have their own production company. [00:07:27] Yeah, they were given, well, they have it, and they were given a contract with Netflix. [00:07:30] That's what they're doing. [00:07:31] They scored their first Oscar nomination. [00:07:33] So shocker here, the first film to be produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Grand Productions has scored an Oscar nomination. [00:07:41] On Monday, American Factory, a thought-provoking documentary about a culture clash at a Dayton, Ohio manufacturing plant, earned a nomination for best documentary feature. [00:07:50] Oscar nominations came out today, and I'm glad to see America's Factories nod for best documentary. [00:07:55] The former president said it in an Instagram post. [00:07:57] I like this film for its nuanced, honest portrayal of the way a changing global economy plays out in real life. [00:08:03] It offers a window into people as they actually are, and it's the kind of story we don't see often. [00:08:08] This is exactly what Michelle and I hope to achieve through higher ground. [00:08:12] And here's a picture of them here with the film's creators that they worked with. [00:08:16] So Obama, this is their first year producing work, and they're already nominated for an Oscar, which shows you. [00:08:22] As soon as I saw him, I knew he was going to be good because he was a black man. [00:08:26] And I knew he is going to be good. [00:08:29] If you're black, you're probably your video is worth being nominated. [00:08:32] Oh, yeah. [00:08:32] But this is something. [00:08:34] You know how everyone attacks Trump because he's like been in a couple movies, like Home Alone, or he's like had his own dreams. [00:08:40] He's a celebrity. [00:08:40] Yeah. [00:08:41] And they go, celebrities, screw you. [00:08:43] Like, you shouldn't do this. [00:08:44] It's like the reverse. [00:08:45] Now, Obama's getting into Hollywood, but there's no backlash about that. [00:08:50] Obama's been in Hollywood. [00:08:51] He's always been Hollywood's favorite president. [00:08:52] He is always raising money from billionaires and millionaires. [00:08:55] He's going over people's houses. [00:08:57] But this is the best part. [00:08:58] It's not woke enough. [00:08:59] The president of black, the first, I would say the first half white president in the United States. [00:09:06] America's still racist because they haven't had a fully black. [00:09:09] The first half white president of the United States gets nominated and it's still not woke enough, which is really interesting. [00:09:14] So I want to bring this hypocrisy of Hollywood. [00:09:17] So I have this clip here from Adam Driver. [00:09:19] So Adam Driver plays Kylo Wren, who is a Sith Lord. [00:09:23] Maybe he's not a Lord. [00:09:24] Star Wars fans are going to kill me here. [00:09:26] Sorry, the new trilogy was terrible. [00:09:28] Adam Driver was interviewed as recently as 2015 and he was asked about how he gets into a role of being an evil character. [00:09:35] And I want you to listen to this interview, and I'm going to point out exactly how hypocritical these people are. [00:09:40] Cool, thank you. [00:09:42] How are you? [00:09:43] How are you feeling? [00:09:43] I'm good, how are you? [00:09:44] You were seriously scary and nasty in the film. [00:09:47] Oh, that's a compliment. [00:09:48] Oh, thanks. [00:09:49] How do you access being a bad guy? [00:09:51] Does it come naturally to you or do you, you know, do you go to a dark place? [00:09:54] I just think about taxes and traffic and I'm there. [00:09:58] And then he's just in a really awful place. [00:10:01] You know what? [00:10:02] And that's what's interesting. [00:10:02] So Adam Driver, when he was asked about how he prepares for his roles, right, to get nominated and do these things, he thinks about taxes being high and traffic being bad, presumably here in LA or in New York. [00:10:15] It doesn't really matter. [00:10:16] So Hollywood, in the meantime, they complain about not being woke enough. [00:10:21] They push the left-wing narratives of we've got to have more gays, more people of color, which people of color, I reject that narrative. [00:10:28] I've always said this, we are all people of color. [00:10:30] Everybody is. [00:10:31] Some just have less of it than others. [00:10:33] You're the only person I know personally that has less color than I do. [00:10:37] I'm a person of multiple colors. [00:10:39] Pink, white. [00:10:41] No, freckles, brown. [00:10:42] Brown, freckles. [00:10:43] Yeah, brown, freckles. [00:10:44] Yeah, but you know, this is a common trait in Hollywood is that they cry about things, but when it comes down to it, they're just like the rest of us. [00:10:50] They don't want to pay higher taxes. [00:10:52] They don't want the mismanagement of their cities. [00:10:54] And then at the same time, they're pushing these candidates and Democrats. [00:10:58] And they push Obama. [00:10:59] When what did Obama do? [00:11:00] The economy crashed. [00:11:01] It didn't get better. [00:11:02] We were in multiple wars overseas. [00:11:04] We got into new wars like in Libya and Syria. [00:11:07] We had our embassies attacked. [00:11:09] Things had not gotten better overall. [00:11:11] But they continually push the woke narrative, even though in their own lives, they're complaining about the ramifications of having liberal politicians in place. [00:11:19] They don't even like living in it because they hate the cancel culture. [00:11:21] They're all afraid of it. [00:11:22] Right. [00:11:23] But also, these are like mega-rich people with their mansions and stuff, and they're complaining about taxes and traffic when the rest of us who aren't like all this wealthy, we have to deal with it, I think, a lot worse. [00:11:36] Yeah, but my point is, it's not just him. [00:11:38] I want to bring up some more hypocrisy in Hollywood. [00:11:40] So also today, this comes out of Mashable. [00:11:43] Sometimes I want to apologize for the sources I use in here, but I want to use liberal sources because I think it's important. [00:11:48] Are you familiar with Mark Hamill, the guy who played Luke Skywalker? [00:11:51] I don't. [00:11:52] The one who kissed his sister in the movie. [00:11:53] Remember there's incest in that movie? [00:11:55] Look, I didn't watch Star Wars. [00:11:57] I'm not a Star Wars fan. [00:11:58] I just don't care about it. [00:12:00] Well, Mark Hamill joined critics in deleting his Facebook, condemning Mark Zuckerberg. [00:12:05] So what happened is that the liberals suddenly turned against Mark Zuckerberg because he is going to allow President Trump to have unread, what is it called? Unrestricted spending on Facebook ads. [00:12:18] And the CEO of, one of the, no, it's not the CEO, but one of the lead executives at Facebook was caught in a memo letting the people know that he believes that the Facebook ads of Trump are what led to his election. [00:12:29] And he's warning his people that although we could meddle and try to block his ads, I'm afraid of what that would lead to down the road. [00:12:34] And so because Facebook decided they're not going to try to intervene and block Donald Trump's ads, they're not going to, because Google is blocking. [00:12:43] Well, Google's blocking. [00:12:44] The Google CEO admit that they're blocking Trump's ads on YouTube and stuff. [00:12:47] They're actively suppressing his ads. [00:12:49] And they admitted to it. [00:12:50] They're going to suppress his ads during this campaign. [00:12:53] Facebook isn't going to do it. [00:12:54] And so liberals are deleting their Facebooks in protest because it says here that on Sunday— Okay, wow. [00:13:00] Yeah, on Sunday. [00:13:02] That's what I'm saying. [00:13:03] Star Wars icon Mark Hamill took to Twitter to announce that he would be deleting his Facebook account in protest of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's decision to allow political advertisements, including lies and propaganda on the site. [00:13:13] Hamill is the latest in a number of high-profile celebrities to condemn Zuckerberg's actions, like with actor Sasha Barrett. [00:13:20] Okay, Sasha. [00:13:22] It's like Ollie G. Is this supposed to upset us? [00:13:25] Yeah, yeah, it is. [00:13:26] It's mashable. [00:13:28] Because of his decision to allow political advertisements, including lies and propaganda, they consider Donald Trump's. [00:13:33] I'm supposed to be upset that some random guy who I don't care about is deleting his Facebook account. [00:13:40] In protest. [00:13:41] In protest. [00:13:42] How out of touch are these people? [00:13:44] That's a protest? [00:13:45] Well, yeah, but how out of touch are these people? [00:13:47] You're not going to be able to see what I ate for lunch today. [00:13:49] So screw you guys. [00:13:51] I don't care. [00:13:53] Who uses Facebook these days anyway? [00:13:55] Anyways, we do. [00:13:56] I don't. [00:13:57] This show does. [00:13:59] I mean, hey, like us on Facebook if you still use it. [00:14:03] No, but I'm trying to grow our Facebook. [00:14:05] Really? [00:14:06] Yeah. [00:14:07] We went from 6,000 followers on our Facebook project to 40,000 in like six months. [00:14:12] I'm pretty good at that. [00:14:13] That's pretty good. [00:14:14] We gained like 34,000 new followers on Facebook in like six months, which is good for we were never using it. [00:14:19] But then once Zuckerberg came out and said that he's going to start allowing political ads and they're going to try to roll back on their suppression, I decided to start trying to grow one, and it's working. [00:14:27] And it's on, ironically, I make more money on Facebook than I do on YouTube. [00:14:30] That's crazy. [00:14:31] I have 212,000 at the time of this video subscribers and make less money on YouTube than I do with 40,000 followers on Facebook. [00:14:39] In fact, we make such little money on YouTube these days that it's almost like we technically lose money on our Facebook videos. [00:14:46] It's like profitless. [00:14:47] It's a negative return. [00:14:51] Yeah, we lose. [00:14:52] We lose money. [00:14:53] No, but he says he's going to produce it. [00:14:54] So he says this. [00:14:55] Mark Hamill says, so disappointed that Mark Zuckerberg values profit more than truthfulness that I've decided to delete my Facebook account. [00:15:01] I know this is a big who cares. [00:15:03] You're right, Mark Hamill, for the world at large, but I'll sleep better at night. [00:15:07] And it's got 176,000 likes. [00:15:12] So this is like he's like posting on another social media platform to say that he's deleting a different social media platform because he's upset. === Back To School (03:47) === [00:15:25] But he's going to be able to sleep better at night. [00:15:27] Because they will. [00:15:27] Because what does that even do? [00:15:29] That's my point. [00:15:30] They have this false virtue signaling to try to make people think they're good people. [00:15:34] And it's like Mark Hamill. [00:15:35] He didn't hurt Mark Zuckerberg's feelings that his friend left Facebook? [00:15:39] I don't think Mark, just because the name's Mark, no, Mark Hill. [00:15:42] Maybe just because Mark Hamill and Mark Zuckerberg have the first name, Mark, doesn't make them friends. [00:15:48] They're not friends. [00:15:48] He's just on Facebook. [00:15:49] No, but they're all like big celebrity guys. [00:15:52] Yeah, but my point is that these people literally think that they're going to change things by just complaining. [00:15:56] And the truth of the matter is, they give Obama, who, by the way, is a more violent president than Trump, a platform to continue to create content. [00:16:03] And they even nominate him an Academy Award. [00:16:05] But then they blacklist Trump and delete their profiles because he can advertise. [00:16:09] Not even because he's committing crimes, which is even crazier. [00:16:12] Did you hear about what happened with Cardi B? [00:16:15] Oh, isn't she running for Congress or something? [00:16:17] Yeah, she hinted she's going to run for Congress. [00:16:19] Wow, good for her. [00:16:20] She said, where's her tweet, actually? [00:16:23] This is a real quote from Cardi B. [00:16:25] She said, she said, like, I was watching war documentaries. [00:16:28] No matter how many weapons a country have, you need people. [00:16:31] How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? [00:16:35] I barely see people claiming they love being American. [00:16:38] Yes, Cardi B, your people claim to not love America. [00:16:42] Not right-wing patriots. [00:16:44] Gosh dang it. [00:16:44] And she feels, she wrote this, I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up, I can be a part of Congress. [00:16:49] Wait, I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up, I can be a part of Congress. [00:16:53] I deadass have so much ideas that make sense. [00:16:55] When you learn to like speak like proper English, maybe it'll do it. [00:16:59] Yeah, maybe if you get an education, like, what are you going to go back to school, start the third grade? [00:17:04] Can you imagine her in Congress, though? [00:17:05] Like, every time she comes out with like a bill that she's written, it's going to be like a wrap or something like that. [00:17:11] And imagine her. [00:17:12] No, I mean, I could literally imagine this. [00:17:14] But she said, I dead ass have so much ideas, so much ideas that make sense. [00:17:19] I just need a couple years of school and I can shake the table, she tweeted, which, by the way, earlier she was complaining about not liking to pay a lot of taxes. [00:17:27] And then she endorsed Bernie Sanders, which is the most ironic thing you could think of. [00:17:32] That's why she needs to go back to school. [00:17:35] Yeah. [00:17:35] Welcome to kindergarten. [00:17:36] She needs to learn her primary colors. [00:17:38] I'm not even joking, though. [00:17:39] But this is the culture. [00:17:39] These are the people complaining, trying to control a thing that they know better than us. [00:17:43] They're complaining about wokeness and these things. [00:17:46] But they actually are probably better thinkers than we attribute them, meaning they are complaining about taxes. [00:17:51] They are complaining about traffic. [00:17:52] They see the mismanagement, the problems. [00:17:54] And they push the narrative. [00:17:55] Yeah, I think that they see like, oh, taxes suck. [00:17:58] But I think that where they think the source of the problem is, they're like, huh? [00:18:04] We need Bernie Sanders. [00:18:05] No, I think it's Illuminati level, though. [00:18:07] I think that there's people in power and control. [00:18:09] Now, I'm not saying that's exactly Illuminati, but I think that they're, it's a groupthink kind of thing. [00:18:14] Like, if they don't support this, they'll get X'd out of it. [00:18:17] And it's the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. [00:18:19] So I think these people are enjoying living in this environment because if they don't escape, if they try to escape, then they're going to lose all their money, wealth, and fame. [00:18:29] So it's kind of like, well, I do see the problem, but I'm not willing to give up my comfortable life in order to go fight against it. [00:18:35] And I give them the credit for that. [00:18:37] I wouldn't want to do it either, not because I'm a sellout, but because they're not going to win. [00:18:40] You know they're going to lose every time. [00:18:41] Yeah. [00:18:42] They're going to lose. [00:18:43] Now, of course, speaking of Mark Hamill, I think I would do it in the end because I would be able to sleep at night. [00:18:49] Would you delete your Facebook at the end? [00:18:50] No, I would just probably not join Hollywood. [00:18:53] I wouldn't join all the pedophiles and everything. [00:18:54] Right, Really, Hollywood's full of pedophiles. === Daily Dose Updates (00:38) === [00:18:57] It really is. [00:18:57] Oh, yeah. [00:18:59] Absolutely. [00:19:00] I mean, we were talking about, what, Kevin Spacey before? [00:19:02] Yeah, I called you baby, and then before you knew it, Kevin Spacey was in the room. [00:19:05] Someone said there was a baby in here. [00:19:06] And I was like, yeah, no, I was telling her, my girl, not a child. [00:19:10] Hollywood's dead, and we're going to keep up with this.
