| I'm legitimately convinced he doesn't know what it means. | |
| He thinks that it has to increase every month or every quarter on top of it to be terrible, to be painful. | |
| And even the reporter from 60 Minutes Like, a bastion of liberal media is like, you realize it's the highest it's ever been in, like, in 40 years. | |
| Like, yeah, yeah, no, but it hasn't gone up. | |
| It hasn't spiked since then. | |
| It's like, no, but the 40-year high, Joe, the 40-year high, that is the spike. | |
| You think that, like, it didn't go to 12, so that's, like, a great thing, as opposed to virtually, in my lifetime, the highest inflation rates ever. | |
| People are hurting. | |
| They're hurting at the gas pump. | |
| They're hurting at the supermarket. | |
| They're hurting on their mortgage rates when those go up because they're going to have to adjust interest rates up to combat some of this stuff. | |
| People are going to get crushed. | |
| It's going to be a bloodbath. | |
| And Joe has no idea that it's bad. | |
| I mean, look at the look on the reporter's face. | |
| Just watch the clip for yourself. | |
| Mr. President, as you know, last Tuesday the annual inflation rate came in at 8.3%. | |
| The stock market nosedived. | |
| People are shocked by their grocery bills. | |
| What can you do better and faster? | |
| Well, first of all, let's put this in perspective. | |
| Inflation rate month to month was just an inch. | |
| Hardly at all. You're not arguing that 8.3 is good news. | |
| No, I'm not saying it is good news. | |
| But it was 8.2 or 8.2 before. | |
| I mean, it's not... I can make it sound like all of a sudden, my God, it went to 8.2%. | |
| It's been... | |
| It's the highest inflation rate, Mr. | |
| President, in 40 years. | |
| I got that. But guess what we are. | |
| We're in a position where, for the last several months, it hasn't spiked. | |
| It has just barely... | |
| It's been basically even. | |
| Can you make this stuff up? | |
| He genuinely, I don't think, knows. | |
| He's like, no, no, no, but it hasn't spiked. | |
| It's like, no, dude. The spike has been going on for the last, you know, 18 months since you took office. | |
| That's the spike. | |
| And you're not helping it with your ridiculous policies on immigration, on gas, on literally just about everything that you're doing. | |
| You're making it worse. | |
| Like, he doesn't even get it. | |
| He has no idea what's going on. | |
| And if there's anything that makes that more apparent, it's this video. | |
| I mean, they're trying to help him and even they are like, oh my God, this guy is clueless. | |
