Triggered - Donald Trump Jr - Democrat Senator Allegedly Belongs To All-White Country Club? Aired: 2021-06-22 Duration: 05:20 === Double Standard At The Beach (05:09) === [00:00:00] Okay, guys. So this is an interesting story. [00:00:02] Watch this video and listen to the questions. [00:00:04] This is a reporter questioning Rhode Island Senator Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse about his wife and their families having been members of an all-white, all-white private beach club for decades. [00:00:18] His response is pretty amazing, and I wonder if Republicans would get the same treatment. [00:00:24] Give it a watch. Let me know your thoughts, and I'll be back with some commentary. [00:00:27] Okay. A little close. [00:00:30] Okay, back in 2017, you had expressed concerns about the membership of the all-white Baileys Beach Club, said that you hoped it would become more diverse. [00:00:38] Now, your family's been members, your wife is one of the largest shareholders. [00:00:42] Has there been any traction in that? [00:00:44] Are there any minority members of the club now? [00:00:46] I think the people who are running the place are still working on that, and I'm sorry it hasn't happened yet. [00:00:51] Do you have concerns in 2021? [00:00:53] I mean, obviously, it's been four years. [00:00:54] You had remarks on the floor following the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, saying, you know, hoping to root out systemic racism in the country. [00:01:02] Your thoughts on an elite, all-white, wealthy club again in this day and age. [00:01:09] You know, should these clubs continue to exist? [00:01:12] It's a long tradition in Rhode Island, and there are many of them. [00:01:16] And I think we just need to work our way through the issues. [00:01:19] Thank you. Okay, so it's a long tradition in Rhode Island to be racist and to be segregationist. [00:01:26] We just need to work through the issues. [00:01:28] He's known about the issues since 2017. [00:01:31] Like, it's not a new issue. [00:01:32] He's been aware of it. [00:01:34] And I assume he's still there. [00:01:36] I mean, has Sheldon Whitehouse resigned from his racist and segregationist beach club yet? [00:01:43] If not, why not? [00:01:45] Have the media even asked him that question? [00:01:49] Have the media called the club to see how those kinds of policies could stand in 2021? [00:01:55] Are there protests out in front of the club? [00:01:59] Where's the outrage? [00:02:01] Where's the outrage? [00:02:02] You see some Democrats responding to some of the tweets I've seen about it like, well, there may not be wealthy enough people of minority status in Rhode Island. [00:02:12] B.S. There's plenty. [00:02:14] It's just a segregationist club. [00:02:16] Let's stop pretending it. [00:02:17] But again, there's no outrage. [00:02:20] Imagine this was a Republican. [00:02:22] Imagine it was what they believed to be a Republican institution. [00:02:25] They'd be boycotting. [00:02:27] They'd be naming names. [00:02:29] They'd give you a list of the membership. [00:02:31] Right? They should just rename it Sheldon White Club. [00:02:34] Because that's what it is. [00:02:36] Okay? These things exist. [00:02:38] They shouldn't, but they still do. [00:02:40] But when it's a Democrat, it's rules for them and rules for us. [00:02:44] And there's a double standard to all of this. [00:02:47] He was asked about it originally in 2017. [00:02:50] And four years later, he's still working on it, guys. [00:02:52] He's really putting in an effort. [00:02:54] He hasn't resigned from a club that has segregationist policies or racist policies. [00:02:58] He's still a member because he likes the beach. [00:03:02] Why? You think a Republican could get away with not leaving that club? [00:03:06] Why hasn't Sheldon Whitehouse resigned from his white club? [00:03:10] I want to know. [00:03:11] And I think you should too. [00:03:13] Maybe we should write him. [00:03:15] Because the whole long-standing tradition Yeah, that's the problem, isn't it? [00:03:20] Isn't that the long-standard tradition we've heard is a problem with anything else that's even remotely similar? [00:03:25] Certainly if it involves a conservative or isn't protecting a Democrat senator? [00:03:34] I understand these kinds of plays has history, but that's a ridiculous response. [00:03:39] You're a sitting senator. [00:03:41] Your whole party does nothing but race bait and play that card day in and day out. [00:03:47] And you're to tell me that, well, you know, we're going to keep pushing membership to do something about it. [00:03:52] I'm going to still attend, of course, because I'm not going to give it up. [00:03:56] But it's a problem and we've got to do something about it. [00:03:59] I don't want to hear any more about this nonsense from the Democrats that have such a double standard. [00:04:04] It's liberal privilege at its finest. [00:04:06] I wish I would have known about this example when I was writing the book. [00:04:09] But again, if Sheldon Whitehouse was a Republican, this would be a major story. [00:04:14] They wouldn't be covering it up, okay? [00:04:16] Bailey's Beach Club... [00:04:18] Would be the front page of every place. [00:04:21] There'd be activists, protesters in front of the place for months. [00:04:25] They'd be taking pictures and naming names of all the members as they go in and out of their white-only rich person club. [00:04:32] Okay? I mean, my father did the opposite with Mar-a-Lago when he opened it up to everyone because those kinds of places existed in Palm Beach. [00:04:40] Okay? He did the opposite. [00:04:42] Like, way before it was ever woke or popular to do so because it was the right thing to do. [00:04:47] That's what my dad did. [00:04:49] Yet, they'll tar and feather him. [00:04:50] Imagine the shoes were reversed and this was Donald Trump. [00:04:53] They'd go nuts. === Back To Looking (00:26) === [00:04:54] But because it's Sheldon Whitehouse, he'll get a pass and nothing will happen. [00:04:59] Welcome to the Democrat Party, right? [00:05:01] They'll use these kinds of situations to their advantage, and when it happens to them, what happened? [00:05:06] I don't know. I don't know. [00:05:07] Oh, I didn't realize there was a problem. [00:05:09] Well, we'll go back to looking at that for another four years. [00:05:13] Enough, Sheldon. Man up. [00:05:15] Do the right thing, Sheldon. [00:05:17] I have a feeling you won't, because you're not capable of that.
