The greatest thing I have ever heard in my whole life.
I could not believe my ears.
In this house, wherever the rules are disregarded, chaos and mob rule.
It has been said today, where is bravery?
I'll tell you where bravery is found and courage is found.
It's found in this minority who has lived through the last year of nothing but rules being broken, people being put down, questions not being answered, and this majority say, be damned with anything else.
We're going to impeach and do whatever we want to do.
Why?
Because we won an election.

As I said a minute ago to the podcast, glad to have you here.
It's been a crazy week.
I mean, it's been one of those weeks.
Chip, we start off here in just a few minutes just to catch up a little bit.
It's already amazing, and full disclosure, so we're going to be talking in the pre, because we don't have Thursday night.
We've got a Thursday night game tonight.
We've got the Friday, so we're going to be in a predictive mode, not a reactive mode to the Thursday night game tonight, and that's something just to talk about.
You'll know the results of Thursday night game, but we'll talk more about it.
But also, from the perspective of the week, Chip, it's Thursday, and it feels like it was Thursday of the next week with everything going on.
I mean, My God, with the debate, with 9-11, with...
I mean, in some ways, Chip, and I did a radio interview earlier this morning, and it's interesting...
The results of how everybody...
You've been doing this years like I have.
Isn't it still funny to me, though, how everybody reacts to debates emotionally?
Oh, yeah, 100%.
I mean, it's the only way to do it, right?
You know?
It's like a college football, a pro football game.
That's how you react.
Yep.
Just that adrenaline.
It doesn't matter what we'll say.
It doesn't matter what the polls say.
And let's just say we've got at least some...
Sort of eyeballs on some polls that were done now that would have taken in at least part of the debate.
And I'm going to brag on the podcast here, but Chip, we're sort of right.
It really hasn't changed the numbers.
And the one that's coming out to me, and if you want to get into this a little bit, I'll let you...
You've seen this before.
West Wing, and I talk about the TV show The West Wing a lot, just because of the storylines.
But in one of their episodes, they were talking about the State of the Union.
And they were talking about focus groups and dial groups, what they call dial groups.
And what this is, and Chip has done this a lot, is they'll have people in a room and they're watching it, and they dial up when they like, down when they don't like, and it sort of keeps a line.
Chip, explain to people, especially who believe that Donald Trump just didn't have a good night, that Kamala Harris had a great night, the moderators were perfect.
Explain what we're seeing now that is showing up this morning and late last night, that they're now putting out some of these dial groups, that independents were basically tracking Republicans on most of the major immigration economy and other kinds of issues, and how that could play as a factor in these polling.
When you look at these presidential polls, it shouldn't be a surprise to a lot of people.
It's not a surprise to me.
Let's say these independents, these swing voters, and some people say it's as much as 10%.
I think it could be as small as 3.5%, but that doesn't matter.
It's probably somewhere in between.
The reality is, their independents or their swing voters Because they can't decide between what they view as a lesser of two evils right now.
And the evil on the Democratic side are policies.
They don't like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz and the left's policies.
They don't like them.
But they also aren't real comfortable with Donald Trump's style or his personality or what have you.
And so they're trying to figure out, you know, where do I land?
And so, you know, that's why a lot of us on the Republican side, if not all of us, want Donald Trump as best we can to stick to the issues.
Because if he does that, he wins those people over.
But, you know, and I say win those people over.
Let's say the undecided, Doug, is as high as 10%.
These people aren't going to break in mass 4 to 1, 3 to 1, or even 2 to 1. So let's say right now as we stand 53, 54 days out, whatever the number is, Let's say you've got 8% that are undecided.
They're likely going to break 53-47, 52-48, 55-45.
They might break 50-50, Doug.
I mean, that's why...
I saw a statistic the other day, and I wish I would have screenshotted it to kind of have it, but this is the only presidential election in modern history, and we've got more polling this year as more and more elections go by.
We have more and more polling.
There hasn't been a national poll.
Not one.
Not one credible national poll outside the margin of error.
Think about that.
Think about that for a second.
100% of all national polls.
Now, I know we don't elect our president by national popular vote, and so I generally think national polls are meaningless, except when we're trying to highlight How close this race is, and it is.
I've said it for months now, and I'll continue saying it.
I just don't think we're going to see many shifts, certainly any major shifts, between now and Election Day.
I think we're going to go into Election Day not knowing who the president is, and I hate to say this, Might wake up the day after the election and not know either.
It could be that close.
It's going to be close, I think.
But I think that for all of the, you know, and I've had, here's the funny part, Chip.
You know, you've got the folks who are, you know, going to be out in front and saying, oh, everything's great.
You know, things are fine.
Don't worry.
Trump did fine.
And then you have the phone calls that we get offline, that aren't on podcasts, that aren't on interviews.
And they say, oh, my God.
You know, the ringing of the hand Republicans, what I call it.
And, you know, everything's terrible.
And I just remind them, I said, look, I said, you know, what we just talked about on the issues that people are going to vote on, which I believe, and you and I have talked about for years now, it's true.
They vote on what is in front of them.
They vote on what's in their pocket, but they vote on what they feel about immigration.
And those were the ones, what I was talking about on that tracking, and what you emphasized was, is when you're all going along here, and then all of a sudden on that dial group, all of a sudden the Republican number goes up, and you see the blue line start going down, but you see that yellow line follow.
It's like airplanes breaking off.
Will they break off?
Well, who are you going to go with?
Break left, break right?
Well, they broke And consistently toward what the president was saying, President Trump was saying.
So again, I say, you know, look, would we all like to have had a fair moderator?
Yes.
Would we all like to have seen sharper answers?
Yes.
Would Democrats like to have seen any answers?
Yes.
But I think at the end of the day, I was on a, Interview with Rick Santorum yesterday.
And Rick basically said this.
He said, in another week, he said, we won't even be talking about this debate.
He said, except in passing terms.
He said, it just won't happen.
And I agree.
I think this was a, as best to normal debate.
Then we turn our attention to the fact that there may be a vice presidential debate.
That one could get interesting.
Because one thing you can say about J.D. Vance, he's not one to...
Especially what we've seen in the last 75 days.
Let's just put it that way, 70 days or so.
And we saw it before.
When he does the question-answer interviews, which he does very well on Sunday shows and everything else, this fits right into his alley.
This is, and I don't think it does Waltz.
I've known Waltz from Congress and everything else.
So, you know, in many ways, I am looking for a vice presidential debate.
I think it could be, I think it'd be very informative looking ahead.
Yeah, look, I hope we get a vice presidential debate.
I think it would be highly entertaining.
Look, I'm a political junkie, and so I enjoy watching those things.
I know you do too.
But yeah, look, I mean, if we're talking policies, like I said, these voters aren't undecided because they believe in the direction the left is trying to take this country.
They're undecided because they just have to get comfortable either again Or they have to get comfortable for the first time with Donald Trump.
And I think, you know, I still think there's a high degree of likelihood that Trump gets slightly more of that voter block than Kamala Harris does, which is why, you know, which is why he has a very good chance, if not maybe the best chance at winning this election, as close as I think it's going to be.
I wouldn't bet against him.
No, I would.
Look, you have some very unique insights to Georgia, and especially coming off the last statewide races in 22, you were involved in some of that.
If we talk about a new coalition, this will be our last political topic of the morning.
Political coalitions, and I've been making this point to groups that I've been speaking to, That we can wring our hands over the loss of, you know, the quote, suburban women, you know, gender gap, however they want to call it.
Kamala Harris has a very big gender gap, male gender gap that they don't talk about either.
But I mean, that's a whole different issue.
But, you know, for instance, if we're losing 8% to 15%, I was going to say 15%, make it easy, of this, quote, college-educated, white, suburban, female vote, only from Trump perspective.
But yet, you're coming over here and you're seeing 4% to 5% gains in African American males.
You're seeing 4% to 5% gains are even higher in Hispanics and Asians.
That offsets, and I think Republicans have got to get comfortable with possibly a new governing coalition, a new voting coalition, That we're not used to in that fact.
Speaking specifically though, Georgia is a lot being made of Georgia and the African-American vote in Georgia because it's higher than North Carolina and it's non-existent in the Pennsylvania, the blue, the quote, blue wall states up there.
It's just not as big of a, as a thing as it is in Georgia, at least from the present, maybe Pennsylvania, but the others not as much.
Percentage wise, If you had to say, if I told you that on November the 5th, Donald Trump gets 15% statewide African American vote, does he win or lose?
Oh, he'll win.
I say overwhelmingly.
I mean, an overwhelming win is two and a half points right in this day.
Right.
But yes, and I think that, you know, that's probably on the high end of what he's likely to get, but it's not out of reach because I don't know if you noticed, Doug, you know, in the interview with Dana Bash, Dana tried to bait Kamala Harris into getting her opinion on Donald Trump's remarks to the Association of Black Journalists Convention when Donald Trump said,
you know, I read that she was of one ethnicity and then I read that she's black.
All of a sudden I wake up and she's black.
That's what Trump said.
And, you know, during the Dana Bash interview, Kamala Harris said, same old, same old playbook.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Nope.
During the debate, she spent full two minutes talking about that, and she talked about the Central Park Five and this and that, and that tells me that strategically they have made a decision Yeah.
I mean, what...
Seriously, I mean, I get that they believe the abortion issue is a winning issue for them, and in some ways maybe it is, but I mean, it's just laughable now that 53 days out from an election, the brain trust over at Harris Walls are going, hmm, maybe we should do something to pick up some men.
Yeah, it is pretty hilarious.
Again, it's a new world for both.
Maybe you and I will talk about that on a future podcast.
When you talk to Republican groups, and I do this a lot, it's like light bulbs go on and they say like, Ooh, we hadn't thought about this.
You know, it's just, you know, some of the hand-wringing.
But anyway, that's where we're at.
Folks, it's been one of them weeks.
Get ready.
The next 55 days, 54 days, whatever we got left, is going to be full.
I will say this to end this up, though, Chip.
I have been impressed.
With what I'll call Team Trump ads, from whether it be the Make America Great Again pact, whether it be the campaign itself, they've been really focused.
And at least what I've seen so far in these last couple of weeks, unlike some that we have seen in the past, these have been pretty good and they're using her in their own words.
Which I think is very good.
And I'm focusing on the messaging that most of us thought.
I think in digital has been such a big play in a lot of these as well.
But Doug, they have to be.
Yeah.
Because the candidate's not focused and not on message.
All the time.
He is, you know, sometimes.
Well, he is, but he is the Donald Trump.
He is.
And we know that.
And it's not like it's a surprise to anybody, right?
And Trump would be the first one to say he's not, you know, he doesn't want to sound like one of his commercials, you know?
And so, yeah, it has to be.
And it is.
And that, you know, and that's why, you know, I have, you know, that's why I'm confident that...
That we're going to do well and he's going to win in November because the ads are really solid.
They're really good.
They're on point.
It's what needs to be said.
The weight of message is very strong.
I mean, you can't watch television show.
I mean, James might because he's traveling the world and he's in the state of Oregon.
And I don't know that that's a...
Last time I checked, that's not a swing state.
No, that's not a swing state.
But we live in Georgia.
So, yeah, we see it all the time.
And also specifically, you know, for all the...
For all of the media, and I hate to say it, mainstream media in Georgia includes the AJC and others, but all across, they're talking about, is Trump's team behind?
Well, I think they've got well over 60 full-time staff here and everything.
But also, you have a lot of third-party groups that are also pitching it.
And my mailbox, now think about this, presidential mailbox in Georgia for the month of August, I have received, I believe it's four or five Decent pieces, all pro-Donald Trump.
Hold that thought, Doug.
Hold that thought.
Yep.
There it is.
I mean, they're running the mail through the state party, which they should do, because they get a...
They get a break on the postage rate.
But yeah, I mean, it's September 12th, and I've gotten eight pieces of this size.
And they're good.
It tells me they're on top of things.
Yeah, they're not letting anything, because you and I both know that the, I always like to call them disaffected voter, the casual voter, whatever you want to call them.
You may not get them in anything else, but they got to go to their mailbox.
And, you know, at some point in time, they got to pull that out, whether they throw it right in the trash or not, but they at least see the name, they see that there's election.
And for some of those voters, you know, they may take the time to go out.
So again, hitting them in every way.
All right, we're going to transition now, bringing in James, if we can, you know, get him up and going in Portland out there.
You know, if you see James on the street, you know, any of the Doug Collins folks, you got to go up and you got to, you got to go, you know, buy James a beer, wherever he's at.
Okay.
Don't do that.
I'll already be drunk.
And notice today, folks, you're not going to see the lovely expressions of our buddy James.
I'm in a little bedroom with no chair.
I got nothing going on.
Also, I just wanted to, one thing about the debate.
I will say, thank God for the internet and all the memes that have come from it.
Specifically about the people eating dogs, the internet has really taken that to a new level.
There's a video where it's, this is the first illegal alien to steal and eat a dog, and it's a video from Alf when he breaks out of jail.
So, I'm just saying, regardless where you stand, the internet always makes everybody pay.
And speaking of making everybody pay on the internet, Doug, you brought this up and you said we had to be gentle about it.
Shannon Sharp had a little mishap this morning.
Yeah, just a little.
For those, and I'll try to be as gentle as possible here.
He was getting his freak on without video.
Well, technically there was video, you just couldn't see anything.
And you just heard noises.
Shannon Sharp tried to tell everybody he was hacked first thing in the morning.
Then, I think he saw that the internet was applauding him.
And he turned it around and made a full apology about how he was whatever.
Man, the internet had a field day.
And again, thank God for the internet for that.
So what I don't understand, James, was it live streamed or was it playing and then, oh, it was live streamed.
It was live streamed.
So I just, here's my question.
Where was his phone?
This is the only part that doesn't, like, was it just up against the wall?
Thank God that it was in a position that we didn't have.
Did the world get video as well?
No, they just saw the floor.
They just saw the floor.
Oh, it was the floor.
Okay.
I thought it was the head.
I was so confused.
What are you doing?
The floor or the walls.
Anyway, but again, folks, it's just, these are dangerous devices.
They should be registered as weapons.
More people have ruined themselves with these little things right here than most anything else combined.
Okay.
Just realize, this is not a toy, okay?
It's just amazing to see.
Now, I have seen an unconfirmed report that ESPN has fired him.
Is that true?
I haven't seen that, but you know what?
If that's the case, then bat on ESPN. Honestly.
What are we doing?
He's not Paul Pierce, who went on live stream with literal hookers and smoking blunts That was on purpose because he wanted to get fired.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Just let it be, man.
And we're off here on Friday's Finest.
We've now discussed, Chip, in Friday's Finest, we've had the first few minutes with James and we've discussed inappropriate videos.
We've discussed hookers and blunts all in Friday's Finest.
James, you bring the show an amazing depth that we haven't seen in a while.
It's pretty much my only shtick is being an idiot.
And I will continue to do that until I die.
I love it.
All right, speaking of, let's get into some football.
By the way, we're not, you know, Chip, Auburn, you know, we won't discuss.
And, you know, you did a little bit of that the other day.
But we do have to bring up some discussion points here.
One of my favorite topics to beat is, oh wait, it's also Northern Illinois' favorite topic to beat, Notre Dame!
That brought me so much joy last Saturday.
And look, I don't personally like to see anybody lose.
But somebody, please, has got to get through to Notre Dame and say, You are a decent ball club, but you are not, I mean, I could almost see, you know, for the last 17 years, take Alabama and let them do that.
You know, the last few years, take Georgia, let them be the independent, whatever, but you're not that good.
You need to join a conference, you need to get with the rest of the world, and you shouldn't believe that seventh spot in the poll and the 12-man playoff is written in, in pencil, Notre Dame, just because you're Notre Dame.
And, you know, now they put themselves in a position where I don't think they're going to make the playoffs, but I think they will lose at least once, possibly twice more in this season.
But why is it, and again, we've talked about this before, but I am glad that we've got this aura busted this early in the season.
Well, before we engage in this discussion, I do want to thank Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish because we were a 12 and a half point favorite at home on Saturday and we laid an egg.
They were a 22 and a half point favorite at home on Saturday.
And three hours after we laid an egg, no, two hours, they laid an egg.
And so our egg, it was a bad egg delay.
And they made it easier on us because misery loves company.
I'm convinced of that.
And so, you know, it kind of took the pressure on us.
But there was also a team in between the two of you physically that also took a lot of pressure off.
And that is also who the Georgia Bulldogs roll into Lexington this weekend to play Kentucky, who didn't just lay an egg.
They forgot to go to the roost.
They did.
Yes, they did.
Yes, they did.
And so it was just weird.
You're forgetting one more, guys.
Yeah, first couple weeks.
But Notre Dame is never going to join a conference as long as they have that exclusive deal with NBC Sports where they get to rake all that money.
But I don't know when that deal runs out.
I don't know how conference realignment affects that.
They'll never join.
Which one are you going to bring to the table?
Iowa losing to Iowa State.
Oh, yeah.
Iowa State.
Yeah.
The Cyclones.
The PsyOx Bowl.
That's right.
Yeah, Iowa lost.
And then I was actually kind of shocked.
I don't know if I can gamble here, and I'm going to try not to find out, because if I can, I will jump on that train.
Yeah.
But I was looking and I was like...
You can gamble anywhere.
And I'm certain in Oregon, it's legal.
Everything's legal.
Yeah, everything's legal.
Even drugs are legal.
I found out a lot of things are legal here.
Terrifying.
It is.
Things I literally can't say on the show.
But...
I've been there.
Yeah, I know you've been there.
Guys, I don't know how to say it.
There was a fire on the sidewalk the other day.
I'm not even kidding.
I don't know if I have a picture.
I hope I do.
Let's see if I got it somewhere.
I don't see it, but maybe I saved it somewhere.
Jeff, you and I are living our life vicariously through James now.
First of all, I have beef with everybody.
Now, you guys know my bagel beef is number one.
It's disgusting.
Everyone should have bagels everywhere.
But...
Y'all don't wake up early enough.
The South and the West Coast doesn't wake up early enough.
I'm a 5.30, shovel coffee in my face, eat a bagel and get to work kind of person.
Everyone's like, oh, we open at 7. Why?
Why are you opening at 7 a.m.?
You're a breakfast place.
Anyway, I'm not going to get mad about that.
You won't find that in the South, I'm going to tell you.
Especially our mom and pops especially, they're open at 6. See, that's good.
In Texas, it's only donut shops and they're not even open and they're not even good.
When you get to Georgia, Chip and I can find you a full spread breakfast at 5.30 in the morning.
The thing is, I don't want the full spread.
I just want the bagel.
It's all I want.
Yeah, once you have the full spread, you'll never say, I want a bagel, man.
All right, fine.
Yeah, listen, guys, I'm trying to lose weight.
George, you're going to take me to Wheezy's.
Wheezy's, baby.
You guys are taking me somewhere.
Oh, we got Wheezy's.
We got plenty.
I got plenty for you.
We'll have fun with that.
And if you really want to, we can find you barbecue at that time of the morning.
Don't worry about it.
You don't have to quit.
Hey, if I'll eat barbecue at 2 a.m., I'll eat barbecue at 4 p.m., it doesn't matter.
It's barbecue.
I get that.
Hey, tonight, interesting night.
Big night.
Big night.
And I've already said we're taping early, so we don't have any premonition here.
Everybody, when you hear this, you're going to know.
Bill's Dolphins tonight.
Just quick thoughts.
I don't want to dwell here because, you know, when people will be listening to us tomorrow.
But what do you think, Bill's Dolphins tonight?
Chip, you go first.
Miami's favored by two and a half.
I'd like them to cover the spread.
You know, I... I like him to color the spread.
I think Buffalo was lucky to win last week.
I think Miami wins pretty big tonight.
And I think the only reason that spread is under three is Raheem Mostert is out.
And Achan, however you – Achan.
Yeah, Achan, however you pronounce that name.
I think he's going to play, but he's banged up with his ankle.
I don't think he matters.
If Tyreek Hill can get to the stadium safely, I think I like the Dolphins here.
That might be my favorite celebration of all time, was when he scored the touchdown and got handcuffed.
But, yeah, I... I don't know.
I don't want to say that...
How do I put this?
The reason it's two is because this is probably a field goal game towards the end.
But I think this comes down to, will Tua throw more touchdowns or will Josh Allen run in more touchdowns?
Because Josh Allen looked...
I know he wasn't perfect.
He looked unbelievable the other day, though.
He looked like he was coming for blood for everybody.
He's got to get used to his wide receivers.
I think that's the biggest key.
And I don't know how great the Dolphins secondary is.
So I'm going to say the Bills take this one 24-21 sort of situation.
So you'll flip it.
I'm on opposite here.
I'm actually, and I'll keep it pretty sweet because you both sort of mentioned that.
Here's my thing.
I think it's the Bills, and I would give seven.
I think they're actually going to take this game a little bit more.
And if you look at history, Allen has lived off the Dolphins secondary.
I mean, he's had nothing below.
In fact, I think the over or under on his passing yards is 275 for this game.
I would probably actually take the over on this game.
Wow.
It's just one of the feelings, and I just look at it, and coming off everything that they have down there in Miami, that's the only real issue that I see coming up with pro games tonight, as we've got going.
I want to turn to one that is...
This one...
Oh, also, before we get, okay, for this part, this is Doug speaking on Friday's Finest, okay?
If they don't want to be lumped into this, this is fine.
But I've got to say something, and it was mentioned, because we talked about it a little bit the other day, but this issue with Tyreek Hill and the officers, okay?
I've watched the videos.
I've watched the body cam videos.
I have been a part of this.
I have now listened to leaders in different communities, police leaders, African-American leaders.
I've listened to sports people.
I've listened to the Miami Dade.
Here's my take, all right?
Number one, Yes, there were some times of de-escalation that officers should have taken in this completely, period.
Full stop.
They chose not to.
To me, the most egregious, and I know this may sound strange to some of you, was not the part, was, yes, the part of dealing with Tyreek, but the more egregious display of bluster was with, and I'm sorry, I forgot his name.
Lewis Campbell?
Campbell, yeah.
When he came up and you had one officer telling him to get back in his vehicle and he was going back in his vehicle and the other officer said, no, you're talking to me now.
Again, classic.
And for somebody who's dealt in criminal justice, police reform, this kind of issues for years, they missed their chance right there.
That was stupid.
Now, with all of that said, and they need to be disciplinary and there need to be other training for those officers.
And you can hear it in their voices.
They felt like they were being offended.
Now, also what we've not seen.
Is any video of what Hill was doing to get arrested, okay?
They didn't just stop him randomly.
In fact, they told him when he came up, you were speeding, you were coming in, and he was in an area around the stadium in which probably you couldn't go that fast, but if he happened to be whipping in or speeding, you know, again, just saying, I haven't seen that.
But what bothered me was, is the de-escalation did not take place from the police, and it should have.
That when the officer got his license, he should have just went back to the car, rode his ticket, and brought it back to him instead of discussing.
But, now, here's where I'm gonna have to differ.
And I've looked across and I've seen different opinions on this.
In fact, one of the Salem actual podcasters and radio host, Brandon Tatum, is a former, he's an African American, actual cop.
He's talked about this.
Others have talked about it.
Some sports figures have talked about this.
Here is the issue.
When he took his window down and then raised it back up, And kept mouthing about, do your job, go do whatever you have to do, and raise one back up.
If you don't understand this, folks, They had already escalated, unfortunately, with more officers.
That's the part that I still don't quite get.
Why were there so many officers here?
How long had this been taking place?
Or did he just run into several officers who were standing around outside the stadium?
That was too many officers for a traffic stop.
It doesn't look right.
Something's not jiving here.
Okay?
If they were chasing him, maybe there would be more.
But here's my last thought.
He rolled his window.
Those were heavily tinted windows.
Okay?
I even saw one football player actually say, you know, Tariq, man, what are you talking about?
Those are the 10 of the windows I've ever seen.
The personal safety issue for these officers, I understand why they wanted the window down.
I understand why they wanted to see what they're doing.
Because at that moment in time, they may or may not have known who it was, although they should have a Ferrari outside of the game going in the player's entrance, probably so.
But folks, we've got to get better at this.
Police have got to do a better job.
The police have to de-escalate.
The police have to take this time and make sure that we learn from this.
They've got to.
This is getting ridiculous, folks.
And if they can't handle it, fire them.
Put them working at Walmart.
Do not have them out there with a gun, a badge, and a taser enforcing the laws of a state.
But also, for me, for anybody else, that when you get stopped, there is a reason they do what they do.
And you, if not an officer, may not understand that, but that's okay.
Because they know in Miami-Dade or other places, especially Atlanta and other places, you could be reaching for your license, but also there could be somebody reaching for a gun.
There has to be balance here.
I think Tariq has now seen that.
We've seen that in some of his comments yesterday where he said that he should have maybe paid attention better.
I agree with that.
And look, I'm not letting him off, but I'm not letting the police off either.
But this is a classic example of we've got to do better, folks.
That's my rant.
Well, a couple thoughts on that.
I don't disagree with any of that.
I was happy to see Tyreek Hill say yesterday that he could have handled it better.
And now it's the police's opportunity for the police chief to speak on behalf of the department and say we could have handled it better.
You know, because, you know, at the end of the day, when you look at the body cam, it was obvious to me what he was doing.
He was calling Drew Rosenhaus, his agent.
Because I guarantee you, Drew said, look, well, here's what I suspect.
He said, why was he calling Drew Rosenhaus?
My guess is, is because Drew has some pretty good contacts with him.
You think?
You know, and so he's calling Drew to say, hey man, call your guys.
I mean, tell them there.
And I think the reason there was such a big police presence there is it was a block from Hard Rock Stadium four hours on game.
Yeah.
Four hours before the game.
So, you know, I think that was part of it.
But what bothered me the most, and I agree with you, Tyree should have rolled down the window, but he was calling Drew.
He didn't want the cops to know he was calling Drew.
Yeah.
But so I think it was fine to get him out.
What I had a problem with, most had a problem with, with the cops was, I mean, almost from the top rope, the escalating officer, as he's standing on his feet, handcuffed, And they tell him to sit.
He's like, look, I just had, you know, I just had surgery on my knee.
You know, I mean, it's not like you're sitting in a chair.
I mean, the curb's this much higher than the, the curb's this much higher than the road.
So you really got to kind of sit down.
And I imagine it's, I mean, it's pretty hard to do when you got handcuffs on, even as an athlete.
And a guy comes over and basically grabs him by the back and shoves him down.
I mean, come on, man.
You had two officers that you can see in that video that honestly need to be disciplined.
They need to go, you know, if not fired.
Because, you know, because here's the thing that is true.
If they're not de-escalating there, where they, honest to God, have everybody watching them.
This is, again, the part that frustrates me the most on the police side here.
Everybody in the world is watching them right there.
I mean, they're honestly people walking with video cameras.
And I heard somebody trying to excuse Tyreek saying he rolled up the window because he didn't want to cause a scene.
Bull crap.
Give me a break.
That's just bull.
He's calling Drew.
He's calling somebody else.
Why he wasn't calling a member of the Miami Dolphins, I don't understand.
But, you know, this is it.
Of course, he pays Drew Rosenhaus millions of dollars.
But you're there in a very public arena and just their voice.
And so again, without knowing the precipitating event, okay, that how this came to where that was, Why were they, you know, it's like my wife asked me sometimes, why are you so mad?
You know, why did they, I mean, because from what you say, one of them in particular walked up mad.
I mean, the first officer got the license and asked him to go roll it down.
And then you had another officer come in and said, no, we're getting you out of the car.
It wasn't the officer who had his license.
If I remember correctly, when watching this video, as an attorney, I've watched a lot of this video, but I believe that the officer who had the license was not the one who got him out of the car.
He could have went back and wrote the ticket.
A lot of people, enough said, folks, we do better.
Officers, I'm a son of a state trooper.
I have fought for law enforcement on state level, federal level, and always will do.
But we can do better.
Also, if you're stopped, there's reasons the officers ask you to do what you're, no matter how, and as an attorney, no matter how pissed off you are on the side of the road, don't be stupid!
Pond of mine.
Moving on to college football.
Quite a transition.
Can we skip college football this week?
Yeah, let's talk specifically about Auburn and where they're at right now.
Oh, no!
We're going to skip college football this week.
We're getting a lot to talk about.
Well, we do have a lot to talk about, but I do have a couple of games that are of interest.
Look, I will say this, though.
For Georgia fans, the line on this is minus 24. That's a big line.
I'm going to tell you right now, as a lifelong Georgia fan, that 24, one, Kirby Smart could carry a rat's rear end about a line.
But 24 is a huge line.
I do predict this probably will be within 24. I think it could be 21 or higher.
But that's a big line.
And for those of you not familiar with Georgia-Kentucky, just go back and look at the history.
It's going to be a game.
And Stoops got embarrassed last week.
Yeah, you're getting a lot of value with that Kentucky pick because it's only 24 because of what happened last week in South Carolina.
If they're taking care of business, this line would be around 19 and a half.
I could even see it at maybe 14 to 15. You know, being at home.
But just from the fact that everybody, Stoops has this persona.
His brother, him, and everybody else had this persona, and they've always gotten the benefit of the doubt.
And he's not done a bad job up there, okay?
But, you know, this, I mean, when you have South Carolina come in and dog walk you, I mean, and it wasn't even close.
They looked horrible at home.
You know, that's going to be an interesting, you know, matchup as well.
I'll tell you what I had actually a hard time picking on our little pool we have at the Kiwanis was the LSU-South Carolina game.
What about y'all?
Well, LSU's been displaced this week because of the hurricane, so you have that dynamic going on.
Well, it's at South Carolina.
That's what I'm saying, but LSU had to leave Baton Rouge early.
Right, right, right, right, right.
To get out for the hurricane.
So, I mean, you know, they're...
Who's LSU's head coach?
You just don't know who's...
Exactly.
So, give me South Carolina.
Yeah, we'll see what happens.
And unfortunately, the hurricane, I think, has passed through.
We're getting a little bit of rain today in Georgia, but Chip probably before I do.
But yeah, Chip, Brian Kelly, look, I think there's two coaches.
He's the worst.
Yeah, I don't see Kelly surviving the year.
I mean, if they catch in and go, he can't afford another round of Alabama or a Texas loss, anything like that.
I haven't seen the game, but I believe it is here.
Let's do this real quickly.
Who does Florida have this week?
Let's see.
I forgot to look it up.
I was going to look it up.
Oh, I said Texas A&M. And Florida's 1-1 because they finally had it.
I would almost say my prediction of Billy Napier not making it to the fourth game of the year, if they lose this game and do not look good, he's gone.
Yeah, for sure.
Because they could lose every game left on their schedule if they don't play well.
And usually you have a cupcake here and there, and they just don't.
They have the toughest schedule I've ever seen in college football.
Yeah, it is.
But why is that?
Like, what about Florida?
Like, I don't understand.
I get it if they did that to Georgia or Alabama.
Well, it's simple.
It's easy.
Well, no, well, no.
Well, yes.
Right.
But I'm talking about the other games.
Well, you have four non-conference games.
And their four non-conference games are Sanford, which they played last weekend.
Then it's Miami, Florida State, Central Florida.
I mean, there are no let-ups in those three.
And so, you know, usually, I mean, there are a lot of teams that, you know, I mean, there are a lot of teams that their four non-conference games are all cupcakes.
Let me read you this schedule real quick.
A&M, Mississippi State, UCF, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and then Florida State.
They might get the Florida State win at the end of the year.
UCF is not going to be an easy game for them.
No, they never are.
Mississippi State could be competitive.
Mississippi State has not gotten over Coach Leach dying.
I just don't think so.
I don't think they've ever got their footing back up under them.
It's not easy.
Yeah, I don't think this weekend is as critical to Billy Napier as the Mississippi State game because there are a lot of teams that go into Kyle Field and lose.
You know, I mean, you're not expected.
I mean, it's a tough road game.
The Mississippi State game, on the other hand, he loses that game.
Could be out.
It could be out right after that.
Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
One of the things, again, and this is the thing that we look at many times in the SEC schedule and everything, Alabama's going up to Wisconsin this weekend.
That'll be an interesting road game for DeBoer going back to Wisconsin.
They're up by 16. I think they cover in the game because, again, SEC Big Ten schools, Unless it's the elite versus the elite is typically a mismatch because of speed and the way they play the game.
It's just different.
It's not that they're bad.
One's worse, one bad.
But it's just when they're against each other, the Big Ten has to adjust to the speed.
The SEC has to adjust to the power.
And it's a little bit, I think, in that way.
But you go through these games.
This is the Big Ten.
There's no games.
I mean, Washington, Iowa's got Troy.
I don't even think Ohio State plays this weekend.
Michigan has Arkansas State.
They just decided to take this.
Can you imagine if you're Fox or CBS, who's now getting the leftover game in the Big Ten, this is the weekend schedule you have?
No, and I will say this too.
I've been one to be very critical of the NCAA because they just have some really, really goofy rules.
That Washington-Washington State game is evidently played at a neutral site, and neither team will be able to host any recruits for that weekend because the NCAA has a rule that you can't have recruits and neither team will be able to host any recruits for that weekend because
So Washington-Washington State plays a game when they would bring in kids from all over the Pacific Northwest and give them a lot of attention that weekend and show off their school.
But none of those kids can attend that game on an official- Why is that a rule?
I have no idea.
The NCAA has some of the dumbest rules on the- It's so dumb!
Well, eventually they'll all be gone and it'll be a mafia committee of all the top schools.
And they tried to get a waiver and the NCAA didn't grant them a waiver.
I mean, here's Washington and Washington State rotting away in the Pacific Northwest.
Let them host some kids.
Crazy.
Hey, speaking of which, we've got just a little bit more time this morning and I do want to dive in just a minute or two into this.
I have a little bit of a problem with it, but again, mine is more stylistic than anything else, though.
But is the question, is Nebraska actually back?
Could they, as I've heard Herbstreet and several others say, go into Ohio State 7-0?
No, no way.
I mean, I don't even know what the schedule is.
Hold on, I'm going to the schedule right now.
No way.
I mean, not with a true freshman quarterback.
Now, he's a stud and he's talented.
Okay, hold the phone.
True freshman quarterbacks at some point in the time of the season look like true freshman quarterbacks.
So they'll probably beat Northern Iowa.
They'll probably beat Illinois.
I feel like Purdue would be a sneaky one.
They're going to beat Rutgers because Jersey sucks.
And then they got Indiana.
Maybe.
You know what?
Maybe.
But I don't know.
That seems a bit like a stretch.
Yeah.
It's going to be interesting.
I think that's going to be the thing.
Pro, I know we got into NCAA. Back to the NFL just quickly.
Sam Darnold MVP? What?
No.
No.
You're sleep deprived.
But Sam Darnold, if the season ended today...
If the season ended today, or they got to play the Giants 16 more times, Sam Darnold for MVP. He would have more votes for MVP than Coach Cousins would.
Yeah, but Brock Purdy would win it.
All right, here we go.
Let's take a few picks here.
Let's do it.
One that we didn't even get a chance to talk about.
This is like the Browns have just become terrible.
But you got Browns-Jaguars at Jacksonville.
Give me the Jags.
I think that kid, Brian Thomas Jr., is an absolute stud.
Yeah, I mean, it's hard to...
I mean, I watched a little bit of that Cleveland game last week.
I mean, I can't with a straight face tell you that they're going to win a game until I see them play a lot better than they did last week.
Bring on Jameis Winston.
Yeah, I have a feeling if it looks anything like last week where Deshaun Watson was hitting the mascots on the sidelines on route, you could see Winston in by the end of the – if not by the end of this game, I think he could be out of a starting job by 34 feet.
100%.
They're gone.
49ers.
By the way, mine's Jaguars.
Covers.
Easy.
Jaguars cover.
49ers.
Vikings.
What's the spread?
Five and a half.
San Francisco, five and a half.
Oh, easy.
San Francisco by seven at minimum.
Yeah.
And look, San Francisco look good.
They look good.
I was surprised.
They look like nothing's changed.
Yeah, they look good.
Okay, I have you a fun...
Game here because I'm going to go first.
I'm going to pick.
Here's my dog of the week.
I think Saints take Cowboys.
I'll take the six on Sunday.
I think the Cowboys are still sugar high.
Where is it?
It's at Dallas, actually.
The best place for Dallas to choke.
Dallas in an absolute landslide.
Okay.
Jet, what do you think?
Ooh, dog of the week.
Oh, wow.
I am looking at right now.
I like...
Oh, man.
Well, who do you got in the Dallas game?
I don't want any of these dogs to win outright, but I tell you, I think Kansas City-Cincinnati is going to be a close game.
I like Cincinnati to cover at Arrowhead.
That's six points.
So, you know, that could go either way.
I mean, you know, so I'm going to take the Bengals.
What about Cowboy Saints?
Cowboy Saints.
Cowboys?
Oh, the star, baby.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Give me a break.
The star.
All right.
Here's one that nobody wants to watch, and we're not even going to pick it.
Giants and Commanders.
That's a terrible game.
I'm pretty sure they canceled that game, didn't they?
Forever?
They're not allowed.
Giants aren't allowed to play the rest of the season?
I would hope not.
I'm going to say it could end in a tie.
Drew Locke, baby.
It's so bad.
No, I mean, I'm taking Jaden Daniels over Daniels.
I'll go, Commanders.
All right, last two games, Sunday night and Monday night.
Bears, Texans.
Who you got?
Chip.
The Texans are going to win, but the Bears are going to look better on offense.
But the Texans are just in a better spot.
And look, let's not forget CJ Stroud.
Started last year 0-2.
I think Caleb Williams is going to send this year 0-2.
But then C.J. Stroud went on to have one of the better, you know, freshman campaigns, rookie campaigns of anybody we've seen.
I'm not predicting that for Caleb Williams because I think what C.J. Stroud did last year was exceptional and remarkable.
But it's a little early.
Caleb is still learning.
He's going to have a much better game Saturday, but Texans end up with the WF. James?
Yeah, give me CJ. That dude is slinging it to everybody.
I mean, even Stephon Diggs, who we were all nervous about, is getting the ball.
I think Texans more than cover, and I think Caleb Williams, the over-under for 150 passing yards, I'd take under.
Oh, he's going for 250. Don't get it twisted.
He's back.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, speaking of another game that is just going to be probably really painful to watch is the Falcons-Eagles on Monday night.
Falcons, by the way, historically never do well on Monday night.
They're almost as good as Kirk Cousins, and we decided to bring Kirk Cousins in for Monday night.
The Falcons don't do well on Sunday afternoon either.
No, we don't.
We do have that issue.
We just need Sunday night games.
So we bring in Kirk Cousins, who never wins primetime games, to go on Monday night and Thursday night, I think three or four times this year.
It's going to be a hell of a show for you.
You know what?
You know what?
As someone who was a Kirk O'Chain's fan, I'm going to give Kirk the benefit of the bet out.
He just needed a little bit of a run.
This week, two touchdowns to Drake London, a beautiful touchdown to Kyle Pitts, and they beat Philadelphia, I don't know, let's say 34-28, and Saquon has two touchdowns also.
Everything else, I think the Falcons are back.
I'm going to go for it.
Women, women, women.
James.
Hear me out, guys.
I believe in Kirk Cousins.
They had a bad run last week.
You need to stop using...
Legal recreational substances.
It's clearly got into your head.
There's nothing you can do about it because the moment you step outside, it's everywhere.
I will not be tested.
I still don't believe in Philadelphia, even though what I saw last weekend, I think the Falcons...
Listen, you've got to give Kirk a chance.
Kirk will save you, I promise.
He's capable of it.
It's not Kirk.
Kirk now is an Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
I mean, I hate him, but he is.
It's the curse of Steve Barkowski.
I love it so much.
Yeah, it is.
Look, I think the Falcons at least score better this week, but I still think they're going to probably – I don't – I think Philly covers, but it's simply because – maybe because of a touchdown or ten points.
It's six and a half to cover.
You don't really see much bigger than that in the NFL these days anyway.
It's the largest cover.
Yeah.
Look, if the Falcons do exactly what James says, then all of you who are playing me in fantasy football this week are over.
I'll just end it now, if that happens.
Wait, I'm playing you.
Yeah, that includes you.
Oh, no, no, no.
Falcons lose by 20. Yeah, if you give me Drake, London, and Pitts all have touchdowns, yeah, I'm going to be fine.
We'll get that.
All right, folks.
Real quickly, as we go around, got a lot coming up this weekend.
Thanks for everybody being a part.
We will be back joined together next week on Friday's Finest.
Got a lot of good stuff coming up.
With that, so with Chip and James, we say goodbye.
