What does it mean when we say art is woke?
There's been some controversy recently over the upcoming game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2; is it woke? I wanted to dig into the question, as well as address some other creative works which toe that line.

| There's been a lot of controversy recently over an upcoming video game, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, questioning whether or not the game has gone woke. | |
| And while it's impossible to say for sure until the game comes out, I think this is a false positive that a lot of people are getting. | |
| And I don't think it's the first false positive. | |
| The problem with the word woke is that it's not about a checklist. | |
| Having a black character or a gay character doesn't make something necessarily woke. | |
| For example, advocating against domestic violence is not woke. | |
| Saying that all men are rapists is. | |
| Defending gay rights isn't woke, but encouraging children to pursue risky sexual practices is. | |
| Fighting against bigotry isn't woke, but saying that all white men are racist, well, that is. | |
| You see, woke, woke is a Gnostic millennialist materialist cult that seeks to tear everything down. | |
| And so to expand upon that definition, materialist, they don't view any supernatural entities, any higher levels of existence. | |
| There's just meat and material and power that you can wield over it. | |
| There's no God above judging us or expecting us to live a particular way. | |
| So everything's permissible. |
