| Hey, Elliot Roger here. | |
| I'm just sitting in my car right now, enjoying the view of the beach. | |
| And my view has been ruined by this sight right here. | |
| Sitting right there on that bench is a young couple. | |
| I was enjoying such a nice view until they came and sat down and started kissing. | |
| At nine thirty p m on the evening of may twenty third, two thousand and fourteen, a young man by the name of Elliot Rogers went on a shooting spree in Isla Vista California, | |
| killing six and wounding seven, before dying as he ran from the cuffs. | |
| What could drive a man to such random acts of violence? | |
| Well, Rogers explains his motives in a video he uploaded right before the shootings. | |
| Hi, Elliot Roger here. | |
| Well, this is my last video. | |
| It all has to come to this. | |
| Tomorrow is the day of retribution. | |
| The day in which I will have my revenge against humanity. | |
| Against all of you. | |
| Almost sounds like a cheesy supervillain, doesn't he? | |
| Unfortunately, this is all too real. | |
| Let's go on with the video. | |
| For the last eight years of my life, ever since I've hit puberty, I've been forced to endure an existence of loneliness, rejection, and unfulfilled desires. | |
| All because girls have never been attracted to me. | |
| It's an injustice, a crime, because I don't know what you don't see in me. | |
| I'm the perfect guy. | |
| And yet you throw yourselves at all these obnoxious men instead of me, the supreme gentleman. | |
| Well, that's certainly the sort of thing we talk about in this corner of the internet, isn't it? | |
| You deny a man a family, deny him sex, deny him a career, and he's gonna go nuts. | |
| To put it simply, there'd be a lot less suicide bombers in the Middle East if they didn't have polygamous marriage. | |
| But in this case, in the case of young Mr. Rogers, there's quite a bit more going on. | |
| So let's continue with the video, and I'm going to get back to the whole men's rights thing towards the end of it. | |
| I will punish all of you for it. | |
| And I will slaughter every single spoiled, stuck-up, blonde slut I see inside there. | |
| All those girls that I've desired so much, they would have all rejected me and looked down upon me as an inferior man if I ever made a sexual advance towards them. | |
| You will finally see that I am, in truth, the superior one. | |
| The true alpha male. | |
| Well, now, I will be a god compared to you. | |
| You will all be animals. | |
| You are animals, and I will slaughter you like animals. | |
| I'll be a god, exacting my retribution and all those who deserve it. | |
| And you do deserve it. | |
| Just for the crime of living a better life than me. | |
| All you girls who rejected me and looked down upon me and, you know, treated me like scum while you gave yourselves to other men. | |
| And all of you men, for living a better life than me. | |
| All of you sexually active men. | |
| I hate you. | |
| I hate all of you. | |
| I can't wait to give you exactly what you deserve. | |
| Utter annihilation. | |
| Creepy little bastard, isn't he? | |
| Now I've seen analysis in some quarters that he is a narcissist. | |
| That this killing spree was an act of rage because of a perceived slight against his ego. | |
| He deserves beautiful women, and yet he cannot get them. | |
| I understand why people are making this analysis, but I disagree with it. | |
| And to explain why, it would be useful to go over the traits of a narcissist. | |
| Number one, the narcissistic shell. | |
| It's important to remember that a narcissist, even though they act with extreme charisma, extreme confidence, they're always bragging about their accomplishments, exaggerating themselves. | |
| On the interior, they are full of self-hatred and shame. | |
| They despise themselves. | |
| They feel like they don't live up to things, and so they've created this fake persona to wrap around themselves, and they desperately go and try and convince everybody that this narcissistic shell is the reality. | |
| The truth to a narcissist is only important if other people know it. | |
| It's all about creating the persona. | |
| And in the case of Mr. Rogers, yes, we do see something a lot like this. | |
| In fact, let's play a few clips from a different one of his videos. | |
| And my problem is girls. | |
| I do everything I can to appear attractive to you. | |
| I dress nice. | |
| I'm sophisticated. | |
| I'm magnificent. | |
| I have a nice car, a BMW. | |
| Well, it's nicer than 90% of the people in my college. | |
| You know, I'm polite. | |
| I'm the ultimate gentleman. | |
| I put a lot of effort into dressing nice. | |
| These sunglasses here were $300. | |
| Giorgio Armani. | |
| So I'll put them on. | |
| Look at how fabulous I look. | |
| And that's just such an injustice because I'm so magnificent. | |
| I deserve girls much more than all those slobs I see at my college who are somehow able to walk around with beautiful girls. | |
| I should be the one with the girls. | |
| I mean, look at me. | |
| I'm gorgeous. | |
| I was so insulted by that because I should be the one with the girls. | |
| It's so sad and depressing when I have to experience it all alone. | |
| And I have to watch other guys able to walk around and enjoy their lives with beautiful girlfriends at their side. | |
| And I can only imagine how amazing their sex lives must be. | |
| I've never had any sex or anything like that. | |
| Almost sounds like Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, doesn't he? | |
| Bragging about every accoutrement, every material good he has to show how he deserves women. | |
| Now what really stood out to me about this video and the previous video I showed is how his declarations about himself, he never qualifies them. | |
| He never says I'm a really good looking guy. | |
| He says I am the perfect gentleman. | |
| Again and again he makes these absolute statements about himself and this is where you see something a lot like the narcissistic shell. | |
| The narcissist is going to declare that they are the number one world expert on whatever it is they base their identity on. | |
| And they'll try and convince everybody else of that. | |
| And you can see a little bit of that in this kid right here. | |
| But there's another element to it as well, the entitlement complex. | |
| Now narcissists, although they will take what they want, they aren't prone to acting entitled, to asking for what they think they deserve. | |
| They just take it. | |
| They act boldly, and we'll get to that in a bit, whereas he's saying that he deserves it. | |
| He's entitled. | |
| And that's not a major narcissistic trait. | |
| Another one, another break from the narcissist is that at the end of the video there, he talks about how much he wants a woman to care about him. | |
| How lonely he is, how brokenhearted, how miserable. | |
| Whereas a narcissist, if a narcissist is going around claiming that he is the world's number one ladies man, he is going to be bragging about how many different girls are pursuing him all the time. | |
| Even though what he means by I had sex with a girl, what actually happened is a girl replied to his message on okay Cupid. | |
| He will exaggerate, he will lie, etc to convince everybody that he's a ladies man. | |
| And so although this kid does have a fake persona going on, it's not quite that of a narcissist. | |
| So let's get to point number two, narcissistic rage. | |
| Narcissistic rage is a result of piercing the narcissistic shell. | |
| If you're around a narcissist and you demonstrate absolute proof that they are lying, that their whole their claims about reality, their whole persona is false and made up, you will tap in directly to that ball of self hatred and shame, and it will explode outwards at you like a geyser. | |
| At this point, a narcissist loses all control. | |
| They are pure rage, and they can very well end up killing you if they can get away with it. | |
| If they aren't able to hurt you, if, for instance, they're small and weak, or if they are restrained by security forces, instead of narcissistic rage, what you will get is a narcissistic reset. | |
| That's where because they can't actually take their rage out on you, they will create a new narcissistic persona. | |
| So what Mr. Rogers did was not a case of narcissistic rage. | |
| There is too much planning for it. | |
| The rage of a narcissist is immediate and irrational and directionless. | |
| You know, a man who has his identity destroyed because he gets laid off from his job will go murder his wife and children and commit suicide. | |
| He'd murder the whole world if he could, but all he can really murder is his wife and children. | |
| So that's an immediate thing, immediate and irrational. | |
| This mass shooting was pre-planned. | |
| It was extensively laid out beforehand. | |
| He even did a YouTube video. | |
| And so this does not fit the profile of narcissistic rage. | |
| Although, it could possibly be a narcissistic reset where something triggered his rage, he wasn't able to act it out, and so he came up with this narcissistic reset as a supervillain. | |
| Although he's been acting like a supervillain for quite some time, so again, I find that somewhat unlikely. | |
| Number three, extravagant, overconfident behavior. | |
| Narcissists are the perfect cult leaders. | |
| They manage to convince everybody around them that they are the world expert at something, a promising the sky. | |
| And they get everybody to follow them because they take these huge jumps with so much confidence, even though in reality they don't know what they're doing. | |
| They're just constantly trying to convince others that they are the ubermensch, that they are the coolest guy alive. | |
| And so this is why they are so overconfident, so charismatic, so extravagant, is because they're not held back by their own limits. | |
| They wind up taking risks that a normal person would consider insane because everything is a lie for them. | |
| The normal person recognizes how good they are at something. | |
| If it's their first time riding a motorcycle, they're not going to say, hey, let me show you some tricks I can do. | |
| The narcissist will either show you some tricks or disdain motorcycling entirely. | |
| And so, again, when it comes to Mr. Rogers, well, let's watch this next clip. | |
| Yes, yes, because everyone calls your name, everyone is talking, everyone is there, so I said hello. | |
| We always meet producers, directors, and this kind of soirées are very, very important for me, in the sense that we need to... | |
| So here's this kid at a movie screening that his father brought him to. | |
| Good looking, rich, drives a BMW, and he's connected to the Hunger Games, the first movie. | |
| He should be flirting with every single woman that walks along if he is so incredibly confident about what an amazing gentleman he is. | |
| And yet he stands there completely still, not making contact at all. | |
| He does not have the charisma of a narcissist. | |
| Number four, acquires narcissistic supply under the radar. | |
| Now this is an important thing to realize about the narcissist, is that they are very hard to detect. | |
| They rely upon narcissistic supply. | |
| It's not enough for the narcissist just to imagine to themselves that they're some sort of amazing ubermensch. | |
| They need to convince the world of it as well. | |
| And generally they are quite good at doing this. | |
| If it doesn't work, they'll find a new niche. | |
| They will keep trying different personalities until they manage to get a group of followers. | |
| And mister Roger here does not seem to be able to do that. | |
| He does not have a following, and quite frankly, he has been called out for a long time. | |
| There's a bodybuilding forum that's currently scrubbing its database of all the posts by Elliot, but I managed to get some through the Wayback Machine. | |
| So the very first post by Elliot in a threat that he started. | |
| Seriously, today at my college I saw this short, ugly Indian guy driving a Honda Civic and he had a hot blonde in his passenger seat. | |
| What on earth is up with that? | |
| Does anyone else get disturbed and offended when you see sites like this? | |
| Someone makes sense of this ridiculousness. | |
| Next guy says Buy BMW expects the world to mire, which I presume means admire. | |
| Super kid says jealousy is a terrible trait to have, my friend. | |
| Arthur says, Dude's probably fun to be around. | |
| The secret to getting girls to be fun to be around. | |
| Seriously. | |
| Detog says, I see you got rid of those serial killer-esque videos on YouTube. | |
| And Elliot goes, You're just jealous of my beautiful eyes and cheekbones. | |
| Here's the thing is this guy was not pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. | |
| He was not running a cult whatsoever. | |
| And in fact, if you look at his Facebook page, if you go down it, he does nothing but post pictures of himself. | |
| And despite the fact that the term narcissist is derived from the Greek name narcissist, the guy that was so in love with his reflection he fell into a river, the actual disorder does not mean that you love yourself, it means you hate yourself. | |
| Vanity is not a symptom of narcissism. | |
| Ego is. | |
| And so with Elliot Roger, the overall picture just does not fit the profile of a narcissist. | |
| So what is going on with this kid? | |
| Well, let's rewatch one of those videos and watch his body language. | |
| While you may have taken note of his flowery language earlier, with the sound off, his body language can only be described as flamboyant. | |
| Some have speculated because of this that he is a closeted homosexual. | |
| But I don't think this is the case. | |
| I don't think he would be so upset over women if he were a closeted homosexual. | |
| No, he'd be upset over guys making fun of him. | |
| What I see here is a budding clinical misogynist. | |
| Now a misogynist, in the clinical sense, not in the way that certain groups like to yell at to silence others, but an actual psychological case of a misogynist is a man who was abused as a child by their mother and so desperately wants a woman's love and yet also finds that they can't trust women. | |
| And so they blame women for their own pain and they chase women away. | |
| If they manage to get a woman, then they try and break down her self-esteem so that she won't leave them. | |
| They're extremely cruel to women because of the cruelties that women have inflicted upon them. | |
| And when you listen to him talking about how badly he needs a woman's love, this kid really seems like he didn't get much love in his life. | |
| At some point somebody hurt him or they just didn't care about him, and so he developed into this unmasculine, lacking self-confidence, this Beta male that desperately wants love but has gone completely neurotic from the lack of it. | |
| So, no, this is not the killings of a narcissist. | |
| These are the acts of somebody who's gone neurotic from cold abuse and being ignored. | |
| Now, one of the arguments tossed around the game blogs, the manosphere, is that if more guys like this learned game, because we see, we are seeing an uptick in the number of shootings, especially men going after women. | |
| If more of these guys were to actually learn game, were to actually read the red pill blogs, despite what the feminists say about us hating women, if these guys actually read that and learned some game, that they'd be able to go out there and improve their lives. | |
| Except for this kid, that ship sailed ages ago. | |
| Turns out, are you ready for it, folks? | |
| Yep, Elliot was a member of the PUA Hate Forum. | |
| So no, he did not read Red Pill blogs. | |
| He did not read game blogs. | |
| He was not a member of this community. | |
| He was part of those omega degenerates over at the PUA hate group, who, their motto is Don't hate the game, hate the player. | |
| This kid clearly suffered some sort of abuse early in life. | |
| He never got any love, and his neuroses should have been obvious to anybody around him. | |
| Strangers on an internet forum could tell that he had problems. | |
| And yet nobody offered him love. | |
| Nobody offered him masculine accomplishment. | |
| You know, maybe he would have stood with his shoulders a little bit broader, a little bit straighter, and his gestures a little bit less feminine if he'd been challenged to do something masculine at some point. | |
| But no, this kid was just abandoned from what I can tell. | |
| Maybe it's the screwed up California parenting. | |
| Maybe it's the maybe it's the educational institutions that tell you it's okay to cry whenever you feel like it. | |
| Or quite possibly, maybe this kid was just born with a broken brain. | |
| I'm sure a lot's going to be made about this to try and attack the red pill blogs. | |
| And I'm sure they're going to try and use this to ban guns, even though the vast majority of mass shooters are liberals who are against gun control. | |
| Whatever. | |
| Just another sad event in this declining culture that we have. |
