Time Text
Four years ago, I published a video predicting a global conflagration in the spring of 2018.
This was based upon the theories of Strauss and Howe, their generational cycle, their book, The Fourth Turning.
It was based upon the extant forces I saw in the world at the time matching their predictions.
And now, four years later, I'm very worried that I was right.
Now, I'm making this video tonight because I was watching an interview with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, in which he said the exact same thing.
He sees things coming to a head.
A lot of people see things coming to a head.
And I think it's time to finally revisit that topic in detail and tell you what I'm seeing out there, but more importantly, what we can do about it.
Now, the reason I say this is a global conflagration is because it's a civil war.
A global civil war, which might sound like a contradiction at first blush.
But the interesting thing that's happened, the interesting thing is that with British colonialism or American internet or whatever it might be, the fact of the matter is that the generational cycles throughout the world have sinked to the British clock.
They've sinked to the American clock.
This is no longer a local phenomenon.
It is a global phenomenon.
And everybody I speak to, everybody I speak to, people in Thailand, people in Israel, everywhere you go, the situation is different.
The powerhouses, the players, the names of the political parties, they change from place to place.
For instance, feminism in Thailand is something entirely different than it is here, but ultimately it's the same thing.
Different players, different games, but the exact same breakdown into extremist camps.
Now, when I really started doing this, when I really started digging into politics and taking dangerous stances on different topics, back then, we had just seen the failure of Ron Paul, of libertarianism.
We'd seen a lot of people retreat into world building and anarcho-capitalism, into castles in the clouds.
And I was involved with the neo-reactionary movement.
And see, the neo-reactionary movement was observing the fact that for the longest time, To put it into the terms that Professor Peterson might use, politics, governance, language and communication had been replaced with the Simeon language of dominance hierarchy.
To put it in medieval terms, grammar and logic had been abandoned, and there was nothing left but rhetoric and bullying.
And so the neoreactionary movement was looking at this entire situation and trying to say, how can we govern this?
How can we transition out of this?
The left is completely out of control.
You know, it's become, it's very funny to me.
A little bit frustrating to me, but mostly funny that in this late stage, average people are finally beginning to wake up as to just how genocidal and psychotic and contradictory the left has become.
That they are demanding fried ice.
This was evident to me and many others years ago.
And we were actually working on trying to create actionable, actionable plans for how can we resolve this?
How can we govern a people steeped in democracy, in individualism, in marketing, and the latent narcissism of pop culture?
How can we deal with new technologies?
How can we deal with the fact that you're 12 hours away from anywhere in the world and 10 seconds away from talking to anybody, talking to anybody anywhere in the world?
How can we deal with all of this?
What are we supposed to do when the left wing has gone completely psychotic, completely postmodern, while the right wing is just following in their wake, apologizing for everything they do.
But that Halcyon era was not to last.
The poisons of this era infected the right, the alt-right, the alternative right.
It became that which it opposed.
It became populist.
became reactionary.
Be careful when you struggle with demons.
Be very careful when you struggle with demons.
When somebody wants to play a dominance game with you, the outcome isn't what you should be worrying about.
It's the game itself that you need to be worrying about.
And if you look at that person and you decide they are trying to crush me, I'm going to try and crush them, you are staring down into the dirt when you should be looking up at him.
So now we've got these two extreme sides, neither of which are interested in discourse, both of which are very angry and very miserable.
But there's no desire for discourse.
They don't want to resolve the problem.
They want to make the other side hurt.
Hurt as much as they hurt.
Peterson said something interesting in that video.
He said, when he was being accused of having these armies of trolls that were harassing this poor reporter at Channel 4, part of him, deep down inside, said, wouldn't it be great to have my army of trolls smash in all the windows on that building?
And there's part of me that wants nothing more than to see all the bankers and politicians and bureaucrats and hypocrites and criminals and filth hanging from lamp posts.
But here's the problem.
Here's the problem with taking all the scum and executing them.
Here's the problem with Duterte.
Because as I said at the very beginning of this video, this is not an us problem.
This is an everywhere problem.
So Duterte is going out and he's executing the drug dealers and the slavers and the pornographers and the prostitute runners and all of those vile humans.
And when you contrast that to the legal system we have here, where constant excuses are made, apologetics.
Well, there seems to be a drug problem involved, so we're not going to punish them.
We're going to toss them in prison for a month, and then they're going to be back out on the streets doing the exact same thing.
Part of me wants that Duterte solution.
Part of me wants the strong man that'll organize the right-wing death squads and get rid of this vermin.
But as I said, there's a problem with that.
And the problem is this.
Institutions are built up over generations.
Centuries, if not millennia, of effort goes into creating an institution.
And when you abandon, when you abandon hundreds of thousands of years of tradition...
and you decide that you're going to be the one to execute things exactly the way you want them to be.
There's no going back.
Part of me wants to love Duterte because he's doing what I would like to see done.
He is cleaning up the streets.
But you know, then I read what Duterte says.
I watch how he behaves.
his crassness, his own casual hedonism.
Duterte is not an inquisitor appointed by a lawful body.
Duterte is a loose cannon.
And right now that cannon is smashing into people that I don't like.
But you have to be an absolute fool to celebrate a canon careening around the deck.
Institutions are the most precious heritage our ancestors left us.
And the terrible thing that the left has done is pervert our institutions, is twist them.
They've turned education into indoctrination.
They've turned prison into criminal training.
They've turned the workplace into a nightmare.
And they've perverted democracy itself.
Because at their core, at their core, the leftist is a deeply unhappy person.
They are a person that feels that they have no place in the dominance hierarchy, that they're a loser.
And so they lie.
They lie about being more important than they are.
They lie about being cooler than they are.
They lie about everything.
They become narcissists, people of the lie.
They are as close as you will get to demons on this plane.
But like I said, be careful when you fight demons.
There is nothing demons like more than attention, positive or negative.
And so these demons of the left have been working ceaselessly to make good people miserable.
And some of these people got miserable enough to desire to vent their rage back onto the demons.
We're living in an age of false dichotomies.
Feminism, for example.
One of the popular things these days, amongst those that just recently woke up to the fact that our civilization is very sick, is to say that I support second-wave feminism, just not third and fourth wave.
But first wave feminism was sick.
But you can't have a conversation about that.
You can't discuss any of that because everybody already has a team they're on.
You've got the feminist team over here.
If you dare criticize anything about feminism, it must mean that you hate women.
But then you have the team over here that is so hurt by women that they do hate women.
And they attack feminism not because it is evil and wrong, but because they want women to hurt.
We've got this sick polarization going on right now and a complete inability to communicate, to speak, to have discourse.
And this very much is threatening to tear our civilization apart.
And it doesn't matter which side wins.
Both sides are full of petty little Robespierre tyrants.
So what the hell are we supposed to do about this?
First of all, first, you need to know how to fight demons.
You don't fight demons by dropping down to their level.
When you wrestle a pig, you get covered in shit, and the pig enjoys it.
Instead, what you do is speak the truth, because that's the best thing you can do.
You don't lie.
You don't play games.
You don't do what's expedient or easy or advantageous.
You do what is right.
Non nobis domine.
Non nobis.
Sed nomini tuo daglorium.
You don't beat the demons by stooping to their level.
You beat them by rising above.
And the other thing that we can do, educate yourself on the truth.
Speak the truth, even if it's hurtful.
Not for the sake of hurting, but speak it for the glory of God.
Speak it because the truth is beautiful.
The other thing we can do is refuse to participate in either side.
The left has wanted evil for quite some time.
And the new right wants the inverse but equal sort of evil.
What we do, even though we are caught between these two impossible forces, is continue to hold our ground.
Continue to speak the truth.
Continue to be decent human beings, to acknowledge our immediate loyalties, but to recognize the good Samaritan from another town, to have the eyes to see when we've encountered a brother.
One last interesting thing that Dr. Peterson pointed out.
He'd been researching that passage from the Bible The meek shall inherit the earth.
And see, that passage always bothered him because he points out weak men cannot be good any more than a man who is castrated cannot rape.
Strong men, men who are capable of great sin are the ones capable of great good.
And so what did this mean?
The meek shall inherit the earth.
Well, once again, the importance of grammar.
He researched it.
He looked into what the word meek meant.
And regardless of what it means these days, the correct interpretation of that passage is: those who have swords and know how to use them, but know also when to keep them sheathed shall inherit the earth.
This conflagration is going to come, and it's going to be ugly.
But so long as men of true valor and women of true decency hold their ground and keep their swords sheathed until the moment of battle arrives, this too shall pass.
And in spite of these idiots doing all they can to destroy our heritage, our institutions, our civilization itself, we will survive and we will rebuild.
Deus Fult, folks.
