CSPAN - Trump Remarks On Iran Aired: 2026-03-01 Duration: 07:27 === Bridging American Divide (06:39) === [00:00:00] C-SPAN, because I get to hear all the voices. [00:00:02] You bring these divergent viewpoints and you present both sides of an issue and you allow people to make up their own minds. [00:00:09] I absolutely love C-SPAN. [00:00:11] I love to hear both sides. [00:00:13] I've watched C-SPAN every morning and it is unbiased. [00:00:16] And you bring in factual information for the callers to understand where they are in their comments. [00:00:23] This is probably the only place that we can hear honest opinion of Americans across the country. [00:00:28] You guys at C-SPAN are doing such a wonderful job of allowing free exchange of ideas without a lot of interruptions. [00:00:36] Thank you, C-SPAN, for being a light in the dark. [00:00:42] Over the past 36 hours, the United States and its partners have launched Operation Epic Fury, one of the largest, most complex, most overwhelming military offensives the world has ever seen. [00:00:58] Nobody's seen anything like it. [00:01:00] We have hit hundreds of targets in Iran, including Revolutionary Guard facilities, Iranian air defense systems. [00:01:09] Just now, it was announced that we knocked out nine ships plus their naval building, all in a matter of literally minutes. [00:01:20] Iran's formerly supreme leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, is dead. [00:01:28] This wretched and vile man had the blood of hundreds and even thousands of Americans on his hands and was responsible for the slaughter of countless thousands of innocent people all across many countries. [00:01:45] Last night, all over Iran, the voices of the Iranian people could be heard cheering and celebrating in the streets when his death was announced. [00:01:56] The entire military command is gone as well, and many of them want to surrender into saving their lives. [00:02:05] They want immunity. [00:02:07] They're calling by the thousands. [00:02:10] Combat operations continue at this time in full force, and they will continue until all of our objectives are achieved. [00:02:18] We have very strong objectives. [00:02:22] They could have done something two weeks ago, but they just couldn't get there. [00:02:26] Earlier today, CENTCOM shared the news that three U.S. military service members have been killed in action. [00:02:34] As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. [00:02:43] Even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives, we pray for the full recovery of the wounded and send our immense love and eternal gratitude to the families of the fallen. [00:02:59] And sadly, there will likely be more. [00:03:02] Before it ends, that's the way it is. [00:03:05] Likely be more, but we'll do everything possible where that won't be the case. [00:03:11] But America will avenge their deaths and deliver the most punishing blow to the terrorists who have waged war against basically civilization. [00:03:21] They have waged war against civilization itself. [00:03:26] Our resolve, and likewise that of Israel, has never been stronger. [00:03:31] America is now, again, the richest, most powerful nation in the world by far. [00:03:38] But the only reason we enjoy the quality of life that we do and the freedom and security is we have done things that others are unable to do. [00:03:49] But it's because of warriors who are willing to lay down their lives to do battle with our enemies. [00:03:57] And they do battle better than anybody. [00:04:01] An Iranian regime armed with long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would be a dire threat to every American. [00:04:09] We cannot allow a nation that raises terrorist armies to possess such weapons. [00:04:15] It would allow them to extort the world to their evil will. [00:04:20] Not going to let it happen. [00:04:22] We're not happening to us, and we're not going to let it happen to others. [00:04:26] The United States has the strongest military the world has ever seen. [00:04:32] I rebuilt our military in my first term. [00:04:35] There's never been a military like we possess. [00:04:40] And frankly, there's nobody even close, but we are now using that military for good. [00:04:46] We want to have it for good purpose. [00:04:49] We're undertaking this massive operation not merely to ensure security for our own time and place, but for our children and their children, just as our ancestors have done for us many, many years ago. [00:05:04] This is the duty and the burden of a free people. [00:05:09] These actions are right and they are necessary to ensure that Americans will never have to face a radical, bloodthirsty terrorist regime armed with nuclear weapons and lots of threats. [00:05:23] For almost 50 years, these wicked extremists have been attacking the United States while chanting the slogan, death to America or death to Israel, or both. [00:05:36] They are the world's number one state sponsor of terror. [00:05:40] We are the world's greatest and most powerful nation, so we can do something about what they do. [00:05:46] These intolerable threats will not continue any longer. [00:05:51] I once again urge the Revolutionary Guard, the Iranian military, police, to lay down your arms and receive full immunity or face certain death. [00:06:01] It will be certain death. [00:06:04] Won't be pretty. [00:06:05] I call upon all Iranian patriots who yearn for freedom to seize this moment, to be brave, be bold, be heroic, and take back your country. [00:06:17] America is with you. [00:06:18] I made a promise to you, and I fulfilled that promise. [00:06:22] The rest will be up to you, but we'll be there to help. [00:06:26] Thank you. [00:06:27] God bless you to our incredible warriors. [00:06:31] And God bless the United States of America. [00:06:35] Thank you. [00:06:36] Best ideas and best practices can be found anywhere. === Agreeing to Civility (00:47) === [00:06:39] We have to listen so we can govern better. [00:06:41] Democracy depends on heavy doses of civility. [00:06:44] You can fight and still be friendly. [00:06:47] Bridging the divide in American politics. [00:06:49] You know, you may not agree with a Democrat on everything, but you can find areas where you do agree. [00:06:53] He's a pretty likable guy as well. [00:06:54] Chris Kins and I are actually friends. [00:06:56] He votes wrong all the time, but we're actually friends. [00:06:59] A horrible secret that Scott and I have is that we actually respect each other. [00:07:02] We all don't hate each other. [00:07:03] You two actually kind of like each other. [00:07:05] These are the kinds of secrets we'd like to expose. [00:07:08] It's nice to be with a member who knows what they're talking about. [00:07:10] You guys did agree to the civility, all right? [00:07:13] He owes my son $10 from a bet. [00:07:15] He is never paid. [00:07:18] That's fighting words right there. [00:07:20] I'm glad I'm not in charge for that. [00:07:21] I'm thrilled to be on the show with him. [00:07:23] There are not shows like this, right? [00:07:25] Incentivizing that relationship.
