CSPAN - Washington Journal Rep. Jim Costa D-CA Aired: 2025-12-10 Duration: 01:58 === Committee Decision Boundaries (01:57) === [00:00:00] They feel comfortable about, well, not just about the rules of engagement, but the knowledge of what is happening. [00:00:06] We have had 100,000 Americans that die each year. [00:00:12] That's just specifically on the question of that one specific video, you want it released only to committee and not to the American public? [00:00:22] I think that this committee would have an opportunity to see it and to change if they would choose that policy that's related to it. [00:00:31] I tend not to put all the videos out. [00:00:35] We have strong bipartisan agreement in Washington that both sides should know the exact story. [00:00:41] All right, that's Representative Pete Sessions, Republican of Texas. [00:00:44] Thanks so much for joining us today. [00:00:48] Welcome back to Washington Journal. [00:00:49] We are in open forum, but before we get to your calls, we're going to talk to Representative Jim Costa. [00:00:55] He's a Democrat of California. [00:00:56] He sits on the Agriculture Subcommittee. [00:00:58] He's a subcommittee ranking member, and he's also on the Foreign Affairs Committee. [00:01:03] Congressman Costa, welcome to the program. [00:01:05] Well, thank you very much, Rimy. [00:01:06] It's always good to be on C-SPAN and have an opportunity to communicate with your viewers. [00:01:12] As I said, you are on the Agriculture Committee, and just on Monday, President Trump announced a $12 billion farm bailout program. [00:01:22] What was your reaction to that? [00:01:25] Well, it's frustrating. [00:01:27] Let me put it very simply. [00:01:28] I'm a third-generation farmer. [00:01:30] I still actively farm in Fresno, outside of Fresno, California. [00:01:34] And, you know, we've been through these. [00:01:37] The House has been in recess, but is now gaveling back into session. [00:01:41] We take you there live here on C-SPAN. [00:01:44] Ordering the previous question on House Resolution 936, adoption of the House Resolution 936, if ordered, and the motion to suspend the rules and pass H.R. 3857, if ordered.
