[00:00:30] She's the executive director of the McCain Institute here to talk about the future of Russia-Ukraine and the war that is happening there. [00:00:37] I just want to share the front page this morning of the Wall Street Journal. [00:00:42] The Pentagon has quietly blocked Kiev's missile strikes on Russia. [00:00:49] What do you know about this policy? [00:00:51] What impact do you think this is having? [00:00:54] I mean, I think it's horrible. [00:00:55] We should not be tying Ukraine's hands behind their backs. [00:00:59] Their people are being targeted every day at an increased volume. [00:01:03] We're going to leave this to take you live to a discussion with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. [00:01:18] The first is that CSIS staff will serve as your safety officers at this event, so please follow our instructions should the need arise. [00:01:29] You would exit the same way you came in, right through those glass doors behind you. [00:01:35] And then the second is the president will speak in Korean with simultaneous translation, followed by a brief conversation with Dr. Hamry with consecutive translation. [00:01:47] And so you all have transmitters on your chairs. [00:01:52] It's channel two for English and channel 10 for Korean. [00:01:57] And at the end of the event, we will ask you all to please remain seated until the president has exited the room. [00:02:04] We will inform you when we are adjourned and can exit the conference hall. [00:02:13] So we're waiting for the president. [00:02:19] It's a nice day today. [00:02:21] Very nice weather. [00:02:26] Okay, okay. [00:02:35] They told me he's coming in three minutes. [00:02:37] This is going to be the longest three minutes of my life. [00:03:45] So could I ask you to please stand and give a warm welcome to the President of the Republic of Korea, President Lee Jae-myung. [00:04:14] Let me now please be seated. [00:04:16] Let me now turn the proceedings over to our President and CEO, Dr. John Hamry. [00:04:24] Thank you, Victor. [00:04:28] Well, let me just say a hearty welcome to all of you. [00:04:33] And let me say how surprised I am. [00:04:35] I mean, when we heard the President was coming the last week of August, you know, I thought, we'll never get anybody to show up. [00:04:44] You know, and here we've got an absolutely a full house. [00:04:48] And I think that reflects the importance of Korea to all of us.
