[00:00:53] He's a White House correspondent for USA Today. [00:00:56] Mr. Garrison, good morning. [00:00:58] Hey, good morning. [00:00:59] Thank you for having me. [00:01:00] First of all, for those who may not be in the know, exactly where are you in perspective to the White House? [00:01:05] Yeah, right on the front lawn of the White House on a cold morning over here. [00:01:10] It's the first morning of Trump 2.0. [00:01:14] And as you can see, you got the White House there behind me. [00:01:16] What's the agenda for this first full day? [00:01:19] Well, the big thing today is Trump is going to be welcoming to the White House House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate leader John Thune. [00:01:27] And they're going to really start laying out their plans for the long-discussed reconciliation package. [00:01:36] There's been, of course, a debate whether to have this in two different bills or one bill. [00:01:41] This is going to have the various tax policies proposed by Trump. [00:01:46] That includes, of course, continuing the Trump tax cuts from 2017. [00:01:53] And there's also going to, you know, in 52 days, the funding of the government runs out. [00:01:57] They're going to have to hash out an agreement on how to proceed from there. [00:02:01] Another topic of discussion is also the federal aid for the wildfires in California. [00:02:07] President Trump is going to be going to California to survey wildfire damage on Friday. [00:02:12] When it comes to the House and the Senate, how in agreement are, Mr. What's the President's preference as far as how reconciliation take place? [00:02:22] What is the perspective of the House and Senate currently? [00:02:25] Well, President Trump wants to have this all in one big package, one bill. [00:02:28] But in the Senate, Senate Republicans have talked more of a two piece of legislation track. [00:02:34] Johnson is going to be more on board with the one bill approach to this, but it remains to be seen how they're going to move forward. [00:02:42] That's going to be all part of what's discussed today here in the White House. [00:02:48] We've been showing our viewers at home several executive orders that were signed from inside the Oval Office.
