Too fast.
Please don't do that.
You know the story about winning.
No, no, we're going to win too much.
We're winning too much.
Please, let's stop.
People always love that one.
We'll do this with the wall.
Governor Abbott calls, sir, the wall is going up too fast.
We can't take it.
We just can't take it.
No, I think you'll be very happy if the wall goes up too fast, right?
But we'll get that dude and we'll work with you on that.
But it was a great decision by a great Texas judge, right?
And it was beautiful.
Beautiful.

We're going to leave the inauguration events from earlier today and take you live to C-SPAN's coverage of the evening's inaugural balls, taking your calls and comments.
greta brawner
Good evening from a cold and snowy Washington, D.C. C-SPAN's coverage of the second inauguration for President Donald Trump continuing this evening with live coverage of the official inaugural balls.
We began today with the swearing in, which was brought inside the Capitol Rotunda due to the frigid temperatures and went through the day with all the pomp and circumstance, including the inaugural parade.
We continue this evening.
We're live from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, D.C., site of the second of two of the three official inaugural balls that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump plan to attend.
On your screen is the Commander-in-Chief Ball.
We expect that the President and the First Lady will attend this ball first.
Let's listen in and watch.
unidentified
They rule through the night.
That our flag was still prayer.
All saved us and start strength.
The ball of the land of the free and the room of the rain.
greta brawner
The U.S. Marine Band warming up the crowd at the Commander-in-Chief Ball here in Washington, D.C.
We expect that President Trump, along with the First Lady, will attend this ball in honor of the nation's military and service members first.
And then they will go on to the Liberty Ball, which is for the President's supporters.
Later in the evening, we expect the two of them to attend the Starlight Ball, which is for the President's donors for all of the inaugural activities today.
We want to get your reflections, your thoughts on this inaugural day of the 47th President.
Here is how you can join the conversation.
If you live in the eastern central part of the country, dial in at 202-748-8000.
If you live in Mountain Pacific area, 202-748-8001.
We want to hear from you today from the day that began with a church service at St. John's Church here in D.C. that went to a ceremony at the Capitol, the swearing in, a luncheon with lawmakers, executive orders signed, inaugural parade, more orders signed at the White House, and the 47th President, along with the First Lady, will end their day with inaugural balls here in Washington, D.C.
Before we get to your thoughts on this inaugural day, we want to bring you back to the beginning when JD Vance and Donald Trump took the oath of office.
unidentified
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Associate Justice Kavanaugh to administer the vice presidential oath of office.
brett m kavanaugh
Please raise your right hand and repeat after me.
I, James David Vance, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.
unidentified
And allegiance to the same.
That I take this obligation freely.
That I take this obligation freely.

Or purpose of evasion.
And that I will well and faithfully discharge.
And that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office.
The duties of the office.
On which I am about to enter.
On which I'm about to enter.
So help me God.
So help me God.
Congratulations, Mr. Vice President.
...to administer the Presidential Oath of Office.

Please raise your right hand and repeat after me.
I, Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States.
And will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
The Constitution of the United States.
So help me, God.
unidentified
So help me go.

Congratulations, Mr. Trump.

Donald Trump
greta brawner
and JD Vance officially sworn in earlier today in Washington, becoming the 47th president of the United States.
It was a peaceful transfer of power, and we're getting your reflections on the day this evening.
While we wait for more festivities to take place, the Commander-in-Chief ball right there on your screen is the President and First Lady's first stop this evening.
They are expected to attend three inaugural balls.
There are several balls that are happening here in Washington, three official ones and numerous other unofficial ones as the party gets going here in the nation's capital.
Susan in Belleville, Illinois, and Independent.
Susan, good evening to you.
Your thoughts on this inauguration day.
unidentified
Oh, good evening to you as well.
I listened to the list of executive orders that Donald Trump was signing.
And I have to say, pretty frightening series of documents.
I just have two points to make.
I'll try to make them as quickly as possible.
I know there's other people waiting on the line.
But most of the ones they described were just like campaign promises.
You know, it was like one of them was executive order that we're going to make the cost of living affordable.
Without telling you how that's going to happen, that's just a campaign promise.
That's not an order.
That's not a directive.
greta brawner
All right.
Susan there in Illinois talking about the executive orders.
He was in the Oval Office right away this evening after leaving the inaugural parade at the Capitol One Arena.
He went to the White House, signed several executive orders, including one to lower the costs for Americans, talked about energy policy.
And of course, the news that several outlets are reporting on is that he also pardoned January 6th defendants.
1,500 commuted the sentences of 14 others.
There was also an executive order on TikTok and health care.
If you missed any of that signing ceremony, you can find it on our website at c-span.org.
Charlie, let's go to you in Carlos, Minnesota, in Independent.
Hi, Charlie.
unidentified
Hey, how's it going?
greta brawner
Charlie, your thoughts on this inauguration day.
unidentified
It's a great day in America.
Don't you agree?
greta brawner
What do you think?
unidentified
I'm asking you, don't you agree?
greta brawner
Well, this is a conversation with all of you, and you tell us what you think.
That's what we do here on the C-SPAN networks.
unidentified
Give me a smile.
It's a great day.
But you know what?
What I really called about was Joe Biden and all the pardons he gave his family today during the ceremony here.
And wow.
greta brawner
So Charlie, do you think we need to look at the pardon laws in this country, the presidential power to pardon?
unidentified
Well, absolutely.
Why would Biden wait until, you know, he was being relieved of being president and start pardoning his whole family?
I mean, they're all pretty guilty, aren't they?
greta brawner
All right, Charlie's thoughts there in Minnesota.
Connie in Tempmanville, West Virginia.
Connie, we saw a lot of pomp today and some policy mixed in as well.
What are your thoughts on this inauguration day?
unidentified
I was very proud.
I'm proud today to see America be America again.
I didn't want to die in the land that we were giving away, but I'm proud today.
And I thought everything was beautiful.
The speeches, everything, I followed it all day.
I work at the school and I wasn't at school today because of the weather.
And I've enjoyed this day.
I love the golden ages.
That is the ages that I'm in.
And when I seen them having their speech, and when they were talking, and the podium was an eagle, I thought, beautiful.
Never seen so much gold as I did when they were in that room.
And everything's just beautiful.
All right.
greta brawner
Connie's thoughts there in West Virginia.
CNN was reporting that the President and the First Lady have left the White House for the inaugural balls.
The first stop is the Commander-in-Chief ball there on your screen.
What we expect is to see the first couple dance together, remarks from the President.
We're also expecting a dance by the Vice President and the Second Lady of the United States and remarks by the Vice President as well.
After the Commander-in-Chief ball, they will go on to the Liberty Ball, both of them taking place at the Convention Center here in Washington, D.C. Later on in the evening, the President is expected to attend a third ball that's not open to the media, and that will take place at Union Station here in Washington.
Doreen in California, Doreen, we will hear from you next.
Your reflections of this inauguration day.
unidentified
Oh, I am just so excited and so happy.
I am so pleased.
I'm very proud to be an American today because I do know that things are going to get better.
They're going to change.
Our borders are going to get better.
The promises that he made, I believe him.
I don't believe that Trump is going to be saying something and not doing it.
He's going to have action, and we'll see how it all turns out.
But he will act upon all of his promises.
I know he will.
And I am just, it was beautifully done.
I think Melania, she is just such a wonderful personal lady.
And I can't be happier.
I watched it.
I tried as much as I could to watch every single part of it, but I did have to take a little brief time off.
But I am calling from California, and I know that he's going to do the best he can.
That's the kind of man he is.
He's a good man, and he came across as a really good, a good man and a good friend to all of us.
He's got all of our best interests at heart.
And it's very, very promising to me.
I'm thrilled.
I can't wait to have all of it.
I can't wait to see what's going to happen in our future.
It's going to all be good, I know.
greta brawner
All right, Doreen, watching all day today.
And it began very early this morning with a church service at St. John's Church here, just steps away from the White House.
Then the president went over to the White House for tea with President Joe Biden, the two of them motorcading to our nation's capital for the ceremony there and the peaceful transfer of power.
Donald Trump took the oath of office, becoming the 47th President of the United States.
There was lunch served and executive orders signed, an inaugural parade that was brought inside all of the festivities brought inside today here in Washington for the first time in 40 years because of the frigid temperatures.
C-SPAN covered it all.
So if you missed any of it, unlike Doreen, who watched it all, you can find it on our website at c-span.org or our free video mobile app, C-SPANNow.
Tonight, we are covering the inaugural balls here on C-SPAN, and we're waiting for President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, along with the Vice President JD Vance and his wife, to attend the Commander-in-Chief ball and then on to the Liberty Ball.
Debbie in Clyde, Texas, Republican.
Hi, Debbie.
unidentified
Hi.
greta brawner
We're listening to you, Debbie.
Go ahead and share your thoughts on the day.
unidentified
Oh, it's wonderful.
I agree with everyone.
It's the best day, and there's so much hope now because he's going to get America back to what it was before because it was, we're in dire need of a president, and he's going to, I believe him, you know, I truly believe him.
Just like Friday, he's going to Los Angeles to that catastrophe.
And he's going to make sure the people in North Carolina have what they need and rebuild and all the things.
And the people he's chosen for his cabinet, they're being confirmed, and they're good, honest people.
Yeah.
greta brawner
Marco Rubio confirmed earlier today.
unidentified
And Pete Hegseth, too.
He was confirmed on a split decision.
So, yes.
greta brawner
So you're excited about what's coming next from this second Trump administration.
unidentified
Yes, I am so excited because he's not one.
He doesn't speak that much.
And he's not one to be idle.
And he is really for the American people.
He doesn't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican.
He doesn't care.
He's just for the people of America.
And he showed it.
And he showed it before, and he's showing it now.
And people, if they will just have an open mind and not be so critical of him, they will see what he's going to do.
And he's going to be there for anybody and all people.
greta brawner
All right, Debbie, and I'll just share what you were saying.
Pete Hegseth was confirmed.
He's one step closer.
This is from NBC Senate Armed Services Committee.
Advances Pete Hegseth's nomination to lead the Pentagon.
And as you were saying, Debbie, it was a long party line vote.
NBC saying a cloud of controversy has hung over Hagseth, but he now appears to be on track to be confirmed as Trump's defense secretary.
Rudy, North Hollywood, California.
unidentified
Hi, Rudy.
Hi.
Good evening.
Thank you.
Hi, good evening.
Wow, it feels great to be an American today.
And I'm just really excited about, you know, the future right now.
I'm a California native.
greta brawner
Well, what do you want President Trump to do first?
unidentified
Well, I want him to come to Los Angeles and clean up our voter rolls.
You know, LA County has not had honest elections in many, many years.
I'm looking forward to seeing President Trump when he comes to Southern California later this week to survey the fire damage.
I think the media is suppressing Hexa's advancement to the Senate nomination.
That happened five hours ago, and we haven't heard anybody talking about it, really.
So I think there's going to be some challenges.
But if people just would understand how much they lost over the past four years, their freedom of speech, their ability to work if they didn't get a mandated vaccination.
If you didn't live in Los Angeles County over the last four years, you have no idea what it was like.
It was just awful.
And the fires haven't the fire situation in Los Angeles County is just a terrible, terrible thing.
And I don't think people understand how bad it is.
And our city government, our county government, our state government is going to use it as an example as an excuse not to do anything to improve the quality of life for Californians that have been struggling over the last four years under the previous administration.
So I'm thrilled that it's the dawning of a new era.
And I hope that people will give President Trump and his cabinet a chance to see what he can accomplish because he is a man of the people and has good intentions.
Thank you very much.
greta brawner
All right.
And you are seeing the Commander-in-Chief ball there on your screen this evening.
That is where the President is expected to make his first stop to celebrate with his supporters, military and service members at this ball, his supporters at the Liberty Ball, and then donors at a ball later this evening.
The entertainment tonight at the command, that's the Liberty Ball on your screen.
The entertainment for the Commander-in-Chief ball includes country artists Rascal Flatts and Parker McCollum.
The entertainers for the Liberty Ball include Jason Aldean and the disco group, The Village People.
You know, the president is a fan of the song YMCA, played at many of his campaign events, and the village people were at his rally that took place last night at the Capitol One Arena in Washington.
The inaugural events kicking off this weekend and continuing today here on this January 20th, 2025.
And Mike in Atlanta, Maryland, Republican, we'll hear from you.
unidentified
Hey, thanks for having me.
I think everything is great.
I watched it from the beginning.
He was the first president I voted for, and that was like the most peaceful four years I've had.
You know, I could live Port Dams, which is cool.
So I think he's going to do great this time.
greta brawner
What do you want him to focus on first, Mike?
unidentified
Basically, just lowering housing so we can afford stuff with the American people that I live.
I think he's going to do it.
greta brawner
All right.
Lowering the cost of what, Mike, food?
unidentified
Cost of living.
greta brawner
Cost of living.
unidentified
Cost of living in dinner, yeah.
greta brawner
All right.
Marcus, Lancaster, California, Republican.
Hi, Marcus.
Marcus in Lancaster, California, Republican.
unidentified
How are you, dear lady?
greta brawner
Hello, it's your turn.
unidentified
Hi.
Hello.
Hi.
Can you hear me?
greta brawner
We can.
unidentified
Okay.
Yeah, I enjoyed the whole parade inside.
You know, I went to sleep for five seconds and I heard a cadence from a similar town I lived in in Tennessee near McMinnville.
I think it was Smyrna.
And that woke me up and brought back some memories.
I'm appreciative that Trump won.
It's been a hard time in LA for a lot of people.
And I've been, you know, working in helping the homeless out.
And the first thing I'd like him to do is really take care of the gang situation.
I take care of my wife.
I'm 53.
And I went to the store the other day and got attacked by one.
But when I called 911, I got a three minutes response time.
And I got out of there with my life.
And I think Trump is going to support life.
And I appreciate that.
And that's really all I got to say.
I've been, I voted for him twice, and he's been nothing but straightforward.
I know the media shenanigans and stuff, but you know, when this war has been going on a long time, it's a little thing, and people really have to have clarity to really do their own research.
And I've had to do that myself, and it made me more independent.
And I think that provides independence in our country and individuals.
And I think that's a great thing.
greta brawner
All right.
Marcus, were you watching earlier today when he was in the Oval Office for the first time since becoming the 47th president?
Were you watching?
Marcus in California?
unidentified
I was watching.
Yeah, hi.
Can you hear me?
greta brawner
Yeah, what did you think?
Can you hear me now?
What did you think of that discussion that he had with some of the reporters in the room?
unidentified
I thought he is straightforward.
He's trying to get everybody to have a responsibility of you have a mic in your hand and you have a responsibility to tell the truth about what is witnessed.
And facts matter, you know, and that's important to people that are hanging on in despair.
And I'm strong, but I mean, I know the other people that we help, you know, they're not that strong.
And they're trying to depend on somebody to tell them something and they feel abandoned.
All right.
greta brawner
Marcus, I will leave it at that point and just let others know if you missed the Oval Office executive signing.
The president did that earlier this evening after the inaugural parade and executive signings there at the convention center in Washington or the Capitol One Arena, excuse me.
Then he went to the White House, signed more, and he talked about each one that he was signing.
He answered questions from reporters that were in the room, talked about a lot of different topics.
So if you missed that, find it on our website at c-span.org, our free video mobile app, C-SPANNow.
Part of one of those executive orders was the pardoning of January 6th defendants, 1,500 commuting, 14 sentences.
He spoke about that as well.
Right now on your screen is the U.S. Marine Band, and they are warming up the crowd at the Commander-in-Chief Ball, waiting for the 47th President of the United States and the First Lady, Melania Trump, to come to the first stop of the evening.
The first ball for them, the Commander-in-Chief ball.
We expect a dance and some remarks.
While we wait, Matt in Boston Spa, New York, Democratic caller.
Matt, your reflections on this day.
unidentified
Yeah, hi.
Thank you.
First, I'd like to say happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
He was a great man.
Also, I'd like to thank all the military people that protect this country.
I would also like to say thanks to everyone.
And now I would like to go on before I get cut off.
Hopefully I don't get cut off.
But I'd like to say thanks for all the U.S. people out there who do good and say please and thank you and do everything.
Now I'd like to go on about saying about how President Trump is going to release the people that attacked January 6th House, the White House.
What if Mara Largo got ransacked?
Would that be okay?
That'd be a question of mine.
You're probably going to cut me off.
greta brawner
We're still listening, Matt.
Finish up your thoughts.
unidentified
He got shot in the ear, but there's no injury there.
That confuses me.
Once again, you can't see Milani's face, his hidden.
I know you're going to cut me off.
greta brawner
All right.
We'll go on to Dan.
Let's hear from Dan in 50 Lakes, Minnesota, Independent.
Dan.
unidentified
Hey, thanks a lot for what you guys have done.
C-SPAN, you helped change my life when I was primary caregiver for my mom.
Turned me on to C-SPAN when you put Trump on in the debates when he was first coming in to try to win the primaries and how everybody joked on him.
Couldn't stand him or his family or his kids and the apprentice.
My mom and I would laugh.
And then I watched and saw what this guy was doing.
He doesn't need the money.
And you saw how hard they came after him and what he's doing to shake things up and exposing some of the stuff that's coming out.
These people are all freaked out.
So it's really interesting to see today just how happy people were at the ball at the shot or luncheons and stuff after you guys were getting or they're getting off air.
You showed all that stuff.
greta brawner
Yeah, and Dan, we spoke to some people too who came here to Washington.
I want to show you what folks told us.
Our cameras went out today to talk to folks who had traveled into Washington for these inauguration festivities.
Take a look.
unidentified
Hi, I'm Tracy Richardson.
I'm from Ohio.
I came here because I love this country.
And I hope my hope for the future is that we will be who we've always been, a free, caring people where we work with one another for good for not just our country, but really for the whole world.
And I am also a former military, so I really hope that we can take care of our military.
I'm John Smith.
I'm from Southern California.
A real blue state, but certainly it's turning red for Donald Trump.
I think he's uniting the country.
I think what's most important and what he'll do today is going to seal the border and he's going to open up also drilling.
He's going to be hard on crime and the economy is going to come back.
And I think it's going to be very, very quickly.
Donald Trump does a lot of magic things to me and I think that that's most important.
And over the next four years, I think we're going to see the golden age of prosperity.
And people got to hold on as this is going to be a good ride.
You're going to see people be able to afford houses again.
I think that's great.
So I think the economy is going to boom.
It's going to help the middle class.
The middle class will boom again under Donald Trump for sure.
Hi, so my name is Donna Koch and I'm from New Jersey.
My name is Bogusha Stopka.
Also, I came from West Meadow, New Jersey.
And we came here to the inauguration because we really want to see peace in the world.
We want to see peace in the Middle East and we really want it to be respected and the number one nation in the world like we've been thus far.
So we want to see these positive changes.
My name is Griffin McCarran.
I am from Venice, Florida.
I've been supporting Trump since around 2021.
Saw Joe Biden come into office, realized kind of screwed things up, understood that Trump was a much better president.
Then we went through his administration and I really started to realize he's a better president.
And the biggest thing I'm looking for is probably the border.
Lots of crime, drugs, Vietnam, homelessness in our great cities.
I think that if we can close our border and get deportations going, we'll have a much cleaner and safer country.
greta brawner
Supporters of President Donald Trump who have traveled to Washington today for the inauguration of the 47th president, we are waiting for him and the First Lady Melania Trump to attend the Commander-in-Chief ball.
That is the scene on your screen.
We are live there inside the Washington Convention Center.
The Marine Band is warming up the crowd.
You can see folks are getting excited in anticipation of seeing the president and the first lady.
We expect them any minute.
While we wait, we are getting your thoughts on Inauguration Day.
Debbie is in South Carolina, Republican.
Debbie, what did you think of today's events?
unidentified
It's been an awesome day.
The best inauguration I've ever saw.
Loved it.
Yay, Trump.
greta brawner
And you loved it.
Why?
unidentified
Because I loved his speech, everything about it.
I mean, he just, I love Trump.
He is the best ever.
Trump and Vance is great.
greta brawner
Debbie, did you think about traveling to Washington for today's inauguration?
unidentified
Yeah, I should have.
We watched it all day.
I take care of this little 87-year-old man, and he actually cried when he got to Warning.
He was crying.
It was the greatest day ever.
greta brawner
All right, Debbie in South Carolina.
Charlie's a Republican in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Hi, Charlie.
Go ahead.
unidentified
How are you doing?
Thank you for taking my call.
I just want to just express that the inauguration was wonderful, and it just shows how much our system can work.
People have got to have hope.
People have got to have feelings that our system works.
And this is a true testament today of our system working.
And we have to look forward to everything that Donald Trump and this new administration is going to bring.
It's hope.
It's the system working.
And we really, really depend on the man.
greta brawner
Charlie's thoughts there.
Republican in Florida.
We'll go to Newport Beach, California.
Christy, also Republican.
unidentified
Christy, your turn.
Hello, everybody.
I am happy for my grandchildren that they will have a chance now to live in a country that was what it was always expected to be.
And Donald Trump doesn't have a lot of need to be in one party or the other.
He really represents all of us.
When my youngest grandson was eight years old, Trump was elected.
And Jake has been a fan ever since.
So we have a future, and our grandchildren and our children have a future.
Thank you, Donald Trump.
greta brawner
All right, Christy's thoughts there from California.
Leona and Cedar Key, Florida, and Independent.
Hi, Leona.
unidentified
Yes, hello.
Thank you for taking my call.
I am an Independent.
I have voted Democrat and Republican.
I am so proud to be an American.
This is a historic event that all people.
greta brawner
All right, Leona.
Hail to the Chief is playing.
Let's go live to the Commander-in-Chief inaugural ball.
unidentified
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the 47th President of the United States, President Donald J. Trump, the party leader.

With truth, Well,
donald j trump
thank you very much.
This is a great honor.
donald j trump [ai]
We have a lot of Space Force here, by the way.
donald j trump
A lot of Space Force.
We're very proud of Space Force.
But there's nowhere else I'd rather be tonight than with some of the greatest American patriots of all, the men and women of the United States military.
Thank you very much.
This is quite a gathering, huh?
It's a celebration because we're going to turn our country around.
We're going to make America great again.
I've had no higher privilege in life than to serve as your Commander-in-Chief, not once but twice.
And you're incredible, and the people of our people of our country respect you and they love you so much.
You don't see it, you don't hear about it too much, but they love you just so much, you wouldn't even believe it.
So, thank you very much.
They're honored to have you.
We're joined this evening by the service members from every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, and Space Force.
And I salute you all.
Let me also thank our incredible military spouses, what you have to put up with.
They put up with a lot.
And family members here tonight, we have so many and so many brilliant families.
And you do more than anyone else to support our nation's heroes.
And on behalf of every American, I want to thank you very much.
We have some people with us tonight.
You know, we have the head of the Republican Party, and we won.
And then she said, All right, Dad, I think that's enough for me now.
Let's win and let's go to something else.
See, she wants to get back to her beautiful babies.
But she's married to a guy known as my son, Eric Trump.
And Laura was essentially chairman, along with Michael Watley of the Republican Party, and they were tough.
They weren't going to stand for any nonsense, and they did a fantastic job.
And we won every single swing state.
We won the, you know, we won the popularity.
We were the most popular candidate in a long time.
And I have to tell you, with the military, we really won.
I want to thank, obviously, a tremendous supporter of yours.
And if I ever got out of line, she'd get me right back in line when it comes to you.
Melania, first lady.
She's been fantastic.
And our vice president, you know him well.
He's all about you.
He's a big believer in our military.
JD Vance and Usham.
And I have other family members here.
Don's in there somewhere, and Ivanka's there.
Where is Ivanka?
There's so many people.
But we have a lot of family members.
Tiffany is here.
Baron was with us today.
He's that tall one, I will tell you.
And he's doing a good job.
But today we celebrate the enduring strength and resilience of our glorious republic.
And so it's highly appropriate that we also honor the men and women who keep us safe.
And that's what you are.
Your bravery.
Your bravery inspires us.
Your service unites us.
And your sacrifice and spirit protect us all.
We made a little speech today.
I think you probably saw it.
Who did see it or hear it?
Did anybody?
Well, I think we said a lot, and we said more than anything else that we love you, we respect you so much, and we have a big commitment to each and every one of you starting today.
America will be stronger and greater than it's ever been before.
That's happening forever.
That was a big win.
That was a tremendous win.
We all worked hard for it.
And a big part of the reason that I won was because of my relationship with you.
So we appreciate it.
Under the leadership of our next Secretary of Defense, who I just saw, Pete Hakeseth, who's fantastic.
Where is Pete?
I saw him backstage.
I don't know.
There's so many people.
How do you find anybody in this crowd?
This is a big crowd.
But if Pete's around, if Pete can hear this, come on up here, Pete.
But we will again build the most powerful military the world has ever seen.
We're going to have it.
You know, we did that four years ago, and then it was a little bit dissipated.
But we're going to do it again, but much bigger, much stronger than ever before.
We're also doing the Iron Dome, all made in America.
We're going to have a nice iron dome.
You're going to protect us with the use of the iron dome.
Instead of worrying about political agendas, you don't have to worry about that at all.
There's only one focus, defeating America's enemies.
We're not going to be defeated.
We're not going to be humiliated.
We're only going to win, win, win.
We're going to win, win, win.
And we really do have some just incredible people working with us.
So I've been looking around for generals like George Patton, Douglas McArthur, Ulysses S. Grant.
His stock has gone way up in the last 20 years, wouldn't you say, JD?
They used to say bad things about him.
Now all of a sudden he's very well respected.
But we all fight to win, and we're going to win, and we're going to win like never before, in many ways.
Economy, the economy is going to be strong.
We're not going to let all of our nations, our friendly and unfriendly nations, push us around from any standpoint, including the economy, because we have something that they don't have.
We have a power that they don't have.
Liquid gold under our feet, the likes of which no other nation has.
Yet as I said in my inaugural address, we will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into.
It's called peace through strength.
unidentified
We won't have to fight the war.
Right?
donald j trump
We don't have to fight the wars.
If we can do it without fighting, as long as we have total victory, we do it without fighting through our power and might.
We will lead the world to peace.
Our friends will respect us.
Our enemies will fear us.
And the whole world will admire the unrivaled greatness of the United States military.
And I will tell you, we made big strides.
We totally rebuilt the United States military 2017, 2019, 2018.
We rebuilt the entire U.S. military.
And now, we're going to do it again.
A lot of it's been dissipated by people that don't know what the hell they're doing.
But we're going to do it again.
And this is going to be the dawn of the golden age of America.
This is the golden age of America.
And tonight, I'm filled with optimism for what lies ahead over the next four years.
We will replenish the pride of our armed forces, end the recruitment crisis.
And by the way, the recruitment numbers are through the roof in the last two months.
I wonder why.
Why?
I don't.
Why the hell are they through?
You know, you have a little problem with recruitment.
That's not good.
And now the numbers are higher than they've just about ever been.
You know why?
They love what they see for the future of our country.
And they didn't love what they were seeing for the last four years.
It was ridiculous.
It's a big thing, actually.
This big story is that recruiting has gone really through the roof.
And that's good.
I want to thank every service member here tonight and across the globe to know that you're at the heart of America's greatness.
It's an exceptional honor to join you again in serving this magnificent nation that we all love and that we're going to make greater, better, bigger, stronger.
We're going to make it something that even you will be surprised.
You'll see that.
And it's going to be led by our great military, the strength of our military.
We're going to make our military so strong that we don't have to use it.
Wouldn't that be good?
We don't have to use it.
They'll look at us and they'll say, there's no way.
There's no way we're going after that one.
So I want to just say to you, God bless you.
God bless our armed forces.
God bless our men and women serving overseas.
And God bless the United States of America.
unidentified
Thank you.
donald j trump
They say we have some troops from South Korea, and I have no idea how we're getting them on this screen.
I've been waiting for it for about two seconds.
Oh, here it comes.
No, that's a cake.
Hello, everybody.
How are we doing over there?
How's Kim Jong-un doing?
How are you?
unidentified
Lieutenant, how do you hear me?
donald j trump
That's a good-looking group of people, isn't it?
Thank you for being with us.
Yes, I hear you fine.
unidentified

Profound honor to stand before you today, representing our incredible team here in Korea.
We're deeply grateful for this opportunity to be part of this occasion.
Sir, on behalf of the brave men and women who serve under my command, the thousands of dedicated service members that are part of the joint team in Korea, congratulations on your victory as the 47th president of the United States.
Welcome back, Mr. President.
We'd be privileged to host you here in Korea soon.
You can see firsthand the fality of our soldiers here, how our formations are, our fight tonight's focus, and our ironclad commitment to the defense of Korea and our homelands.
To meet the families who serve alongside our warfighters, sir.
donald j trump
Pacific victory, sir.
How about that?
So, could I ask you, how is it going in South Korea right now?
How's it doing?
You have somebody with pretty bad intentions, I guess.
You know, you would say that, although I developed a pretty good relationship with him, but he's a tough cookie.
How is it going over there?
How is it doing?
unidentified
Sir, every day we train, we stay hard, we plan for anything that you possibly could need us to do.
The alliance is strong, and we're ready to receive you, Mr. President.
donald j trump
Well, thank you very much.
This is really, this, is this man Central Casting or what?
unidentified
If I'm doing a movie, I pick him to play my lead.
donald j trump
I want to thank you all very much.
What a good-looking group of people.
donald j trump [ai]
And we are very secure when we have people like you in our military.
donald j trump
And we're having a beautiful time in Washington.
We just had that great election that you alluded to.
It was a big one.
It was a very big win.
We won everything.
We won just about everything.
The only thing that matters, though, is we won with the military, the likes of which nobody's seen before.
unidentified
So that's really good.
donald j trump
But I would like to just thank you all, and I'll see you soon.
If anybody would like to make a statement, please do so.
If you'd like to say something, you have a big group of people.
We have all night, right?
We have all night.
If anybody would like to make a statement, go ahead.
unidentified
Oh, sir.
donald j trump
That is great.
You see that?
They're not going to play games with you.
That's good.
I like to see that.
Nobody's playing games with that man.
Have a good time, everybody.
Say hello to everybody over there.
I have a lot of friends in South Korea.
And great job.
You look really sharp, really special, and you are a special guy.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
unidentified
Thank you, Mr. President.
donald j trump
Thank you very much.
That's great, isn't it?
That's great.
But you're great.
Thank you all very much.
Have a great time.
Commander-in-Chief, this is the ball.
This is the big one.
This is the first one I stopped at.
I hope the other ones don't hear me say that.
But this is the one.
And now we're going to cut a cake.
And they said, could you be very, very careful, sir?
Don't cut the plane, which is cake.
Cut the runway.
I think that's a good idea.
Thank you very much.
We love you all.
Thank you.

unidentified
I'll say young man.
victor willis

And I'm sure you will find me to have a time.
It's for the state of the world.
unidentified
It's for the state of my CA.
Let them have a movie.
Let me be your enjoyment.
victor willis

But you've got to know this won't be coming.

unidentified
I said you're in.
victor willis
Put your mind on the shelf and just go there.
Don't know why I'm taking it.
unidentified
I'm so bad.
I need you to make it.
It's what I'm standing for.
It's fall, staying through high and see They have never made my duty for my voice.
It's gonna stay in the eyes.
