CSPAN - President-Elect Trump Delivers Remarks at Gala Aired: 2024-11-15 Duration: 26:51 [00:00:00] Of vaccines and fluoride usage in public water sources. [00:00:04] He previously ran for president as an independent candidate before withdrawing from the race this summer to endorse Mr. Trump. [00:00:11] Now, also, former Georgia Congressman Doug Collins has been chosen to serve as Veterans Affairs Secretary. [00:00:16] He is a veteran, having served in the Navy and the Air Force Reserve. [00:00:20] And former North Dakota Governor Doug Bergham has been picked to head the Interior Department. [00:00:25] Mr. Bergham also ran for president in 2024 before dropping out and endorsing Mr. Trump. [00:00:31] All three will be subject to Senate confirmation. [00:00:37] President-elect Donald Trump spoke at an America First Policy Institute gala from Mar-a-Lago in Florida. [00:00:42] He reflected on the recent election and announced former North Dakota Governor Doug Bergham as his choice for Interior Secretary. [00:00:49] Mr. Trump was introduced by actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone. [00:00:53] It's about 25 minutes. [00:00:57] When I did Rocky, if you remember the first image was a picture of Jesus that says Resurrection AC Club. [00:01:05] I found a church that had been converted to a boxing ring. [00:01:09] So the image pans down from Jesus onto Rocky being hit. [00:01:14] And at that moment, he was a chosen person. [00:01:17] And that's how I began the journey. [00:01:19] Something was going to happen. [00:01:20] This man was going to go through a metamorphosis and change lives, just like President Trump. [00:01:34] We are in the presence of a really mythical character. [00:01:38] I love mythology. [00:01:40] And this individual does not exist on this planet. [00:01:44] Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off. [00:01:46] So I'm in awe. [00:01:51] And I'll just say this, and I mean it. [00:01:55] When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. [00:02:03] Because without him, you can imagine what the world would look like. [00:02:07] Guess what? [00:02:07] We got the second George Washington. [00:02:09] Congratulations. Thank you. Bye. [00:02:20] And I'm proud to be an American. [00:02:24] Where at least I know I'm free. [00:02:27] And I won't forget the men who died. [00:02:36] And I'm proud to be an American. [00:02:39] Please welcome the President of the United States. [00:02:43] Trump! [00:03:24] Across the plains of Texas. [00:03:27] From sea to shining sea. [00:03:30] From Detroit down to Houston and New York to MLA. [00:03:36] Where there's pride in every American heart. [00:03:40] And it's time we stand and say that I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. [00:03:53] And I won't forget the men who died who gave that life to me. [00:03:59] And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. [00:04:06] Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land. [00:04:12] God bless the USA. [00:04:20] And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. [00:04:27] And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that life to me. [00:04:33] And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. [00:04:42] Because there ain't no doubt I love this land. [00:04:47] God bless the US land. [00:04:59] Thank you very much. [00:05:00] Wow. [00:05:02] Well, thank you, Sly. [00:05:03] You know, Sly does not do that. [00:05:05] He doesn't do that stuff. [00:05:07] And he did a beautiful job. [00:05:08] And I want to thank you and John Voigt for being here, John. [00:05:12] The great fight movies. [00:05:14] I think Sly has a lot of them. [00:05:16] John has The Champ. [00:05:17] What a movie that was, right? [00:05:19] But I want to thank everybody for being here. [00:05:21] You know, when Mrs. Post and E.F. Hutton, her husband at the time, when they built Mar-a-Lago many years ago, the Roaring 20s, it was the Roaring 20s, and we're hotter right now than they ever were in the Roaring 20s, I believe. [00:05:35] It was going to be a lot hotter, but we're going to keep it going. [00:05:37] We're not going to have 1929 happen. [00:05:41] Although, if it would have continued the way it was, it might not have been too good. [00:05:46] But when they built it, nobody knew what was going on. [00:05:50] Nobody knew opulence. [00:05:52] Nobody knew real luxury. [00:05:53] Nobody knew poverty. [00:05:54] They didn't know anything. [00:05:55] And they learned a hard lesson in 1929. [00:05:58] They learned a very, very hard lesson. [00:06:01] And we're going to turn our country around. [00:06:02] We're going to make it so great, so strong, so powerful. [00:06:07] We're going to bring it all back. [00:06:09] I want to thank some people that have been so instrumental in doing such a great job in terms of not only policy, but people. [00:06:17] And people love them. [00:06:18] Brooke Rollins, who put this on with Linda McMahon. [00:06:22] Linda has been a great friend of mine for a long time, right, Linda? [00:06:27] I want to thank you very much. [00:06:28] And the America First Policy Institute, what a job they've done. [00:06:32] But I said, you know, the policy is much more important if we do it for eight years than it is if we do it for four years. [00:06:39] So I said, let's do this. [00:06:40] Don't worry about your policy. [00:06:41] Let's get out and let's win the election. [00:06:44] But nobody knew we were going to win it the way we wanted. [00:06:47] That was a big one. [00:06:48] So that was really great. [00:06:53] And Javier, I'd like to congratulate you on the job you've done for Argentina. [00:06:59] Your speech was beautiful, but the job you've done is incredible. [00:07:03] Make Argentina great again. [00:07:04] You know, MAGA. [00:07:05] He's a MAGA person. [00:07:08] And you know, he's doing that. [00:07:09] He's actually doing it. [00:07:12] It just happens to work with the A. [00:07:14] That one we don't have to worry about. [00:07:15] It doesn't work so well with other countries. [00:07:17] But you know what? [00:07:17] I think your numbers are working also. [00:07:19] You've done a fantastic job in a very short period of time. [00:07:22] It's an honor to have you here. [00:07:24] That's really great. [00:07:25] Thank you. [00:07:26] Also, Speaker Mike Johnson, wherever you may be, Mike, in this very big and crowded room. [00:07:30] Thank you, Mike. [00:07:34] I went yesterday just in case I said, look, I want to tell you, I'm behind this man 100%. [00:07:40] And he got 100% of the vote from Republicans. [00:07:43] Are you sure? [00:07:44] You sure, huh? [00:07:46] Yeah, he's doing a great job. [00:07:48] Nothing easy. [00:07:49] We actually had one little period about four weeks where we had a majority of one. [00:07:54] That wasn't that pretty, right? [00:07:56] And you handled it beautifully. [00:07:57] He just kept that stiff upper lip, but he's doing a really good job. [00:08:02] And that was a great vote you got yesterday. [00:08:03] Totally unanimous vote. [00:08:04] Congratulations, Mike. [00:08:06] That's beautiful. [00:08:07] Members of Congress, all of whom voted for Mike, and they've been my friends. [00:08:13] It's just a small group, but we have a lot of them outside. [00:08:16] We have a lot of them coming over the weekend. [00:08:18] Byron Donalds, the star. [00:08:20] Where's Byron Byron? [00:08:22] What a star. [00:08:24] What a star. [00:08:25] Thank you, Byron. [00:08:27] Ronnie Jackson, Doc Ronnie, he's been a lot of things. [00:08:32] He was my doctor. [00:08:33] He was a great admiral, you know, highly respected admiral, great doctor at the White House, and now he's a very popular congressman. [00:08:40] He won by 48 points. [00:08:42] That's pretty good. [00:08:42] Of course, it was a very Trumpy district, but he won by 48 points. [00:08:46] But when he was a doctor, they asked him the question, The Fake News, which is here. [00:08:50] Look. [00:08:51] Wow, that's a lot. [00:08:52] That's a lot. [00:08:53] We invited him and they said, can we come in? [00:08:55] I said, we have nothing to hide as Republicans, right? [00:08:58] We have nothing to hide. [00:09:01] But they asked Ronnie, they asked the doctor, he was up in the podium, who's the healthiest? [00:09:06] Because he was the doctor for Barack Hussein Obama, Donald Trump. [00:09:12] And he was the doctor for Bush also. [00:09:14] They said, who's the healthiest of them all? [00:09:16] He said, without question, it's Donald Trump. [00:09:19] And I said, I like that guy. [00:09:21] I said, I like that guy. [00:09:23] And he's doing great. [00:09:24] Jason Smith is here, a great, great congressman, Wesley Hunt. [00:09:28] Wow. [00:09:29] And Mike Waltz, who's going to be doing a little other work for us in the very near future. [00:09:34] We just nominated him, and he's going to be doing a great job in the administration. [00:09:39] And I promised Mike that I wouldn't be taking too many more before we start counting the votes, okay? [00:09:45] He said, please, could you slow down a little bit? [00:09:47] I just like the people in Congress, Mike. [00:09:49] I'm sorry. [00:09:50] But no, don't worry about it, Mike. [00:09:52] Just relax. [00:09:53] Just relax. [00:09:54] We have a man who has a seriously high IQ. [00:09:57] You know, I'm a person that believes in high IQs, and his is about as high as they get. [00:10:02] He launched a rocket three weeks ago, and then he went to Pennsylvania to campaign because he considered this more important than launching rockets that cost billions of dollars. [00:10:12] Elon Musk. Elon. What a job. [00:10:22] What a job he does. [00:10:24] And he happens to be a really good guy. [00:10:26] You know, he likes this place. [00:10:27] I can't get him out of here. [00:10:29] He just likes this place. [00:10:31] And you know what? [00:10:32] I like having him here, too. [00:10:33] He's good. [00:10:34] He's done a fantastic job. [00:10:36] Really an incredible mind, and he's an unbelievable entrepreneur, sort of everything. [00:10:41] I'm asking him, what do you do best? [00:10:43] And we were not able to figure it out, but it's a lot of things. [00:10:48] Another one who's another great mind and a great guy, and so popular, and I think he's right. [00:10:54] He wants to make people healthy. [00:10:55] It's driven him pretty wild over the last number of years. [00:11:00] The Democrats didn't treat him well. [00:11:02] He was doing fantastically well. [00:11:04] And I think they came out with some rule that you had to do this. [00:11:07] Mike, you had to get 70 or 75 percent of the vote to qualify to be in the primary. [00:11:12] That was a pretty tough thing to get. [00:11:14] And he was doing incredibly well, and he decided he can't do it, went independent. [00:11:18] Now he's with us all the way. [00:11:19] And today I nominated him for, I guess, if you like health and if you like people that live a long time, it's the most important position, RFK Jr. [00:11:29] Bobby? [00:11:41] And I just looked at the news reports. [00:11:43] People like you, Bobby. [00:11:46] Don't get too popular, Bobby. [00:11:49] You know, you've reached about the level now. [00:11:53] We want you to come up with things and ideas and what you've been talking about for a long time. [00:11:59] And I think you're going to do some unbelievable thing. [00:12:02] Nobody's going to be able to do it like you. [00:12:04] And boy, does he feel it in his heart. [00:12:06] So congratulations also to your family. [00:12:11] And a woman who was a Democrat and was an independent, she went independent, and last week she said, I want to be a Republican because this is what I stand for. [00:12:22] And I've always admired her, and I've admired her because she was loaded up with common sense. [00:12:28] And it's all about common sense. [00:12:30] I mean, we're conservative in this room, but we can understand the other side. [00:12:34] But what we really are is people with common sense. [00:12:38] And I think that's why we won with the numbers that we won by. [00:12:42] Tulsi Gabbard, thank you, Tulsi. [00:12:44] Great common sense. [00:12:49] And you have Vivek Rameshwami. [00:12:53] It's taken people a long time, and now that name is emblazoned into their brain. [00:12:59] But Vivek, wherever you may be, where are you, Vivek? [00:13:02] Thank you, Vivek. [00:13:03] Good. [00:13:04] He's working with Ilan on efficiency. [00:13:09] They're working on efficiency, among other things, and they're going to be saving a lot of money and making our country stronger and better. [00:13:16] And they'll be coming out with individual reports, but a big one toward the end. [00:13:21] And you put those two together, it's going to be really great. [00:13:23] So we look forward to seeing it, working with Elon, and that'll be a great experience. [00:13:27] You're going to learn something from Elon, I think, right? [00:13:30] It's going to be great. [00:13:31] Thank you very much, Vivek. [00:13:32] And great job. [00:13:33] What you've done is fantastic. [00:13:38] And somebody that I've admired for a long time, but I've really gotten to know him in my political life, but especially, I think, over the last year, more than maybe ever before, maybe more than even than the first four years, because we had a tremendous success through my first term. [00:13:55] And then bad things happened, and we had to wait. [00:13:59] I couldn't wait. [00:14:00] I was going, I was saying, we got to, they're not going to do it. [00:14:05] They're not going to help us. [00:14:06] They're not going to save this country. [00:14:08] And it really dawned on me about 10 days out. [00:14:12] I said, wait a minute, with 10 days. [00:14:13] I waited four years, three years, two years. [00:14:16] All of a sudden, it's 10 days. [00:14:18] And then every day seems so long. [00:14:20] But I knew by the crowds we were getting, it was going to be really something. [00:14:24] And Newt Gingrich got up, and he said, this is a very special thing that's happening because nobody has ever had crowds. [00:14:33] And they just wanted hope. [00:14:36] They wanted something. [00:14:37] They just didn't want what they had. [00:14:39] And nobody expressed it more beautifully than Newt Gingrich. [00:14:43] And thank you, Newt, very much. [00:14:44] It was really beautiful. [00:14:45] And Callista, thank you very much. [00:14:47] Thank you, Callista. [00:14:51] But the American people have just delivered really something very, very amazing, the biggest political victory in 129 years. [00:15:00] Can you believe that, Newt? [00:15:02] 120. [00:15:03] They said the most consequential election. [00:15:05] I love that word. [00:15:06] It's a beautiful word. [00:15:08] Most consequential election in the last 129 years. [00:15:13] Well, that's something. [00:15:14] So we swept all swing states. [00:15:17] We won the popular vote. [00:15:20] Oh, I love that. [00:15:21] You know, in the last one, in my first term, they said he won the election, but they always followed by, he didn't win the popular vote. [00:15:34] That's what they say. [00:15:34] I don't even know, is it true or not? [00:15:36] Who knows? [00:15:37] But they would say he didn't win the popular vote. [00:15:40] And we won the popular vote by records now. [00:15:43] Nobody can say that anymore about us. [00:15:46] Nobody can say that because we won the popular vote. [00:15:49] And I didn't win it. [00:15:50] The people won it. [00:15:51] The great people of our country won the popular vote, and that's what they wanted, and this was something really special. [00:15:58] Won the White House, recaptured the Senate, and now, as of today, recaptured the House. [00:16:04] Thank you very much, Congressman. [00:16:12] And on track, looks like we have it, the largest margin in the national vote in presidential year since 1928. [00:16:21] That's a long time ago. [00:16:23] Well, that's interesting. [00:16:24] That's when this House was built, 1928. [00:16:26] It took a lot of years, but that was what it was completed. [00:16:30] And something that I just read here, and I saw from one of our friends from the news, from the media, we won, I didn't know this, we won 49 out of 50 states, shifted toward the GOP significantly. [00:16:45] That's a big, that's a big number. [00:16:51] So we won the largest share of black and Hispanic votes of any Republican in the history of our country, recorded history of our country. [00:17:00] So we won, think of that. [00:17:02] We won the largest share of black and Hispanic voters. [00:17:05] That's so incredible. [00:17:06] They're unbelievable people. [00:17:08] We respect them. [00:17:09] We admire them. [00:17:10] They've been through a lot. [00:17:12] And they like us. [00:17:13] And it wasn't easy. [00:17:15] It wasn't easy. [00:17:16] But on the, if you take a look at the border of Texas, the governor called me, Greg Abbott, who's a great guy, called me up. [00:17:23] He said, you won every single town on the border. [00:17:26] And these towns were always blue. [00:17:28] They were a dark, strong blue. [00:17:31] And we won every single town up and down the border in Texas. [00:17:35] We won with married women. [00:17:39] What about unmarried women? [00:17:40] What happened to unmarried women? [00:17:42] We won with married women. [00:17:44] We won half of all ages. [00:17:47] Think of that. [00:17:47] More than 50% of the 18 to 29-year-olds, the highest in many decades, the highest number. [00:17:55] And again, it really has to do with common sense. [00:17:59] You know, people don't want men playing in women's sports. [00:18:05] They don't want it. [00:18:07] They don't want it. [00:18:07] You know, I said that during the last few weeks, I was very heavy on the common sense things, like they want our border. [00:18:13] They want people to come into our country. [00:18:15] They do. [00:18:15] They don't want to have exclusion, but they want to come in legally through a system. [00:18:20] They don't want them coming in through prisons and through where you dump a prison from countries all over the world, dumping prisons into our country. [00:18:27] The prisoners dumped into our country by the millions. [00:18:31] They don't want that. [00:18:32] They don't want all of the kind of things that you, they don't want drug deals. [00:18:36] They don't want gang members. [00:18:38] They don't want people that are causing trouble. [00:18:40] They don't want people that the country doesn't want. [00:18:43] And they had a, I would say a truth, Elon would say an X, but it came out and it had 12 different things and it went down a list of things and part of it was that the cartels were bringing in drugs. [00:18:58] They don't want them at stopping. [00:19:00] When you see the numbers that are going to be released, in two days, things happen to our country. [00:19:05] This is two days as of three days ago, but things are happening to our country that we didn't see happening for years. [00:19:12] The caravans on the way up, 35,000 people, they're breaking up. [00:19:17] They're breaking up. [00:19:18] They're not even not making the journey. [00:19:23] And we had three or four of the highest, I guess almost every single day we set new records in the stock market. [00:19:30] We set new records economically. [00:19:33] Now, the only thing is, Mr. Speaker, I think it's important. [00:19:36] Maybe you should pass a bill. [00:19:38] You have to start my term from November 5th, okay, or November 6th if you want. [00:19:46] November 5th, because the market's gone through the roof. [00:19:51] Enthusiasm's doubled. [00:19:52] It's doubled in the last short while. [00:19:56] And I watched a liberal commentator say, you know, whether you like them or not, there seems to be a beautiful light shining over our country and even over the world. [00:20:06] I said, this guy didn't say that. [00:20:09] But we have to defeat inflation. [00:20:13] And while inflation's down, the costs are way too high. [00:20:16] And when I went around, I heard something that was very interesting. [00:20:19] The word grocery. [00:20:21] It's sort of such a strange and simple and nice word. [00:20:24] You know, I'm going out for groceries today. [00:20:28] They talked about that more than any other item. [00:20:31] The groceries are too high. [00:20:34] And when you think about it, that's a very bad, bad thing. [00:20:38] And I talked about that a lot in the last couple of weeks, and it resonated. [00:20:42] I tell a story about a woman. [00:20:44] She got three apples, an old woman. [00:20:47] She had three apples, and she brought them up to the cash register. [00:20:52] And she looked at the woman and she said, Is that the right price? [00:20:56] And the woman said, Yes, ma'am. [00:20:57] I'm sorry. [00:20:58] Yes, it is. [00:20:58] And she said, Oh, that's okay. [00:20:59] Could you wait one minute? [00:21:01] And she took one of the three apples and she brought it back to the refrigeration. [00:21:05] And she came back gently up to the cash register and she paid for two apples instead of three. [00:21:11] That should not be happening in our country. [00:21:14] That should not be happening here. [00:21:15] It's not going to happen here. [00:21:17] We're going to make it a much different place. [00:21:21] We're going to slash energy costs.
