Candace Owens - This Is Not a Good Look for Don Jr. Aired: 2023-08-25 Duration: 04:58 === Allowed Into Spin Room (04:30) === [00:00:00] We're not going to get into many of your comments today, but I had a bunch of people tweeting me yesterday asking me about Don Jr. [00:00:05] and Kimberly Guilfoyle because what was running concurrently or actually rather after the debates, Don Jr. [00:00:10] and Kimberly Guilfoyle were there. I actually didn't see them because they were sitting on the opposite side and behind me. [00:00:15] But I then went into the spin room because I was invited to go to the debates by Vivek Ramaswamy's team. [00:00:21] And the way that it works is that if you are invited by a candidate that is on the stage, you get a special colored pass that allows you to then go into the media room thereafter. [00:00:31] And it's only one person that's permitted. [00:00:33] I was also traveling with my assistant. [00:00:34] She didn't have that colored pass. [00:00:36] And it allows you to see all of the candidates that go in. [00:00:39] And they answer questions and their comms teams answer questions. [00:00:42] So people are asking, what did you think about the fact that Kimberly Guilfoyle and Don Trump Jr. [00:00:47] were not allowed into this room because they threw a fit, a figurative fit, not even figurative, a literal fit, talking about the injustice of not being allowed into the spin room. [00:00:58] Let's take a listen to what they said. [00:01:00] Right now, trying to ban people from actually having discourse about politics. [00:01:05] How un-American. Probably shouldn't surprise any of us. [00:01:08] But that's what it is. I've been told by others that I would be able to go in. [00:01:11] So they said we were able to go in. [00:01:13] Then they said they were in now that we're here. [00:01:15] And the candidate that... [00:01:16] Who said you can't go in the spin room? [00:01:17] They're telling me right now, Fox won't let me into the spin room. [00:01:20] That's what the American people should know. [00:01:22] They're telling him, he works for security here, but they're telling him that I'm not allowed to go in there. [00:01:27] Because the candidates that they've been boosting while simultaneously trying to cut down Trump for the last, what, two years? [00:01:33] Didn't perform as they had hoped. [00:01:35] So they can't have someone who can maybe be a representative of my father. [00:01:38] Just like a few weeks ago when I was cancelled after the first indictment, I was scheduled to go on. [00:01:43] And about five minutes before I'm on, I found out I'm no longer on because apparently I wouldn't be a great surrogate to talk about my father's indictment. [00:01:50] Just so we understand what we're dealing with here. [00:01:52] So it shouldn't surprise any of us. [00:01:54] And it's also why... Trump was 100% right to not go to this debate. [00:01:58] It's beneath him, and when you know that you're walking into a setup because of exactly these kinds of circumstances, you understand exactly what's going on in mainstream media, even conservative. [00:02:09] I like to knock the one side, but I've got to call balls and strikes. [00:02:13] This is no different than what we see from the Democrats. [00:02:17] Okay, I want to be first and foremost very clear that I like Don Trump Jr. [00:02:21] very much. He has always been very good to me. [00:02:23] In fact, when I was starting my career, a lot of the events that I did, just because his name was tied to it, I was able to get a lot of people in through the door who probably would have never heard me or attended otherwise. [00:02:32] I just want to make that very clear, that I'm separating my critique of what he just did here from the person, because Don is actually a phenomenal human being. [00:02:40] But this was bratty and privileged, and it was an unnecessary sidebar. [00:02:44] Let's just get a couple of facts clear. [00:02:47] Donald Trump was invited and he was courted to attend this debate. [00:02:51] He declined to attend the debate. [00:02:53] And by the way, I also want to say I think that was the right decision. [00:02:55] I don't know that there would have been an upside for him. [00:02:58] He was treated very poorly at the last set of debates when everything was actually rigged against him, right? [00:03:03] Had his father had attended these debates, he would have been allowed into the spin room. [00:03:10] That's how it works. You attend the debates. [00:03:12] you're allowed into the spin room. [00:03:15] Suggest that your father can not attend the debates, his own decision making, right, [00:03:20] can also run an interview with Tucker Carlson, which got hundreds of millions of views [00:03:25] at the same time as the debate, and yet should still have his surrogates [00:03:30] allowed into the media spin room, even though they were trying to create [00:03:34] an obvious distraction from the debates by running his interview at the same time. [00:03:38] It's just bratty. It's just bratty. [00:03:40] There's nothing here happened. Kimberly in the background saying, is this un-American? [00:03:45] No, no, no, no, no, no. [00:03:47] It's completely bratty and privileged to suggest that you should still be allowed in this bedroom. [00:03:51] Now, if there's something I'm missing, I'll correct the record. [00:03:53] If he was told by a Fox News person, and he had the actual colored card, [00:03:59] that he was allowed to go in and speak on behalf of his father, [00:04:01] which would be utterly nonsensical if you're Fox News. [00:04:04] And I'm saying this as a business person. [00:04:06] It would be utterly nonsensical to allow that. [00:04:08] When you're trying to keep the focus on the candidates that were on stage, then I will recant my statement. [00:04:12] I'll say I was wrong. I didn't realize that someone had personally texted me and said that. === I'll Watch Trump's Debate (00:43) === [00:04:15] But what I just saw there was a completely bratty sideshow. [00:04:18] It's hyper-privileged. It's not un-American. [00:04:21] It's a private company. They had their rules. [00:04:23] And it would have been amazing if your father was there. [00:04:26] I actually hope he goes to the next one as the candidate field gets smaller, [00:04:30] because he will love to watch Trump. [00:04:31] I'm actually, you know, I got in very late so I didn't get to watch his interview with Tucker, but I'm going to watch it because I absolutely love Tucker Carlson. [00:04:37] And we obviously know that Donald Trump has a way with communicating with people. [00:04:42] So hearing him talk about issues that the American people care about, seeing that he trumped the GOP debate in terms of all the views, all of that is wonderful. [00:04:50] But let's not make what happened on the Republican debate stage about you guys because it just wasn't. [00:04:55] Alright, if you like this video, you are definitely going to like the full episode even better.
