[00:01:23]  So much going on.
[00:01:24]  There was this, I mean, the world exclusive, the first time Erica has gone on camera in an interview, Erica Kirk, Charlie's widow, of course.
[00:01:36]  Actually, that's not true.
[00:01:36]  She came on this show for a few segments just to talk about the future of this show and how we are continuing on in Charlie's honor and legacy.
[00:01:47]  But really, this was the first time network television, live prime time with Jesse Waters.
[00:01:53]  And it was, it was, I've, I've gotten so many texts.
[00:01:57]  I've gotten so many people just saying how remarkable her courage and her bravery is.
[00:02:03]  And I can tell you that the interview happened in this room right here where we're sitting.
[00:02:09]  They did it right there.
[00:02:11]  The production team, our amazing production team, by the way, who's just been tremendous throughout this whole process, cleared out a lot of our own gear and made room for Jesse's team to get in here.
[00:02:21]  They did the interview right there.
[00:02:23]  I sat against that wall during it.
[00:02:26]  There was a number of Fox's production team in here.
[00:02:30]  And I watched it happen live.
[00:02:32]  And I knew it was going to be a really incredible, incredible moment for the world to see.
[00:02:38]  Because I will tell you, Blake, live and in person, I was pretty much a wreck when it was happening.
[00:02:47]  And I actually asked Jesse after the interview, I said, how did you keep it together?
[00:02:51]  Like, I saw him there.
[00:02:52]  He was like sitting there stoked.
[00:02:54]  And he's like, I had to emotionally prep in advance to make sure that I was not going to break down or get emotional.
[00:03:00]  You can kind of tell because he actually, like, the way he asks his questions is a little like robotic almost.
[00:03:06]  Yeah.
[00:03:06]  You can tell he was sort of disassociating.
[00:03:09]  But that's exactly what he said he did.
[00:03:10]  He had to disconnect himself from his own emotions.
[00:03:13]  And he said, even still, she almost got him a couple times.
[00:03:18]  And he's like, I don't even know how I got through that interview.
[00:03:23]  It was that difficult.
[00:03:24]  And I know Erica, after it happened, basically collapsed.
[00:03:29]  I mean, she is brave.
[00:03:31]  She is courageous.
[00:03:32]  She knew she had to.
[00:03:35]  I mean, if I could just, a little inside baseball here, I've gotten personally for Erica probably like 60 what you would call reputable interview requests, like big outlets, you know, reporters.
[00:03:50]  I mean, there's probably hundreds more than that, but like legitimate journalists that have wanted to interview Erica.
[00:03:58]  And so she sort of knew that this was going to have to happen at some point.
[00:04:03]  And I think Jesse Waters did a phenomenal job.
[00:04:06]  Hat to the whole Fox team.
[00:04:07]  It was very classy, very, very professional, very respectful.
[00:04:12]  But Jesse went there.
[00:04:13]  He went into, like, he asked all the questions.
[00:04:16]  Let's show the clips.

[00:04:18]  Well, actually, I just want to.
[00:04:19]  Okay, yeah, go ahead.
[00:04:20]  You picked the first clip.
[00:04:22]  Let's do, you know, let's just do the most basic one.

[00:04:30]  You told your children that Charlie was going on a work trip with Jesus.
[00:04:34]  Are they still asking, where's daddy?
[00:04:37]  Yes, my daughter continues to ask, but it's really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things.
[00:04:42]  And I said, if ever you want to talk to Daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him.
[00:04:47]  He can hear you.
[00:04:49]  I told her, I said, you know, Daddy, Daddy is in heaven.
[00:04:56]  She goes, you think I could go sometime?
[00:05:01]  I said, baby, we will all go one day.
[00:05:06]  We will all go one day.
[00:05:09]  Yeah, I mean, I don't know about you, Blake, but the kid clips specifically, I just, a lot of people clipped them up, put them on social media.
[00:05:17]  But I just, there is something crazy hard to watch about the kid clips.
[00:05:23]  Anyways, keep it going.
[00:05:26]  Let's do, you know, a lot of these actually go well just in order.
[00:05:30]  You know, she talks about, oh man, there's so many of these.
[00:05:34]  Let's do just her talking about how she found out about things because there have been evil people trying to do nasty stuff about this.
[00:05:43]  Let's do 361.
[00:05:46]  We saw the hats being flung.
[00:05:48]  I put my phone down and it was on silent, so I had no reason to look back at it.
[00:05:52]  When I moved my mom, I went back to grab my phone, and that's when Mikey started calling me.
[00:05:57]  Called me within seconds.
[00:06:00]  I called Erica.
[00:06:04]  You guys remember it rang like three or four times.
[00:06:07]  I didn't know what to say.
[00:06:08]  Those are the words that will change someone's life forever, and you have to be the one to say it.
[00:06:12]  That was the first time I've ever called her during a campus tour stop.
[00:06:16]  And so Mikey called me.
[00:06:18]  And I'll never forget him just being like, Charlie's been shot.
[00:06:23]  He's been shot.
[00:06:23]  Get the kids.
[00:06:25]  Get security.
[00:06:25]  Get the kids.
[00:06:26]  Get the kids.
[00:06:26]  He's been shot.
[00:06:27]  I sprinted out of her treatment center and just collapsed in the middle of the parking lot.
[00:06:34]  Yeah, do we want to address this?
[00:06:36]  Because, you know, we've talked about it before, but I mean, basically, and I have some experience with this too, because Charlie had told me along, you know, from time to time, not as much as he told Mikey, but he did tell me, like, listen, if anything ever happens, you call Erica.
[00:06:54]  And, you know, especially like, you know, when we were out at these events, like, he would say, hey, just let Erica know.
[00:07:00]  You know, and sometimes it would almost be joking.
[00:07:03]  Like, and so, anyways, Mikey, you know, basically is standing next to Charlie's side when it happens.
[00:07:11]  He turns around, puts his fingers in his ear, and walks away.
[00:07:14]  And he, he instantly, I think just like the noise of that place was so crazy.
[00:07:21]  He ends up calling his wife.
[00:07:23]  They call Erica.
[00:07:24]  They tell Erica.
[00:07:25]  And that moment, you know, I think the thing that hit me when Erica said that is that Mikey, and I think Mikey said it, said he never had called Erica during an event.
[00:07:36]  Yeah, that never.
[00:07:38]  And yet it makes sense.
[00:07:39]  Yeah.
[00:07:39]  Kind of, why would he?
[00:07:40]  Because he's busy.
[00:07:40]  Like Mikey's whole job at these events was to take social media videos and get it out to all the social media teams of Charlie coming up to the crowd and Charlie coming up, throwing the hats.
[00:07:49]  And we put them out on social media and they, you know, people loved seeing that because I think it was inspiring for people.
[00:07:54]  So that was Mikey's job.
[00:07:56]  And anyways, the fact that he never called her from an event was because there was no need to, you know.
[00:08:04]  Let's keep going here.
[00:08:05]  Let's do, you know, this is another one I thought was interesting.
[00:08:10]  She's saying that she's just not going to ever actually look at the video herself.
[00:08:15]  Let's do 377.
[00:08:17]  There's certain things you see in your life that mark your soul forever.
[00:08:20]  I don't want my husband's public assassination to be something I ever see.
[00:08:28]  I don't want my kids to ever see that.
[00:08:32]  And for people who actually enjoy watching that, which is quite literally sick.
[00:08:40]  What if that was your father or your brother or your sister?
[00:08:46]  There's a perspective shift there.
[00:08:49]  We're human.
[00:08:50]  Life is fragile.
[00:08:55]  And there is so much beauty in this world.
[00:09:00]  Why would you waste any portion of your life looking at something so evil?
[00:09:06]  And, you know, one last one, because I really wish we could play all of these, but I really like this one.

[00:09:12]  Would Charlie have forgiven his killer?
[00:09:17]  He's in heaven.
[00:09:20]  And he sees everything full picture.
[00:09:25]  And I truly believe that if the Lord, which this does not happen, but if the Lord gave him an option to return back to earth, and if the Lord said, this is what your death is going to be the catalyst for, do you want to go back and exchange it?
[00:09:48]  He'd say no.
[00:09:50]  Whoa.
[00:09:51]  He'd say no.
[00:09:54]  You know, it's interesting.
[00:09:55]  In the days after it happened, I had like three different people tell me that they had sort of like almost a vision or a picture in their mind of that exactly what she was describing.
[00:10:07]  I just finished watching one of the most powerful news series I've seen in a long time, Truth and Treason, now streaming on Angel.

[00:11:35]  We should, a lot of people have sent us stuff.
[00:11:38]  They've sent us things into, you know, the office, into the studio.
[00:11:42]  And I think, you know, they might wonder how that's gone.
[00:11:45]  And so Erica actually showed Jesse what we've been doing with that.
[00:11:48]  So let's play 363.
[00:11:50]  Oh, my goodness.
[00:11:51]  I know.
[00:11:53]  Everyone's sending all of this here.
[00:11:57]  They received tens of thousands of letters, cards, gifts, personal Bibles, paintings, and more.
[00:12:06]  A lot of this is from when people came to the campus, the Turning Point USA offices, and left it outside the gates.
[00:12:14]  Also, a lot has been mailed.
[00:12:16]  I mean, it's just unbelievably humbling.
[00:12:19]  But this is all mail.
[00:12:22]  I told them not to throw anything away.
[00:12:24]  I want every single card saved for my kids.
[00:12:29]  And for when, if the day gets hard at your desk, you come into this mail room, and I want you to come in, and I want you to pick up any of these cards, and I want you to read it so you can put into perspective why you work here.
[00:12:46]  Oh my gosh.
[00:12:48]  I need to stop in there.
[00:12:49]  I haven't actually gone in.
[00:12:49]  Yeah, I haven't gone in yet.
[00:12:51]  I know it is there.
[00:12:52]  I should go by later today.
[00:12:53]  We have one more thing that we want to flag.
[00:12:56]  Jesse asked, do you think they have the right guy who did this?
[00:13:00]  Let's do 385.
[00:13:01]  Do you think they've caught your husband's killer?
[00:13:04]  We have one of the most incredible teams for this case.
[00:13:12]  I would never wish it upon anybody to have to go through what we are going through.
[00:13:19]  To have seen the autopsy report, to have seen the different evidence portions that have been collected.
[00:13:32]  I trust our team.
[00:13:34]  Yeah, and I will just say that, you know, I'm not next of kin.
[00:13:40]  You can't comment on everything either, Blake.
[00:13:42]  You know, and I think that leaves a vacuum.
[00:13:45]  And there's bad actors, there's, and frankly, there's good actors too that really care about Charlie and getting justice for Charlie that have come into that space and are inserting, I think, doubt or questions.
[00:13:56]  Some of it's good faith questions.
[00:13:58]  A lot of it's bad faith questions.
[00:14:00]  But I will just tell you, the team is like, this is a rock-solid case.
[00:14:05]  They have a ton of evidence.
[00:14:07]  And, you know, I noticed our friend Jack is even circulating on social media, Jack Pisovic, the affidavit that, you know, even shows that the parents turned him in and he confessed to them.
[00:14:18]  And it was, you know, apparently this young guy was potentially about to commit suicide.
[00:14:26]  So the family tried to intervene and make him turn himself in.
[00:14:28]  So, I mean, all of the, I know that there's a lot of noise out there.
[00:14:32]  I know there's a lot of noise.
[00:14:33]  Blake, would you say there's a lot of noise?
[00:14:36]  There's a lot of noise.
[00:14:36]  There's a lot of noise.
[00:14:37]  There's a lot.
[00:14:37]  And on one level, it's like, I don't.
[00:14:39]  And a lot of stuff that's also just inaccurate.
[00:14:42]  I mean, she mentioned she's getting the call.
[00:14:44]  And then I saw that online and all these people saying, oh, wasn't she there when it happened?
[00:14:49]  And they're changing their stories.
[00:14:50]  No, the story has never been that she was there.
[00:14:52]  I think people have told a false story.
[00:14:54]  I've noticed a lot of people just assumed that she was there.
[00:14:56]  Or it just became clear.
[00:14:57]  It was very common for people to say, like, he was shot to death in front of his children.
[00:15:00]  I think there were even AI videos where they run up.
[00:15:03]  That's not true.
[00:15:03]  Weird stuff.
[00:15:04]  No, like she was planning on going.
[00:15:08]  And then Charlie told her, stay home with your mom because her mom had doctor's appointments that day and take care of the kids.
[00:15:14]  You need to be home for your mom and for the kids.
[00:15:16]  So she was like, okay, I'll stay.
[00:15:18]  And I'm really grateful that she wasn't there.
[00:15:21]  I'm grateful I wasn't there.
[00:15:23]  And my heart is like with, you know, the team that was there.
[00:15:27]  And anyways, I know there's a vacuum, but let me just assure the audience, I don't know if my words mean anything when people are out there, you know, stirring so much chaos about this, but the case is very good, you know, and there will come a time, this whole trial is going to play out.
[00:15:47]  And we should play that clip, by the way, about cameras in the courtroom, because I thought Erica's point was so well made.
[00:15:51]  It's like Charlie's assassination was everywhere.
[00:15:56]  I mean, I can only imagine billions and billions of views, right?
[00:16:00]  He didn't get a say in that.
[00:16:02]  And so how dare anybody, you know, suggest that there shouldn't be cameras in the courtroom.
[00:16:08]  Like, let the world see.
[00:16:09]  Let the world see.
[00:16:10]  And with all the intrigue, and again, I say this, I know there's a lot of good faith people that just want to get justice for Charlie.
[00:16:17]  Well, so we have nothing to hide.
[00:16:19]  There's nothing to hide in this case.
[00:16:20]  Let the cameras see.
[00:16:22]  Let them in.
[00:16:23]  Let them see.
[00:16:26]  Many of us are hopeful about the direction the country is headed.
[00:16:29]  But after years of abuse and mismanagement, things could fall apart at any moment.

[00:17:33]  You have a new piece out, actually, that we're going to get to in just a second.
[00:17:37]  But, you know, we've been going through clips of Erica's interview, the first, the exclusive first, with Jesse Waters last night.
[00:17:46]  And we're getting to a couple more pieces.
[00:17:48]  And I want to, we'll get you in on the reaction for this.
[00:17:51]  But there's a clip just talking about, you know, Blake, you set it up.
[00:17:56]  You set it up.
[00:17:57]  Oh, you want the one on cameras?
[00:18:01]  Yeah.
[00:18:01]  Yeah.
[00:18:02]  I believe that it is 374.
[00:18:04]  The defense wants to ban cameras in the courtroom.
[00:18:08]  How do you feel about that?
[00:18:10]  There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered.
[00:18:15]  There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning.
[00:18:19]  There have been cameras all over me analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear.
[00:18:29]  We deserve to have cameras in there.
[00:18:33]  Why not be transparent?
[00:18:35]  There's nothing to hide.
[00:18:37]  I know there's not because I've seen what the case is built on.
[00:18:41]  Let everyone see what true evil is.
[00:18:45]  This is something that could impact a generation and generations to come.
[00:18:49]  Kurt, why don't you, you're a lawyer.
[00:18:52]  You know, I thought she did beautifully there.
[00:18:54]  I think, you know, it's so true.
[00:18:57]  I mean, we've all been so scrutinized in the aftermath of this.
[00:19:00]  You know, so we're victims as well because, you know, we lose our friend, our boss, our colleague.
[00:19:06]  And then everything has been scrutinized since 9-10 and her most of all.
[00:19:13]  And so bring us into that courtroom.
[00:19:15]  What is the deliberation even about cameras or no cameras?
[00:19:19]  Explain that to us.
[00:19:21]  Clearly, for some reason, the defense doesn't think it's going to be to their benefit to have cameras in the courtroom.
[00:19:27]  And look, I defended people in civil cases.
[00:19:31]  I also brought cases.
[00:19:33]  I get it.
[00:19:34]  And it is important that we protect the rights of this accused person.
[00:19:38]  After all, if he's found guilty of what he did, he's likely to get the death penalty.
[00:19:43]  And if he's guilty of it, he'll deserve it.
[00:19:46]  I think every American has a right to see how justice is done.
[00:19:52]  Trials are public.
[00:19:54]  You can go there.
[00:19:55]  I don't understand why you can't have cameras there.
[00:19:57]  And yes, sometimes lawyers play to the cameras.
[00:20:01]  Okay.
[00:20:01]  They play to the jury all the time.
[00:20:03]  That's why you have a judge to say, calm down, counsel.
[00:20:06]  This is a serious matter.
[00:20:08]  I expect you to behave like a serious attorney with the appropriate level of respect and the appropriate level of dignity that this situation demands.
[00:20:18]  Look, Eric is absolutely right.
[00:20:19]  The American people have a right to see this evidence.
[00:20:24]  They have a right to see if it proves him guilty.
[00:20:26]  They have a right to see if the state can't make its case.
[00:20:31]  Again, we are attempting, as a government, we're attempting to take the life of this man.
[00:20:38]  He's up for the death penalty.
[00:20:40]  He should be up for the death penalty if he can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to have done what he did.
[00:20:46]  Now, do I believe that the evidence is very strong?
[00:20:50]  I believe it's very strong.
[00:20:51]  I believe he's very likely to be convicted.
[00:20:53]  That's not the point.
[00:20:55]  The point is that when we do something like this, we, the people, we have nothing to hide.
[00:21:03]  We have nothing that we don't want everyone to see.
[00:21:08]  So why not have cameras in the courtroom?
[00:21:10]  I think it's an important lesson.
[00:21:12]  And it's important to tell the American people why this person allegedly did what he allegedly did.
[00:21:22]  We want to see it.
[00:21:24]  We want to know.
[00:21:26]  This is going to change.
[00:21:27]  This has changed the course of America's history.
[00:21:30]  All right.
[00:21:32]  This is a crime, and all crimes are devastating to their families.
[00:21:37]  But this also hurt us in a country in a way only a political assassination can hurt us.
[00:21:47]  So we have a right to know exactly what's going on, to know that our prosecutors are doing their job, to know that this person's given the right to a complete and full defense to get all the facts out that he thinks are important while we get all the facts out that we think are vital.
[00:22:08]  So there is no good reason in my mind for a judge in this case not to allow cameras in the courtroom.
[00:22:16]  Again, if he's afraid that people are going to grandstand, you know, there's not a good trial lawyer out there who hasn't had a judge say, simmer down, Mr. Schlichter.
[00:22:28]  You're getting over your skis.
[00:22:29]  This is a trial, not a performance art, not an interpretive dance.
[00:22:35]  Present your case.
[00:22:36]  Yeah.
[00:22:37]  And that's what you should do.
[00:22:39]  I think that's really well said.
[00:22:40]  And, you know, one of the things that, you know, I worry about some of this stuff is it overshadows all of this amazing outpouring of love and support and just the tremendous groundswell of students and support for Turning Point.
[00:22:57]  But we got to do it.
[00:22:58]  I mean, when the trial ends up happening, you better believe that this show is going to be covering it in detail.
[00:23:07]  We're going to be watching every move.
[00:23:10]  This is going to be front and center for us.
[00:23:12]  So we have to just confront the grim reality that is facing us.
[00:23:16]  But I mentioned the fact that we have this outpouring of love and support, and we've had these campus tours.
[00:23:21]  I mean, Charlie's vision was always to have these arenas packed with students.
[00:23:25]  That was his vision.
[00:23:27]  And it's happening.
[00:23:28]  And last night at Auburn, we had Eric Trump, Lara Trump, Benny Johnson, Coach Tommy Tuberville, all out in Auburn.
[00:23:36]  And it was an amazing, amazing event.
[00:23:38]  And then, you know, lo and behold, President Trump calls in in the middle of it.
[00:23:42]  I want to play this clip just because it's just a phenomenal moment.

[00:23:49]  So we have the most beautiful crowd of people, thousands of thousands of people at Auburn University.
[00:23:54]  They are incredibly enthusiastic and they absolutely adore this country.
[00:23:58]  They adore God and they adore you.

[00:24:04]  I hope Eric is doing a good job and Laura's doing a good job.
[00:24:08]  But I just want to pay my respects to Charlie and Erica.

[00:24:39]  Kurt, make sense of the aftermath here, of all of this outpouring and what we're seeing across the country because it does end up playing into our politics, our culture, and this moment we're living through.

[00:25:01]  But, you know, I had the effect of this was enormous.
[00:25:08]  I had people who were not political coming up to me because they knew I was.
[00:25:14]  They knew I had been on Charlie's show, just telling me how sorry they were, and including very liberal people.
[00:25:20]  Just how sorry and disgusted they were.
[00:25:23]  This was something that affected our country in a way that really hasn't happened since maybe the death of Martin Luther King, the death of RFK.
[00:25:38]  This showed that there was something deeply wrong in the country with at least some section of the country.
[00:25:44]  And I expect nothing from the degenerates who celebrated this.
[00:25:49]  They're disgusting people.
[00:25:51]  They have to live with themselves and they have to answer in another place at another time.
[00:25:58]  What really struck me was how normal American people reacted as you would expect normal people to react.
[00:26:08]  That they were appalled, that they were ashamed that someone would do this in our country.
[00:26:16]  An outpouring of caring and concern for Erica and the kids and everybody who Charlie touched.
[00:26:24]  You know, it's easy to become hopeless when something terrible happens, when you face incredible evil, which is what this was, including the aftermath with all the people cheering it on.
[00:26:45]  Maybe sometimes you forget that decency and good are out there and that they're stronger than evil.

[00:31:02]  It sits right up against New Jersey, and it's pretty far from the rest of New York.

[00:31:13]  All right, Kurt, you've got a new piece out in Town Hall that is, it's in perfect Kurt Schlichter fashion.

[00:31:24]  Tell us what the takeaway should be from the debacle that was Tuesday night.
[00:31:29]  Well, the takeaway is don't go jump off a bridge, okay?

[00:32:27]  But if I have to get creamed in an election, I'd rather it be the off-year election in a couple of blue states rather than a midterm or heaven forbid, a presidential.

[00:32:44]  The Democrat states are likely to elect Democrat governors.
[00:32:48]  Wow, I got it right.
[00:32:50]  Now, I don't want to minimize what happened because we did learn some stuff.
[00:32:55]  We learned that we're having trouble turning out some of the new members of the America First Coalition.
[00:33:01]  Hispanic numbers went down.
[00:33:03]  Young people went down.
[00:33:05]  Young women have just gone completely crazy.
[00:33:08]  They're all over all these communists.
[00:33:11]  But it doesn't mean just because you can get information out of a bad night, you know, that's the silver lining on the cloud.
[00:33:25]  Look, don't be happy about it.
[00:33:27]  We could have done a lot better.
[00:33:29]  And there are mistakes that we made.
[00:33:32]  But, and it's important.
[00:33:35]  We need to take the lessons that we've learned.
[00:33:37]  We have 363 days until the midterms.
[00:33:40]  Midterms are very important.
[00:33:43]  These Democrats have gone completely insane.
[00:33:47]  Well, actually, I don't think they're insane.
[00:33:48]  I think they're just flat out evil.
[00:33:52]  And who knows what they'll do to our country if they get any power?
[00:33:55]  They'll certainly stop Donald Trump from fixing the problems they created.
[00:34:00]  So we've got to get serious and we've got to go and we've got to fight and play to win next time.

[00:34:10]  Yeah, I mean, you know, it's an interesting takeaway here.
[00:34:12]  I agree with you on the we lost a lot of the young females, young people in general, went the wrong direction.
[00:34:19]  But in places like New Jersey, what's interesting is that, you know, Chitterelli got 100 and I believe 120,000 more votes than he did in 2021.
[00:34:27]  It's just that Mikey Sherrill got, I think, 400,000 votes more than 2021.
[00:34:33]  And so than the Democrat candidate did.
[00:34:36]  So, you know, they are definitely, and we find ourselves, we talked about this last week.
[00:34:40]  We find ourselves at a bit of a nadir with President Trump's support.
[00:34:45]  And I think we need to take that advice and we need to take the learnings and the lessons, refocus our efforts on domestic pocketbook issues.
[00:34:54]  And really, you know, perception is reality, Kurt, that we have to show and tell the voting electorate that we're focusing on domestic issues.
