The Charlie Kirk Show - Harmeet Falls Short. How it Happened — LIVE From the RNC Aired: 2023-01-27 Duration: 55:17 === Live Update From The RNC (05:11) === [00:00:00] All right, Jack Poseubic here again. [00:00:01] We are in for Charlie Kirk while he's down at the RNC. [00:00:05] Charlie joins us from the RNC, the sidelines, to give us a live update of what's happening with the chair's race. [00:00:11] You can get all of that plus the exclusive speeches in real time as we give you this episode. [00:00:18] We explain what's going on with the RNC chair's race, the grassroots uprising. [00:00:23] Buckle up, everybody. [00:00:25] Here we go. [00:00:26] Charlie, what you've done is incredible here. [00:00:28] Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. [00:00:30] I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. [00:00:33] Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. [00:00:37] I want to thank Charlie. [00:00:38] He's an incredible guy. [00:00:39] His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA. [00:00:47] We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. [00:00:56] That's why we are here. [00:00:59] Brought to you by the Loan Experts I Trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandTodd.com. [00:01:08] All of you have shared something unique and special with me. [00:01:14] For instance, I learned that John Wall, our esteemed chairman from Alabama, once held, can you believe this, the world record for walking on Legos barefooted. [00:01:27] 5.2 miles. [00:01:30] John, you got to win that record back before the presidential race heats up. [00:01:35] But I encourage you to take the time to get to know each other. [00:01:39] I'm a better man today because of the influence you have all had on my life. [00:01:44] And I'm proud of the work that our team accomplished during my two terms. [00:01:48] We flew hundreds of thousands of miles, performed thousands of hours of grassroots and fundraising activities for all 50 states and territories, and conducted hundreds of media hits sharing our Republican message. [00:02:05] And I enjoyed every single minute of it. [00:02:08] I will leave here today with only fond memories and a commitment to you that I will always remain your partner in our effort to advance conservative ideals and Republican leadership. [00:02:24] Members of the 168 like you, I love our nation, and the future of this nation is at stake. [00:02:33] Our country is divided. [00:02:35] Democrats and their partners in legacy media, big tech, and even Wall Street are on the march to fundamentally transform our country into a socialist hellhole under the thumb of Washington, D.C. [00:02:51] We cannot ever let this happen. [00:02:55] We have open borders, dangerous cities, the Green New Deal, and the list goes on and on and on. [00:03:02] And don't forget, internationally, we're leading from behind again. [00:03:06] So thank God we won back the House and we have Speaker Kevin McCarthy. [00:03:12] Republican leadership will turn the ship around and will shape the future for our 2024 presidential nominees agenda. [00:03:21] If we remain united, the Republican House will stop the madness and will deliver transparency to a lawless administration. [00:03:34] The American people deserve a government that works for them and is accountable to them. [00:03:40] And as I've said before, we are not servants of the swamp. [00:03:44] Washington, D.C. works for us. [00:03:48] My hope is for a Republican Party united behind our conservative ideals, which stand in stark contrast to the loony left. [00:03:58] Healthy debate is a good thing and it's a critical part of democracy. [00:04:04] But the minute that we leave here today, we should commit to working together to achieve our shared goals. [00:04:12] The future of our nation depends on this. [00:04:15] So today is not goodbye. [00:04:18] It's the end of a story in the long book that is the RNC. [00:04:24] The party of Lincoln will endure for generations to come. [00:04:29] May it always be a beacon for life, for liberty, for freedom, and for justice for all. [00:04:39] And as Lincoln himself once said, my dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth. [00:04:50] It has been my honor serving all of you, our state parties, and our grassroots volunteers. [00:04:56] It has made my life full. [00:04:59] Now I get to go back to my family, who's in the back. [00:05:05] Thank you, members. [00:05:06] God bless all of you, and God bless our beautiful United States of America. === Honoring Our Grassroots Volunteers (03:25) === [00:05:11] Thank you very much. [00:05:15] Thank you, Tommy, and thank you, Alex, and Isabella, and Annabelle, and Gigi. [00:05:20] We love your dad, guys. [00:05:21] Thank you so much. [00:05:23] Thank you, Tommy. [00:05:24] Now it is time for the treasurer's report, and it is my pleasure to introduce Ron Kaufman to give his report. [00:05:31] Morning, thank you. [00:05:34] As you've heard from my chair, in 2022, we raised $175.8 million and ended up, more importantly, with $14 million cash to carry over this very important 2023 cycle, 2024 cycle. [00:05:53] In the Moore Good News Department, we did it all with an incredibly low 34% of fundraising costs. [00:06:02] Now, to put that in proper perspective, historically, the rate for fundraising costs is 45%. [00:06:10] So, despite inflation, cost of postage, the chair cut it from 45 to 33. [00:06:18] You should know that during our chair's tenure, the average cost of fundraising was 33%. [00:06:25] And her and a spectacular team raised over $1.58 billion during those six years. [00:06:35] This week, Josh Fisher, our very talented and successful CEO and CFO, and I had a conference call with our auditors. [00:06:47] And I'm pleased to report they've gone through our books, our reports, and our over 600,000-page FEC report to say that we have the best records they can remember in a clean bill of health. [00:07:05] I'd like to close by thanking Josh and his able deputy Megan and their crew of having the best back office any treasurer could possibly hope for. [00:07:18] They are a team of well-trained, hard-working professionals. [00:07:23] And I also want to thank the rest of your staff at the ARNC. [00:07:28] They are incredibly talented, dedicated, and competent team. [00:07:33] You know, I'm in the building, I live near the building, but I'm in Washington. [00:07:36] I'm in the building often at 7 in the morning or at 9 p.m. at night on a Monday or a Sunday. [00:07:44] And usually I'm the first person in the building. [00:07:47] I have never once been the first person in that building. [00:07:51] They're a great team and doing great work for us. [00:07:56] And I want to thank my fellow officers, if I could, that I've been pleased and honored to serve with. [00:08:02] First, rock star, Vicki, who is God has never placed a better soul on this planet than Vicki Drummond. [00:08:10] I love you, Vicki. [00:08:12] And to my friend for life, Tommy. [00:08:15] Now, I knew Tommy just a little bit when Ronna called me and said, listen, the White House would like us to consider Tommy for the job of co-chairman. [00:08:27] Would you have lunch with him and see what he thinks about the RNC and the job of co-chairman? [00:08:33] I said, I'd be glad to, Rona. [00:08:35] And he'll pay. === Vicki Drummond And Tommy Nomination (15:07) === [00:08:36] Great. [00:08:37] So Tommy and I had lunch together and we had a great talk. [00:08:40] I said, well, Tommy, tell me what you think about the RNC. [00:08:44] He said, well, I really don't know the RNC that well. [00:08:47] I've raised money for them. [00:08:48] I helped them. [00:08:48] I know a lot of people, but I really don't know much about it works. [00:08:52] So that's great. [00:08:53] But tell me what you think about the job of co-chair. [00:08:57] He said, oh, I know that well. [00:08:59] That made me a little bit nervous for some reason. [00:09:01] I said, you do. [00:09:03] How do you know it's so well? [00:09:05] She said, I read the rules, so I know what the job is. [00:09:08] So now I panicked a little bit. [00:09:10] I said, well, what do the rules say, Tommy? [00:09:13] He said, it's simple. [00:09:14] I do whatever Rhana says. [00:09:17] And I said, Tommy, you're going to be great. [00:09:21] Matt Raymer, we are fighting for Republicans across our states and territories. [00:09:26] We are fighting big tech. [00:09:28] We sued Google in federal court in California for the practice of marking our emails to supporters as spam. [00:09:35] Google did this at a critical time for fundraising each month, sending our inboxing rate to almost zero like clockwork and without explanation. [00:09:43] This litigation was ongoing, but miraculously, all of a sudden the emails started getting through as Google stopped tagging our emails. [00:09:54] A huge win for our fundraising efforts. [00:10:00] We're fighting for our privacy of our donors and others as we were the first entities to successfully defeat a subpoena from the January 6th committee, stopping them from obtaining confidential RNC data from our outside vendor sales force. [00:10:15] And we're fighting for election integrity across this country. [00:10:19] We were involved in 91 election integrity lawsuits this past cycle alone. [00:10:23] Many of these cases survived the 2022 election, including in key 2024 battleground states such as Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. [00:10:33] The RNC also went on the offensive and filed 39 lawsuits where we put Democrats on their heels. [00:10:39] We won key victories in states such as North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania that helped ensure the election was run transparently and according to the rule of law on the books. [00:10:51] We worked with state and county parties to defend critical election integrity reforms adopted by states such as Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Texas, and Arizona. [00:11:00] Our efforts helped ensure, again, that these laws remain in effect and were followed in the November election. [00:11:08] And the RNC hasn't stopped just because we are past the last election. [00:11:13] Just last week, we intervened in a lawsuit with the Washington State Republican Party to defend the state's signature verification process. [00:11:26] The legal team and each and every one of you need to be continuously vigilant, looking for opportunities, looking for places where the rule of law is not being followed or where there's places we can come in and help you in your states, because we are not done. [00:11:41] And if every opportunity we find, we will stand beside you to ensure that we have election integrity in 2023, 2024, and beyond that our voters can count on. [00:11:51] Thank you so much. [00:11:56] Thank you, Kyle. [00:11:57] Now, I'd like to recognize Mike Lee for the Chief of Staff's report. [00:12:03] Thank you, Chairman. [00:12:04] Just very quick, hopefully, this will be 60 seconds. [00:12:08] As you all know, I like to keep things on time here. [00:12:10] So, just a very quick thank you to the RNC staff that is here. [00:12:14] There are a lot of opinions this week in this room. [00:12:17] I think the one thing when I looked out and heard the chairman talk about Mariana Herrera and her member services team, everyone, every single person of this room, I think for about three hours, along with about a dozen other meetings that we had to get through, and everything went off without a hitch. [00:12:31] So, huge kudos to you and your team. [00:12:34] Josh Fisher, Elise Dickens, our CFO and finance director, our whole finance team, thank you for everything you do. [00:12:41] I would said it in a few meetings this week, but it is just unheard of that the political committee that has the White House is outraged by the political committee that does not. [00:12:50] And that happens nine months out of 10, and it happens so often now it barely gets noticed. [00:12:54] So, thank you. [00:12:55] Your team does just an absolutely incredible job. [00:13:01] Christian Shaper, our digital director, our digital team has just gotten incredibly innovative. [00:13:06] They have grown our email list from under 5 million to close to 50 million emails. [00:13:10] They have grown our text file immensely in an incredibly competitive email, both fundraising and political outreach market. [00:13:17] They just do an incredible job contacting both donors and voters. [00:13:21] So, thank you, Christian, to you and your team. [00:13:23] Elliot Eccles and Trip Looser, our political director and deputy political director, thank you for everything you've done. [00:13:29] Your team has just rocked it all cycle long, from taking on a brand new election integrity coming out of the dissent decree from last cycle and standing that operation up fully this cycle to everything you've done with ballot chasing and community centers and all the rest. [00:13:42] Thank you. [00:13:43] Thank you to you and your team and all the RPDs that are here. [00:13:45] Matt Raymer and the legal team, our legal team is like six to eight people. [00:13:50] They both stood up the legal side of election integrity this cycle and also handled every other legal challenge that was thrown our way, including the January 6th Committee and everything else. [00:13:59] They do it with ease. [00:14:00] They're in the building till midnight. [00:14:02] It is absolutely incredible, everything you do. [00:14:03] So, thank you very much to the legal team. [00:14:06] Daniel Alvarez, and sorry, thank you, the legal team. [00:14:12] Daniel Alvarez, Zach Parkinson on our research and communications team. [00:14:15] I'm going to, I can name a million people here, but Johanna and Keith Schipper, Nathan, and the rest, they do an incredible job. [00:14:22] Our regional communications, our media affairs operation, our research operation. [00:14:26] I think our research, RNC research account is world famous at this point. [00:14:29] So, you guys do an incredible job setting the narrative every week. [00:14:33] Thank you. [00:14:33] Our co-chair team, Tommy, you're right, you've come a long way. [00:14:36] I remember seeing you in Albuquerque at that first meeting, and you have done an absolutely incredible job. [00:14:41] Very, very proud to work on your behalf. [00:14:44] Ann Pierce, Cole, Mallory, thank you, thank you for all your service over these years. [00:14:48] I wish you all the best. [00:14:49] You all have been incredible. [00:14:50] Tina Jackson, our COO, who's not here, she was under the weather this week. [00:14:55] But Tina, thank you. [00:14:56] She does so much around the building to keep us operational. [00:14:59] Our state party strategies team, led by Mike Ambersini. [00:15:03] Thank you, Mike. [00:15:04] Again, standing up a brand new department this year. [00:15:06] And I think the full 168 would agree was incredibly successful. [00:15:10] I'm sure I'm forgetting some folks. [00:15:13] We just have an incredible team. [00:15:14] The chairman and I are so very proud to lead it. [00:15:17] Our staff makes it so easy on us. [00:15:20] The bottom line is: look, our staff just loves the party immensely. [00:15:23] I think I can count on one hand, the amount of days on weekends that we had quiet the last two years. [00:15:28] I mean, there was always something that I was reaching out to a department director, and they pick up the phone and they hand it with ease, no matter what time of day it is, and they all work their butts off so hard. [00:15:37] So, thank you. [00:15:37] All of our directors have already dove into after action items, both looking at, I didn't even ask some of them to, looking at what went well last cycle and what they need to do better next cycle. [00:15:48] They'll be working with, of course, the after action committee once we get through all those. [00:15:51] So, I'm just very, very proud of the team. [00:15:53] I'm very fortunate to be here and very lucky to have the RC staff we do. [00:15:56] Thank you. [00:16:02] We will now move on to the committee reports. [00:16:04] Beginning with the Rules Committee, I would like to recognize Jeff Kent, Nash Committee Man for Washington and chairman of the Standing Committee on Rules for the purpose of giving his report. [00:16:14] Yeah, or you can come up here. [00:16:19] Thank you, Madam Chair. [00:16:20] The Standing Committee on Rules met yesterday morning immediately following the members-only breakfast. [00:16:27] And due to the lengthy pleasantries being shared at the members-only breakfast, we had to abbreviate the rules committee down to only one major piece of business, which did pass unanimously, and that was the motion to adjourn. [00:16:45] I want to tell you guys about COVID tax relief. [00:16:48] COVID Tax Relief is an amazing service that exists for you because of Washington, D.C.'s addiction to overspending. [00:16:56] Again, I'm not a fan that this money exists or that's out there or that it's available, but as they say, it is what it is. [00:17:02] Look, COVIDtaxRelief.org got a small retail business, almost $80,000. [00:17:08] COVIDTaxRelief.org got a manufacturing business, nearly $250,000. [00:17:12] COVIDTaxRelief.org got a large distribution business, almost $900,000. [00:17:16] If you run a business, church or nonprofit, and paid your employees through all or part of the pandemic, you could qualify for up to $26,000 per employee through the Government Cares Act. [00:17:26] COVIDTaxRelief.org receives a low commission, very reasonable, only after you receive the money. [00:17:31] So go to covidtaxrelief.org. [00:17:32] That is covidtaxrelief.org, covidtaxrelief.org. [00:17:37] Check it out right now, covidtaxrelief.org. [00:17:42] I would now like to recognize Glenn McCall, Budget Committee Chairman and National Committee Man from South Carolina, for the purpose of giving the budget committee report. [00:17:52] Glenn. [00:17:53] Thank you, Madam Chair. [00:17:55] I want to begin by thanking the members of the budget committee for all their hard work and dedicated efforts throughout the entire budget review process. [00:18:04] And if we could just give them a round of applause. [00:18:07] The budget that was sent to every member of the RNC 10 days ago has not been modified, amended since, and is the same budget that we'll consider today. [00:18:19] During meetings on Wednesday, this same proposed 2023 budget, RNC budget was adopted as a placeholder by the budget committee and approved by the executive committee without amendments, with the understanding that the budget committee will make changes to the budget if needed at future meetings. [00:18:42] So now, Madam Chair, on behalf of the Budget Committee and to comply with RNC Rule Number 1083, directive that the annual budget be passed at the first meeting of the RNC held each year, I move the adoption of the 2023 RNC budget. [00:19:04] Glenn McCall has moved adoption of the 2023 RNC budget. [00:19:08] Do I hear a second? [00:19:09] It is moved and seconded that we adopt the 2023 RNC budget. [00:19:13] Is there any discussion? [00:19:15] Hearing no further discussion, we will proceed with the vote. [00:19:17] All those in favor of adopting the 2023 RNC budget, please signify by saying aye. [00:19:23] All those opposed signify by saying no. [00:19:26] The ayes have it, and the 2023 budget is adopted. [00:19:29] Thank you, Glenn. [00:19:31] Before we move to the officer elections, I want to personally thank our officers and committee chairs. [00:19:35] You've done amazing work, and I greatly appreciate all your support and guidance. [00:19:40] To our committee chairs, you have been incredible leaders for each of your committees. [00:19:43] Can we please thank them? [00:19:47] And now we will proceed with the election of RNC officers. [00:19:50] Without objection, I would now like to hand the gavel to Jeff Kent, National Committee Man for Washington and Rules Committee Chairman for the purpose of presiding over the officer elections. [00:20:02] Hearing no objection, Jeff Kent will now preside. [00:20:08] Thank you, Madam Chair. [00:20:10] Okay, folks, strap yourself in. [00:20:12] Here we go. [00:20:15] I will begin by providing a brief overview of the election process. [00:20:20] RNC officer elections are governed by rule number 5B, which reads, the chairman, co-chairman, and all other officers shall be elected in January of each odd number year. [00:20:31] All officers except the vice chairman shall be nominated from the floor and shall have at least the majority vote of the Republican National Committee members in each of three states in order to have their name placed in nomination. [00:20:46] Evidenced by written documentation submitted to the council's office, three candidates received the necessary support for each of the three states for the election of chairman. [00:20:56] Three candidates received the necessary support for the election of co-chairman. [00:21:01] Two candidates received the necessary support for the election of treasurer. [00:21:06] And two candidates received the necessary support for the election of secretary. [00:21:12] Elections shall be held in the following order. [00:21:15] Chairman, co-chairman, treasurer, and then secretary. [00:21:21] The floor will not be open for nominations to an office other than for the election of chairman, which shall occur first until the presiding election has been completed. [00:21:33] Each candidate will be allotted five minutes total for nominating and seconding speeches, and the parliamentarians will keep time. [00:21:42] The parliamentarian will hold up a green card when one minute is remaining, a yellow card when 30 seconds are remaining, and a red card when time has expired. [00:21:53] The presiding officer will allow the speaker to finish the sentence that began before the allotted time expired, but no more. [00:22:02] Time limits will be strictly enforced. [00:22:04] Nominating speeches and seconding speeches may be made from the podium or from the microphones on the floor. [00:22:11] Only RNC members or valid proxy holders nominating and seconding the candidates will be allowed to speak. [00:22:18] When all nominations have been made for an office, the presiding officer will declare the nominations closed. [00:22:26] If the five-minute limit has expired and additional members wish to second the nomination, those members will be able to approach the council's office table and add their names. [00:22:38] When the nomination for an office has ended, the chair will repeat the names in nomination. [00:22:44] Pursuant to RNC Rule 7D and precedent established by previous RNC officer elections, elections will which have multiple candidates are nominated. [00:22:55] The election will be held by secret ballot. [00:22:58] The election is won by attaining a majority of the eligible votes cast. [00:23:04] As soon as a nominee receives a majority of the votes cast, he or she will be declared elected. [00:23:10] Blank ballots and abstentions will not count as votes. [00:23:15] A ballot cast with the name of a candidate not properly nominated or ineligible to serve in the position will count towards determining the majority needed to win the election. [00:23:27] If no candidate receives a majority vote, we will stand at ease for five minutes and then vote again until a candidate ends up with a majority. [00:23:37] After each election, the elected officer will have the opportunity to briefly address the body. === Secret Ballot Election Process (14:40) === [00:23:44] These are the Procedures we have used in the past and without objection, these are the procedures that we will follow today. [00:23:54] Hearing no objection, we will begin with the election of chairman of the Republican National Committee. [00:24:02] You see, for me, this vote is not about polls or who loves America more or who's going to fight more. [00:24:09] It comes down to two questions when it comes to what matters to me: Can I trust you? [00:24:15] Can I rely on you? [00:24:18] And the answer to those two questions regarding Ronna McDaniel are yes and yes. [00:24:24] You see, great leaders, they're trustworthy, they're humble, they're not afraid to say I'm sorry when they've made a mistake. [00:24:33] They can be fierce when necessary, and they have the wisdom to navigate challenging waters, and they have the ability to unify all stakeholders for a common goal because they are relational, not transactional. [00:24:49] It's for those reasons and many more that this more seasoned mom is enthusiastically nominating Ronna McDaniel for the chairman of the Republican National Committee. [00:25:08] The chair recognizes David Bossi, the National Committee Man from Maryland. [00:25:16] I'm proud to stand before this dedicated committee today to second the nomination of Ronna McDaniel for RNC chairman. [00:25:24] Under Rana's leadership, we retired Nancy Pelosi and ended Biden's socialist agenda in the House of Representatives. [00:25:33] We cut ties with the biased committee on presidential debates. [00:25:39] We launched the largest election integrity effort by this committee in nearly four decades. [00:25:45] And we built upon President Trump's outreach to the minority communities. [00:25:50] And we raised a record $1.5 billion to support candidates and state parties across the country. [00:25:59] I look forward to working with Ronna and the entire 168 to take back the White House, the United States Senate, and build upon our majority in the United States House. [00:26:11] The RNC needs experienced and proven leaders, and that's what we have in Ronna McDaniel. [00:26:18] I hope you will support Ronna. [00:26:20] She is the leader we need, and I encourage you to join me in supporting her re-election. [00:26:27] Thank you. [00:26:31] Thank you, David. [00:26:32] And the chair recognizes a modern rider wagon, the National Committee Woman from American Samoa. [00:26:46] Thank you. [00:26:47] As RNC chair, Ronna McDaniel has tirelessly advocated for the grassroots, supporting all 56 state and territorial parties, and And has delivered resources to help us each achieve success. [00:27:02] It did not matter if the request was coming from a solid red state with a large party infrastructure, the deepest blue state with tough election battles, or even the territories. [00:27:13] She has been a steadfast leader and friend for us all. [00:27:17] Rana instituted positive change at the RNC in so many ways by establishing the GROW program to empower state parties, engaging minority voters in meaningful and effective ways through the community centers, establishing a year-round field operation, and built a large donor network for both small and major donors to better support our Republican candidates and state parties. [00:27:44] In the face of adversity, Rana's character has remained unchanged, her faith unwavered, and her focus to continue to lead our party unfazed. [00:27:56] Thank you very much. [00:27:57] The chair now would like to recognize Robin Armstrong, the National Committee Man from Texas, for the purpose of nominating a candidate for RNC chairman. [00:28:06] Ladies and gentlemen, my friends on the RNC, I rise to nominate Harmeet Dillon for the position of chair of the Republican National Committee. [00:28:17] The race for chair of the RNC has never been about blame. [00:28:22] It's never been about fault finding. [00:28:25] It has always been about putting together the strongest team to win elections for Republican candidates at every level. [00:28:35] Harmeed plans on moving to Washington, D.C. and plans on being at the RNC offices every day, working, managing, learning, and demanding excellence of herself and everyone in the building. [00:28:50] Harmeed plans to examine RNC relationships with vendors and with consultants so that we can be assured that every single penny that is donated to the RNC is being used to help Republican candidates win elections. [00:29:08] And Harmead plans to use the talents of every member of this body, every member, to advance our cause, which is again to win elections. [00:29:20] For far too long, the Democrat Party has victimized impoverished and minority communities by their policies, which have failed. [00:29:32] We as a party have to be in the strongest position to win elections, implement our conservative policies, and bring hope to millions of Americans. [00:29:44] Harmeet will put us in a position to win. [00:29:48] We are not here to criticize what has happened in the past, but to look forward and to look out for what lies ahead. [00:29:59] We have a great responsibility and a great opportunity to do something that has not been done by the RNC in a very long time, if ever. [00:30:10] We have the opportunity to elect a chair of the RNC who has the approval and the excitement of almost all of our grassroots activists at home. [00:30:23] And with this overwhelming support, Harmeet will be in a position to lead with strong wins behind her, paving the way for big wins in 2024 and truly seeing a red wave. [00:30:40] Members of the 168 friends, we are at an inflection point. [00:30:46] Our party and our conservative values are the only thing standing in the way of absolute tyranny. [00:30:55] But if we show the courage to change today, I believe in my heart that rather than the tyranny and the depravity that we see amongst the Democrat Party, instead, we can have hope that we will see, and I quote, that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom. [00:31:20] Just like Abraham Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address, please join me today and many others in supporting and voting for Harmeet Dylan. [00:31:30] Thank you. [00:31:31] And now the chair would have to make an apology because I have not yet developed Micki Drummond's pronunciation skills. [00:31:37] Therefore, I recognize Laura, the gentlewoman from Hawaii, National Committee. [00:31:43] Thank you, Jeff. [00:31:44] I appreciate that. [00:31:46] I rise to second the nomination of Harmeet Dylan for RNC chair. [00:31:49] I'm Laura Nakamilua, National Committee Woman from Hawaii. [00:31:52] When Harmeet called me to tell me that she was running, I was excited. [00:31:56] I really was. [00:31:57] We all know Harmeet's credentials and her unmatched skill at representing the RNC in national, in our national biased media. [00:32:05] She has been an articulate and passionate warrior for this body and all of you and many conservative causes that we hold so dear. [00:32:13] She's fought for Christians like me for my right to worship in my own church. [00:32:18] She's fiercely pro-life. [00:32:19] I could go on. [00:32:23] I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to the committee and to so many of you with whom friendships have been created over our last 11 years together. [00:32:35] We all know and recognize the difficult task before us today. [00:32:41] I want to touch upon three issues being discussed in our leadership struggle that demand different solutions. [00:32:48] This vote today for the RNC chairman is my six. [00:32:53] Until this moment, I don't remember these three issues ever being relative to those previous elections. [00:33:00] First and foremost, a warning. [00:33:04] We appear to many of our faithful constituents, the Republican activist, as out of touch with their wants and their needs. [00:33:15] There is a deep concern for our strongest and most loyal supporters that we no longer listen to them, and some believe that we totally disregard their opinion. [00:33:29] Second would be the concerns of the donors. [00:33:31] I think politicians fantasize that there is an endless supply of money to wage these important battles. [00:33:39] I fear that our donors are not as confident in the RNC's abilities after the disappointing midterms. [00:33:47] If you don't believe that, just ask them. [00:33:51] And third and most importantly, we as a party have failed to engage in the most critical struggle of our lives, the fight to keep fair and honest elections in America. [00:34:04] But fortunately, this day, the Republican Party has a choice. [00:34:08] I rise in nomination of an individual who comes from the grassroots. [00:34:13] I rise in nomination of a man who is a major donor, who works and understands with the concerns of the donor class. [00:34:22] A man is comfortable with the donors in their boardrooms as he walks a precinct or in organizing a rally with the grassroots. [00:34:33] I stand in this moment of time on this day of destiny for our party, and I nominate the one individual in America, besides President Trump, of course, who has stood against the corrupt Democrat apparatus that demands fealty to the machines. [00:34:51] The one man who has not just pledged his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor, but who has spilled a significant amount of that on the field of battle already. [00:35:02] I proudly stand with confidence in the ability, commitment, and integrity of a problem solver. [00:35:10] The one person that can deliver new and innovative solutions to our most difficult problems. [00:35:16] I proudly nominate Mike Lindell for RNC chair. [00:35:20] Thank you. [00:35:24] Thank you. [00:35:25] The chair would now like to recognize Gordon Ackley, state chairman from the U.S. Virgin Islands. [00:35:34] And the names of the following individuals are properly in nomination for chairman of the Republican National Committee. [00:35:50] Ronna McDaniel, Harmeet Dylan, and Mike Lindell. [00:35:55] Before beginning the role of a state, I'd like to go over some brief voting instructions so we can proceed in an orderly manner. [00:36:02] When the state is called, the delegation will proceed to the voting booths located in front of the council's table to my right. [00:36:11] You each have a pen at your desk. [00:36:14] Please bring it with you when you walk to the voting booths. [00:36:17] Blank ballots will be placed in each voting booth upon each delegation's visit to the voting table. [00:36:24] Members are serving, or members are serving as proxy will be provided a corresponding number of ballots. [00:36:31] RNC staff will assist with directing members to their respective voting booths. [00:36:38] All right, so we got a little break going on right there. [00:36:41] You heard the nominations going down. [00:36:43] Look, here's how it works: 168, but you need 85 votes to win. [00:36:49] If no one wins on the first ballot with that 85 majority, it goes to further rounds. [00:36:55] This is similar to what we saw in the Speaker McCarthy race. [00:36:58] Of course, you remember the 15 rounds of voting. [00:37:01] And there's no auto runoff. [00:37:03] We're going through the rules here for this. [00:37:05] You need a majority to win. [00:37:07] There is no automatic runoff. [00:37:09] So it can be as many ballots as it takes. [00:37:11] We remember, of course, the night after night after night, the high drama that was going on with the speakers race here in Washington, D.C., where I sit. [00:37:22] Now, I don't think anyone's expecting the ballots to go that long here for the RNC chair race. [00:37:29] But what's interesting is that we do have, of course, three candidates have been nominated formally. [00:37:36] Ronda Ron McDaniel, Harmeet Dylan, and Mike Lindell. [00:37:40] And the interesting thing is that even as the delegates put their votes in, it is a secret ballot. [00:37:47] So this is not going to be, in a sense, the way that the RNC or excuse me, the speaker race was, that you would know exactly who it was that had voted against, or if somebody voted present, and then you can go over, wrangle the votes, et cetera, et cetera. [00:38:02] We have all those great videos that came out of that. [00:38:03] That was fire content. [00:38:04] I love being able to post those videos. [00:38:07] But what we're going to have here is a secret ballot. [00:38:10] So even if it's close, we don't know who specifically it is. [00:38:14] And I'm going to see, though, I'm going to see if there are ways for us to be able to tell maybe which delegation votes which way, things like that. === Analyzing The Vote Results (15:46) === [00:38:25] We're getting some reports from in the room that there's tons of deals being cut. [00:38:30] The vibe is weird in the room. [00:38:32] Someone just said, believe it or not, someone just said that the loudest applause was for Harmeet in the room. [00:38:38] The loudest applause in the room was for Harmeet. [00:38:43] Interesting. [00:38:44] Interesting. [00:38:45] I'm not there just reading what I'm seeing. [00:38:47] I'm just reading what I'm seeing. [00:38:49] But in theory, if there is a deadlock between the three, in theory, unlikely, but is it possible that a new candidate could emerge if there is a deadlock and nobody can get past those three? [00:39:02] Could a compromise candidate come forward? [00:39:04] Could you have a situation where the Lindell supporters and the Harmeet Dylan supporters come together and go for another candidate? [00:39:13] Maybe there's another reason that Charlie Kirk is there. [00:39:18] I'm just saying, folks. [00:39:19] I'm just saying Charlie Kirk is in the room. [00:39:23] And so it is possible that if we get to a deadlock, that they turn to Charlie and say, sir, if you are nominated, will you serve? [00:39:33] If elected, will you be the RNC chairman, Mr. Charlie Kirk? [00:39:38] I'm just saying, Charlie's Kirk. [00:39:40] I don't know if he's listening right now, but Charlie's going to love that one. [00:39:43] Charlie, I'm putting you, I'm throwing your hat in the ring. [00:39:45] Sorry about that, buddy. [00:39:49] Hey, everybody, Charlie Kirk here. [00:39:50] The inventor and CEO of MyPillow is always looking for ways to solve everyday problems. [00:40:43] Check it out right now. [00:40:44] Mypillow.com, promo code Kirk, mypillow.com, promo code Kirk. [00:40:52] Got a hot tip in from Orange County there in the room. [00:40:56] Four people came up to Charlie and said they were not public, but that they were going to vote for Harmeed. [00:41:02] So this is four people from the 168. [00:41:05] We're also, we also hear that John Fredericks, we may be able to get John Fredericks here in with us in studio. [00:41:12] He's wrapping up another hit, but then he's going to be getting to us. [00:41:14] So John's been rubbing shoulders with everybody there today. [00:41:17] He's going to have a good read on what's on. [00:41:19] That's how John is. [00:41:20] He's very gregarious individual. [00:41:23] And so whenever you see, put him in a room, definitely an extrovert. [00:41:26] He's going to be working that room. [00:41:27] He's going to be talking to everybody, finding out what's going on. [00:41:30] Because we really do want to know in this three-way race, which, as I've said, and I'll ask Charlie Kirk when he comes on the show here, will Charlie Kirk, if it comes down to it, if there is a deadlock, would it be possible for Charlie Kirk to emerge as the consensus candidate between the warring factions? [00:41:54] Probably pick up some Romney people, probably pick up a lot of Harmeet people, probably pick up some Lindell people. [00:41:59] Could it be that Charlie Kirk could get to 85? [00:42:03] And then Charlie Kirk would have to run the RNC and all the problems that come with that. [00:42:07] He's definitely not going to like the fact that I did this. [00:42:10] But don't worry. [00:42:11] You guys do me a favor. [00:42:12] Definitely don't tell him. [00:42:16] What are they saying? [00:42:17] Oh, they're saying Charlie is literally unlovable because he's trying to sway voters right now. [00:42:22] Yeah, but we'll see. [00:42:23] We'll see. [00:42:24] I don't know. [00:42:25] I'm just saying. [00:42:25] I'm just saying, guys, I don't know. [00:42:28] I think, look, let's unmove, excuse me, unmovable. [00:42:31] So we're about to be joined by Charlie Kirk. [00:42:33] The vote is imminent. [00:42:35] In fact, the voting is going on right now, but of course, because it's secret ballot, it's not the same as when we had the speaker's race and the speaker's race. [00:42:42] We were able to see every vote. [00:42:43] It's very dramatic. [00:42:44] People get up, they actually call out their votes. [00:42:47] It's actually wonderful. [00:42:48] I love that. [00:42:48] But I also understand the importance for secret ballot at times as well. [00:42:51] And so I would honestly, at this point, if you're a member of the RNC, if you're an elected member, if you're there in an official capacity, I don't think it should be a secret ballot. [00:43:02] I'm for a secret ballot for the citizens. [00:43:04] That's different. [00:43:05] But I want, I think that it should actually be public. [00:43:07] We were about to go live. [00:43:08] We've got folks, the host of the Charlie Kirk Show here joining us live from Orange County himself. [00:43:14] Charlie, tell us what's in the mood in the room. [00:43:16] What's going on? [00:43:17] Hey, Jack, sorry for the delay, been actually working the room talking to members all morning. [00:43:22] I'll be honest, it's a very strange vibe. [00:43:24] There's not a lot of enthusiasm for Rana. [00:43:26] Rana still might win. [00:43:26] She's definitely the favorite, just talking to some members, but there's not a lot of enthusiasm there. [00:43:31] But credit to Harmeet and her team. [00:43:33] They've worked very hard. [00:43:35] I had a couple of members come up to me and they said, hey, I can't tell anyone, but I am going to be voting for Harmeet. [00:43:40] So they're going through a roll call right now. [00:43:41] They're calling state by state by state. [00:43:44] And the three members from each state come up and then cast their ballot. [00:43:47] And then there's a tabulation of the results and there'll be a lot of suspense. [00:43:50] And it's going to require somebody to get the majority of votes here. [00:43:54] So as President Trump says, we'll see what happens. [00:43:57] We're working it really, really hard though, Jack. [00:44:00] And I feel an obligation to do so because our audience has been emailing us 50, 60, 70,000 emails about this saying, Charlie, we care about who's going to run the RNC. [00:44:09] We want to win. [00:44:09] We're tired of losing. [00:44:10] We want to see us, the grassroots wishes actually represented. [00:44:13] So I felt an obligation to be here on the ground. [00:44:17] No guarantees. [00:44:19] I'm keeping my expectations low and manage them, but there's a lot more support for a change at the RNC than I think ever was expected this late in the game, Jack. [00:44:29] Charlie, a process question. [00:44:30] This is something that we were just chatting a little before you came on about how it goes. [00:44:34] Now, this isn't like the speaker race, obviously, where people get up and they announce their vote and you can see who it is. [00:44:40] Now, in terms of the delegations and the tabulation, though, is there even a way to see the way a state delegation voted or is it completely locked? [00:44:48] It's completely secret ballot. [00:44:50] Now, the tabulators might know that, but they're not supposed to tell anyone. [00:44:54] I actually think a secret ballot's a really good thing here, especially when you're dealing with basically a country club election. [00:45:01] That's what you're dealing with right here. [00:45:03] This is not a race for the RNC. [00:45:05] This is a race for Augusta National, basically. [00:45:09] It's the members of a very high and elite country club. [00:45:12] Yeah, exactly. [00:45:14] And that's where we're at. [00:45:16] And I actually think that's part of the problem because the grassroots, I think, actually needs to actually have a voice in the party and the direction of where the party is going and whether or not they're going to listen to their voters. [00:45:28] But this has been so instructive for me, Jack. [00:45:30] As you know, I've been traveling the country like crazy. [00:45:32] I was all over the place, made a priority to be here to actually talk to these members and hear what I consider to be lackluster arguments for why the current regime needs to stay in place was very illuminating. [00:45:44] And I had one guy, I tweeted this quote out. [00:45:46] I said, you do know that 98% of the people that put you where you are think it's time for change. [00:45:51] And he said, I don't give a flying flip what the small dollar donors think. [00:45:55] They're not voting today. [00:45:56] That's not every member. [00:45:57] I want to be very clear, but there certainly is that attitude here. [00:46:00] Now, Charlie, and correct me if I'm wrong, but you just came from Tallahassee on one side of the country where you were interviewing Governor Ron DeSantis. [00:46:09] And now here we find you in Orange County. [00:46:12] So it definitely took the red eye last night. [00:46:15] We also saw an extreme, I don't even know if you could see it if you had Wi-Fi or whatever on the plane, but the entire media, the entire political media, Politico, Axios, Washington Post, CNN, Fox, they were all covering your interview with Governor Ron DeSantis. [00:46:31] We hear that, you know, we were told that it was like a tactical nuke or one of Putin's hypersonic missiles going off there. [00:46:38] Tell us, what has the effect of that interview been there in the room at Dana Point? [00:46:42] I've had at least 20 members come up and mention it to me saying that it was the talk of the RNC in the last 24 hours. [00:46:48] And I'm pleased. [00:46:49] Obviously, Governor DeSantis said something that I fully agree with. [00:46:54] And it was totally unscripted. [00:46:55] I had no idea what he was going to say or his sentiments on it. [00:46:58] If you watched the interview, I just said, hey, they're meeting in Dana Point. [00:47:00] Like, what do you think? [00:47:01] And he said, it's time for fleshblood. [00:47:02] It's time to change. [00:47:03] I like what Harmit Dylan has said. [00:47:05] That's powerful words. [00:47:06] In fact, he weighed in more heavily than Donald Trump has in this race, which I find to be notable, interesting, and noticeable. [00:47:12] And so, look, this is very important. [00:47:15] The grassroots is going to, the grassroots is going to determine who is going to be the nominee in 2024. [00:47:24] But the actual machinery of the RNC is so critically important. [00:47:28] And win or lose here, I have no idea what's going to happen. [00:47:31] As I said, Ron is obviously the favorite, but it's a really positive thing that so many people have weighed in and now they're aware. [00:47:39] And this party is metamorphosizing in front of our very eyes to actually become more people-centric and listen to their voters. [00:47:46] And I think that's a good thing. [00:47:47] I hope it actually manifests in a change in leadership. [00:47:51] Are you saying that it's directed evolution? [00:47:53] Is it mutating through directed evolution? [00:47:55] Possibly. [00:47:56] Yeah, it's going through data function research is what it's going through. [00:48:00] So directed evolution. [00:48:01] You can't say that. [00:48:02] Charlie, a question that's right. [00:48:03] I know it's the new term. [00:48:05] Right, right. [00:48:06] Is there any regional breakdown that we know of? [00:48:08] Are our red or blue states more establishment, pro-change? [00:48:12] Are you seeing any trends like that? [00:48:14] Yeah, so this is just from talk. [00:48:16] Again, I talked to probably 50 members this morning, shook a lot of hands. [00:48:20] Yeah, and this is just while you were hosting my show. [00:48:24] Thank you, Jack. [00:48:24] I was out in that hall and in this room, just going and introducing myself and saying hi. [00:48:29] And there were some members that did not want to talk to me and they did not like me here. [00:48:33] And there's some members that were super enthusiastic. [00:48:35] So there's obviously that divide. [00:48:36] And that's fine. [00:48:37] That's kind of part of how things work. [00:48:39] Definitely the American South, very, very in favor of change in leadership. [00:48:43] The South, incredibly upset. [00:48:46] The South, not happy. [00:48:48] The West, a little split. [00:48:49] Northeast is very pro-Rana. [00:48:51] Midwest is about 50-50. [00:48:53] And so, yeah, you tabulate that all together. [00:48:55] There you go. [00:48:56] And Jack, I know the break schedule very well. [00:48:58] You're doing a great job. [00:48:59] Thank you. [00:48:59] I'm going to go back to trying to talk to folks and we'll see what happens. [00:49:02] Thanks, Jack. [00:49:02] God bless. [00:49:03] Appreciate it, Charlie. [00:49:04] God bless. [00:49:05] All right. [00:49:05] And I want to get on as well. [00:49:07] Charlie's out there working, folks. [00:49:08] Charlie's out there working. [00:49:10] He's working for you. [00:49:11] Look, he didn't have to be there. [00:49:12] He could have done the show. [00:49:13] He could have said, he could have just sat back in the studio in Arizona. [00:49:17] He's got a great studio, very nice studio. [00:49:20] He's got everybody there. [00:49:22] It's all the way across the country. [00:49:24] He's doing this because he actually believes in the things that he says. [00:49:28] So make sure that you send in your questions, your comments, your suggestions. [00:49:32] Freedom at CharlieKirk.com and understand. [00:49:34] He took that red eye last night from Tallahassee all the way to Orange County, California. [00:49:39] So from the Gulf of Mexico to Orange County, California, because he believes in what he's doing. [00:49:48] We are live with John Fredericks, the host of Outside the Beltway. [00:49:52] He is there in Orange County Dana Point. [00:49:54] John, tell us what's going on in the room. [00:49:56] Well, right now here, we're live, Jack. [00:49:58] Thanks for having me on the Charlie Kirk show. [00:50:00] Charlie's here, as you know, as well. [00:50:02] We've been here since Monday. [00:50:03] The voting is going on right now. [00:50:05] I think they just went over Nevada. [00:50:08] So probably about 20 minutes, half hour, the voting will be done. [00:50:12] And then they'll count the votes. [00:50:13] Hopefully, it's going to be a little bit faster than Arizona. [00:50:16] No machines involved. [00:50:18] These are paper ballots. [00:50:19] The biggest opportunity here, Jack, for Hermit Dylan is this is a secret ballot. [00:50:25] Exactly. [00:50:26] There's no last. [00:50:27] They call them state by state. [00:50:29] There's only three votes each per state or territory. [00:50:32] So McDaniel is going to be 86 votes on the first ballot. [00:50:37] Alphabetical. [00:50:38] Alphabetical. [00:50:39] Okay. [00:50:39] Yeah. [00:50:41] Yeah. [00:50:41] So they're in there. [00:50:42] They're in there voting now. [00:50:43] Do you think that any of the candidates will have 86 on the first ballot just based on your read of yes? [00:50:50] Yes. [00:50:51] Yes. [00:50:53] I would be shocked if this went to a second ballot. [00:50:55] I mean, Mike Lindell has a handful of votes, really, but those on a second ballot, if it goes to a second ballot, Harmeet Dylan's going to be the chair. [00:51:06] There's no way McDaniel survives a second ballot because if five or six or seven people vote for Lindell, there's no way they're voting for McDaniel. [00:51:14] They'd vote for Harmeet on the second ballot, who is clearly in second place. [00:51:19] As I said a little bit earlier, the wild card here, Jack, is the secret ballot. [00:51:24] I mean, McDaniel went into this thing today, about 15, 16 votes ahead. [00:51:30] Eight or nine people, seven to nine people have to flip on a secret ballot. [00:51:35] Whether or not that happens, time will tell. [00:51:38] But I got to tell you, Jack, the tone deafness of the people in charge of the Republican National Committee right now, they are tone deaf. [00:51:48] The complete disconnection with the grassroots is stunning. [00:51:53] I don't know how you have a party when you don't talk to your own people that are supporting you, the working people of the United States. [00:52:00] I mean, they have no clue as to what is going on outside of the bubble here. [00:52:07] And if Ronna McDaniel is successful on this first ballot, I mean, the party is going to collapse because nobody is going to give them any money. [00:52:17] Nobody is going to knock on any doors. [00:52:19] Nobody's going to do anything. [00:52:20] I mean, they just don't get it, Jack. [00:52:23] Charlie was just saying that there were people in the room that didn't even want to talk to him. [00:52:26] I mean, talk to Charlie Kirk. [00:52:29] You know, I mean, you could at least say hi. [00:52:31] I mean, he's chairman of Turning Boy. [00:52:34] He runs one of the most successful shows. [00:52:35] You can at least say hi. [00:52:37] He said they wouldn't even give him the time of day there. [00:52:39] That's how bad it is. [00:52:41] Well, Jack, what has happened here is I've been here since Monday. [00:52:46] My wife and Fredericks, who's the chief operating officer of our company, we've been here since Monday. [00:52:52] This is a total media lockdown. [00:52:55] Basically, we couldn't even get media credentials until today at 8:30 a.m. [00:53:01] And the RNC put out numerous memos instructing their members not to talk to anybody in the media lest they be reported. [00:53:10] We tried to have a gaggle in the lobby two nights ago with Carrie Lake, a press gaggle with Harmeed and Carrie Lake and the RNC, RNC head security come and throw us out. [00:53:28] I mean, we've got about 90 seconds left in the show. [00:53:34] Tell us, regardless of what happens, what should the folks at home be ready for this weekend? [00:53:40] What should they do? [00:53:41] They should be ready to tell the RNC if McDaniel wins, we're done. [00:53:47] They're not going to get any money, right? [00:53:49] They're not going to get any volunteers. [00:53:51] And to take this party over, what we now understand with the transparency, Jack, that we brought is that the 168 people that are here, in two years, half of them are going to get, they're going to be gone because, Jack, we're going to vote them out so we can get a chairman that cares about us. === Final Thoughts And Next Steps (01:05) === [00:54:11] I love this. [00:54:12] John Fredericks, thank you so much for joining us. [00:54:14] Thank you so much for giving us that update from the ground there. [00:54:18] We're going to make sure to be able to cover all of this as we continue. [00:54:20] This show here is ending, but I'll encourage everybody. [00:54:23] I'm sure you'll be on tomorrow, right? [00:54:26] Yes. [00:54:26] Yeah, you'll be on tomorrow from there. [00:54:29] Well, from Phoenix. [00:54:30] And then, so we'll have all the updates continue to go in War Room. [00:54:33] I'm sure we'll have the updates as we go. [00:54:35] But folks, we need to understand, and Charlie said this as well, that the RNC is not the RNC of your grandparents, of your parents. [00:54:44] The RNC is ripe for a hostile takeover. [00:54:48] And if not so, at least on this ballot, then perhaps running for office, getting into those positions of the RNC National Committee chairs and telling these people that they can shove it because we're taking the party back and there's nothing you can do about it.
