[00:00:47] Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. [00:00:49] I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. [00:00:52] Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. [00:00:56] I want to thank Charlie. [00:00:57] He's an incredible guy. [00:00:58] His spirit, his love of this country. [00:01:00] He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created. [00:01:05] Turning point USA. [00:01:06] We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. [00:01:15] That's why we are here. [00:01:18] Brought to you by the Loan Experts I Trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandTodd.com. [00:01:27] Look who I found at our Young Women's Leadership Summit. [00:01:30] Hey, Charlie, how's it going? [00:01:31] How have you been? [00:01:32] It's been a very long time since I've seen you. [00:01:34] I feel like I see you every couple months now. [00:01:36] It's been a while. [00:01:38] I ran into you very briefly at the 2000 Mules airing. [00:01:44] Yep. [00:01:44] And you were being mobbed. [00:01:47] Well, so were you, Charlie? [00:01:48] I got out of there, though. [00:01:50] There's too many people. [00:01:51] For those of you listening, you say, I know that voice. [00:01:52] That's Kyle Rittenhouse, everybody. [00:01:54] Kyle, welcome back to the program. [00:01:57] And you look like you're doing great. [00:01:59] I am. [00:01:59] I'm doing really good. [00:02:00] I went wakeboarding over the weekend and wake surfing at AF Wake. [00:02:04] It was awesome. [00:02:05] Yeah. [00:02:06] Extremely sore still. [00:02:09] I don't feel my hands right now from holding on to the wakeboarding rope. [00:02:13] But that's all right. [00:02:14] It was awesome. [00:02:14] And I can't wait to do it again. [00:02:15] So you sent out a tweet the other day that I thought was really important, which is, you know, without the Second Amendment, I wouldn't be alive. [00:02:22] Absolutely. [00:02:23] The Second Amendment saved me. [00:02:25] Like, if I didn't have that rifle to defend myself against those attackers, I would be dead. [00:02:31] And it's so critically important that people recognize that and realize that the Second Amendment saves people's lives every single day. [00:02:39] Absolutely. [00:02:40] And you're living proof of that. [00:02:43] And so you have a couple announcements that you want to make here on this program. [00:02:47] Yep. [00:02:48] And the first of which is let's kind of talk about what you could talk about with the lawsuit stuff. [00:02:52] Let's start there. [00:02:53] So are you able to talk a little bit about the lawsuit stuff? [00:02:57] Well, what I will say is that we hired Todd McMurtry, Nick Sandman's attorney, to help with these lawsuits and that we're going to be taking on some cases really soon. [00:03:10] You know, I'm just saying, but new report out, Kyle. [00:03:14] LeBron James is a billionaire now. [00:03:16] Oh, just, I don't know if that's helpful. [00:03:19] I don't know if that might be something that you guys might want to take a look at, but he could definitely pay. [00:03:25] LeBron's got a lot of money. [00:03:28] And then the other thing is, I was actually in, I was actually in Texas a couple weeks ago touring a couple campuses. [00:03:36] Dave has some really good friends out there. [00:03:38] So we went out there and they're really connected with Texas AM and toured the campus. [00:03:44] So he's ready to make it. [00:03:49] Wow, everybody, it's a big deal. [00:03:51] Right here in the Charlie Kirk show. [00:03:53] Kyle Rittenhouse is announcing that he's an Aggie. [00:03:56] So I'm going to be going there. [00:03:58] It's going to be awesome. [00:03:59] Beautiful campus, amazing people, amazing food. [00:04:04] We went to Dixie's Chicken there. [00:04:07] Best burgers I've ever heard. [00:04:08] That's why he's going. [00:04:09] Dixie's chicken, everybody. [00:04:10] Now, you know what they say at AM? [00:04:13] They say, gigum. [00:04:14] Gigam. [00:04:14] And you know how they say hello? [00:04:16] They say, howdy. [00:04:16] Howdy. [00:04:17] So there you go. [00:04:19] And so you're going to, you're going to be, are you going to join the Corps of Cadets? [00:04:22] I haven't decided yet. [00:04:24] I may. [00:04:25] You know what you should, you know what Kyle should do? [00:04:27] You should become Yell Leader at Texas AM. [00:04:29] Do you know what the Yell Leader is? [00:04:32] What is the Yell Leader? [00:04:33] So the Yell Leader, I actually have known, I know a Yell Leader by the name of Jonathan. [00:04:37] He's a good guy. [00:04:37] So the Yell Leader, he is in charge of pumping up the 12th man, which is the crowd at AM at Kyle. [00:04:44] I think it's called Kyle Field. [00:04:46] Yeah, is that right? [00:04:47] At Kyle Field. [00:04:48] And the Yell Leader is just kind of like the guy that gets everyone going. [00:04:52] You don't really strike me as a Yell Leader, but you should totally try for it. [00:04:55] It's like a big deal. [00:04:56] You're kind of known as kind of like the, you can look it up. [00:04:58] You know who was a Yell Leader? [00:04:59] Was Rick Perry was a Yell leader way back when. [00:05:02] So if you want to be governor of Texas, you can become a Yell Leader. [00:05:04] Oh. [00:05:05] I think I may have to look at becoming a Yell Leader. [00:05:08] That sounds really fun. [00:05:09] So what do I do is I just go to all the football games and I start the chance, right? [00:05:13] It's a little bit more involved than that. [00:05:15] People can look it up. [00:05:16] No, it's called Aggie Yell Leaders, right? [00:05:18] It's a big deal. [00:05:20] There's one per class. [00:05:22] There might be actually a couple now. [00:05:24] But it's kind of like this tradition that they've had for a while. [00:05:28] And so I love Texas AM. [00:05:29] You know who went to AM is Sarah Schmachtenberger. [00:05:33] Yeah, one of our team leaders. [00:05:34] Oh, yeah, went to AM. [00:05:36] So she could come by and she's probably rejoicing. [00:05:37] Listen, you get to wear that beautiful uniform when you become a yell leader. [00:05:42] You know, I could really pull off that uniform, too. [00:05:45] I think it'll really show my eyes, make them glitter. [00:05:48] It will. [00:05:48] So this is it, right? [00:05:50] They're doing that. [00:05:51] And so they're kind of like in charge of pumping up the crowd and all that. [00:05:54] So AM's a great place. [00:05:56] I'm pleased for you, man. [00:05:57] It's great. [00:05:58] Thank you, Charlie. [00:05:58] It's going to be awesome. [00:05:59] It's going to be an amazing experience where I can go and I can finally get an education. [00:06:03] Over the past six months, I've been out having fun, living my life, being a free man. [00:06:09] Now it's time to go and get an education, get good grades, and be a good school in life and have fun. [00:06:16] Yeah, you totally deserve it, man. [00:06:18] AM is a fun place to go to school. [00:06:20] Oh, yeah. [00:06:21] It is. [00:06:22] Yeah, it's going to be awesome. [00:06:23] It's going to be a wonderful experience. [00:06:25] And my favorite part is I'm going to be able to get an education. [00:06:29] So what are you going to be studying? [00:06:31] I haven't declared a major yet, and I don't have to. [00:06:35] I still have a couple years. [00:06:36] I already changed my mind like three times what I wanted to do. [00:06:39] I said on your show, I wanted to be a lawyer. [00:06:42] Now I want to be a pilot. [00:06:43] Pilots, and they got a lot of options there, though. [00:06:47] Yep. [00:06:48] And you could join our Turning Point USA chapter, which you could always come by. [00:06:51] I'm sure you'd be a rock star at our Turning Point USA. [00:06:54] Maybe. [00:06:56] And they have, as I mentioned, they have the Corps Cadets there. [00:06:58] So yeah, I just, I think it's really important that we kind of remember how intense the trial was and kind of how all that was and what you've been through. [00:07:06] And kind of as we're debating guns and all of that, it's without your ability to defend yourself, you know, you wouldn't be going to Texas AM. [00:07:14] You'd be going somewhere else, unfortunately. [00:07:17] And so, yeah, I just think it's really important that we remember that and we ponder that. [00:07:22] And, you know, we look at this kind of whole nationwide debate right now around firearms and around guns. [00:07:29] I just think we have to remember that, you know, there's evil in this world. [00:07:34] Absolutely. [00:07:34] Self-defense is a human right. [00:07:36] Absolutely. [00:07:37] Self-defense is a God-given right. [00:07:39] Yeah, it really is. [00:07:40] And so, all right, well, let's take some questions from our audience here. [00:07:43] You okay with that? [00:07:43] Yeah, let's take some questions. [00:07:45] All right, I'll answer them and you answer them. [00:07:46] How about this one? [00:07:47] So let me do this one. [00:07:50] How early do you wake up? [00:07:52] It depends on the day. [00:07:53] Today I woke up at 8:30. [00:07:55] Yesterday I woke up at noon. [00:07:58] Okay, so it's a sliding scale. [00:08:00] So I'm sure, you know, in college, it'll be probably very similar. [00:08:04] Most of the time, because I fly early in the morning, I wake up at 4:30. [00:08:09] Can you sleep on planes? [00:08:11] I can, but not when I'm flying. [00:08:13] Oh, you mean when you get your pilot? [00:08:14] Yeah. [00:08:14] When you're doing your pilot's deal. [00:08:16] Okay. [00:08:16] I don't think my instructor would be very happy if I followed it. [00:08:19] I thought you meant as a passenger. [00:08:21] Yeah, as a passenger, I sleep in the plane. [00:08:23] Okay. [00:08:23] Yes, some people can't sleep on planes. [00:08:25] So, you're actively trying to get your pilot's license. [00:08:27] Yeah. [00:08:28] How is that going? [00:08:28] I'll have my private pilot license in July. [00:08:32] Really? [00:08:32] Yep. [00:08:33] How many hours do you have to do to put into that to get that? [00:08:35] You have to get 40 hours. [00:08:37] I'm at about 20, 25 hours. [00:08:39] What have you been flying? [00:08:40] I've been flying a Cessna Skyhawk 172. [00:08:44] That's amazing. [00:08:45] What's the thing that you've learned that, like the thing that just stands out that you learned just about navigation, aviation? [00:08:52] The thing I've learned about aviation actually is not to panic if you do something wrong, to always fly the aircraft. [00:09:00] Just fly the plane and do that first before you do the next thing and just take a deep breath and something goes wrong. [00:09:08] So we were doing a stall training and I pulled the yoke up way too back and I didn't have the ball centered and we started to go into a spin and that was a little scary, but thankfully you had an instructor to kind of yeah. [00:09:21] And I learned you use rudder, like opposite of the spin and then throttle and how that stall and spin. === Flying Without Panic (07:07) === [00:09:29] That's amazing. [00:09:30] It is awesome to see kind of people that get into aviation and really start to kind of understand it. [00:09:38] And so you think you might have a career? [00:09:40] Oh, yeah, I love it. [00:09:41] Flying is the best thing in the world. [00:09:43] What I love most about flying is the freedom I have just up there in the clouds. [00:09:49] There's nothing like it. [00:09:51] Seeing God's creation and just enjoying it, enjoying how the airplane flies and being in control of that plane. [00:10:02] I love it. [00:10:02] It's just the best thing in the entire planet. [00:10:07] Have you looked at how much of Russia is inside your 401k or IRA? [00:10:11] Did you know my friends at PAX Financial Group have zero investments in Russia through their biblical investment strategy? [00:10:17] Those companies were screened out long ago because they didn't pass the treat people right test. [00:10:21] One of the most important tenets of the Christian faith is to love your neighbor, and this includes to love your employees. [00:10:26] Based on PAX's biblical responsible investment strategy, a company, domestic or international, is excluded from an investment from your portfolio if it violates our innate God-given fundamental rights. [00:10:37] So PAX Financial is wonderful. [00:10:39] They share our values. [00:10:40] In fact, I know people that have switched to PAX Financial from our partnership, and they speak so favorably about it. [00:10:46] Stop using the woke money managers. [00:10:49] PAX Financial is rooted in biblical wisdom. [00:10:53] So if you have $150,000 or more and would like to know more about biblical responsible investing at PAX Financial Group, text Charlie to number 74868. [00:11:03] That's Charlie at number 74868. [00:11:06] That's Charlie to number 74868. [00:11:10] So you just take out your phone, text the number 74868, and type in Charlie to get to know about PAX Biblical Responsible Investing, biblical responsible investing strategy. [00:11:22] Take out your phone, text Charlie to 74868. [00:11:27] They're about to manage some money for me. [00:11:29] I really think highly of PAX Financial. [00:11:31] Text Charlie to number 74868. [00:11:36] Yeah, so while I was on trial, I announced that I was going to not Texas AM, ASU. [00:11:46] I remember. [00:11:46] And I said on the stand, and then they came out immediately. [00:11:50] They're like, no, no, he doesn't come here. [00:11:52] They force withdrew me from classes. [00:11:54] They didn't refund any of the money that I paid for the classes. [00:11:58] And then once I was acquitted, they protested me. [00:12:01] The school opened an investigation against me. [00:12:04] And it's just ridiculous. [00:12:06] Like, so what I had to go through at ASU just to try and get a fair education is ridiculous. [00:12:12] No, no, it's outrageous. [00:12:14] No American should ever have to go through that. [00:12:16] No, we're going to work to get your money back. [00:12:18] And then if we have a new governor, we've got to make some changes at ASU. [00:12:22] I'll tell you what. [00:12:22] This is, you know, I live in Arizona, as you well know. [00:12:24] We're not going to put up with it. [00:12:25] It's a waste of time. [00:12:27] Okay. [00:12:28] So, Kyle, we have a question here: freedom at charliekirk.com. [00:12:32] Are you able to date? [00:12:34] Yes. [00:12:34] Since the Women's Summit, 2,500 options. [00:12:38] So, actually, I do have a girlfriend. [00:12:39] She's actually a TPUSA girl. [00:12:42] That's a big deal. [00:12:43] I think I know who you're talking about. [00:12:45] Not going to say any names. [00:12:46] For the internet salutes out there, you could try to figure it out. [00:12:49] So tell us about her. [00:12:51] Well, she's amazing. [00:12:52] I was actually with her a couple days ago at Lake Gaston. [00:12:55] She got up on a wakeboard for the first time and she absolutely shredded it and did better than me. [00:13:01] I hate to admit that, but I don't know what happened there. [00:13:05] See, he's honest. [00:13:07] That's great. [00:13:08] And so you're officially dating somebody. [00:13:10] Yes, sir. [00:13:11] That's amazing. [00:13:12] And so that you just now made 2,500 young women really upset. [00:13:17] My apologies. [00:13:18] That's all right. [00:13:20] But no, we're really happy with you. [00:13:21] And it's major news, everybody. [00:13:23] It's major news, Kyle Rittenhouse. [00:13:24] We'll be in headlines tomorrow, Charlie. [00:13:26] It's going to be all over. [00:13:27] Breaking. [00:13:27] Breaking news. [00:13:28] Kyle Rittenhouse dates TPUSA Charlie Kirk girl. [00:13:32] Yeah, that's what I was going to say. [00:13:34] That's what I was going to say. [00:13:35] Just TPUSA. [00:13:36] Kyle Rittenhouse dates TPUSA. [00:13:39] There you go. [00:13:39] Yeah, he dates the whole organization. [00:13:42] We're not going to put Kyle in charge of PR. [00:13:44] What do you think? [00:13:45] No. [00:13:45] But it'll be Texas AM. [00:13:47] It'll be all of that. [00:13:48] But no, Kyle, I think that I speak for a lot of our audience that, you know, people really feel like they got to know you throughout the last year. [00:13:56] And people kind of saw in you a lot of their kids, their grandkids, and themselves of just kind of the falsely accused and an unbelievably aggressive prosecution, right? [00:14:08] Like where the government has incredible power. [00:14:11] And your case was kind of a guilty until proven innocent case. [00:14:16] You almost had to prove your innocence. [00:14:17] Oh, yeah, absolutely. [00:14:19] The prosecutor in this case tried to take away my rights. [00:14:22] He did stuff to videos by like altering them. [00:14:26] Altering videos, changing stuff in them, then trying to use them, lying to the courts, and just prosecutorial overreach. [00:14:35] Yes. [00:14:36] And what we need to take away prosecutors' immunity, qualified immunity, because he needs to pay for what he did. [00:14:44] Is this Lunchbox or Binger? [00:14:45] This is both of them. [00:14:46] Both of them. [00:14:48] They're both just absolutely terrible. [00:14:50] And so this is interesting because we're kind of living through this moment where we're not really appreciating kind of the presumption of innocence and due process and kind of the ability to be able to defend oneself. [00:15:02] And you did this successfully. [00:15:04] And you were able to kind of push back against a hyper-aggressive government that wanted you in prison badly to try to score cheap political points regardless of the consequences. [00:15:17] Yeah. [00:15:18] So everybody has the right to defend themselves, defend their life, and then defend themselves in court. [00:15:24] Binger didn't want me to defend myself at all. [00:15:28] He tried to get the names of my donors from that donator, Free Kyle USA. [00:15:35] Wow. [00:15:35] There's so much corruption that went on in that office. [00:15:38] And it really, it just hurts. [00:15:40] It's kind of disturbing that a government agency can do that to answer. [00:15:46] The good news is that, you know, your whole story, Kyle, is the Constitution at its best, from self-defense to due process. [00:15:54] You know, we'll see what happens, everybody, with Kyle Rittenhouse and these lawsuits. [00:15:58] I don't know. [00:15:59] We'll see what happens. [00:16:00] I just have to say, I'll just remind Kyle's team. [00:16:03] Just remind them, LeBron James is a billionaire. [00:16:06] Just in case you guys forgot. [00:16:08] And accountability is coming. [00:16:10] So if you want to be updated on things, go to tmap.org. [00:16:14] Say that again. [00:16:15] Tmap.org. [00:16:17] T-M-A-P. [00:16:18] Yep. [00:16:18] T-M-A-P.org. [00:16:20] T-M-A-P.org, which is the media accountability project. [00:16:25] And they could donate to support there. [00:16:27] Accountability now, t-m-ap-org. [00:16:31] Yep. [00:16:31] God bless you, Kyle. [00:16:32] Have fun at TexANM. [00:16:33] Congratulations on the girlfriend. === Defending Ozark's Story (07:34) === [00:16:36] Thank you, Charlie. [00:16:37] Remain nameless and enjoy the Young Women's Leadership Summit as 2,500 young conservative women get very jealous of a certain person. [00:16:45] We'll see what happens. [00:17:36] You mentioned liking the Netflix series Ozark several podcasts ago, and if I'm not mistaken, it was just a side-on to all that would happen in Netflix diminishing ratings as of late. [00:17:44] I decided to check it out, and I enjoy new dramas and thrills to an extent. [00:17:49] I am only a few episodes into season one, and while I actually enjoy the storyline and plot, it does seem to contain, hold on one second, contain all the modern-day adult content, language, sex, nudity, violence, et cetera, that most drama series do. [00:18:02] After mulling it over, I want to ask your opinion on Christians watching such content. [00:18:06] This is really not about Ozark specifically, but Ozark did ignite a spark of all movies and shows that provide such content. [00:18:12] Please do not misunderstand my question as stemming from judgment from a place of genuine sincerity. [00:18:16] It's beautifully written. [00:18:17] Thank you. [00:18:18] I know we are here to walk in our convictions with fear and trembling, and one person's convictions may or may not be another's. [00:18:24] But I know the Bible also empathizes being holy as he is holy. [00:18:27] How do you reconcile what you watch and hear back to the Bible? [00:18:30] Is it just a matter of fast-forwarding certain scenes or actually watching them because they are not your convictions? [00:18:35] Again, this is said with complete sincerity. [00:18:37] Thank you for your potential response. [00:18:39] I very much enjoy your podcast and listen just about every day. [00:18:42] God bless TPSA and all the work you're called to do. [00:18:44] Cheers, Brooke. [00:18:45] What a great question. [00:18:46] So I'll take kind of the Ozark question in particular. [00:18:50] And look, this is a struggle that I have, and I think a lot of other people have, which is kind of where do you draw the line between the content that you consume when it might be filled with all this other bad language and potentially sexually explicit scenes and also trying to find some form of entertainment or appreciation of art. [00:19:12] And it's a kind of a constant struggle. [00:19:13] So I've developed a couple rules for myself, which is I don't watch it alone. [00:19:17] I'll watch it with my wife. [00:19:18] And if we feel that the smuttiness or the nonsense of it just reaches such a threshold, we just turn it off. [00:19:23] Now, I'll be very honest. [00:19:25] Ozark is an exception to my general rule. [00:19:28] Ozark, first of all, the last season was absolutely dreadful and awful. [00:19:32] It ended terribly. [00:19:33] So don't waste your time. [00:19:34] But the first and second and third season of Ozark, I think, is some of the best written television that I have seen outside of the smuttiness and the gross, awful nature of some of the content. [00:19:44] But the actual storyline of what will you do with your family? [00:19:47] Will you descend? [00:19:48] How far can you descend into darkness? [00:19:50] You stop yourself on the moral continuum is legitimately very, very well-written art and very real moral situations that I think people find themselves in on a daily basis. [00:20:00] And so, the question is: kind of where do you strike that balance? [00:20:02] You have to pray for wisdom and prudence. [00:20:04] And so, when I watch Ozark, I'm not like super excited that they're swearing every other word. [00:20:08] I mean, Ruth Langmore in the series, you literally can't see a scene where she's not saying, AF this and F that. [00:20:14] Like, she just gets to be almost overkill. [00:20:16] In fact, it got to this, got to the point that actually in the last season, I said, Did she say anything else besides a swear word to just open up every single sentence? [00:20:23] It just kind of became this running joke and almost became unenjoyable to watch. [00:20:28] But I think, I suppose, a better kind of example of kind of where do you draw the line is kind of like a series such as Breaking Bad. [00:20:35] I think Breaking Bad has some very strong kind of some very strong arguments that could be made within the series that question kind of how does one breaking bad and Ozark are similar in the sense. [00:20:48] How does one control, if at all, the descent into darkness? [00:20:52] Does the end justify the means? [00:20:54] These are very, you know, clear moral questions. [00:20:56] And this is a question kind of in art in general, right? [00:21:00] So, this is something where someone asked me, Hey, Charlie, why do you recommend 1984? [00:21:05] It has a sex scene in it. [00:21:07] And I get that. [00:21:08] And the question is, does the art potentially justify enduring the smut? [00:21:13] That's the question you have to ask, which is, does the, and what is art, right? [00:21:17] The art is the portrayal of what is good, true, or beautiful in a way that can communicate it and hopefully develop your soul and create a better person. [00:21:25] And so, in the case of either Breaking Bad or Ozark or House of Cards, where they have these kind of violent scenes and the stuff that could be rather unenjoyable, I'm not saying that you should support it, but there can be an argument, at least in my personal life, where I don't support it. [00:21:39] I might fast-forward through certain scenes of it, I might skip ahead, but there is some beautiful, I think, writing happening that can portray a broader kind of moral paradigm, right? [00:21:53] And here's the problem: most Christian films and most Christian content that is Christian explicit, their writing is awful and their production value is terrible. [00:22:02] It just is. [00:22:03] Now, the chosen, I actually think, is an exception to that. [00:22:06] But I even get hate mail when I plug the chosen because people say, Charlie, it's extra biblical and it's inferring things that Jesus said. [00:22:13] Again, I have kind of a mixed opinion. [00:22:15] I could see it both ways. [00:22:17] But I think for parents out there, you're probably going through the very same struggle that I go through because I try to police what I consume. [00:22:22] I think you become what you consume from music to the things you look at to the television shows. [00:22:28] And so, I make no qualms about it. [00:22:30] Breaking Bad to House of Cards to Ozark, which are three shows that I'm very familiar with and that I think have some, let's just say, some lessons that could be learned from a house of cards to a lesser extent. [00:22:44] That's kind of just drivel post-season one. [00:22:46] You have to look at it first and from an adult context and you ask yourself, what is the goal? [00:22:51] Being entertained is part of the goal. [00:22:52] But if you feel as if it pushes yourself to boundaries where you ask yourself the question, what would I do in a situation like this? [00:22:58] Could I ever see myself? [00:22:59] I mean, look, part of the attraction of the writing in the film, in the movie, the TV series Ozark, until it kind of went off the reservation when it went kind of in just this incredibly morally confusing bend towards the end, the worst ending of a television show I've ever seen, period, made Game of Thrones ending look good, which is this question of you could see an aspirational kind of suburban money manager like Marty Bird making this kind of sequence of choices. [00:23:26] Oh, yeah, I just want to make a little money. [00:23:27] I'll take the meeting. [00:23:28] The next thing you know, you're laundering money for the Mexican drug cartel. [00:23:32] And all of a sudden, it's kind of the small sins become the big sins. [00:23:35] Now, for some of you, say, Charlie, I don't need to listen to a bunch of people swearing or look at scenes of Strippers to get that lesson. [00:23:41] That's fine. [00:23:42] I totally get it. [00:23:43] However, All of that aside, and you kind of all of that put kind of in its own category on its own shelving. [00:23:52] I think it's one of the most compelling pieces of drama and art that really challenge the viewer to be like, Hey, you better be very careful because you all of a sudden might be end up in a place that you might not recognize or realize. [00:24:04] So, anyway, all that aside, I think you have to, um, I think you have to have your own standards, you have to understand what is the intent of consuming that art. === Arming Teachers Debate (04:44) === [00:24:11] I won't defend it. [00:24:12] I got another really angry email about Ozark from a listener. [00:24:15] I totally get it. [00:24:16] I'm not going to defend the content, I'll say, but I will kind of challenge you to say that finding things that are telling stories that might improve your own character or challenge you or written creatively, I think is something that, done in the proper context, can be helpful. [00:24:32] And look, you're fooling yourself if you are saying you could totally shield yourself from every swear word or every piece of nonsense in the world. [00:24:40] With that being said, you shouldn't have the intent, the heart to try to overexpose yourself in those things, find enjoyment in them instead, see if there's a bigger picture you could take away from there. [00:24:49] Beautiful question. [00:24:49] Thank you. [00:24:50] Spent a little more time on that than I would have expected, but thank you for that question. [00:24:53] Okay. [00:24:54] Hello, my name is Hannah Jones, and I'm 13 years old. [00:24:57] I'm in ninth grade. [00:24:57] And as a homeschooler, I have a question, okay to air, by the way. [00:25:00] Do you believe President Biden should be impeached or criminally charged? [00:25:03] If so, with what? [00:25:04] How should vaccines in Afghanistan have been handled? [00:25:06] I'm not going to talk about the vaccine in Afghanistan stuff. [00:25:09] We talked a lot about early treatments and all that. [00:25:10] I will say this, though. [00:25:12] I don't think we should try to impeach Joe Biden. [00:25:13] I think that's largely a waste of time. [00:25:15] We should try to impeach his cabinet. [00:25:17] I think that is the best use of time. [00:25:18] I think we should impeach Merrick Garland and impeach that guy that runs the Department of Education for a breach of duty and pushing back against basically what they were sworn to protect and preserve. [00:25:29] I think that's a much better use of time. [00:25:32] And thank you, Hannah, for your question. [00:25:33] I deeply appreciate that. [00:25:35] Okay. [00:25:36] Let's go here to this question. [00:25:40] Cindy from Sun City, Arizona. [00:25:42] It appears Congress wants to take away an 18-year-old's right to own a gun or rifle. [00:25:46] Should they also take away their right to vote? [00:25:48] Just thinking, evidently, they don't trust an 18-year-old anymore. [00:25:51] And why would that be? [00:25:52] Now, I do support 18-year-olds' right to vote. [00:25:54] However, let's just be very clear: if 18-year-old, if the voting age was raised to 21, Republicans would win a lot more elections. [00:26:01] I don't support it. [00:26:02] I actually think 18-year-olds should be able to vote because I think these all look, and so this is a very interesting argument. [00:26:07] And I don't quite know how I feel about it, but to be philosophically consistent, it's difficult, which I do think that it's interesting, which is the drinking age, right? [00:26:18] So, you can serve in the military, you could buy a firearm, you could vote. [00:26:22] So, basically, and also the other reason around 18, just so we're very clear, and some people say it's arbitrary, but you have to pick a date, you have to pick a time. [00:26:30] You become an adult when you're 18. [00:26:32] When you are 18, you can no longer be charged as a minor. [00:26:35] Juvenile courts end you become an adult. [00:26:39] From my very basic understanding of the law, when you're 18, you can emancipate yourself from your parents. [00:26:45] You are no longer under guardianship or parental control when you become 18. [00:26:53] And so, with all that being said, if we want to now define what an adult is and go to 21, then you have to also change voting alongside of it, which they're not going to do. [00:27:02] You have to change firearm around, and then you also have to change military service. [00:27:08] And that's not going to happen because the steady flow of recruitment into the United States military are largely 18-year-olds predominantly that want to kind of break out of their family or their community and want to do something right in their 18. [00:27:20] Like they're 18, they feel like they want to get their life back on track in the military, and they want to serve their country. [00:27:25] Obviously, it's not negative in any way, but that I think would heavily impact military recruitment if all of a sudden you said you're 20, you're not, you can only serve when you're 21. [00:27:35] So the question is, if you think you're, if you are willing to send somebody to Ukraine or Iraq or Afghanistan to defend your freedoms, shouldn't they also be able to own a gun here domestically and to vote? [00:27:45] The question is, when does someone become an adult? [00:27:47] If we want to broaden that and we say, hey, if someone does not become an adult till they're 25, then you must fix all the other correlated issues alongside of it. [00:27:54] You cannot have those kind of inherent contradictions. [00:27:58] Okay, let's go to this one here. [00:28:01] Hi, Charlie. [00:28:02] Did you know that federally funded TSA has a gun safety carry-on, gun safety carry-on plane program that major airline pilots can sign up for and then conceal carry onto their flights? [00:28:12] Yep. [00:28:12] Any pilot, preferably former military, they must prefer former military, can sign up and get training necessary to carry and thus further protected their passengers. [00:28:21] Interesting that teachers aren't offered the same opportunity by the same governments. [00:28:25] Am I right? [00:28:26] That's such a good point. [00:28:26] And yes, I did know that. [00:28:28] Now, I got a very, very smart email, though. [00:28:31] I got to tell you, we have the best listeners. [00:28:33] I love you guys. [00:28:35] He said, Charlie, I got to ask you a question. [00:28:38] Why would we want to arm the teachers that I keep on seeing on Libs of TikTok? [00:28:44] It's such a good point. [00:28:46] It's such a beautiful point, which is all of these left-wing teachers that we bash on this program, the kind of trans people, like, I don't know if you should have a firearm in your class. === Supporting Good Ranchers (08:02) === [00:28:56] I don't think that's a good idea. [00:28:58] Which is, so I'm a little bit increasingly mixed on it. [00:29:02] And so, yeah, I mean, that's not a slight against it. [00:29:07] But I think if you got to arm a teacher, you got to go through training. [00:29:10] You got to go through rigor. [00:29:11] You got to go through a fair amount of, let's just say, immersion into what a firearm is and how to use it. [00:29:22] So there's some teachers. [00:29:23] I don't teach them teaching. [00:29:25] I don't know. [00:29:27] So that's a very smart point. [00:29:28] He said, Charlie, I'm a little torn. [00:29:29] He said, based on everything you've been telling me about teachers, I don't think I want them to have a nine millimeter in their drawer. [00:29:35] It's something to think about. [00:29:39] Hey, everybody, Charlie Kirk here. [00:29:41] I want to tell you about Good Ranchers. [00:31:48] I hear so many people talking about DeSantis, but I still think Trump is who I trust to lead conservatives. [00:31:52] We took the poll, Trump versus DeSantis, here, and Trump did win. [00:31:55] I would say he won probably 60% of the vote. [00:31:57] We tapped, we did a, I mean, it was thousands and thousands and thousands, so we did a little bit of a spot test, and it was uh, it was Trump, 60%. [00:32:05] And so, what is one of the arguments that I think we have to talk about, though, is you know, Paul Ryan is out here admonishing people. [00:32:15] This is so, this is so hard. [00:32:16] I'll be very honest, this is very tough, tough for me. [00:32:19] I feel like it's just the different lives I've lived. [00:32:21] Paul Ryan tears into fellow Republicans who didn't have the guts to impeach Trump. [00:32:25] I used to be the biggest Paul Ryan fan, I was like the nerd-out Paul Ryan fan. [00:32:32] I thought he was the guy. [00:32:34] It's like that scene in Star Wars where Obi-Wan Kenobi is screaming at Anakin, You were the chosen. [00:32:45] And he says, His hair is a mess and he's sweating. [00:32:47] He's on the volcano, right? [00:32:50] And Anakin's arms and legs have just been cut off. [00:32:53] And he's like, You were supposed to be the one. [00:32:57] Cut 100, Paul Ryan, play tape. [00:33:01] Hey, this is Paul Ryan. [00:33:02] I am here in Florence, South Carolina, campaigning for my good friend Tom Rice, a man who deserves re-election. [00:33:09] Look, there are two kinds of people in Congress: workhorses and show horses, entertainers, policymakers. [00:33:15] Tom Rice is a workhorse. [00:33:17] He's a policymaker. [00:33:18] He's a person who is in a very good spot to make a big difference for South Carolinians. [00:33:22] He's a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee. [00:33:24] He's going to have a huge impact when we get the majority. [00:33:27] So I just encourage everybody to support a hardworking, principled conservative, Tom Rice, the man that I know in Congress who thinks every day, what can I do to solve my constituents' problems? [00:33:39] That's who Tom Rice is. [00:33:40] That's why he deserves your support in reelection. [00:33:43] First of all, I mean, I don't know if something's wrong. [00:33:46] Paul Ryan looks like hell. [00:33:47] He does not look good. [00:33:48] I mean, does not, I mean, I don't know what's going on with that. [00:33:51] But secondly, I used to love the man. [00:33:54] And I was a huge Paul Ryan fan. [00:33:56] And I still, I hear his voice, and I actually can feel almost the kind of neuroplasticity in my brain because I was programmed to like him so much. [00:34:06] Like, yes, we're going to outwonk the left. [00:34:09] We're going to outthink them. [00:34:12] We are going to kind of have better policy. [00:34:17] What was Paul Ryan like? [00:34:18] Play the Anakin clip. [00:34:22] You were the chosen one. [00:34:26] It was said that you would destroy this and not join them. [00:34:31] Bring balance to the falls. [00:34:33] Not leave it in darkness. [00:34:37] That was Paul Ryan. [00:34:38] He was the chosen one. [00:34:41] What is the positive of Trump? [00:34:43] We don't have to deal with any of these guys in term two. [00:34:45] We know them all. [00:34:46] They've all revealed themselves. [00:34:48] Paul Ryan is campaigning, by the way, in that clip for Tom Rice, who tried to impeach Donald Trump, who called Trump a tyrant. [00:34:56] What is the positive of the second term Trump? [00:34:58] We know who's with Trump. [00:34:59] The people are now in charge. [00:35:01] And the other point that I want to make clear: we have infrastructure now. [00:35:05] There's legitimate infrastructure around the America First Movement. [00:35:09] There's real allies that are going to be going to Congress, like JD Vance. [00:35:14] There's real organizations that are now positioned around these policies that are very popular. [00:35:18] When Donald Trump came in 2016, there was no infrastructure from donors to think tanks to Tucker Carlson was not even on the air. [00:35:28] I want you to think about that. [00:35:29] Tucker Carlson did not have his program when Donald Trump won in 2016. [00:35:34] It was the O'Reilly factor. [00:35:35] I love Bill O'Reilly, but it's a separate philosophical approach to politics where Tucker Carlson is now the spokesperson and the leader on it. [00:35:42] So, what exists now is real infrastructure, a real way to hold people accountable. [00:35:47] And there is no constituency for Paul Ryan. [00:35:50] There is not a constituency for Mitt Romney, who, of course, they ran together. [00:35:54] And yeah, I was a huge fan of his. [00:35:55] I loved his kind of wonkiness. [00:35:57] I was so naive to believe we could take back America through major policy debates on the equilibrium of trade policy and Medicare and Social Security. [00:36:08] All that is important.
