On the 15th of April 2019, CNN published an amateurish opinion piece entitled Nancy Pelosi Just Won't Stop Trolling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, in which Chris Silizza, CNN editor-at-large, observes a pattern of dismissive behavior from Pelosi towards the congressional freshman and her squad.
Pelosi was understandably dismissive of the new revolutionary wing of the Democratic Party and said, it's like five people.
Four people, actually, with millions of social media followers.
What Alexandro Eucasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayana Presley, and Rashida Talib represent is an ascendant radical left-wing movement within the Democratic Party, unashamedly socialist and globalist identity politicians.
In previous eras, these would have been absurd fringe beliefs, but they are now mainstream, and by comparison, they make Bernie Sanders, the man who birthed and wetnessed their movement, look like a quivering moderate.
As Ayana Presley put it, if you are a minority who is not using the collectivist language of identity politics, then you are part of the problem.
And that problem is the United States of America.
Yes, I do quote Shirley Chisholm a lot, who said if they don't give you a seat at the table, bring your own folding chair.
But I've amended that because I don't want to bring a chair to an old table.
This is the time to shake the table.
This is the time to redefine that table.
Because if you're going to come to this table, and for all of you that have aspirations of running for office, for whatever lived experience and identity that you represent, if you are not prepared to come to that table and to represent that voice, don't come.
Because we don't need any more brown faces that don't want to be a brown voice.
We don't need black faces that don't want to be a black voice.
We don't need Muslims that don't want to be a Muslim voice.
We don't need queers that don't want to be a queer voice.
And if you're worried about being marginalized and stereotyped, please don't even show up.
They don't want a seat at the table.
They want to redefine the table.
They desire to sweep away the old order and impose a new era of equality.
The squad represents a recent and dramatic leftward shift in the Democratic Party.
As evidenced by Pew polling data, this shift is a recent phenomenon, as the 2004 Democratic Party looked very much like the party in 1994.
However, by 2017, the party had lurched dramatically towards its extremity, and many of the points of common cause between the Democrats and Republicans have been abandoned.
The evidence of this is clear to see in the statements and actions of previous Democrat presidents, and the subject which provides most clarity in this regards is illegal immigration.
In 2014, then Democratic President Barack Obama believed that poverty or crime were not qualifiers for asylum and that employers should not hire illegal immigrants.
Obama was so firm on this position that he deported more illegal immigrants than any other president that came before him.
Strengthen our borders.
It would level the playing field by holding employers accountable if they knowingly hire undocumented workers.
It would modernize our legal immigration system so that we eliminate the backlog of family visas and make it easier to attract highly skilled entrepreneurs from beyond our borders.
It would make sure that everybody plays by the same rules by providing a pathway to earn citizenship for those who are living in the shadows.
A path that includes passing a background check and learning English and paying taxes and a penalty and getting in line behind it, everyone trying to come here the right way.
Bill Clinton also took a firm position on illegal immigration to the United States in the 1990s, demanding a secure southern border complete with fence.
All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.
That's why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more, by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens.
In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workface, as recommended by the Commission headed by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan.
We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws.
It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.
The Squad has entered the Democratic Party like a whirlwind and redefined its moral landscape within only a few short years.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez believes that Trump's fascist ideology makes him support borders.
She makes no distinction between an American citizen and an illegal alien, believes that illegal aliens should not be targeted by ICE or deported by the state, actively warns illegal aliens that ICE raids would occur, and claims that detention centers used to house and process illegal border crossings are the moral equivalent of the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, even evoking the phrase, never again.
The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border.
That never again means something.
Ilhan Omar has co-sponsored legislation to ban federal agencies from using the term illegal aliens, claiming that no one is an alien and that it is un-American to criminalize anyone that enters the U.S. illegally.
Her complaint stems from a belief that this is dehumanizing language while, ironically, actually dehumanizing President Trump.
Yeah, that is silly to even think and equate the two.
One is human, the other is...
Is it true that you just...
Ayanna Pressley, along with the rest of the squad, rejected further funding for the detention centres in order to improve conditions, and described Immigrations and Customs Enforcement as abusive.
When confronted with non-white protesters who were concerned that the abolition of ICE meant the abolition of their jobs, she dismissed them as mere cogs in the machine that perpetuates oppression.
Rashida Talib describes herself as a democratic socialist who also believes that ICE should be defunded and that the detention centers for processing illegal aliens are concentration camps and wishes us not to use the term illegal when describing people who have crossed the border illegally, as she also considers it a derogatory term that dehumanizes them.
She was also paid $85,000 by George Soros' leadership in government fellowship that she failed to disclose.
The squad all have a regimented set of radical left-wing beliefs to which they all adhere and upon which they support one another.
They are pro-mass immigration, anti-border control, pro-democratic socialism, and denounce the allegedly endemic evils of racism, sexism and xenophobia that have apparently always plagued the United States and do to this day.
Nancy Pelosi is not a radical left-winger.
In 2007, she was described by the LA Times as an extreme moderate with a flamboyant side but an eye to pragmatism who governs from the center.
It is only natural that, seeing the rushing upswell of radical leftists elected to seats in the Congress, that she should seek to stem the flow and mold them into something approaching an orderly rank in order to get business done.
This is the root of the rift between Pelosi and the squad, which manifested itself from the squad's opposition to the $4.6 billion bill to provide improved conditions to the border detention centers.
Pelosi supported the bill. in order to aid the detainees as swiftly as possible, while the squad opposed the bill on the principle that border controls are immoral and that it would further strengthen ICE.
In a statement, the squad said that they could not, in good conscience, approve more money for a fundamentally cruel and broken immigration system.
The squad drummed up support from radical left-wing publications like the Huffington Post and their army of Twitter activists against Pelosi.
According to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the bill was completely irresponsible to the American people and to those kids on the border.
Whereas Ilhan Omar said, a vote for Mitch McConnell's border bill is a vote to keep kids in cages and terrorize immigrant communities.
Pelosi responded to this in an interview with the New York Times on the 6th of July 2019 entitled, It's Nancy Pelosi's Parade, in which she said, all these people have their public whatever in their Twitter world, but they don't have any following.
They're four people, and that's how many votes they got.
The New York Times described the situation in the Democratic Party as many Democrats seeing Pelosi as the thin blue line standing between them and a lawless Trump.
After being put in their place by the Speaker of the House, the squad's loudest member hit back with a sly allegation of racism.
The persistent singling out, it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful, the explicit singling out of newly elected women of colour.
It's really just pointing out the pattern, right?
We're not talking about just progressives.
It's signaling out four individuals and knowing the media environment that we're operating in, knowing the amount of death threats that we get, knowing the amount of concentration detention.
I think it's just worth asking why.
However, when asked directly if she believed that Pelosi was a racist, she said, no, no, absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
There was an impending civil war brewing within the Democratic Party between the publicly sidelined though institutionally strong moderates and the publicity-hungry radicals, and despite their social media popularity, the radicals were sure to lose.
It was this that Donald Trump was addressing when he took to Twitter on the 14th of July 2019 in a series of three tweets that reset the debate and drove the left wing of politics into a complete meltdown.
So interesting to see progressive Democrat congresswomen who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt, and inept anywhere in the world, if they even have a functioning government at all, now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful nation on earth, how our government is to be run.
Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came?
Then come back and show us how it's done.
These places need your help badly.
You can't live fast enough.
I'm sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to work out free travel arrangements.
As Donald Trump succinctly summarized it later, these are people who hate our country.
A charitable reading of this statement would infer that Donald Trump was attacking the competency of the freshman squad, how they criticize the United States along lines that would not hold up in their ancestral countries of origin, nor do they hold those countries to such high standards.
While Trump might have said, go back where you came from, he did also say, come back and show us how it's done.
Once they had fixed the problems in their self-identified countries of origin.
However, this part of the statement was duly omitted in the resultant hurricane of coverage that ensued.
It is difficult to describe the incandescent fury that erupted from the left wing of politics over these tweets.
The tweets, in their view, were, of course, racist.
And now, after more than three years of publicly declaring Trump to be a racist, they would once again declare Trump to be a racist.
In fact, the president is racist, and anyone who still supports him is also a racist.
If you're supporting Trump, you are a racist at this point.
I'm not afraid to say it, and no one should be.
Pundits started extrapolating that Trump apparently believes this is a white man's country.
The House passed a resolution declaring Trump's tweets to be racist.
Late-night left-wing comedians rejoiced at the red meat which they could throw to their audience.
And then the left began an impassioned witch hunt to single out anyone who had not yet declared Trump's tweets to be racist.
Presidential hopeful Kamala Harris even told Donald Trump to go back where he came from in a stunning display of apoplectic hypocrisy as left-wing politicians competed to one-up each other's public outrage.
The desperation to ensure each and every public figure condemned these tweets as racist even drove CNN to give airtime to prominent white nationalist Richard Spencer as an expert on whether these tweets were or were not racist.
Many white nationalists will eat up this red meat that Donald Trump is throwing out there.
I am not one of them.
I recognize the con game that is going on.
They say Trump is all talk and no action on maintaining white dominance in America.
He gives us nothing outside of racist tweets.
And by racist tweets, I mean tweets that are meaningless and cheap and express the kind of sentiments you might hear from your drunk uncle while he's watching Hannity.
Which caused his name to trend on Twitter as left-wing activists poured new outrage on the fire directed at CNN for platforming such a person.
And then Donald Trump doubled down.
So sad to see the Democrats sticking up for people who speak so badly of our country and who, in addition, hate Israel with a true and unbridled passion.
Whenever confronted, they call their adversaries, including Nancy Pelosi, racist.
Their disgusting language and the many terrible things they say about the United States must not be allowed to go unchallenged.
If the Democratic Party wants to continue to condone such disgraceful behavior, then we look even more forward to seeing you at the ballot box in 2020.
But doubling down on his tweets was not enough, not for Donald J. Trump.
He demanded an apology from the squad.
When will the radical left congresswomen apologize to our country, the people of Israel, and even to the office of the president for the foul language they have used and the terrible things they have said?
So many people are angry at them and their horrible and disgusting actions.
Prominent members of the Republican Party understood the line of attack the president had taken and fell into line, refusing to condemn Trump's tweets.
Kevin McCarthy, the GOP minority leader from California, said, Let's not be false about what is happening here today.
This is all about politics and beliefs of ideologies.
Nancy Pelosi was forced to back the squad, calling Trump's tweets xenophobic and bringing the squad back into the fold, even if they continued to call her out online.
The Democratic Party rallied around these fringe outliers as the squad became the face of left-wing American politics.
During a press conference in response to Trump's tweets, Alyssa Presley expressly stated that they would not take the bait, before then spending 20 minutes taking the bait as they reiterated their moral claims.
Right now, the president is carrying out mass deportation raids across this country in each one of our districts.
Right now, the president is committing human rights abuses at the border, keeping children in cages, and having human beings drinking out of toilets.
On the 17th of July 2019, Trump held a packed-out campaign rally in North Carolina, where he criticized Ilhan Omar's political opinions.
During this, the crowd began chanting, send her back.
When asked whether she supported al-Qaeda, that's our enemy.
That's our enemy.
They are a very serious problem that we take care of, but they always seem to come along somewhere.
She refused to answer.
She didn't want to give an answer to that question.
Omar blamed the United States for the crisis in Venezuela.
I mean, think of that one.
And she looks down with contempt on the hard-working Americans, saying that ignorance is pervasive in many parts of this country.
And obviously and importantly, Omar has a history of launching vicious anti-Semitic screeds.
Trump disavowed the send her back chance.
After all, that isn't what he had tweeted.
Despite the popular misreading of his tweets by the media and Democrats, he did not say that she should be sent home.
I was not happy with it.
I disagree with it.
It was quite a chant, and I felt a little bit badly about it, he told reporters.
Was Trump's intervention in the upcoming Democratic Civil War a success?
By the metrics we have available, yes, it appears so.
The squad has poor approval ratings, according to a recent YouGov poll for The Economist.
Ayana Presley has the best rating at plus four.
Rashida Talib has minus seven.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has minus eight, and Ilhan Omar has minus nine overall favorability rating.
The two brightest stars in the squad have the lowest approval ratings of them all.
In fact, their approval ratings are so low that they are less popular than ICE, which has a net approval rating of zero.
The media storm did not appear to faze Trump's supporters, as his approval rating within the Republican Party jumped five points, and his overall approval rating rose to nearly 50%.
CNN organized a focus group of women who all said that they would vote for Trump again and accurately identified that Trump was not addressing any racial group, but specifically targeting the squad for what the focus group also perceived to be the squad's anti-American worldview.
He was saying that if they hate America so much because what we're seeing out of them and hearing out of them, they hate America.
If it's so bad, there's a lot of places they can go.
The allegations of anti-Americanism also seemed to hit the mark, at least with Ilhan Omar, who had previously addressed the issue on a panel shortly before Trump's tweets, where she admitted that this was a long-running criticism of her because she had alleged America was a hypocritical nation for failing to live up to the lofty standards to which it aims.
There is something that I get criticized for all the time.
It's not what you think, so don't like don't gasp.
It is that I am anti-American because I criticize the United States.
And I believe as an immigrant, I probably love this country more than anyone that is naturally born.
After Trump's attack on her perceived lack of patriotism, Ilhan Omar published a video with Now This, in which she attempted to redefine patriotism to mean being able to criticize the president.
But Omar's video missed the point.
People were not complaining about her critiques of Donald Trump.
They were complaining that her politics seems to be anti-American and anti-Israel in general.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued campaigning, appearing at a Democracy Summer rally in which she proselytized political organizing as hope kinetic and invoked a desire for action because she believes that she is the heir to the civil rights movement.
her speech was couched in the framework of a critique of the failure of the united states america is the hope and the despair america is the tension between our future and our past but i will always believe that when we make hope kinetic the good will win
Always believe that.
Some pundits realized that perhaps the media had leapt before it had looked, and that the constant allegations of racism as the greatest evil possibly weren't what was on the minds of most voters.
As the New York Times posted in an op-ed, Dear Democrats, this is not complicated.
Just nominate a decent, sane person, one committed to reunifying the country and creating more good jobs, a person who can gain the support of the independents, moderate Republicans, and suburban women who have abandoned Donald Trump in the midterms and thus swing the House of Representatives to the Democrats and could do the same for the presidency.
And that candidate can win.
But please spare me the revolution.
It can wait.
Win the presidency, hold the House and narrow the spread in the Senate, and a lot of good things can still be accomplished.
No, you say, the left wants a revolution now.
Okay, I'll give the left a revolution now.
Four more years of Donald Trump.
But was all of this 4D chess in order to get the media and Democratic establishment to rally around their most radical elements?
Well, yes, according to Donald Trump, who tweeted, the Dems are trying to distance themselves from the four progressives, but they are now forced to embrace them.
That means they are endorsing socialism, hate of Israel and the USA.
Not good for the Democrats.
Nancy Pelosi tried to push them away, but now they are forever wedded to the Democratic Party.
See you in 2020.
It appears that Trump saw an opportunity to make the squad the face of the Democratic Party's politics in advance of the 2020 elections, and he appears to have been successful.
The squad are more popular than ever with their supporters, even if not with the public at large, and occupy the lion's share of the political news cycle.
The last thing to examine is the question, is the border a Nazi-style concentration camp?
The answer is, obviously not.
Not only were the detention centers set up under the Obama administration, the detention centers that were overcrowded were the justification for the 4.6 billion funding bill, and those new centers that have been built under Trump appear to be, as radical left-wing paper The Guardian put it, clean and bright.
The squad's claim that women are forced to drink from the toilet seems mildly ridiculous once it is revealed that each block is equipped with a single unit that contains both the toilet and a separate sink that provides clean drinking water.
Despite widespread media coverage of individual incidents of deaths at the border, overall deaths are down under the Trump administration as compared to under previous administrations where no great outrage was generated.
And the necessity of border security is morally required because the alternative is to have no control over what happens at the border.
Terror gang MS-13's ability to enter the United States freely is the easiest example of why border security is required.
As on the 18th of July 2019, MS-13 gang members murdered and butchered a teenage boy after luring him to a remote location using a girl as a honeypot.
Dozens of these gang members have been arrested in Los Angeles with the overwhelming majority being illegal aliens.
The complaints of children being separated from their families are also hollow, as child trafficking across the border is a significant problem.
As the immigrants who do not come legally do not have the required identification, it is not known whether the children who accompany the adults are in fact related to them.
DNA tests show that 30% of the families detained at the border contain children that are not related to the adults with whom they have been traveling.
It would be utterly irresponsible to allow these apparent child traffickers to cross the border without being intercepted.
The Democrats' appeal to ethnic solidarity in regards to the illegal aliens also appears to be one that holds no water, as most legal Mexican immigrants to the United States want anyone who has crossed the border illegally to be deported, with only 7% saying that they think the migrants should be allowed to stay.
And finally, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that illegal aliens have done nothing illegal was firmly rebuked by former ICE director Tom Homan.
Zero tolerance was interpreted as the policy that separated children from their parents.
If I get arrested for DUI and I have a young child in a car, I'm going to be separated.
When I was a police officer in New York and I arrested a father for domestic violence, I separated that.
Mr. Homan, with all due respect, legal asylums are not charged with any crime.
When you're in the country illegally, it's a violation 8 United States Code 1325.
Seeking asylum is legal.
If you want to seek a sign and go to the port of entry, do it the legal way." The Squad seemed to have very little legitimacy to their claims regarding border abuse.
It appears that their rhetoric in this regard is a deliberate distortion of the truth in order to fulfill an ideological agenda.
The left-wing media and Democratic establishment have failed to address this and are often complicit in the attempt to erase the United States border while actively encouraging immigrants to undertake a highly dangerous journey where this journey is not being organized outright by left-wing activist organizations.
The result of this is a weakened border, overflowing detention centers, increased child trafficking, increased gang activity, and a staggering 8 out of 10 women who undertake the journey being raped by their traffickers, with the net result of raising the political profile of the activists who are encouraging such activities.
This is a particularly self-centered and irresponsible position for the left wing to take and should be repudiated by any Democrats who still have an ounce of sense.
It is important to note that the increase in intensity of rhetoric on both sides, with the squad painting the United States as akin to Nazi Germany, and Donald Trump painting the squad as anti-American, has consequences.
Recently, a self-professed member of Antifar was shot and killed in a terrorist attack on an ICE border detention facility, and a Trump supporter was arrested for sending death threats to Ilhan Omar.
This is a clear result of the heightened tensions on both sides, with neither accepting the legitimacy of the other.
For democracy to continue in the United States, both sides must denounce the terroristic fringes of their own movements and make some attempt to sit down and discuss their differences.
Hi folks, sorry I have to do a bit of shilling at the end, but since YouTube have demonetized my channel, I have to do so.
