| So I am back into my YouTube channel. | |
| I'd just like to thank everyone for their kind support and let you know what I think has happened, but I don't know whether this is the case so this may be subject to change. | |
| I think that in a rather draconian fashion YouTube are applying a rule to my account from an event that happened over a year ago regarding Destiny levelling copyright strikes, four of them at once, on my then secondary channel called The New Meme Dia. | |
| These were clips from a live stream with him and Jontron and I had commented on them in the description and the title of the video, but he copyright strike them anyway and it became a political slap fight and I decided to let him have it because honestly I didn't need the channel. | |
| But at the time I had no notification that this was going to affect my Google account and it didn't. | |
| And I would appeal the strikes if I could get back into my YouTube account. | |
| And there is actually a contact form that you can do it outside of the YouTube account except you need a link to the videos themselves which I can't get because I can't get back into the channel. | |
| I have no idea why they've chosen now to do it, just like I've no idea why they've chosen to flag all of the other channels with various community strikes for things that have happened up to two years ago, in the case of Andy Worski, who has a strike for one of his Francesca Ramsey videos, which is a very long time ago. | |
| I don't want to point any fingers, but the timing of this coming during the YouTube purge, in which dozens of right-wing and often gun-focused channels were just outright banned, or channels talking about conspiracy theories whether for or against being outright banned, such as in the case of Bombard's Body Language, where she didn't believe that David Hogg was part of a conspiracy. | |
| I don't know, but it certainly seemed that way at first blush. | |
| But as I said, I don't actually know what the result of all of this is going to be, because this is just a working theory. | |
| So I don't know whether my channel's going to disappear or not, but for the time being, it is still operational, and I will have a video tomorrow. | |
