Hello everyone, welcome to this week in Stupid for the 30th of April 2017.
I swear we are plumbing new depths of raw stupidity.
I just cannot believe how far they will go, and I don't think there's an end in sight.
I honestly don't think we are ever going to reach the bottom of regressive stupidity, and the fucking bubble these people live in protects them from any kinds of consequences other than rampant mockery all over the internet.
Take for example Exhibit A, Emma Roller, a stock Twitter-verified lefty journal with Fusion, where she is the senior reporter.
This is the quality of reporting you will find on Fusion.
Just two people doing a white power hand gesture in the White House.
Now I'm just going to be honest, I am no expert on white power hand gestures, so it's a good thing Emma provided us with a follow-up link.
See, the thumb and the forefinger make the loop of the P, and the three finger sticking up are a W.
And you can tell this is true because she's giving you a link for reference to the Anti-Defamation League.
However, if you click that link, you find that this picture is not present on that page.
This very blurry picture on that page requires two hands to do.
I don't know where she got her picture from, but I think the one thing we can all agree is that Emma Roller is fake news.
And it doesn't matter that the alt-right are vigorously denying it has anything to do with white power.

That's just them trying to cover up their racism.
I mean, don't worry about the fact that this is a well-established emoji on, and I mean literally, every single social network on Earth.
That's just white supremacist infiltration.
And nobody knows just how far this conspiracy spreads, because there are white supremacists literally everywhere.

But the worst part is just how many black people have internalized white supremacy, especially sports personalities.
And this conspiracy reaches to the very upper echelons of the government.

And that's because they are in fact far more internet savvy than most of the legacy media.
And they have fully bought into the Donald Trump is playing 4D chess narrative.
And to be honest with you, there's evidence to support it.
They say, Hope Hicks walked into the Oval Office last month with a message for the president.
Some staff members wanted to go to the White House correspondence dinner.
Trump molded over and polled the room.
The advice he received, it was probably a bad idea.
Attendance might suggest a disunited front from the administration, plus the comedian was going to be rude to him anyway.
I agree, Trump said.
Let's not have anybody go.
And if he just left it there, then there would be nothing further to talk about.
The White House correspondence dinner would go on and be as tone deaf as one might expect, but that would be the end of it.
However, what Trump instead decided to do was schedule an arena rally on the same day, so at the same time he could rail at the fake news media from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.
Not really a black tie dinner event.
Trump will skip the dinner because the White House Correspondence Bash has become more of an elitist party to trash Republican presidents, said longtime confident Roger Stone.
Believe me, there will be nobody wearing a tuxedo or black tie at the Trump event.
Of course there won't, because this will be a definitive statement about class interests.
The left-wing coastal liberals will be insufferably pretentious and condescending to Donald Trump and his supporters, where Donald Trump will continue to build his ties with his base.
But it also gives him a propaganda coup against the media itself.
Publicly, the administration says the rally falls on the 100th day of his presidency, so I respectfully suggest that it's not just about the correspondence dinner, rather an opportunity for him to talk to voters that elected him and what he's been able to accomplish in the first hundred days, said Spicer from Air Force One.
And a White House official noted the optics and said that the American people prefer to see Trump out on the road in their cities.
They didn't vote for a president to go and sit at a dinner in a tux, the official said.
They voted for someone to go and work on their behalf, and that's what Trump is doing, or at least he makes a good show of it whether you want to argue the toss about that statement or not.
Either way, it just looks bad, and BuzzFeed can see it.
Trump's decision to skip the dinner and hold a rally poses a tricky situation with TV networks, which have taken to covering portions of the fate in recent years, typically the remarks from the president and the headlining comedian.
Network executives are aware of what could happen.
The president appearing as a man of the people, while journalists and celebrities and tuxedos roast him in absentia, self-righteously toasting to a free press and making very bad fake news jokes.
Covering the two events side by side could be a self-own of the highest order.
Not could be, will be.
And it will come as no surprise to you that that's precisely what they did.

But to the people that Trump is representing, it's not.

They don't make six figures a year.

Well, this statement following counter-terrorism operations in London from the Met should probably give you an indication of what real people worry about.
So this statement was given by the Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, Senior National Coordinator for Counterterrorism Policing outside Scotland Yard on Friday.
Concerning counter-terrorism operations.
In Whitehall, a 27-year-old man was arrested by armed officers from the Met's Specialist Firearms Command, who stopped and searched him as part of an ongoing counter-terrorism organization.
He remains in custody, having been arrested for terrorism act offences and possession of offensive weapons, and there are two ongoing searches at his addresses in London that's part of that investigation.
A second and unrelated investigation on the same day, just before 1900 hours, our highly trained firearms officers carried out a specialist entry into an address in Harlsden Road that we had under observation as part of a current counter-terrorism investigation.
An armed entry was necessary due to the nature of the intelligence that we were dealing with and involved armed officers firing CS into the address.
Two terror plots in one day.
And they say activity continues around the clock to identify and stop these threats and we are making arrests on a near daily basis.
They are arresting potential jihadis every fucking day because they are planning to murder British citizens in the name of Islam.
Honestly, ask yourself, if this was any other political ideology, would this be banned?
Would this, if this was neo-Nazis, every day they were planning terror attacks, and two in one day, every day a neo-Nazi was being arrested for planning to murder fellow citizens in the country, would there not be an outlawing of Nazism?
If it was communists, would there not be an outlawing of communism?

All women can wear a headscarf.
If this real and rampant Islamophobia continues, there will come a day where we must ask all women to wear a headscarf, all out of solidarity for those who do it for religious reasons.

Islamic codes of behaviour and dress are strictly enforced.
In any public place, women must cover their heads with a headscarf.
Wear trousers or floor-length skirt, a long-sleeved tunic or coat that reaches to mid-thigh or the knee.
Men should wear long trousers and long sleeve shirts.
They don't have a choice, which is why so many Iranians have come to hate the hijab.
They see it as an instrument of oppression because it is.
There are actually men in Iran who wear the hijab, which is a protest tactic that makes sense.
Saying to women, right, okay, some women are oppressed, so you know what's going to happen?

Voter apathy among the young has long been described as a worrying trend.
In the UK for example youth turnout rates at general elections fell by 28 percentage points from 66 percent in 1992 to 38 percent in 2005 but this declining electoral participation is not necessarily not necessarily evidence of political apathy.
Young people's willingness to protest suggests that they're all still participating in the political process, albeit in a less conventional way.
In a 2014 study young people from Britain, France and Germany were more engaged in direct forms of action.
Compared with older voters, young people were more likely to sign petitions and more than twice as likely to participate in a protest.
These people are still political.
They just don't think voting for a corporate candidate is productive because it's not.
The old paradigm is going to die.
Instead of trying to fight that and suppress all of the new movements coming out of the internet.
Because remember, these are young people.
A lot of them have never lived without the internet.
Hell, I can barely remember a time before it myself, and I didn't get a mobile phone until I was 19.
These people are coming up.
We need to stop demonizing alternate forms of media.
We need to start demonizing other platforms and we need to start conducting actual dialogue that speaks to the real concerns of people.
We need politicians to start dropping the bullshit.
This is why Donald Trump, Le Pen, Farage, they're all popular.
They're really fucking popular with large segments of young people.
It's not a coincidence.
They have not been represented.
Their interests are not being addressed.
And their problems, specifically stemming from the lack of representation of their interests, are not being addressed.
They will make it happen.
The longer this goes on, the more weak and rickety the structure gets.
We could avert a kind of political disaster that appears to be looming on the horizon, but we won't.
There will be just more arrogance, more ignorance, and more persistent whining about bigotry, as if bigotry is the biggest problem in the fucking world.
