Sargon of Akkad - Carl Benjamin - Sargon T-Shirt Competition Aired: 2017-04-04 Duration: 03:06 === T-Shirt Competition Call-Out (03:06) === [00:00:00] So it seems the war against YouTube and YouTubers is well underway and I am no exception. [00:00:05] Over the last week my ad revenue has flatlined just like everyone else's. [00:00:10] This means I have to diversify my income revenue streams or something, and I'm loath to simply shill my Patreon because I've never wantonly shilled my Patreon before and I don't intend to start now. [00:00:20] Instead I thought I might do similar to the arts competition I ran last year. [00:00:24] I've been asked many times to sell t-shirts, which I don't mind doing but I run into a snag. [00:00:29] I am a terrible t-shirt designer. [00:00:32] I've tried my hand at this before and failed miserably because I have zero artistic talent. [00:00:37] So that's when you come in. [00:00:39] For this competition I'll select the five best designs to be printed up as t-shirts for whoever wishes to buy one. [00:00:45] I'll select my top five favourites to be printed up as t-shirts and each entry picked in the top five will receive prize money with fifth place receiving $100, 4th place receiving $250, 3rd place receiving $500, 2nd place receiving $1000 and 1st place receiving $2,000. [00:01:04] The competition will begin today and last for 1 month, closing on the 4th of May 2017. [00:01:10] Please email all entries as PNG files of 1920 by 1080 resolution. [00:01:17] The design doesn't necessarily have to fill all of the space or anything like that, I just want standardised images that I can use for my own convenience really. [00:01:25] And I don't really mind if the background is transparent or not, but I think I would probably prefer transparent backgrounds. [00:01:32] But then if you have a good reason not to have a transparent background on it, then that's fine. [00:01:36] I don't want to restrict you, I just let you know my preferences on it. [00:01:40] The designs don't necessarily need to be traditional artistic pieces. [00:01:44] Feel free to innovate. [00:01:46] Do whatever you want really. [00:01:47] Whatever you think looks good. [00:01:49] I don't have any particular preferences here, so I'm interested to see what you come up with. [00:01:54] Please email all the competition entries to sargonovacad100 at gmail.com, and you may enter as many times as you please. [00:02:02] Please write t-shirt competition in the title of the email so I can find them easily. [00:02:07] I don't want to miss any entries. [00:02:09] By entering the competition, you are transferring ownership of your design to me and may not use it elsewhere. [00:02:15] Once the competition is over and I have chosen the winning designs, I'll do a video showcasing the designs I received along with the name and contact information of the artist who submitted it. [00:02:25] So ensure you clearly include how people can find you if they enjoy your work. [00:02:29] So even if you don't win, I'd really like to showcase your work anyway, get you some exposure. [00:02:34] I'll announce when the t-shirts will be on sale via a video, and I think that I'll probably have them as a limited run with only a handful of the top entries available. [00:02:43] I've had so many requests from artists who want to do t-shirts for me and from people who want to buy t-shirts of mine that I figure I may as well put everything together and given how Google are not exactly a reliable source of revenue anymore and I do this professionally, I have to start looking at other avenues. [00:03:01] So I figure this would be one that benefits everyone. [00:03:03] Anyway, thanks for watching and I'm looking forward to seeing your designs.
