Sargon of Akkad - Carl Benjamin - Update Aired: 2016-08-05 Duration: 03:56 === Working Harder Than Usual (03:47) === [00:00:00] Hello everyone, I thought I'd give you a quick update on what I'm doing, because I know I'm not producing as many videos as usual. [00:00:06] So the reason that the amount of work I've been producing has slowed down is because I've been working harder than usual. [00:00:12] Aside from other reading, I've been working on an analysis of a book called The Wrong Way Home by Arthur Diekman, who is a clinical psychologist who wrote the book in the 90s, and it's talking specifically about cults and cults' behavior. [00:00:28] And I think there's a lot of value in this book that we can deal with in the ongoing war against the SJWs and the regressive leftists. [00:00:36] And it's not just these people. [00:00:37] It's pretty much any ideologically focused internet community falls prey to these behaviors. [00:00:44] And I think it's really important to understand them. [00:00:46] So I've been working a lot on that, and it's taking up a lot of my time, so I'm not making just the sort of random off-the-cuff videos I used to. [00:00:54] But I do think this is important, so I'm going to soldier on. [00:00:58] So in the meantime, I'll take the opportunity to inform my new subscribers about the other channels that I run. [00:01:04] The first one is a live stream channel, because I was always getting copyright strikes back in the day. [00:01:11] I haven't had one for quite a while, so I could still live stream on this channel, but since I do all the live streaming on the other channel, it's just easier to do it there now. [00:01:21] At the moment, I'm currently running, like a total nerd, a Cyberpunk 2020 game. [00:01:27] I haven't DM'd anything in ages, but I'm really enjoying it. [00:01:30] And I think we'll be playing in later on tonight, and like I said, I'm a total nerd. [00:01:35] But I also have various interviews and conversations and whatnot with other people on there. [00:01:40] And generally, I try to get people... [00:01:42] I mean, I do like to have conversations with people I disagree with, because I like to understand where they're coming from. [00:01:48] So that's what that is. [00:01:49] I've also got sort of a gaming slash shitposting channel called Vevictus. [00:01:55] And I guess I must have been shitposting on it a bit too hard recently. [00:01:58] Because I got a community guideline strike, which I've never had before, for a video I did after the Nice attacks, because the media was really pissing me off. [00:02:08] And I'm not joking, they were framing these attacks often in the headline, truck attack kills 80, or something like that. [00:02:15] It's like, truck attack. [00:02:17] As if the truck is a fucking, like, lion on the Serengeti or something. [00:02:22] The truck was not a sentient being, and that's why the video was called Optimus Prime Converts to Islam, where I had posted a bunch of these, and there were loads of these headlines that made it sound like the truck had the agency in the situation. [00:02:35] And so I got a clip of Optimus Prime talking at someone, overlaid a voiceover by Andy Chowdhury, an Islamist preacher from Britain, and then a clip of Optimus Prime running into an explosion. [00:02:50] But apparently, this wasn't deemed sensitive enough and was removed. [00:02:54] And so I can't actually live stream on that channel anymore, which I used to sometimes live stream games or something like that. [00:03:00] But I mean, the Cyberpunk game would normally be on that channel, but I can't do it because I was too edgy. [00:03:06] And the third one is me reading historical texts called Ancient Recitations. [00:03:10] They're not all ancient, though, and people often say this. [00:03:13] It's like, well, I couldn't think of a better name. [00:03:15] But anything that I find interesting. [00:03:18] And I try to read really obscure things, things that you probably never heard of, or that wouldn't normally get the light of day. [00:03:27] Not only because I think it's interesting to publicize these things, but also because I like to read them myself, and it's hard to find a justification to go looking for really odd things, especially if you've got more important things to be doing. === Reading Audiobooks (00:23) === [00:03:42] And that helps me provide one. [00:03:43] And so yeah, I had a lot of people saying, oh, it'd be nice to hear you reading audiobooks. [00:03:47] So I thought, well, I guess I can do something along those lines. [00:03:52] So yeah, if any of that sounds interesting, I'll leave links in the description.
