| Maybe it'd help if I played a video clip or two of her. | |
| So, what you're really saying is that not that we're trying to silence you, but that we have the audacity to try and erode the platform that our racist and misogynistic society has given to two privileged white men. | |
| Anything yet? | |
| That is what we are guilty of doing. | |
| What you are saying is you personally have a right to that platform, which other people are not given. | |
| That you personally should maintain hegemony over that platform. | |
| What we are saying is move the hell over. | |
| Other people deserve that platform. | |
| Other people who are not white, who are not men, and who are not of the people that you call privileged. | |
| Move over. | |
| And in order to do that, you have to create a space where those people can actually enter into that discourse. | |
| The reason I ask is because by the time you're watching this video, I will be having a live hangout on my livestream channel with Miss Kate Brooks discussing this speech. | |
| And I think you might find it quite interesting. | |
| I don't think it's as cut and dried as it looks because I have been informed, although I cannot be certain of this, that she is playing Devil's Advocate here. | |
| And this may not be her position at all. | |
| Now, I won't know until I get into the conversation with her, so it could be that she was maybe just playing devil's advocate about whether the place was transphobic. | |
| Maybe it was still racist and sexist. | |
| Who knows? | |
| But we'll find out, won't we? | |
