| He asked him, what do you want to close this deal? | ||
| Mike has to be elected. | ||

| Norman told reporters that Trump wasn't really the issue for him, that he knew where Trump stood. | ||
| he wanted assurances from Mike Johnson that he would fight on things that Trump says he wants on matters of border security, as well as cutting federal spending and cutting the budget, which Trump doesn't really seem to care that much about. | ||
| Keith Self as well said he was mostly frustrated by the way the last Congress went. | ||
| And it seems like they were ultimately just making a point. | ||
| Now, at the end of the day, Trump did get his wish. | ||
| He did get these two ultimately on board after Trump. | ||
| You know, Mike Johnson held the vote open for an hour. | ||
| But also, over the last month, we've seen the limitations of Trump's power and Trump's influence as well. | ||
| You mentioned the nominees he had, most notably Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, who the Senate quietly rejected, and Trump just kind of accepted the L and moved on. | ||
| He threatened to primary Republicans who voted for a government funding bill last month without lifting the debt ceiling, and 170 Republicans defied him, voted for that bill anyway. | ||
| The House is going to be what makes or breaks Trump's agenda, Chris. | ||
| The margin right... | ||
| It's going to shrink further, 217 to 215, at least temporarily while some of these Republicans leave the House to join Trump's administration. | ||
| That means any one Republican... | ||
| Tom Massey, the hard no on Mike Johnson, or anybody else, Chip Roy, the hardline conservative, anyone can take down a bill. | ||
| And I spoke to Speaker Mike Johnson just in the last hour or so, asked him what the plan is to move Trump's agenda and that so-called big budget reconciliation package. | ||
| He said early January, early January very soon is going to be when they start moving that budget bill, but he still wouldn't tell me whether it's going to be one bill or two bills. | ||
| That is one of several divisions that Republicans face. | ||
| Now, one other thing that Mike Johnson has been telling people, reminding people, is that Sixty percent of Republicans in this new Congress have never had a trifecta. | ||
| That's going to make it very difficult to teach them how messy governing is and the kind of compromises they need to make things work, Chris. | ||

| By noon, when you start talking to reconciliation, you get Jason Smith and those guys up there doing the three-card money because they want to hide what's really in the tax part. | ||

| It would be trillion-dollar cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. | ||

| I believe right now we're going to go into this. | ||
| You saw it from last night. | ||
| And what happened in the interim is that a segment of the Freedom Caucus, 11 members led by the Andy Bigses and the Chip Roys and the Eli Cranes and virtually everybody that comes on this show, friends of this show, and what I think... | ||
| Congressman Brendan Boyle right there in Pennsylvania said are the people that are sincere about trying to cut the debt and cut the deficit. | ||
| Sent a letter putting Speaker Johnson on notice. | ||
| And this is the important thing. | ||
| They didn't do it before the vote. | ||
| They want to have the vote. | ||
| They want to have President Trump's back. | ||
| But to be very specific, hey, President Trump, you're telling us this is your speaker. | ||
| He's your guy. | ||
| Then afterwards they sent a letter. | ||
| Of which I'll get into a little bit later and put it up on the screen a little bit later. | ||
| Outlining what has to happen. | ||
| Are they going to come in and vote no and either shut the stuff down the Rules Committee or force Johnson to have to use Democrats to pass these bills? | ||
| Concepts you should start to get into your vernacular deficit neutrality. | ||
| Actually being beyond deficit neutrality on tax cuts would have to be to actually take down the deficit. | ||
| Not just neutrality, but making it smaller. | ||

| The key concept, as we told you yesterday, was rules and a couple of big changes on the rules yesterday, and also reconciliation. | ||
| Out of Fort McNair, they're going to come up with a strategy, either two bills or one. | ||
| We're a very strong two-bill proponent to actually fire off the football with a very positive action on immigration on the border. | ||
| On making sure there's enough funding for the border, border security, and mass deportations, getting mass deportations done and having something codified that augments the executive orders of President Trump, the shock and awe that President Trump is going to go back to the original. | ||
| We need not just a win, the country needs to get on with the process of the removal of the illegal alien invaders. | ||
| Now, I have recommended they should have a summit or a mini-summit meeting ASAP with the frontline nations in Central America. | ||
| To make sure that there's some sort of organized plan and agreement. | ||
| And if there's not an agreement and there's some recalcitrant actors, then you start using tariffs and kind of economic measures to make sure that people understand there's not going to be, there's not a free shot on goal here. | ||

| And they're going to return to their homeland. | ||

| We have been a very strong component of seize the institutions. | ||
| And part of that is to show that you're in charge, you're the driver of action, and this gets back to the confirmations. | ||

| And particularly for people like Cash Patel and Pam Bondi, kind of the legal deep state. | ||

| Look, last night they pushed out 11 changes to orders of succession. | ||
| And that is, at 12.01 on January 20th, all of the Biden political appointees are gonna be out the door. | ||
| And these orders of succession, if they are kept in place, are gonna set who basically takes over. | ||
| That very instant that President Trump puts his hand on the Bible until our appointees are sworn in. | ||
| If you look at some of the agencies that they changed up the order of succession, you've got USAID going all the way back to 2008, but then you've got Treasury on there. | ||
| 2016 was the previous one, Justice 2017, DHS 2016. So they're really trying to restructure. | ||
| Who is going to be in charge the second that President Trump takes the oath of office? | ||
| You know, look, you and I both know from the first term, it's orders of succession like these is how we got stuck with people like Sally Yates, who refused to defend the counterterrorism immigration ban. | ||
| So, you know, this stuff really matters. | ||
| And we've got to we've got to be on top of it because this is how they're going to blunt us as we hit the beach on January 20th. | ||
| I want to go back over this. | ||

| An order of succession. | ||
| You have political appointees and you have two types of political appointees. | ||
| Of the 4,000 total, you have 3,000 that can hit the beach immediately. | ||
| Just needs a security clearance. | ||
| No confirmation of the Senate. | ||
| 1,000 roughly are Senate confirmed. | ||
| All the political appointees, regardless of confirmed or not confirmed, are essentially terminated at high noon on the 20th. | ||
| When the president takes the oath, it's now he's relieved the watch in a naval term. | ||
| He's relieved the watch. | ||
| You get rid of all their political appointees. | ||
| This order of succession is the Biden regime then coming out and saying, these are... | ||
| Permanent government employees. | ||
| These are not political appointees. | ||
| They're a part of the administrative and or deep state. | ||
| And whatever the department is, whether it's the Treasury Department, whether it's USAID State Defense, this is the order of succession in which they go. | ||
| I'm going to hold you because I want to give you enough runway to explain why do we need an order of succession? | ||

| In essentially the middle of the night, two weeks, roughly two weeks from President Trump, President Trump comes and takes the oath of office. | ||

| Why would it even come out? | ||

| How did they pick this, and who's in back of it, sir? | ||

| Just to be very clear, all of them except for one already had standing orders of succession, some of them going back to 2008. So you've really got to wonder why, like you said, on Friday in January, less than 20 days before the inauguration, they had to make a big move to change these. | ||
| Again, there is going to be a lag between the time that President Trump takes the oath of office. | ||
| And when we get our people in the door at these key agencies, it's not going to be instantaneous. | ||
| Just to be realistic, we can look at the first term. | ||
| There's gonna be delays in the Senate. | ||
| They're gonna try to delay with people's security clearances. | ||
| And there's a whole other litany of ways that they're gonna try to frustrate us in those first few weeks. | ||
| I mean, I think if you recall, Steve, just to go back to 2017. Day three, I think, of the administration, when we went over to CIA, where President Trump gave that monumental speech. | ||
| If you recall, when we were heading over there, we didn't actually know who was in charge of CIA until we showed up. | ||
| Who's in charge in that kind of intervening transition period is set by the orders of succession. | ||
| So these are extremely important documents. | ||
| We've got to go through and analyze these ones that came out last night and really try to figure out who are they trying to push us to to be in charge of these agencies. | ||
| I think that that's going to be very revealing. | ||
| You're absolutely correct. | ||
| So this is that interim period in case anything happens. | ||
| My understanding, I don't think, maybe some of the landing teams, I don't think there's been a broad discussion with the Trump team about this. | ||
| That would be unusual, right? | ||
| There doesn't seem to be any real, and look, I know the people working on it may disagree, but from a general 60,000 foot, I'm not feeling a ton of cooperation. | ||
| Although Biden says he's doing a ton of cooperation between the illegitimate Biden regime and President Trump's new team. | ||
| And that's why I think dumping this on a Friday night, I would have hoped they would have run this by President Trump and actually had a briefing with President Trump's inner circle about this. | ||

| For instance, USAGM. Why are they changing the order of succession at U.S. to AGM? I mean, to me, that's obviously where Carrie Lake's going in. | ||
| So it seems to me maybe they're trying to prep the environment to make it even more difficult for her. | ||
| So, again, a lot of... | ||
| Yes, what they're trying to do is they're trying to put their own careerist there to make it... | ||
| Remember, she goes to VOA, which is a subset of that. | ||
| That is actually a Senate-confirmed position. | ||
| They're going to try to drag out Carrie Lake getting into VOA forever. | ||
| The last thing they want is President Trump's people. | ||
| Michael Pack, my friend who was put up to head up USGAM, was three years. | ||
| He didn't get confirmed until three years into the process. | ||
| And it was Mitch McConnell, but it was also the apparatus that they tried to bleed out Michael Pack. | ||
| These people cannot be trusted on anything. | ||
| So when you see something like this, you understand that this is all. | ||
| They're trying to go on record and say, oh, we told you about that. | ||
| We did this. | ||
| But this is all to try to stop. | ||
| President Trump's people from coming in and actually taking control of my mantra, seize the institutions. | ||
| This is the illegitimate regime, the administrative state, and the deep state fighting back, is it not, sir? | ||

| And I think the other example I'll use, which is just a key example of this from the first term, is we had holdovers at the NSC who ended up stealing President Trump's the first two years of his term. | ||
| The president should have been able to send those people back to their home agencies with a stroke of a pen. | ||
| But you and I both know, despite the fact that he ordered to do that, it took two years for that to happen. | ||
| So, again, don't underestimate, and I think this is what you were saying earlier this week, do not underestimate the measures that the permanent bureaucratic state, the permanent national security state, and frankly, the outgoing... | ||
| Yeah, we're talking about the detailees. | ||
| Remember the NSC at the time, like 75% of the people were detailees from the interagency and from different agencies. | ||
| They were all embeds of Obama and Bush. | ||
| It's totally 100% anti-America first. | ||
| Rich Higgins, the brave Rich Higgins, actually did a memo, detailed memo. | ||
| McMaster's got it and used that to run Higgins out of the White House. | ||
| President Trump actually told McMaster's in front of me, I want to execute on Higgins' thing. | ||
| I want to get rid of all these people. | ||
| And McMaster's didn't do it. | ||
| He did not carry out an order from the commander-in-chief flat out. | ||
| Just dragged his feet. | ||
| And if you go back and look at the list that Higgins gave, it's the top crew of the impeachment that took place around Ukraine. | ||

| Higgins knew immediately who the bad actors were and get him out of there. | ||
| But the apparatus will always fight back. | ||

| If the president makes a decision, don't think it's immediately executed upon. | ||
| This is why you have to force your will through the entire apparatus. | ||
| Also, what Ezra's telling you is more inside baseball. | ||

| When you come up with an executive order to make sure it's constitutional... | ||
| The Justice Department has an internal law firm, the Office of Legal Counsel. | ||
| It's basically the law firm internal to the Justice Department. | ||
| That is, on all executive orders, you have to go through OLC, and they write essentially an opinion, like if you were doing a deal and needed a fairness opinion from a white shoe law firm, they would write a fairness opinion about your deal after doing due diligence. | ||
| These guys write opinions. | ||
| When we did the, as you remember, Ezra, you were very involved with, we did the travel ban. | ||
| The very first one included the Muslim nations. | ||
| It included Iraq. | ||
| Madison, these guys went nuts. | ||
| But we had the OLC had given us an opinion. | ||
| We knew it was constitutional because their purpose is to come back and say, hey, this is not constitutional. | ||
| We have to change these things. | ||
| They gave us a clean bill of health on that. | ||
| It took a while. | ||
| It takes a while to do this. | ||
| We had worked on that for a couple of months. | ||
| I think we dropped it in the first 10 days or the first weekend of the administration. | ||
| But we had an OLC opinion. | ||
| It does take time and it takes work. | ||
| This is why President Trump was so confident. | ||
| He goes, hey, I don't mind going to the Supreme Court on this thing. | ||
| And guess what? | ||
| Happened much later. | ||
| The Supreme Court upheld President Trump's travel ban. | ||
| Because why? | ||
| We had gone to OLC and gotten an opinion. | ||

| Just don't think Trump can sign an executive order the first day. | ||
| You've got to get OLC. And this is why I'm advising the Trump transition right now. | ||
| He's got to get on top of this. | ||
| Because these guys couldn't be more in your face, Ezra, that they intend to contest every inch of ground on this deconstruction of the administrative state and the destruction of the deep state. | ||
