| We are talking about an incredibly radical vision of America that you just described, you know, was on display at the CPAC convention. | ||
| But this time it would be made permanent by a nuclear option that exists in the Constitution's Article 5, which talks about how we amend The Constitution, and that Constitution has been amended 27 times, most of them good, by the people and things that had full sunshine and lots of public discussion. | ||
| If anything, you know, many have thought the Constitution is too hard to amend. | ||
| But the Constitution also has another measure in it that says that two-thirds of the states can demand that Congress convene a constitutional convention if they so authorize. | ||
| As we have been transfixed by Donald Trump and other parts of the MAGA movement, in fact, the political right, and this is the combination of big money donors like the Koch Network, the Ulanes, etc., on the one hand, and then this MAGA base that you've described so well on the other. | ||

| They have come together to push for this constitutional convention. | ||
| They've been pushing it out to the states since 2013 through the American Legislative Exchange Council. | ||
| They now have 28 of the 34 authorizations needed. | ||
| What's really frightening, though, over the last year or two is that they have realized that they will never get to 34, honestly. | ||
| So they have come up with a new math that they call aggregation. | ||
| They're going to take any authorization for a constitutional convention left on the books in America And use that in order to insist that a new Congress call this convention. | ||
| And what is it that they want to do with it? | ||
| What do they want to change about the Constitution? | ||

| The leader of this effort, a man named Mark Meckler, formerly head of Tea Party Patriots, now head of the Convention of States efforts, has said that they seek to roll back 115 years of progressivism. | ||
| Now that sounds like big talk for a guy in a bar or something, but the fact of the matter is they have been steadily doing this Our side has not been paying adequate attention, and if the Republicans manage to get hold of Congress, and Mike Johnson is the Speaker of the House, he's a deep supporter, he unites both those wings of the Republican Party, the fossil fuel billionaires with the theocrats, and he will, I believe, and so does Common Cause and others who study this. | ||

| When you read this book, Embracing Communist China, you see the handshake down there between the business community. | ||
| It is pretty evident that the elites in this country over a period of 30 or 40 years sold out the American people. | ||

| In fact, just today in the China Daily, there's a picture of a bunch of Americans standing and saying they're old friends with Xi Jinping. | ||
| They've infiltrated our nation, our investor class, our wealth and business people, and our government to say that we should work together and engage with them. | ||

| Was it ideology? | ||
| Was it greed? | ||
| Was it avarice? | ||
| Was it contempt for the American people? | ||
| How did this happen from the people that have benefited from the system the most? | ||
| It's all of the above. | ||
| There is clearly greed because people had their professions based on this. | ||
| They were able to have careers where they engage with China. | ||
| Some people ideologically agree with this communist worldview. | ||

| The guys that run the communists, the CCP, are the richest guys in the world. | ||

| Well, the book is absolutely essential to call attention to the issue right now, given the fact that we have such problems with where we are, with the dominance of the engagement school over our foreign policy community. | ||

| There are a hundred million evangelical and traditional Catholics in China that are actually more persecuted than even in Eastern Europe during the reign of the Bolsheviks, right? | ||

| You saw dozens upon dozens of Republicans joining with every Democrat to pass more spending. | ||
| My fear is that we don't have a team who understands how to utilize leverage. | ||
| The House of Representatives is the sole node of power that we have in this entire government right now. | ||
| I say we take it out for a spin. | ||
| I say we put the majority at risk if necessary to accomplish our goals. | ||
| That's what the left does. | ||
| The left is willing to take risks to advance their objectives, and then we are far too willing to preside over decline. | ||
| So my fear is that coming in March, you'll see this middle-out, uniparty, minibus system that will prevail over those of us who want true spending cuts and want institutional reform to the Congress. | ||
| Now, the omnibus spending bill, where you vote on everything at once, One thing I'll give Speaker Johnson is he busted that up so it will have to be minibuses instead of omnibuses. | ||
