| I just had a good meeting with President Zelensky. | ||
| I reiterated to him that we stand with him and against Putin's brutal invasion. | ||
| The American people stand for freedom and they're on the right side of this fight. | ||
| I have asked the White House since the day that I was handed the gavel as Speaker For clarity, we need a clear articulation of the strategy to allow Ukraine to win. | ||
| And thus far, their responses have been insufficient. | ||
| They have not provided us the clarity and the detail that we requested over and over since literally 24 hours after I was handed the gavel as Speaker of the House. | ||
| And so, what the Biden administration seems to be asking for is billions of additional dollars with no appropriate oversight, no clear strategy to win, And none of the answers that I think the American people are owed. | ||
| I have also made very clear from day one that our first condition on any national security supplemental spending package is about our own national security first. | ||
| The border is an absolute catastrophe, and this is because of the policies of this White House and this administration. | ||
| We had 12,000 illegal crossings on one day last week alone, on Wednesday. | ||
| We have Almost now 280 known terrorists that have been apprehended at the border. | ||
| None of this counts the gotaways. | ||
| If you add the numbers up, it's almost 7 million people who have been encountered at the border just since President Biden took office and at least 2 million gotaways. | ||
| This is twice the population of my state of Louisiana. | ||
| Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 49 in this country. | ||
| Fentanyl poisoning because it's allowed over the border. | ||
| We have human trafficking and all the other terrible things. | ||
| In the last three months, October, November, December alone, we've had more illegal crossings at the border than in any entire year during the Obama administration. | ||
| The American people see this. | ||
| They feel it acutely. | ||
| They see all the terrible societal ills that come from this. | ||
| And it must be addressed. | ||
| So I've made this very clear. | ||
| Again, from the very beginning, when I was handed the gavel, we needed clarity on what we're doing in Ukraine and how we'll have proper oversight of the spending of precious taxpayer dollars on the American citizens, and we needed a transformative change at the border. | ||
| Thus far, we've gotten neither. | ||
| The Senate has been MIA on this. | ||
| The House passed H.R. | ||
| 2 six months ago, more than six months ago. | ||
| It's been sitting and collecting dust on Chuck Schumer's desk. | ||
| I have told him personally, I've told the National Security Advisor, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, that these are our conditions, because these are the conditions of the American people. | ||
| And we are resolute on that. | ||
| It is not the House's issue right now. | ||
| The issue is with the White House and the Senate. | ||
| And I implore them to do their job, because the time is urgent, and we do want to do the right thing here. | ||

| Well, he did walk out and he said his mind hasn't been changed. | ||
| Vance is one of those skeptics, Ukraine skeptics, who is opposed to providing more aid to Ukraine. | ||
| A handful of other senators decided not to go to this meeting because of their opposition for aid to Ukraine, but Zelensky is having a very high hurdle to clear here in order to convince Republicans in particular to green light aid to Ukraine amid a separate dispute over changing immigration laws to deal with the migrant crisis at the southern border with Mexico. | ||
| Republicans want a deal on immigration first before they agree to more aid to Ukraine. | ||
| So even as Zelensky is making this pitch, we don't expect many minds to be changed. | ||
| That includes the chief negotiator On the issue of immigration, James Langford, who I caught up with and asked him about this very issue, whether or not Zelensky, if he asked to punt on immigration, would they be amenable to moving forward on Ukraine? | ||
| He said no. | ||
| Are you concerned that if there's no money, Ukraine could lose the war to Russia? | ||
| Well, that's always been a big possibility the whole time. | ||
| I've never thought they could win to begin with, especially the way we eased into it. | ||
| What are the implications that if Russia wins, are you worried about the implications if Russia wins? | ||
| Well, everybody keeps saying they're going to continue to go across Europe. | ||
| I mean, they can't beat Ukraine on the eastern side. | ||

| So you're hearing the divide within the GOP side. | ||

| But there is no deal in sight between the two parties on border security, which is why President Zelensky, despite these urgent appeals, leaving Washington without any aid. | ||
| Unclear when and if that may happen. | ||
| How do you convince Republicans that this is existential for global safety and the other one is serious and is also to some degree a national security issue but should be separated out? | ||

Well, I think at this point it's becoming clear that I think some level of border security is going to be part of the supplemental. | |
| That is what we're negotiating on now. | ||
| I'm very glad to see people are back at the table. | ||
| Should we mix and match domestic policy with foreign policy? | ||
| I would suggest no. | ||
| But that is the point that we are at and it's critical that we both make sure we're getting this supplemental done and also addressing some of our border security and immigration concerns. | ||
| I would remind people that a lot of this supplemental will actually be going to our own US defense manufacturing base, to US jobs, US companies here at home. | ||
| Things that we have been wanting to do since before Russia even invaded Ukraine, making sure we had a modern defense base here at home. | ||
| And also, when we talk about comprehensive immigration reform, you're exactly right. | ||
| We've seen a Republican president and a Republican Senate and a Republican House do nothing on this issue. | ||
| We've seen a Democratic president and a Democratic Senate and a Democratic House not get anything done on this issue. | ||
| We need to work together in a bipartisan way To make sure we're addressing our security at the border, to make sure we are providing pathways to citizenship and addressing immigration so we have high skilled labor to fuel our innovation, so we have seasonal workers to help our rural farm areas. | ||
| These are all things that I hear about from people across this country. | ||
| Our immigration system is broken and we really do need to all come to the table in a bipartisan way because that's really the only way forward. | ||
| This is the primal scream of a dying regime. | ||
| Pray for our enemies. | ||
| Because we're going medieval on these people. | ||
| I got a free shot on all these networks lying about the people. | ||
| The people have had a belly full of it. | ||
| I know you don't like hearing that. | ||

| And when I say same pitch, there's no organized Under the War Powers Act, Biden would have to come down and actually make a presentation, go to the House and make the case. | ||
| They've never even had the common decency. | ||
| It's all, oh, you're fighting for freedom. | ||
| You're fighting for liberty. | ||
| You're doing this. | ||
| You're doing that. | ||
| This is to save democracy. | ||
| Everything they've told you up till now has been a total lie. | ||

| And first, I'll go talk to our military and try to even politicize that even more. | ||
| They don't need a briefing for you in the military. | ||
| What you went there to do is to get them worked up to start working the phones, to politicize our military. | ||
| It's outrageous. | ||
| That in and of itself, we should send that guy packing. | ||
| The question that Johnson and these guys sent, when Johnson came out, look, he's a good and decent guy. | ||
| He said, hey, the first day I took the gavel, I asked the White House, give me a plan. | ||
| Give us some objectives. | ||

| Like right now they want $60 billion. | ||
| Has anybody had the common decency to talk to you about what next year they want and next year and next year? | ||
| When you plan your life, when you get a car or when you get a mortgage, When you make some big commitment like that, or just in playing your life with your job, and maybe I'll shift, maybe I'll go to graduate school, maybe I'll do this, don't you have to think downrange? | ||
| And you don't have the resources of the federal government. | ||
| And obviously, it's not a it's what you're doing is not a an action of state. | ||

| You have people's lives on the line, people's livelihoods on the line, the good of the country. | ||

| Alex, the big fight in the MAPS, and what I want to show, the important thing to show in this war in Posse is to show you how the Democrats roll. | ||

| Yeah, so we had a big ruling today at the New York Court of Appeals, which in New York is the highest court, and they ruled in a sharply divided 4-3 decision that the Independent Redistricting Commission Has to submit a new map to the legislator either at quote, the earliest possible date, but at no event date later than February 28th. | ||
| That plan has to go through the legislator and get passed. | ||
| And so now they've tossed it all according to this court, of course. | ||
| And it's just wild to think about that. | ||
| The constitution is clear that you set your redistricting, you know, every 10 years. | ||
| So they've broken that, of course, in our opinion. | ||
| We've already litigated this last time and we won into the appeals court. | ||
| But what's happened from then to now is important because it's some of the most blatant corruption going around everywhere in the country. | ||
| And you think about the context of what President Trump is dealing with in New York. | ||
| And in a way, it's all connected. | ||
| This corrupt New York court system, all intertwined. | ||
| And it's a total cesspool. | ||
| And so, yes, we won last time. | ||
| 4-3 on the process of the independent map being drawn after they couldn't come to agreement, right? | ||
| We won actually 5-3 that no one talks about in the media over the actual map being gerrymandered. | ||
| They challenged this time not on the map being gerrymandered because this map is totally fair. | ||
| They don't have an argument on an issue with the map like you're seeing in these other court cases, Steve, where they're arguing about racial disparity and other issues, right? | ||
| This is not the case here. | ||
| They're talking about the process on how this was formed with an independent judge and a special master that came in and drew it, which there's precedent for. | ||
| They literally, from then to now, Steve, they essentially blackmailed the chief judge who was put in by Cuomo, got her out, who ruled in our favor, like literally got rid of the judge, Steve. | ||
| Think about that. | ||
| Put in a new judge, or they tried to, they blocked that judge because they couldn't get the commitments that apparently DC was trying to make this, Judge, applicant, and grido. | ||
| They swapped in another judge to go be the new appeals court judge. | ||
| They thought it was fine. | ||
| Then there was rumblings that they were going to rule our way because it's totally out there and in your face. | ||
| All backroom deals, all money, all corruption in New York. | ||
| And then they swap her out. | ||
| They were accused like two months ago. | ||
| They just pulled the judge off the case. | ||
| And they put in a judge that had already ruled on an earlier case. | ||
| I'm not a lawyer, but for the lawyers, I understand. | ||
| The most insane thing anyone's ever heard. | ||
| I mean, you have a judge that already ruled on a lower court on the same decision in their favor, then get put in. | ||
| And so it's totally bizarre. | ||
| And I think criminal, probably. | ||
| And so here we are. | ||
| So there's a path forward. | ||
| We will be fighting. | ||

| Well, we could lose a couple seats, three, four seats, because they already, if they go as far as they went last time, they know they'll lose again when they drew at least, they drew four Republican seats in their first iteration that we ended up defeating, Steve, right? | ||

| But my point is, if retention is three or four seats, that means you're saying the majority hangs in the balance on this ruling. | ||
