| On the eve of the first anniversary of the Third World War kickoff in Ukraine. | ||
| Let's go to John Fredericks. | ||
| John, this story in Pennsylvania from East Palestine, and now you see this is not a national story, this is a global story. | ||
| You have uncovered, sir, what we're going to start referring to as the American Chernobyl, not the Ohio Chernobyl, the American Chernobyl, John Fredericks. | ||
| Well, the people of East Palestine and the people in western Pennsylvania, where we are right now in Beaver Run County, are saying the same thing. | ||
| They're calling it their Chernobyl. | ||
| The hearing today, the first hearing in the country put on by Doug Mastrano, who was chairman, of his committee on emergency preparedness and veterans. | ||
| Fireworks. I told you earlier about the residents coming on crying about losing everything. | ||
| They have nothing. | ||
| They can't eat. They don't have water. | ||
| Their children are sick. They have nowhere to go. | ||
| One of the most riveting comments, and I have to say it again, was one mom, two jobs, Single mom said, I can't go anywhere. | ||
| I have no money. | ||
| What will become of us? | ||
| I mean, that was... | ||
| You couldn't... | ||
| You could hear a pin drop. | ||
| And these bureaucrats come in, a bunch of feckless CYAs. | ||
| Now, the director of FEMA didn't show... | ||
| And none of the Norfolk Southern executives showed, but Mastriano says he's going to start issuing subpoenas. | ||
| But the director of Pima came. | ||
| That's the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, a Randy Podfield. | ||
| Well, he got absolutely skewered by Democrat-Liberal ranking member Katie Muth. | ||
| When he got done, he had about a 20-minute testimony. | ||
| And he gets old and he's modeling all the decisions they had to make and how they make these decisions and everything else and how it went down. | ||
| Never actually saying who made the decision of the controlled burn, which was not a controlled burn. | ||
| I'll get to that in a minute. He gets all done and she grabs the mic and she says, you just spent 20 minutes telling us your only concern was their bottom line and saving your butt. | ||
| I mean, that just, it was unbelievable. | ||
| Then, Michelle Brooks, Republican senator, said, Sir, you're a complete and utter failure. | ||
| I mean, you've never seen a bipartisanship like, this isn't Republicans and Democrats. | ||
| These are just people trying to get to the bottom of this. | ||
| We had an attorney there from Morgan& Morgan, who's going to file a class action suit for these residents, Rene Rocha. | ||
| Here's what he said. Get this, Steve. | ||
| He said there was two and a half times more vinyl chloride released in the air than is in all of the U.S. combined. | ||
| He said to pretend this wouldn't matter is dishonest. | ||
| This is a cover-up. | ||
| He said stop calling it a controlled release and there's no response. | ||
| I mean, we just went over and over and over. | ||
| Person after person basically saying there's no number to call. | ||
| I was just on a show earlier who said, hey, give our audience the number to call. | ||
| There is no number. Because if you call the number, they don't answer the phone, Steve. | ||
| This is turning into a complete disaster for Josh Shapiro. | ||
| He did an act. We don't even know where he was. | ||
| They still can't tell the residents here what actual chemicals were released. | ||
| They can't tell them... | ||
| What the remedy is or what to do, they're telling them that everything is safe, but nobody will drink the water. | ||
| They're testing it by the contractor of a Norfolk Sun. | ||
| The other thing that came out today is they couldn't get to the bottom of who made the decision, right? | ||
| So now they're blaming it on a fire chief. | ||
| Running a town of 5,000 people. | ||
| That's totally absurd. | ||
| But what came out today is it's likely this decision was driven by Norfolk Southern, who had one goal, and that was to get the tracks back up and clean to get the trains running on them so they continue to make their profit. | ||
| What residents were saying that live by the tracks today is every time a train goes by, the smell gets worse. | ||
| It intensifies. So actually having the trains run right now is putting additional toxins into the air, making it worse. | ||
| No answers from anybody. | ||
| Pima was a disgrace today. | ||
| I tell you what, if I'm Josh Shapiro, I fire that guy this afternoon or it's going to be the end of his career. | ||
| Steve, this is now getting into the realm of a major U.S. cover-up. | ||
| Where nobody is telling the truth to these residents about what happened. | ||
| They're sick. They're afraid they're gonna get cancer. | ||
| They don't have any money. | ||
| They have nowhere to go. | ||
| And nobody is stepping up to help them. | ||
| One resident said, I called everybody. | ||
| I spent two days on the phone. | ||
| Finally, after calling my state rep, this rep, that rep, nobody would ever return my call, Shapiro's office, everything. | ||
| She said, finally, a representative A marketing representative from Norfolk Southern returned my call and said, look, go to a hotel. | ||
| If that's better for you, save the receipt. | ||
| And down the line, there might be an avenue, direct quote, an avenue for you to get reimbursed. | ||
| Will you stop? Will you stop? They told a working class person, go to a hotel and pay for it, and we'll get back to you in six months? | ||
| Yes. Yes. Yes, Steve. | ||
| This is the most unbelievable thing I have ever witnessed. | ||
| You couldn't sit through this thing without welling up with emotion. | ||
| The stories of these people, these witnesses, whose lives have been completely destroyed. | ||
| But Steve, it's beyond that. | ||
| It's beyond, look, I have a home and now it's worth nothing. | ||
| The fear. They're scared. | ||
| They don't know what to do. Nobody's telling them where to go, what to do. | ||
| They're not giving them an antidote. | ||
| They're just telling them everything is fine. | ||
| Well, they know it's not fine because they have rashes, welts, headaches. | ||
| They're sick. Their pets are dying. | ||
| Their kids are sick. | ||
| I mean, one person said, what am I supposed to do with my children? | ||
| I don't know. Tell me what to do. | ||
| What number do I call? | ||
| Nothing. The response here has been absolutely despicable. | ||
| And this hearing, this hearing is not going to stop. | ||
| Because when you've got liberal senators... | ||
| Like the ranking member who I mentioned, saying, you know, you talked for 20 minutes here and gave me absolutely no information, just all CYA stuff, and that was Katie Muth. | ||
| When you've got liberal Democrats appalled, she was appalled by what she saw today. | ||

| This guy, Randy Patfield, a complete and utter failure. | ||

| You've never seen a hearing like this before, but there was no coverage other than me and some small TV stations because nobody cares. | ||

| His own CDC, you gotta dig, but on the CDC website, you can find the figures for the last 12 months, and it's 110,000 people killed because of fentanyl, and the quote-unquote president says it was 70,000 and that he's gonna stop it as he dismantled the border day one after the inauguration. | ||

| And you know better than most because you've worn the cloth of the republic. | ||
| These people don't give a damn for those who bleed and die for this nation and those who are being poisoned in East Palestine. | ||

So we have talked to everybody from farmers and ranchers and local business people, to local elected officials, to local law enforcement, to the community food bank. | ||
| These people could not have come to Congress to testify. | ||
| We came to them and they provided us incredible insight about what's happening here. | ||
| You know, everything from going to the border and seeing all the gaps. | ||
| Now, Steve, I've been down to Yuma I don't know how many times, but it always reinforces to my mind the acuteness of this crisis that's happening here. | ||
| A lot of people don't realize that we're facing everything from a hospital that's being traumatized because it's got $26 million plus in uncompensated care. | ||
| Think about that in a community of 100,000 people. | ||
| This is not New York where you have all these places. | ||
| You have people who are from this community that can't even get into a bed in an emergency room sometimes or even in the maternity ward. | ||
| The nearest place is 180 miles away, either in San Diego or Phoenix. | ||
| So it's not just fentanyl. | ||
| It's not just drug trafficking, sex trafficking. | ||
| It is the impacts of the total community impact of illegal aliens crossing our border with impunity. | ||

| Congressman Biggs, I think what people are shocked about, these are American citizens coming up and giving this testimony and putting themselves out there. | ||

| He put out a 10-point plan education agenda where he really said where he stands as far as education is concerned. | ||

| And so this list is representative of That school board members that do not align with the DeSantis education plan. | ||
| And he was very clear that there is no place for people that want to indoctrinate our children serving in elected office in Florida. | ||

| So in 2021, we had a Parents' Bill of Rights in Florida that was signed into law. | ||

| And I'm happy to report today that there are 13 states where Parents' Bill of Rights is moving through committee. | ||

| We're seeing the Parental Rights and Education Bill that said that gender identity and sexual instruction should not be taught in grades K through 3. | ||
| That bill is moving in different committees across The United States of America in state legislatures, and some are taking it further where parents wanted it to go, which was K-8 or completely no gender ideology or sexual orientation instruction at all in public schools. | ||
| So absolutely, I think people are watching Governor DeSantis stand up on these issues and other governors Like Governor Sanders, Governor Reynolds, Governor Stitt, Governor Youngkin, you know, making meritocracy where we need to be when we talk about what is the goal of American education. | ||
| We want these kids to learn and we want to unfold their full potential. | ||
| And I think he is giving a blueprint for what that looks like. | ||
