| People I know will still say on January 6th, much ado about nothing. | ||

| Lawyers. | ||
| You know, at the end of the campaign, you would actually have, you know, I'd say, but what about the President of the United States ordering his Attorney General to arrest his opponent and his opponent's family two weeks before? | ||
| It just goes right over people's necks. | ||
| So we live in two alternative universes, and I've come to accept the fact that the things that I believe are direct threats to American democracy, a large number of Americans just don't care about. | ||
| They care about inflation. | ||
| They care about gas prices. | ||
| They care about things that obviously are extraordinarily important that my dad would care about. | ||
| But we're still, we're in two different worlds. | ||
| We're talking past them. | ||
| Why? | ||

That's such an astute point. | |
| And you've raised, I think, what is actually really hard here, which is that it's incredibly important to call out and talk about on this show and in your life everything you just mentioned, right? | ||
| It would be irresponsible not to. | ||
| It's been a lot of progress in the media to get folks to call these things what they are. | ||
| And yet, We risk living in perpetual reaction to these outrages and forgetting to do the second thing, the chewing gum along with the walking, that is offering people a thrilling, galvanizing, magnanimous vision of the future that is more exciting Then what the other side is offering. | ||
| The scary thing right now is that the people who want to end liberal democracy as we know it in America and who don't want to include, who would rather break the republic than share it, they are offering a vision that reads to many Americans as more welcoming and more inviting and more fun frankly. | ||
| And the people who are on the pro-democracy side trying to build a better movement are failing at that. | ||
| And so I set out to learn from people who show a different way. | ||
| And they say there's a bunch of things we need to do that can move some of those friends. | ||
| We need to command attention much more effectively on the pro-democracy side in the way that the right is very good at. | ||
| We need to, for some of your friends and lawyer friends and others, do a better job at making meaning of these things that are happening. | ||
| And actually understanding their intuitions, having empathy for what they value, and explaining to them empathetically and with care, not contempt, why it is that what's happening to the country violates what they believe, not just what we believe. | ||
| I think we need to meet people where they are, particularly on this issue of gas. | ||
| Inflation crime. | ||
| There is a tendency of the Democratic Party to say, no, no, no, no, the thing you're telling us you are worried about is not in fact something you should be worried about. | ||
| You have false consciousness in this worry. | ||
| You should in fact be worried about this thing I got over here that's far more important. | ||
| It does not work. | ||
| It does not work. | ||
| If you've met a real person, you know it doesn't work. | ||
| In fact, Democrats have a whole policy agenda. | ||
| That relates to those concerns people have, and have a theory. | ||
| But there is this total failure to actually meet people where they are. | ||
| There is a problem, President Obama was referring to, of a movement that feels inaccessible to people, feels standoffish, feels like a nightclub that's hard to join. | ||
| A lot of that's ginned up, some of that's real. | ||
| That has to stop. | ||
| So I spent time in all kinds of actual spaces outside of the national political scene for The Persuaders, where this is actually happening. | ||
| Where we're not having the most inflammatory version of these conversations that exists on other channels, where we are having generative conversations, where Americans are finding common ground, where we're talking about race in ways that actually pull people in rather than alienate people, where we're talking about how you have a more fair economy with opportunity for all, without scaring people. | ||
| And I really believe, in part because I refuse to give up on this country, that there is a way forward for American democracy, but it is going to take building a pro-democracy movement, a freedom movement, that is unlike any movement we have ever seen. | ||
| And I believe these persuaders I wrote about show a way to do it. | ||

| It's Tuesday, 18 October in the year of our 2022. | ||

| And we're going to have a sweeping, massive victory when the war room posse goes to the ramparts and does its job on the get out the vote and also securing the vote over the next three weeks. | ||

| So you would think that that's maybe from Rasmussen. | ||
| Or maybe that could be from Trafalgar and maybe it's published somewhere in War Room or Breitbart. | ||

| The Reuters headline screaming a few minutes ago, Biden approval stuck at 40% of dark side for Democrats in midterms. | ||
| A Reuters Ipsos poll of over a thousand Americans, a two day poll shows, driving Americans toward huge MAGA sweeps all across the country. | ||
| And we're seeing it everywhere. | ||
| Here's some absolutely ludicrous numbers out of the New York governor's race. | ||
| The Quinnipiac poll has Kathy Hochul, the Democrat New York governor, up four points in the Quinnipiac poll. | ||
| Four points over Lee Zeldin. | ||
| So Kathy Hochul, 50, and Zeldin, 46. | ||
| Among independents, I actually thought this was a typo, Steve. | ||
| Lee Zeldin is at 57, and Hochul is at 37. | ||
| Southerners up 20 points! | ||
| 20 points on Oklahoma. | ||
| Hang on. | ||
| Ho, ho. | ||
| I want to say something. | ||
| This for all the posse and everybody can hear my voice in New York State. | ||
| That poll is overweighted to Democrats as registrations in New York are. | ||
| That's why it's even four points. | ||
| The tell, is the proxy, is the independent. | ||
| It's a 20 point spread, and Lee Zeldin's almost at 60%. | ||

| Lee Zeldin is actually leading this right now. | ||
| That's why everybody has to put their shoulder to the wheel. | ||
| Everybody in New York State, from Long Island, all the way up to Hudson Valley, to the middle of the state, to the north. | ||

And Michael, meanwhile, a new poll by the New York Times, Siena College, found that the economy and inflation are the top two most important issues in the country. | |
| Right now, among likely voters, followed by the state of democracy, and then abortion. | ||
| What does this tell you, Michael? | ||
| Well, it kind of falls into a traditional pattern where you get into a midterm election or any election where the economy is kind of a driver, especially when you've got the sort of buffeting that voters are going through right now with gas prices, inflation, etc. | ||
| That's going to be foremost on their mind. | ||
| I still take note of the fact that democracy is an issue that's resonant with voters, and I think what the Democrats And democracy oriented candidates have to do is to link those together. | ||
| You can have, you know, an approach to deal with the economy, to deal with inflation, deal with governing issues. | ||
| But that becomes that's made much more difficult if you can't access the ballot box to put those candidates in place. | ||
| Uh, to help deal with those issues. | ||
| Um, it becomes much more difficult if you can't freely assemble, if you can't voice your opinion to the government, if you can't protest, if you can't do those things that democracy guarantees. | ||
| So what I think is important for for Democrats and candidates out there to do again, democracy or that he can't oriented candidates. | ||
| To bring those issues together, to let those voters know this is not zero-sum, baby. | ||
| It's not just about the economy. | ||
| It's about the whole thing. | ||
| And the whole thing is wrapped together around this thing and by this thing called democracy. | ||
| And if that fails, inflation and gas prices will be the least of your problems. | ||
| So I think it's important that that message resonate with people. | ||
| In a way that they understand this is not zero-sum. | ||
| Don't buy the snake oil that you're being sold that the party out of power is going to do anything about it because they didn't when they had the opportunity. | ||
| They didn't bring you infrastructure. | ||
| They didn't bring you a resolution on health care. | ||
| They didn't bring you resolution on taxes. | ||
| Unless you were a billionaire or a millionaire. | ||
| So it's how you make the case. | ||
| Because all of it wraps back to democracy for me. | ||

| What is a poll? | ||
| Left-wing media, be prepared to melt down fully. | ||
| What is a poll challenger, ma'am? | ||
| Under some state laws, you have multiple roles, and it's all decided by state law. | ||
| And so, in New Mexico, you have what is known as a poll challenger, and there's a poll observer. | ||
| An observer can only observe. | ||
| They can document, they can report problems. | ||
| A challenger is someone who is trained and who is authorized To actually come in and challenge a particular vote because of some irregularity or illegality. | ||
| And we have printed and handed out in New Mexico, I think now at this point, hundreds and hundreds of copies of the election handbook for New Mexico so that we can train. | ||
| And we have trainers all over the state. | ||
| These are volunteer trainers who are doing a great job. | ||
| And they're training people to say, here's what the law says, and if someone comes in to vote, here are the grounds for challenging. | ||
| And that's what's happened. | ||
| That's what is going to happen. | ||
| Now, the left goes collectively insane, or more insane, because they say that's vote suppression. | ||
| But no, the statute says you have to be registered at a residential address in order to cast a vote. | ||
| If you're registered at a post office box, you're not legal. | ||
| Hey, suppress this. | ||
| It's all by the rules. | ||
| It's all by the laws. | ||
| All by the rules! | ||
| They have to understand something. | ||
| All your illegitimate, non-chain of custody, non-certifiable, non-signature valid, non-ID valid, where that place should take place, of American citizens, where they're registered, all the rules and regulations for that part. | ||
| We're going to be there and enforce those rules, and we'll challenge any vote, any ballot, and you're going to have to live with it. | ||

| We, um, we're mostly Missouri canvassers and we published our report, which, uh, you saw a copy, uh, Missouri elections are impossible to validate. | ||
| That's not really showing up, but. | ||
| Uh, when we got that done, we started looking for other routes we could take. | ||
| Uh, we're evidence gatherers and we always felt like we were behind, right? | ||
| Canvassing happens behind or after the fact. | ||
| And when we went to a couple of lawyers and said, well, what can we do for injunctions? | ||
| You know, some of the things that Mike was showing us. | ||
| You know, you don't have the evidence. | ||
| You wait till the election goes sideways, then you go out and try to gather it. | ||
| So we started putting together what we called an election watch project, and we did it before our August primary. | ||
| And it really is simple because anybody can do it. | ||
| There's three categories, one being the voter experience. | ||
| So anybody who's voting can be watching for things that happen and they can create an incident report. | ||
| So they go out and There's a 30-minute video. | ||
| Everything's posted up on Frank's Beach. | ||
| It's all very easy to get to, so there's a 30-minute training video for this one. | ||
| But you just look for things, because as Theda's saying, they'll tell us, well, this is the rule, and then you get to the polling place and things aren't being done right, or they'll ask for certain different information. | ||
| So we got a couple of great ones during the primary turned in, and we just want people to be in front of it. | ||
| The other category is poll watchers or polling place. | ||
| You don't even have to be a poll. | ||
| In our state, it's election judges and election challengers. | ||
| So you don't have to be in that position, but you can go. | ||
| And if you're working one of those positions or you just happen to go in and when you're voting, you see that they're not running the polling place properly. | ||
| And there's examples of that. | ||
| So we have a couple of things there. | ||
| And the last one, which is actually a really interesting one, is the Uh, machine testing and the machine testing they test before the machines beforehand and after. | ||
| And so we go through a list of watch things that you can do. | ||
| And these, what we found is that, you know, our laws are a little bit different than other States, but we put up a video. | ||
| This became so popular. | ||
| We showed how other counties or other States could take it. | ||
| We put the master documents up so you can adapt it to your location. | ||
| But it allowed people who, you know, there's so many grassroots. | ||
| We have so many great volunteers, but they can't all go knock on doors or do certain things, but they want to help. | ||
| So the most important thing is to vote, and why not watch what's happening while you're voting? | ||

| But What they try to run, and this is why we had the opening cold opens, we're the anti-democracy crew, but we're bringing the votes. | ||

| No, actually, what I wanted to highlight is it looks like the opposite's happening. | ||
| Polling has shown, especially among independents, which is particularly significant, that the American people generally see an overreach by the Biden administration targeting political opponents. | ||
| We've seen Trafalgar, a bunch of others across the board, indicating this. | ||
| They've seen some of President Biden's rhetoric is divisive. | ||
| They've seen the Justice Department and FBI between their January 6th investigation, various other things. | ||
| I'm happy to go into any of the specifics you want, but they see the impression of a politicized federal law enforcement apparatus. | ||
| That's really gone too far to target political opponents. | ||
| And, of course, the Biden administration, Democrats in Congress have sort of portrayed themselves as the protectors of democracy against President Trump, his supporters, the MAGA movement, etc., who are threatening to undermine that. | ||
| That's sort of been the pitch. | ||
| And it seems like the polling indicates that's not sticking. | ||
| There are more voters who are concerned about Yeah, I want to make this very specifically though. | ||
| You went back and looked at Because we're so partisan Democrats and Republicans. | ||
| You looked at Independents, which they targeted too. | ||
| So on their big sale that the MAGA movement are insurrectionists, they're a bunch of successionists, they're anti-democratic, it's semi-fascist, all this stuff. | ||
| Relentless boom every day, every minute of every day on MSNBC. | ||
| With Independents, who quite frankly have no dog in the fight, right? | ||
| They're not Republican, they're not Democrat. | ||
| You're saying your analysis of the poll shows you that not only didn't play, it might have actually turned these people off? | ||

Yeah, I mean there's a recent poll that showed 54% of independents agree that the Biden administration has crossed an ethical line in terms of, you know, pursuing political opponents that have gone a step too far, and actually that poll found 74% of Hispanic voters agreed with that. | |
| That's across all political parties, which is Striking. | ||
| We've seen the majority of independents thought that Joe Biden's speech last month, early in the month in Philadelphia, where he essentially called the MAGA movement a threat to democracy. | ||
| They, you know, the majority thought that was too divisive and dangerous. | ||
| So it's across the board, it seems that, you know, you expect Republicans to kind of To feel that way, and Democrats feel the opposite, but it's going along party lines. | ||
| But the independents, the swing voters who ultimately tend to decide elections, they seem to be troubled by what's happening. | ||
| And it's one reason why I wrote this story, is the time with the conclusion of the January 6th House Committee public hearings, and of course calling to subpoena Trump. | ||
| And I thought that was sort of a symbolic kind of Hope to kind of, you know, discuss these larger issues. | ||
| The reason I want to get this up on the, I've got it on Getter, I want to make sure it's up on the, it's gotten a lot of traction on my Getter account, I want to make sure that we get, that we put this up in the chat rooms that Grace and Captain Bannon are doing right now, and here's the reason. | ||
| You don't even have to look at the, because they always say, well, other people think, and this is what they're selling on MSNBC and CNN, non-stop. | ||
| They're saying, well, you know, the inflation's overtaking it, the economy's overtaking it, there's all these things, and that, no, no, no, no, no. | ||
| What Aaron's piece shows you is just standalone. | ||
| That independents think it was overreach. | ||
| That independents are not buying it. | ||
| Forget, it gets worse when it looks at the compare and contrast and you look at other things and this is why the democracy issue is like abortion is down at, I don't know, 5, 6, 7 and 8 when trust me people are voting on the top two or three. | ||
| But the key point is that even when it's not compared to anything else, just in its own right, that it's not selling. | ||

| Independence and not just Republicans have lost confidence in the FBI and the Justice Department. | ||
| It's not a completely partisan issue. | ||
| Oh, a small minority in one poll, 20% of independents, gave the Justice Department a good or excellent rating in a recent poll, things like that. | ||
| So that's another important aspect of this losing faith in institutions. | ||
| I think it's portrayed as kind of Republicans are kind of opposing democracy and undermining institutions. | ||
| But I think if you dig into the data, it's more of a broader American people. | ||
| The American people are losing trust because of what they're seeing. | ||
| So it's not so much about threats to democracy. | ||
| It's a concern about our democracy being what it's been in the past moving forward. | ||
| No, I agree. | ||
| The FBI, they think it's, they just blame it all, it's MAGA, it's the ultra MAGA, it's these fascists. | ||
| No, it's the American people. | ||
| You can tell the proxies independence. | ||

Well, the left has been trying to push this narrative that Generation Z is going to be motivated to show up on November 8th based on their woke ideology, which, while it has been crammed down Generation Z's throat, it's clearly not working, at least according to the data. | |
| If we could pull up the Siena College National Survey, which ranks the most important issues facing the nation, we can see that 28% Think that the economy is the most important issue and 18% think inflation is the most important issue amongst 18 to 29 year old voters. | ||
| Now, not only is the economy the number one issue for young voters right now, but in addition to this, if you look at the Yahoo News survey from the end of September, if we can pull that up, you can see that 52% of 18 to 29 year olds disapprove of Joe Biden's handling of the economy. | ||
| Now, the disapproval of Joe Biden's presidency has been a trend that we have seen throughout 2022 amongst all voters, but particularly young voters, which is quite remarkable because these young voters are supposed to be Joe Biden's base. | ||
| They are supposed to be the base that is supposedly Going to propel him towards victory. | ||
| But that's just not the case. | ||
| And if we can look at more recent data from the Siena College National Survey, we can see that 36% and 18% somewhat disapprove or strongly disapprove of Joe Biden's job as president amongst 18 to 29 year olds. | ||
| And some even more remarkable data coming from this national survey. | ||
| We can see regarding the handling of the United States, we can see that 61% of 18 to 29 year olds feel that the country is headed in the wrong direction and 62% of 30 to 44 year olds think the country is headed in the wrong direction. | ||
| So young people and the Democrats saving grace, they are incredibly dissatisfied with the job that they have done. | ||
