| So our adversaries are the ones manufacturing and distributing this, not just in America, but also in 10 other Western countries. | ||

| It's absolutely an amazing book, because it talks about your life, your philosophy. | ||
| But as you know, the War Room, we pride ourselves on being the most partisan part of the MAGA movement. | ||
| And so, correct me, the theory of this book, this is your 50th, and you've written, you know, from history, American history, philosophy, about the Jewish people, the Constitution, the breadth of it's amazing. | ||
| But your argument is, hey, I've got to stand up for what I believe as I think things through or what these principles are. | ||
| And I'm unyielding in that. | ||
| And I'm going to upset my liberal friends up there in Cambridge. | ||
| And every now and again, I'm going to upset the MAGA guys because, you know, I'll do Trump's impeachment, but then I'll come back and say, like, the mask mandates or the vaccine mandates are good. | ||
| Is that is that is that the core essence of this book? | ||
| Well, the core essence is that I follow the Constitution, as I believe it was intended to be followed, so that I was against the impeachment of President Trump because he committed treason, bribery, or high crimes. | ||
| But I'm equally against the impeachment of President Biden, which some people on the right are calling for, because whatever you may think of what he's done and not done, I committed treason, bribery, or the high crimes. | ||
| So both sides hate me. | ||
| And in my book, The Price of Principle, I tell stories About how I've been attacked and continue to be attacked by the right and the left because I stand by my principles. | ||
| I got cavanaught the other day. | ||
| I go to a restaurant that I've always gone to, and I'm told that the owner says that people have said, if you continue to serve Alan Dershowitz at this restaurant, we're not going to go here anymore. | ||
| A friend of mine who's invited me to the same concert every year for like 40 years said, if I invite you this year, it'll be social suicide for me. | ||
| So, I'm enduring the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune, but I have a thick skin. | ||
| The point is that a miracle will not survive if we have this kind of vision. | ||
| If you and I can't talk to each other, you and I disagree about a lot of things. | ||
| I agree, by the way, that you had the obligation not to disclose material that might have been privileged by executive privilege. | ||
| Until the president waived that right so we agree on some things disagree on others, but in America. | ||
| It's very hard to talk to people Unless you're totally on the same side as they are on every issue. | ||
| I'll never be on the same side That's why I wrote the price of principle because I want to put principle before partisans Look, you're a revered professor of the Constitution, but you see what happened in the last session of the court. | ||
| I mean, we're here in Capitol Hill and it's in total lockdown by the Supreme Court right now. | ||
| The streets are all blocked around it and have been since the memorandum was leaked. | ||
| You saw after Roe v. Wade came out and then afterwards on the administrative state ruling on the EPA that the Justice Department and Biden, I mean, I'm not a lawyer and I'm certainly not a constitutional lawyer, but it seems like they were trashing a decision Of the Supreme Court and not just saying, hey, we're going to go try to do these things, but actually trashing it as an institution. | ||
| So is are the institutionalist because they call MAGA all the time that we're these rebels, we're these insurrectionists, we're anti-institutional, want to burn it all to the ground. | ||
| But do you believe the establishment, as you now see, you're getting canceled because you're sticking up for your principles? | ||
| Do you think what's supposed to be the establishment in this nation are really the anti-institutionalist? | ||
| Well, I think many of them are. | ||
| A recent poll showed that a majority of Democrats want to abolish the Supreme Court. | ||
| Young Democrats want to abolish the Supreme Court, the third branch of government, because they're unhappy with a couple of decisions. | ||
| You know, they loved the decision in 1996 when I was a law clerk in the Supreme Court. | ||

| The right didn't love it too much, but the right never called for the abolition. | ||

| Free speech for me, but not for thee. | ||
| They believe in the Constitution for me, but not for thee. | ||
| They want to see the Constitution and the criminal justice system serve as partisan weapons. | ||
| Your prosecution is part of that. | ||
| This is an attempt to weaponize the criminal justice system against political enemies. | ||
| Lavrentiy Beria, the head of the KGB, who once said to Stalin during the Stalinist purges, show me the man and I'll find you the crime. | ||
| And that's what they're doing now to former President Trump. | ||
| They're looking for crimes. | ||
| That's what they did to you. | ||
| They're looking for crimes. | ||
| They're not saying, oh, these are crimes, now let's find the person. | ||
| They're searching the criminal justice system for all possible crimes that they could direct against people who are on the other side politically. | ||
| And although I'm on the other side politically from you, I'm going to defend your right to be free from criminal prosecution and defend President Trump's right to be free from criminal prosecution as I did his right to be free from impeachment under the Constitution. | ||
| Well guess what, get ready to be cancelled a lot more restaurants. | ||
| Let me go back to MSNBC for a second because we monitor MSNBC and CNN constantly here. | ||
| They had a professor from Georgetown Law School on the other day and she was talking, I think it was a combination of Roe but it was also a combination of the shootings in Highland Park. | ||
| And she said that the Constitution is a document that was written by slaveholders, had white male toxicity in it. | ||
| It was patriarchal. | ||
| It's a document that kept us in bondage today. | ||
| What would be your response to her on this? | ||
| And she's basically saying that we need to basically move beyond the Constitution. | ||
| I think she actually said we should tear it up. | ||
| Well, it shows you what the future looks like for America, unless we can turn it around. | ||
| This is not people in bars yelling at the TV. | ||
| These are highly credentialed at the finest either Ivy League or Ivy equivalent law schools and undergraduate colleges in the nation. | ||

| Well, it shows you what the future looks like for America unless we can turn it around. | ||
| These are people who would not only tear up the Constitution because of who wrote it, but the Bible, the New Testament, the other religious documents, freedom, the Magna Carta, Not a single document in history was written by people who were perfect. | ||
| You know, I taught a course at Harvard College for years, it was where does your morality come from? | ||
| And I gave this of justification, justifications against gay rights. | ||
| In order to make them think, make them understand what the sources are. | ||
| Kostyevsky was a virulent anti-Semite. | ||
| Are we going to tear up all his books? | ||
| Shakespeare wrote The Merchant of Venice in which he demonized Jews and Othello in which he demonized a black man. | ||
| Are we going to tear up all of our literature and substitute for it political correctness and wokeness? | ||
| What will that do to America? | ||
| No, our Constitution is the longest enduring Constitution in the history of humankind. | ||
| It's imperfect, as all constitutionals are, but it's better than any other. | ||
| I stand with Winston Churchill when he said democracy may be the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried over time. | ||
| The same is true of our Constitution. | ||
| You want to amend it? | ||
| Amend it! | ||
| You want to interpret it in different ways? | ||
| Try to do that, but don't tear up the Constitution just because you don't like some of its results. | ||
| Professor, essentially part of your book, or one of the things I'll take away from your book, is like, come reason together. | ||
| That we've got to be able to come together and think. | ||
| I honestly have just a different opinion of American history from the Revolution, the Civil War, and the Great Depression, World War II. | ||
| One side's going to win, and one side's going to lose. | ||
| What path forward do you think is the best for this country? | ||
| What is in your mind the correct way? | ||
| Is it Alan Dershowitz's, let's come reason together now, and we can actually practically do that? | ||
| Or is it Bannon's, one side's gonna win, one side's gonna lose, and to the victor, we'll consider the issues of the, like after the revolution, the Tories, you know, half of the Tories, a third of the country was Tory, and half of those Tories left the nation. | ||

| Or the most realistic, I should say. | ||
| I'm with Lincoln. | ||
| A house divided against itself cannot stand. | ||
| I lived for years on Brattle Street, whose original name was Tory Row. | ||

| Yes, some of them went to England. | ||
| Yes, some of them moved to Canada. | ||
| But many of them stayed in the United States and became good citizens after the revolution was over. | ||
| No, I think we Not with everybody. | ||
| You can't reason with AOC. | ||
| You can't reason with Ilan Omer. | ||
| You can't reason with the extreme radicals any more than you can reason with Nazis. | ||
| No, you can't reason with real extremists, but the vast majority of Americans are a center-left or a center-right. | ||
| They can reason together, and a country can happen when we can come to some agreement. | ||
| On July 4th on my podcast, I didn't express opinions. | ||
| I showed people my collection. | ||
| I have letters from George Washington, letters from Alexander Hamilton, letters from Thomas Jefferson, all of them imperfect. | ||
| But I read those letters, and I read it in an effort to try to bring us together on July 4th. | ||
| Even then, I got criticism. | ||
| No, no, no, no, we can't reason together. | ||
| We have to separate ourselves into two countries. | ||
| Instead of it being North and South, it's now going to be Right and Left. | ||
| I don't think Lincoln would approve, and I don't approve. | ||
| I want to see us together. | ||
| I like conservatives. | ||
| I like to argue with them. | ||
| I love being on shows like yours, where I can have a serious conversation with somebody with whom I disagree. | ||
| And I think more of that is important in our country. | ||

Even our temple, our synagogue on Martha's Vineyard apologized the other day for having a conservative speaker, and the rabbi assured everybody that don't worry, in the | ||

| And so, you know, we have a deep problem in this country about our divisions, and I hope my point about the point of principle, the price of principle, will help resolve it. | ||

| This was about an FBI informant, why Ray knew about it, etc. | ||

| Darren had the story, you know, almost a year ago, I think, when the New York Times leaked in a buried lead in one line, down I think in 10 or 12 paragraphs, oh, the FBI had a couple informants Well, first of all, everyone needs to go and read the Gateway Pundit piece in its entirety, and I need to congratulate the folks at Gateway Pundit. | ||
| This is a great scoop. | ||
| What they've done is essentially they've obtained the government documents Um, outlining, uh, audio interviews with the FBI's confidential human source in the Proud Boys, the confidential human source who was on the ground in January 6th and contemporaneously and constantly communicating with his FBI handlers. | ||
| Now, not only was Revolver able to confirm the authenticity of these documents, we can say a step further, which is that this same informant | ||
| The same Proud Boys informant covered in this Gateway Pundit leak is the informant referred to in a New York Times piece back in September, when the piece went on about, among those in the Capitol, a Proud Boy informant, and it actually acknowledged two informants. | ||
| And so this is the same person. | ||
| Now, it's quite something that the New York Times would get a hold of this document and sit on it A document that's very interesting and should be in the public domain. | ||
| New York Times hoarded it, they sat on it, just didn't really release anything special. | ||
| So thankfully the Gateway Pundit has released it and so we're able to put some of the pieces together as to what really, really happened there. | ||
| And the piece that we have up right now in revolver.news takes it a step further and says, okay, so Now where are we given that these documents have come out? | ||
| What's relevant to the documents? | ||
| What's not relevant? | ||
| What are the burning questions that this document presents? | ||
| And that's up right now at revolver.news. | ||

| But real quickly, they had a headline when they put it up, I'm going to have Castronova on here in a second. | ||
| They had a headline, Chris Wray, here's what I don't get. | ||
| You've had Gates in the House, you've had guys in the Senate, they ask Wray this all the time he's up there. | ||
| Were there any government agents? | ||
| Were there any FBI assets? | ||
| And all he says is it's an ongoing investigation. | ||
| How can he sit there and essentially dissemble? | ||

| Well, it's very embarrassing for him because up until, you know, recently the dominant narrative that they were trying to push is that this is all an intelligence failure and These leaked documents from Gateway Pundit show what the New York Times reported when it grudgingly acknowledged the informant in the first place, which is that the federal government had a lot more visibility into January 6th beforehand and as it unfolded than it had previously acknowledged. | ||
| And I suspect we're going to find out that there's still more visibility that we haven't known, so stay tuned for that. | ||
