...the Department of State Security and Defense of the Lviv Regional State Administration. Citizens...
...the air force needs everyone to return to their homes, work or residence, to help the sick and the sickly.
Be ready for a possible counterattack. Always have personal defense equipment with you.
Listen carefully to the Department's message on the issue of civil...
...civil...
...fucking faggots!
suka masyat!
the plane again!
ebat! saw?
the plane crashed into the building the plane crashed into the building the driver went to heaven Oh, you've got that good, fast, fast groove. That's darn good.
It doesn't matter what you do off that I'm filming the passenger It doesn't matter It doesn't matter No, no, no You can't do that You hear this?
It's a corner Larry, keep inside, keep inside In here, here Against the wall How can I, how can I Right I'm gonna get ya!
You alright?
I'm good.
I'm good.
Should we run that way?
We've got to be mindful of the driver as well, okay?
ben harnwell
Let's move down this way, against the wall.
unidentified
He's okay, he's okay.
bill gertz
Keep chill.
joe scarborough
Now can you be specific?
I just say that they watch the show.
Can you be specific about the weapons?
Because we talk generally about needing to arm the Ukrainians with defensive weapons.
It's something that Barack Obama didn't do in 2014 until late in the game.
What do we need to do specifically?
What weapon systems need to be sent to the Ukrainians?
That's the first question.
The second question is how many U.S.
troops should we put in Poland?
How many U.S.
troops should we put in Estonia?
unidentified
Well, to your last point, I compliment the fact that the administration acknowledged we need more troops in Germany and Poland over the course of the last 72 hours.
It's happened twice, and the administration is making the right choice.
Again, I want the American people to understand, because there's a bunch of clickbait isolationists out there who pretend we're talking about putting ground troops in Ukraine.
Nobody is talking about that.
We're talking about putting troops in our NATO allies to make sure Putin doesn't cross those borders and to make sure he doesn't see NATO and U.S.
will as a paper tiger.
So we need more troops in Western and in Eastern Europe getting to the edges of NATO border territory.
But at the level of what weapons, I think it's probably best to let the Pentagon officials make those arguments.
But we've seen in the past with Javelins and Stingrays, going back to 2014, we've never been urgent enough.
And we need to make sure that none of the Ukrainian resistance fighters have any fear that they're possibly going to run out of ammo.
Just real basic level stuff.
You got grandmas trying to defend high-rises around the outskirts of Kiev this afternoon.
And those folks need to know there won't be some dumb bureaucratic answer that says, well, we put in the requisite request form and then that had a process where there was a CR, and three and six months later, we still didn't get around to it.
There needs to be an urgency, and the president needs to lead on that by saying the president should make the announcement today, to your question about the administration officials, that he's going to send up an emergency supplemental request for defense spending because they underfunded the Pentagon last year.
We need to make sure they aren't short of cash as they need to get weapons to the Ukrainians this week and this month.
joe scarborough
As we former Republicans used to call people that were sympathetic to the old Soviet Union, these useful idiots on the Trump right that we now have.
And the former Republican in me remembered the stories of the dissidents who would say they remembered him.
Hearing of what Ronald Reagan would say during the Cold War.
And it would spread around the jail cells.
It would spread around the gulags.
And this morning as I was thinking about that, I was so saddened because they're replaying this propaganda from Trumpists in Moscow.
And that has to be getting to the Ukrainian people.
How distressing, Madam Secretary.
How distressing.
hillary clinton
Well, Joe, as you know so well, we had a bipartisan agreement, a commitment, starting after World War II, with Harry Truman, all the way until the Soviet Union collapsed, that we would stand with people who loved freedom, like we do.
That we would stand with the dissidents who are speaking out about human rights and against oppression and death at the hands of regimes that, you know, the Soviet Union both executed themselves and supported elsewhere.
So this is heartbreaking, but it's also dangerous.
And I think it's time for what's left of the Republican Party that has any common sense, not just to say, OK, go help defend Ukraine against Putin, but to stand against those people in politics and government, in the media and elsewhere in our own country who are literally giving aid and comfort to an enemy of freedom and democracy.
It can't continue because it plays right into the ambitions of not just Putin, but also President Xi of China, to undermine democracy, to literally divide and conquer the West without ever invading us, but by setting us against each other.
mika brzezinski
How long, how quickly can a strong response come together to stop the bloodshed, understanding that this is about getting the world community and getting our allies to join us in everything that we're talking about here?
hillary clinton
Well, I do think it'll take some time, but that's why I advocate ratcheting up the sanctions faster.
I was very impressed to see a Member of Parliament in the UK Parliament stand in Parliament with the parliamentary protections that provides against defamation, enlisting a lot of the oligarchs in the UK who have interfered in British politics, who have been in lockstep with some of the Terrible things that Russia has done on British soil, like poisoning people, for example.
I think we need to call the oligarchs out.
We need to call them out by name.
We need to go after their assets, whether it's temporary suspension of access to assets, like yachts and huge houses, or whatever other steps can be taken, like bank accounts.
Because if we don't up the pressure now, Whatever we are doing, which I think is absolutely right, to bring the world together, to bring more troops, to protect our NATO allies, it will take longer.
And Ukraine will be burning.
Ukraine will be...
unidentified
I can't see.
steve bannon
Oh my God.
unidentified
We are left alone in the defense of our country.
Who is ready to fight with us?
Honestly, I don't see anyone.
Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of access to NATO?
steve bannon
Okay, that is President Zelensky there at the end of all of that saying, Hey, where's Biden?
You guys promised all this and you left us alone.
We led these people down the primrose path of all these false promises.
Oh, that you're going to be a NATO ally, you're going to be in NATO, we got your back.
And by the way, Hillary Clinton, she stole, she took $148, $150 million over to the Clinton Foundation for Uranium One.
They turned the Ukraine into a colony for their theft.
You want to call it oligarchs?
Let's start with the two scumbags.
And Hillary, I am so proud of the fact that I had a tiny, tiny role in 2016 to shatter your presidential ambitions you've had since you've been six years old.
OK?
And we'd just love to have you come back on to try to run for president again, because we'd love to destroy you again.
You are scum, okay?
The elites, they got what they wanted.
Party of Davos finally got what they wanted after all these false promises.
Where are all the big talkers in Davos?
Where are all the big talkers in Brussels?
Where are all the big talkers in Berlin, in Paris, in London, in Washington, D.C.?
Morning Joe's sitting there going, the White House watches our show.
Please tell us what we need.
Oh, we need weapons, you need all this, so more people are just going to get killed.
They got war in Ukraine, the paper of record of the Party of Davos.
The Global Elite's paper of record in the New York Times, War in Ukraine.
Russia invades Ukraine.
Okay?
They got it.
They finally got what they wanted.
Putin unleashes Ukraine assault.
They got what they wanted.
You see the cry of that baby at the end?
That's who's paying for it.
Who's paying for it here?
Putin is, according to Jack Posobie who's doing tremendous reporting, Putin is the tip of the spear.
They're the Chetsans, the Tartars, and the Cossacks.
Okay, they're unleashing hell in a very limited way, right?
It is limited, but it's obviously terrorizing and there's going to be a lot of bloodshed.
And where is all the false promises of Joe Biden and the Party of Davos and the rules-based, this is what they're talking about, it's the fetish they have, it's a fetish for the post-war Queen Hillary just said it the post-war international rules based order that was a false a false.
It was a Potemkin village right that the whole war is going to run by rule of law where you had a.
Dictatorship in China every bit as bad as the Nazis, right?
In Beijing, crushing the Chinese people.
And you had the KGB take over the Russian government.
That's what Putin is.
He's a KGB thug.
I've said that from day one.
I said that when I spent 10-12 hours with Dugan back in Rome, what, in 18.
It's all in that book, what is it, War for Eternity.
I laid out a case.
You've got to break off from China.
You must break off from China or this is what's going to happen.
Now you're going to have a war on the landmass of Asia.
And everybody ought to understand this is the fog of war and now we're in the law of Of uncertain outcomes.
Anything can happen here.
You have no earthy idea.
Unintended consequences.
You have no earthy idea how this thing's gonna play out.
But I tell you what you can see every second is the fecklessness, the haplessness, and the recklessness.
Is it their kids?
Is Hunter Biden in Kiev?
Is it their kids there?
The deplorables of the Ukraine are the ones that are going to be the cannon fodder here.
And here's what they want to do.
You do realize they're getting our troops up everywhere on the front line in NATO.
Where are their sons and daughters?
Where are the European sons and daughters?
Are guys in France going to send people into the Ukraine?
unidentified
Right?
steve bannon
Are the United Kingdom going to send some troops over there?
Scotland going to send some troops?
Right, with the Norwegians.
Norwegians down there in the front line.
It's your blood and treasure.
That's the scam.
They're sitting there all high and mighty, all puffed up, Vindman and all these guys, and Ambassador Taylor and MSNBC, and Joy Ann Reid with the Barbie wig on.
She's up there pontificating geopolitics every day.
Where are their kids?
Where are their money?
Your tax dollars, your kids.
We misled these people from the beginning.
We kept saying this.
You misled these people.
And now Biden is sitting there going, and that's Zelensky sitting there going, where are you?
You promised us.
You left us alone.
Where are you?
And these sanctions last night were a joke.
A joke.
Not even get to the SWIFT system.
You could delist their companies.
You could freeze their assets.
You could do everything.
They're not going to do that.
They're all part of it.
But the people who are going to pay for it are the people in the Ukraine.
Let's go to Berlin.
We've got Berlin and Rome to start off with.
Let's go to Matthew Tierman.
Matthew, you've got a couple of minutes in this segment.
We're going to hold you over.
Give us your current assessment of where we stand in this fiasco, sir.
matthew tyrmand
Well, first, so much to unpack in that cold open and your opening soliloquy.
The irony of Hillary Clinton and MSNBC talking about standing with the oppressed people It's Dem donors like Oliver Stone and Sean Penn who go to Venezuela and extol Chavez and Maduro.
It's Barack Obama with that limp-wristed holding the arm up with Raul Castro.
These people don't stand with the oppressed.
Look at all the money they're making off corporatism in China and the CCP with Larry Fink and Nike and all the big companies that have board of directors that are Dem donors.
That's such nonsense.
Important fact.
Ukraine has been a top five or six in the last 78 years, since 2014, recipient of U.S.
foreign aid for defense and security and armaments and weapons and bullets.
The number one recipient outside of the Mideast.
The top five are on the Mideast.
It's the only one outside the Mideast.
And it was expanded under Donald J. Trump.
Those are facts.
They said he was in Russia's pocket.
He was going to enable Putin's revanchism.
Meanwhile, that revanchism did not occur under Donald J. Trump.
He increased the aid, he gave them the armaments, and they run out nonsense when his own ambassador, Maria Yovanovitch, was trying to engage in a coup, create a narrative they can impeach him on.
So it is so ridiculous.
Putin is not stupid.
He is trying to cement his gains.
He got a gift because we're so feckless and because the American and the United Kingdom's administration need to wag the dog because of their domestic incompetence and their rolling over poll numbers.
Uh, so he, uh, he saw an opportunity.
He took his Crimea land bridge.
Mariupol has now fallen.
Uh, he's got the air, uh, the airfield on the, uh, Kiev side of Crimea is down.
He's hit all these other strategic sites.
If he really wanted to take over the whole country, he would have sent in 150,000 troops.
steve bannon
Hang on real quickly.
We're gonna get to all this.
Short break.
All right, Tierman, Harnwell, Cortez, all next in The War Room.
unidentified
War Room, pandemic with Stephen K.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room Pandemic.
Here's your host Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
Okay, MyPillow.com will announce a flash sale.
These are overstock items, as low as $29.99, as low as 73% off these colored sheets, Giza Dream Sheets.
Make sure, or Giza Sheets.
Actually, it is the Giza Dream Sheet.
Make sure you go there.
These are different colors.
They're in overstock.
This is a one-time good deal, up to 73% off, as low as $29.99.
MyPillow.com, promo code WORLD.
Of course, we've got everything for sleep.
You've got everything for cold.
These are like 50% off here, 50% off there.
Make sure you go there today, check it out, particularly the overstock items.
We're getting more on that later.
Let's go back.
Tierman, I've got Harnwell in Rome that we're going to talk about the capitals of Europe of how they're like, you know, it's all talk.
It's all talk why people in Ukraine get killed.
And we're not isolationist.
We want to take down the Chinese Communist Party and defend our southern border.
We're not isolationists at all, but we're not interventionists, okay?
We're not interventionists.
And the reason you see the most corrupt people in this country, the party of Davos, the elites, who have been using Ukraine as a colony to suck cash out of, Hunter Biden, the Clintons, they're all greaseballs, okay?
Hillary Clinton.
You know, she's sitting there all anxious on Morning Joe, and think how ridiculous this Biden administration is.
Morning Joe, the White House watches us, so tell us the arms you need.
How many more babies are you going to see killed like that?
Right?
Because the West is not coming to their aid.
They're not going to send troops there.
They're not going to defend Ukraine.
This is what Zelensky last night on national TV is sitting there going, you guys promised me.
You said you'd have our backs.
Where are you?
You've left us alone.
That was the headline of the Daily Mail.
You've left us alone.
Now today he comes on and says, I'm targeted.
I'm the number one target.
Where are all Zelensky's big buddies?
Who gave him all the happy talk?
Who gave him all the false hope?
Because the deplorables of the Ukraine are the ones that are going to pay for it.
They're the ones that got the Chechens and the Cossacks and the Tartars rolling in there for a fun day at the beach.
How do you think that's going to be?
How do you think that's going to play out?
That's also why no American boy and girl should be over there.
And right now they're all deploying over to... Look, this has been a killing zone from time immemorial.
Okay?
A killing field from time immemorial.
Not our fight.
This is the Eurasian... in the heart of the Eurasian landmass.
This is where Europe and Asia come together.
Not our fight.
Wasn't our fight in World War I. Wasn't our fight in World War II.
Not our neighborhood.
Not our fight.
And we are not isolationist, okay?
We know we've got to defend Taiwan to the death, essentially.
In the party of Davos, these corrupt people in Switzerland, and in Brussels, and in Paris, and in London, and in New York City, and in Washington D.C.
Grabbing with both hands, and shoving out the blood, the blood of the Ukrainians, and they want to shove out the blood and treasure of the deplorables.
Matthew Tierman, all this happy talk, they talk about elections, there was a Democratic, this latest version kicked off in 2014, Because there was a Democrat elected government as corrupt as it was but hey, no offense.
It is the Ukraine Okay, it was corrupt.
It was a puppet of Russia got all that but he was elected.
They had their own coup back in 14 That's what started this thing.
Is that not correct Matthew Tierman?
matthew tyrmand
That is spot-on first.
I just got to say, you know this I've lectured and Hector do about it before it's not the Ukraine It's Ukraine the Ukraine.
steve bannon
I said I say that I I say that on, I say that on, I use that specifically just to trigger the Ukraine.
matthew tyrmand
For the audience, the Ukraine denotes the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
It is not a Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
It is Ukraine.
We can argue about what regions of Ukraine are, you know, ethnically Russian versus Ukrainian versus Galician, but it is not a Soviet Socialist Republic.
But in 2014, they took to the Maidan, they took to the streets and they ejected Yanukovych, Putin's KGB era thug, who was a car thief from the age of 14, ends up as a president of the country.
The people got fed up.
They saw him getting DACA after DACA.
He had a menagerie of wild animals in one of his DACAs.
And they just said, enough is enough.
The people took the street.
They went to the buildings, the defense ministry.
They yanked these people out.
They brought on a democratic government and they elected Poroshenko, who turned out to be a corrupt chocolate oligarch.
You can't make this crap up.
And so he was corrupt.
So then in Democratic elections, they elected Zelensky.
And people don't remember Zelensky's history in our part of the world.
Zelensky was an actor who played the president of Ukraine on a sort of dark soap opera comedy, like a cross between the West Wing meets Veep.
And he played the president and they elected him.
And to be honest, he's been pretty good.
He cares about the country.
He cares about the sovereignty.
He cares about the cultural history.
And he does not seem to be corrupt.
And he's got a hit on him right now, these Chechen fighters that Putin has sent in, because he doesn't care as much about the Chechens as he cares about, say, the people from the suburbs of Moscow and Leningrad.
So he sends them in to hunt down his enemies list.
If they can get a few scalps, get a few skulls for their mantle of the Ukrainian government.
That's not an undesired outcome for him.
But ultimately, he's going into Kiev and this region in the capital to produce shock and awe.
To show them he can, and this is his chess move, then he will back off.
And the concession he wants is leave him alone on Crimea.
He's going to look for a another concession on further demilitarization of Ukraine.
And most importantly, a commitment that Ukraine will not join NATO, which for him, for his perspective is pretty reasonable.
He does not want, you know, NATO capabilities now closer to his border in his near abroad.
But one more thing.
And if he if they violate and they talk about going into NATO, he will then have the pretext So from a chess strategy, it's a highly intelligent move.
But he's not going to be taking down the whole of Ukraine.
He doesn't want it.
He can't afford it.
It would require guerrilla partisan warfare in the streets.
Too many little green men would be murdered and the protests across Russia would be crippling.
The sanctions financially, the Russian people would not be able to buy Apple iPhones anymore.
He'd have big problems on his hands.
So this is all a game of chess.
unidentified
I'll stop.
steve bannon
I'll hold calling it the Ukraine for right now.
Because I'll just refer to it as the near abroad.
I love that.
Okay, let's go to, stay right there, Matthew Tierman.
This is all brought on by the Party of Davos.
They gave false impressions and false hopes and false commitments, lied about their commitments to these people.
And now you're seeing it play in real time.
Let's go to Ben Harnwell.
We've got Steve Cortez on the on-deck circle with math about how this is going to impact your life, how it's affecting the world economy and the phoniness of the Biden regime.
Harnwell.
Morning Steve, morning Matthew.
of Europe, in particular the UK. I keep hearing, you know, oh we're united, NATO's more united than ever, these sanctions, everything like this, but then yesterday on MSNBC you had a guy sitting there saying we should sanction our allies because they're not stepping up enough. What is happening in Europe right now, sir?
ben harnwell
Morning, Steve. Morning, Matthew. Well, yes, Europe is actually quite united right now.
It's united in its desire to do nothing very much at all.
In fact, if you wanted a description of the current situation, I would put it like this.
Russia opens up a new theatre of war as Europe responds with war-like theatre.
Well, those are heavy words and how would I justify it?
Well, here's how you know that Europe is engaging in optics.
European leaders won't risk their own country's access to Russian energy.
And that's exactly what would happen if the European Union were to follow through on what you discussed with Eric Prince three or so days ago, which is expelling Russia from the SWIFT, International Banking Network.
And the reason that they won't do that is because, as I say, they want access to Russian energy.
Here's what happened today. Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, made a public call, and in fact his foreign secretary Liz Truss is now jet-setting across the various capitals of the world to rally support for the British government's call to expel Russia from SWIFT, which, lest we forget, in 2014, when that was mooted, when Russia invaded the Crimea, Russia responded that expelling them from SWIFT is tantamount to an act of war.
That's what Boris Johnson has called for.
It doesn't look like it's going to happen.
Why?
Because two governments in particular have lobbied and apparently succeeded in preventing the European Union from adding its Basically, the essential and weight-carrying voice behind this.
Which of those two capitals?
Well, it's here in Rome and Berlin in Germany.
Why are they opposed to expelling Russia from the Swiss banking system?
Well, it's quite simple.
It's to do with energy security, or the lack thereof.
Russia here, excuse me, Italy here, imports of its total gas consumption, domestic consumption, It basically makes up about 40% of that, 40.3% of that, from gas supplies in from Russia.
Germany is in an even more precarious situation, where Germany depends on Russia for 57% of its domestic gas consumption.
So obviously, if Russia were to be expelled from the SWIFT system, there's no Obviously immediate means of exchanging cash in return for the incoming gas.
And that is why Rome and Berlin are objecting to the expulsion.
What that actually means, the reason why I said that this is simply theatre, what that means is whatever the European capitals are going to do, they do not want to jeopardise their access to Russian gas, which they're expecting to continue.
So that is how I say this is simply theatre.
The sanctions are simply theatre.
It's an act.
steve bannon
Okay, real quickly, Boris Johnson, the reason Boris Johnson and Joe Biden are moving so quickly on this or trying to generate even more theater are massive domestic problems.
Johnson just ripped off, just did away with all the restrictions on COVID now that his polling numbers collapsed because he's been caught lying to people and being a hypocrite.
Is this the same thing with Ukraine?
Is this a wag the dog situation in the UK?
You got 30 seconds.
ben harnwell
It is undoubtedly a wag the dog situation.
But that doesn't mean that the British government's policy position with regards to Russia right now is simple distraction.
It can be two things.
It can be two separate things at the same time.
steve bannon
Ben, real quickly, how do people follow you?
You're putting stuff up on Getter all day.
It's like the AP wire service.
How do people follow you?
ben harnwell
Thanks very much, Steve.
Getter at Parnwell.
Parnwell, which is my surname.
steve bannon
Ben Harnwell.
H-A-R-N-W-E-L-L.
Make sure you go there.
It's amazing.
Thank you, Ben.
Live from Rome.
Okay, short commercial break.
Eric Greitens and Steve Cortez, Matthew Tierman.
All next with Bill Gertz in the War Room.
unidentified
War Room.
Pandemic.
With Stephen K. Banham.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
Okay, the fight is about Russia's near abroad in Ukraine, or the Ukraine, whatever your preference is.
Let's go to Eric Greitens.
Eric, you're a former Navy SEAL commander.
Give us your take on this reckless Biden administration and the entire party of Davos, NATO, the Brussels, the European Union.
They gave false hope to the hard-working and good folks in Ukraine.
eric greitens
Yeah, Steve, what everyone is seeing, you've already touched on it, it is a result of Joe Biden's policy of weakness.
And it's a policy of weakness that goes back to day one of his administration when he killed the Keystone XL pipeline.
Under President Trump's policy of peace through strength, we not only put an end to endless wars overseas, we not only killed folks like the Iranian butcher Qasem Soleimani, Not only did we have historic peace deals like the Abraham Accords, but President Trump also got us to a place of American energy independence.
And what happened?
Joe Biden came in and immediately launched an assault on America's energy independence.
And then the whole world watched Joe Biden's reckless, senile incompetence in Afghanistan.
And when everyone saw that, people around the world, our friends and our adversaries all realized that Joe Biden was weak and he couldn't be counted on.
And that's why you see all of this aggression happening right now.
It's because of Biden's weakness.
steve bannon
How do you think this administration tries to get out of this?
Because right now Zelensky's on TV last night saying, you guys have promised all this stuff and you've left me alone.
This is another debacle of American foreign policy.
The commitments should have never been made because you're never going to be able to stand up to them.
What is Biden's next move?
eric greitens
Well, look, all we've seen from Biden is weakness and incompetence.
I hope that he doesn't send America's sons and daughters into another bloody war.
We just had in Afghanistan, American Marines killed, one of them from Missouri, just down the street.
Jared Schmitz killed because of Biden's incompetence.
And it disgusts me to watch all of these people who've never served, who've never been on the front lines, who've never been willing to put their lives on the line for the country, wanting to send the sons and daughters of Potosi, Missouri and Springfield, Missouri, into another endless war.
The fact is, because of Biden's incompetence, we're seeing this aggression because of his weakness.
Our friends know that they cannot count on the Biden administration.
And right now, we need to all of us recognize that stolen elections have massive consequences, not just here at home, but for people across the world.
steve bannon
Eric, how can people find out more about your campaign?
I know you're down at CPAC right now, but how do people get to you?
eric greitens
Yeah, Steve, we'd love all of the patriots who are listening right now to come out and join us.
We're at ericgritens.com.
E-R-I-C-G-R-E-I-T-E-N-S dot com.
I'm the America first candidate in this race.
President Trump's pollster has us up 30 points.
We're going to take the Republic back and go back to Trump's policies of peace through strength.
steve bannon
Eric Greitens, Commander Greitens, thank you very much for joining us in the War Room.
I want to thank Real America's Voice, got a massive presence down there.
That's their studio that Eric was able to slip into, so I want to thank the Real America Voice guys.
Before I go to Steve Cortez, the great Steve Cortez is going to contextualize this with a math about how it's going to impact your personal life, this fiasco.
Matthew Tierman, your theory of the case, and people should know, Tierman knows this neighborhood, he's like Posobiec, they know this neighborhood pretty well.
Because, number one, Matthew Tierman's father was one of the great anti-communists in Polish history.
You're saying, your theory of the case is Putin is doing this for leverage, leverage for the land bridge, the Crimea, Crimea is the jewel in the crown for him in that part of the world.
Will Kiev, yes that's Kiev, will Kiev fall today to the Russian advance guard, sir?
matthew tyrmand
You know, the Chechens that Putin has sent in find Zelensky, who's obviously the high-value target, and the Chechens, he's managed, they're, you know, a wild dog of a people within the Russian sphere, and he brought them to heel, and now they're working for him, and they might want to take Zelensky's scalp, which would open up a whole new bag of problems for Putin, to be honest.
It'd be a bit of an overshoot.
The shock and awe that they've brought on sending missiles into every facility where there are planes, where there are radar detectors, where there are comms equipment, that is all for leverage.
All he wants right now is the Crimean Lambridge.
He didn't even think he'd be able to get that.
He figured he could, you know, play around with Luhansk and Donbass, test the waters and go for that soon, but given the weakness and the pathetic, you know, level of response from the West, you know, color your Capitol buildings in blue and yellow, but that's about it.
As Ben Harnwell pointed out on Real Sanctions, that's not really going to happen.
He's getting it.
He's going to take it now, and that's what he wants.
They've been fighting for Crimea back and forth for 400 years.
It is one of the most strategic points in Central and Eastern Europe into Asia.
You made a point before about Ukraine and the savagery of it.
This whole region of Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Western Russia, this has been called the Bloodlands for 500 years for a reason.
And there's been a constant dispute.
I do just want to throw in one point, a little bit of a deviation.
Eric Reitens, Missouri.
Josh Mandel, Ohio.
We're going from zero Jewish Republicans to two Jewish Republicans next January from the heartland.
I'm excited about that.
steve bannon
Two pretty tough hombres, too.
unidentified
Two ex-military guys.
steve bannon
Two ex-military guys.
One Marine and one Navy SEAL.
Also, I'm going to go to Cortez right now.
I want to make sure people understand, we say Chechens.
I made a film with Michael Pack the last 600 meters about the battles of Fallujah, Najaf, and Second Fallujah.
In the Second Fallujah, the United States Marines that took it door-by-door, street-by-street, house-by-house, will tell you, the hardest guys they fought, because that was a gathering of every bad guy in Iraq, were the Chechens.
They said the Chechens were a whole other level of brutal, right?
So the Chechens are, and remember, Putin brought these guys to hell, now he's unleashed them, On to the Ukraine people.
Where's Joe Biden?
Where's Morning Mika?
By the way, Morning Mika, your father would be ashamed of your thinking and what you're promoting and getting people killed here.
Okay?
Slaughter.
You know, Zigbee Brzezinski was a very, very smart guy and actually, I think, ten times smarter than Kissinger.
We'll get to all that at another day and another time.
I digress.
I want to go to Cortez.
The bloodlines right there, Steve.
Now the party of Davos is giving all these false promises.
You've got the President sitting there going, where are you?
On national TV, where are you?
You've left me alone.
And now he's the number one target.
This is already starting to ripple through the world economy.
But Biden, it's not just wag the dog, it's wag the market.
Steve Kortes.
steve cortes
That's correct, and you're so right.
The party of Davos completely deluded the Ukrainian people, right?
Convinced them of a fantasy that they were going to be a full member of NATO, which was never going to happen, so that they took an unnecessarily confrontational stance with a very malicious and lethal neighbor right next door, and we're seeing the results.
But the economic risks rise dramatically right now, too, and it's not so much because of the invasion of Ukraine, although that certainly is important.
But Steve, often we have to see through.
The obvious risk is not the greatest risk.
It's often the second order, the derivative risk.
And in this case, that is Taiwan.
And let me explain, you know, exactly what I mean there.
Because I think the biggest news of recent weeks is not actually the attack, Russia's attack on Ukraine.
That's huge news.
But to me, the bigger news is the emerging axis of Beijing and Moscow into a very close economic and security alliance.
And the economic risks That that presents to the United States and to everyone out there in the audience.
But first, you know, I just want to again dispel this ridiculous rumor, this ridiculous narrative out there that the inflation we're seeing in this country is because of Putin or because of the Ukraine situation.
Inflation, of course, has been building massively in this country for an entire year under Joe Biden.
A lot of Americans know that.
I have a chart here to show on polling from Quinnipiac, and they asked, and this was two weeks ago, by the way, before things really got hot, What is the number one most urgent issue facing America?
Far and away, number one was inflation.
27% more than twice any other issue.
Immigration coming in at number two.
I still believe in the two I's.
Inflation and immigration.
Those are the two issues for America First to triumph.
This fall, but inflation is dominating people's psyches because they deal with it every single day.
Now let's go to another chart here on wheat futures.
This got a lot of attention the last couple of days.
Ukraine, major wheat producer, and so wheat vaulted higher, as you can see at the very right-hand side of that chart.
But the important thing I want to point out here, Steve, this chart goes back to Joe Biden's illegitimate Prevailing in November 3rd of 2020, wheat has been soaring ever since then, like almost every physical commodity on earth.
So do not allow the media narrative, do not allow the beard to work that this Ukraine situation is what has caused this inflation.
And I'll tell you one reason why wheat's been soaring forever.
If we go to the next chart, this is a chart of fertilizer.
Fertilizer, the key component of fertilizer is petroleum.
We had stable, dominant American energy under Donald Trump.
That chart goes back five years and you see low, stable, fertilizer prices.
Once Joe Biden illegitimately prevails in November of 2020, fertilizer absolutely explodes higher.
So it's likely to get a lot worse before it gets better.
But now let's get to Taiwan, Steve, because I think this is the most important part of the argument.
Because of this emerging axis of Beijing and Moscow, they are increasingly emboldened in the Chinese Communist Party, that they can finally make a move on Taiwan, that they have a weak leader in the White House, that they have a West that frankly is unwilling to even take serious action against Moscow right now.
And therefore, that this may be their window, may well be ripe for the taking to attack Taiwan.
Now, let's look at some of the market aspects here.
Taiwan Semiconductor, which is one of the biggest companies in the world, $580 billion market cap, over 50,000 employees.
Taiwan, of course, is the absolute epicenter of chip production, not just for the United States, but for the entire world.
And if we look at that chart of Taiwan Semiconductor, TSM is the ticker traded here in the United States, even though it's a Taiwanese company.
It is already, as of yesterday, Officially in a bear market, meaning it has declined over 20% from the high that it reached just five weeks ago.
It was at 145.
It's at 110 right now as we speak.
It hit 104 yesterday at the lows of the day.
I believe the Taiwan semiconductor is a lead indicator telling us that the risks for Taiwan are rising dramatically.
And if Taiwan ...becomes a fight.
If it becomes hot, it will make the Ukraine situation look tame by comparison, Steve, because Taiwan is so integral to our economic lives.
It is so critical for automobile production, for appliances, for all manner of technology.
This is a whole order of magnitude greater and riskier than the situation right now in Ukraine, which, let's face it, is economically fairly irrelevant to the United States.
steve bannon
By the way, it's Silicon Valley West.
Hold right there, Cortez.
We're going to bring Bill Gertz in a minute, but I got to get to Tierman.
Tierman, how did the party at Davos and how did the United States under Joe Biden actually force Putin into the arms of Xi?
So now they've got a working partnership.
I think we're supposed to talk today.
Matthew Tierman got about a minute.
matthew tyrmand
It was it was clear from the beginning they needed an enemy.
Yes, we should have been trying to mend fences.
We're never going to be, you know, brother-sister relations with Russia.
It is still a post-communist thug kleptocracy that is laundering money in all of our global capitals.
But, you know, this is realpolitik.
You know, you bashed Kissinger a little bit, but his concept of realpolitik holds.
It's realpolitik.
We do not need to appreciate the morality of the leadership of geopolitical players.
to have to work with them in a pragmatic way and by making them an enemy.
And they did it just to undermine Donald Trump.
They created this false narrative.
They memory holds all of the money that Bill Clinton pocketed from Renaissance and VTB and all the Russian banks for speaking engagements.
And they turned the Russian Steele dossier and all this other non-fantasy nonsense into their attempted coup creation.
When we come back, I just saw a video of what's going on in Kiev on the ground.
I gotta tell your audience.
steve bannon
Okay, just hang on.
Maybe we get that video.
Short break.
Gertz is going to join us.
Cortez, Matthew Terman of Berlin.
Cortez, here in the States.

Okay, make sure you go there today.
Okay, I want to bring in, we got Matthew Tierman in Berlin.
We got Steve Cortes here with his analysis.
Real quickly before I bring in Gertz, and let's get Gertz booted up.
Tierman, we're going to get this video up in a minute you just gave us.
It's these half-tracks, army half-tracks with boxes of grenades.
Boxes of grenades, and it looks like Ukrainian civilians are loading up, putting them in their pockets.
These guys, we have the video?
Denver, if you can please play it.
I'd like to play the video and then have Tierman comment.
unidentified
F**k, look what's going on in Obolon, f**k, f**k. The whole Obolon, f**k, all the men, f**k, are gathering, f**k, look how everything will be.
Come, come, we will meet you all.
Without, even without documents.
Come and protect your state of Ukraine.
Come and protect your state, Ukraine.
Glory to Ukraine.
steve bannon
Okay, you saw right there they're handing out the grenades.
Matthew, I've got it.
Look, as much as I admire their patriotism and their courage, they've been misled by the party of Davos.
They've been misled by Brussels.
They've been misled by London.
They've been particularly misled by Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton.
All these people have been stealing, you know, Hunter Biden's been stealing with both hands out of there.
Hillary Clinton's stealing with both hands.
Is this a fool's errand?
Is this just more people are going to get killed and Putin's going to get Kiev?
He's going to have his negotiating leverage?
Matthew Terman?
matthew tyrmand
I think eventually he gets his negotiating leverage, but, you know, the Slavic soul is about fighting to defend your homeland.
And the Zelensky government has committed every male from 17 years old to 70 years old, if they want an AK-47, if they want light arms, if they want to defend Kiev, if they want to defend their country, they are going to have that opportunity.
One of my very close friends in Ukraine is the youngest member of parliament.
His name is Fyodoslav Yurash.
He is on patrol right now with a rifle walking the streets of Kiev.
They will defend their women.
They will defend their country.
They will defend their city.
And to be honest, I find that to be highly admirable.
They're channeling their Hemingway and hopefully they don't, you know, end like Hemingway.
But, you know, I've got videos that show tanks are coming into the outskirts of Kiev.
One tank ran over a car with people in it.
Looks like by accident.
Civilians are going to get killed.
Their view is let's take out as many Russians as we can in that process, which I think is rational.
steve bannon
It's not called the Bloodlands.
I think it is rational in a Slavic sense.
Okay, let's go to Bill Gertz.
The real play here is China and the Chinese Communist Party.
Cortez just teed it up.
And Steve, I thought what you said was brilliant.
That a proxy for how this thing's going is a Taiwan semiconductor.
Keep your eye on that stock.
Not as an investment opportunity or short.
Keep it on there as a proxy for what's really going on, what the smart money feels is going on in the defense of Taiwan.
We understand Xi and Putin are supposed to talk today.
Bill Gertz, you're the top analyst in this field.
Washington Times, you've been on this beat for, what, 30 years plus?
Walk us through what's happening today.
bill gertz
Well, Taiwan has announced that they're going to follow the sanctions on Russia, which means that they're going to cut off transfers of semiconductors on there.
On the bigger strategic picture, Xi Jinping is real happy about this because the invasion of Ukraine takes the heat off China, which again is very isolated in the world, is a global threat that people are recognizing.
So Xi is feeling a little bit of relief.
He's watching very closely how it plays out because he wants Taiwan and he could use the same pattern, issue a declaration and say we're taking over Taiwan now and then start with a few outer islands and then move on the main island.
Things are very dicey here.
The United States miscalculated in announcing that no U.S.
troops.
This was Biden's fault.
First Afghanistan, then he said we're not going to send any troops, even if that's the right thing to say.
He should never have telegraphed that publicly because it was a green light for Putin to launch troops into Ukraine.
steve bannon
What about, tell us what Biden right now, we got two carrier battle groups, I think, in the Straits of Taiwan, in the South China Sea.
What else do you see the U.S.
doing right now to defend the all-important Silicon Valley, West Taiwan?
bill gertz
Well, I think the most significant elements happened a couple of months ago when you had both Japan and Australia announce publicly that they would join the United States in a defense of Taiwan.
I think that was extremely significant because it basically put China on notice that they're facing a world war if they move on Taiwan.
And of course, the Indo-Pacom commanders, both the outgoing Davidson and Current one Aquilino have said it's only a matter of time before China takes Taiwan or moves on Taiwan.
So things are definitely dicey.
Yesterday, nine Chinese warplanes went into the air defense identification zone of Taiwan.
So already they're sending a signal there.
These provocative flights have been going on for months.
China is preparing the battle space for some type of action against Taiwan in the near future.
steve bannon
I want you to hang on through the break.
Here's a question.
In Ukraine, you've got these eastern provinces that are Russian-speaking.
He's saying, hey, they're breakaway provinces, we're going to recognize them and go in as peacekeeping troops.
What are the issues in Taiwan?
And you answer this on the other side, because I also want to tee it up.
One of the issues in Taiwan, we just had the presidential race, and Chiang Kai-shek's former party is kind of a running dog now for the CCP.
You have massive infiltration already in Taiwan, so my question would come back to you.
What percentage of Taiwan are going to say, hey, we really are a Chinese province, we've really got to reunite with the motherland, and how much are we really going to stand up?
If the throwdown comes from the Chinese.
Because remember, the Chinese are not going to be stupid about how they do this.
They're not going to be stupid about how they do this.
So Bill Gertz from the Washington Times.
We've got Steve Cortez.
We've got Matthew Tierman in Berlin.
We've got a whole host of people coming on in the second hour.
Rebecca Koffler, the author of the biography, this new biography of Putin, is going to join us.
We've got Peter Navarro.
We've got Boris Epstein.
We've got Joe Reek.
