miserable inflation data point this morning, CPI at 40 year record 7.5% year over year. We talk a lot about the physical commodity price increases in food and energy and they're crucial. But let's also talk about rents because for a lot of people that's even more important and housing prices have been surging in this country, particularly for those who have been priced out of So, ApartmentList.com rental price increases year over year.
2018-2019, with the economy humming pre-pandemic, rents were going up, but in a very tame manner, 3% and 2%.
In 2020, with the lockdowns, not surprisingly, rental costs went down, but slightly down 1%.
2021, the first year of Joe Biden and his inflation explosion, up 18% for the year.
Now, let's put that in dollar terms.
That means that the median rent in America for an apartment is just over $1,300.
If we had stayed at pre-pandemic trend of low single-digit percentage increases, That number would be $120 lower per month, meaning Joe Biden and his policies are costing you over $100 extra in rent every single month.
And rental prices tend to be sticky, meaning once they go up, they do not go back down.
So it is the opposite of transitory.
Biden is crushing prosperity in this country.
unidentified
Okay, this is what we do on the show.
We just don't want to take a top-line number, because that's what you're going to hear in the rest of the media all day.
We want to get down to break it down and see what the drivers of this disaster are, and then come up with policy solutions to turn it around.
Here's one thing I want to say.
I'm going to flip it back over to Cortez, who I think is one of the smartest guys out there breaking this down.
What Cortez has said is so powerful, and quite frankly, I don't think we've got enough traction that we have to.
If Biden had just done, when he illegitimately came into the White House, exactly what he'd done on that farce of a campaign where they hit him in the basement, and that joke of an inauguration when nine people showed up, if he had just done nothing, if he had just taken with Trump the great golden year of 2019, but even in the inferno of 2020, What Trump had done, if he had just taken the baton and done nothing, we wouldn't be in this jam.
And ladies and gentlemen, we're in a jam right now.
And Cortez, and Biden is in a corner.
He doesn't have many easy solutions.
So Steve Cortez, you've got some charts.
Let's walk through it.
Then I want to talk about solutions.
steve cortes
And listen, Biden certainly is in a corner again.
You don't have to take our word for it.
Look at the polling out there.
YouGov, not known as a right-wing organization, just came out with a poll yesterday that showed Joe Biden 20 points underwater on approval.
34 versus 54.
Only 34 percent approved.
On the question of is he a strong leader, he is 30 percentage points underwater.
28 versus 58.
And the reason why, in large part, By the way, I think the two I's in Arrington, the candidate who you had on earlier, is exactly right.
She nailed it.
It's the two I's.
It's inflation and immigration.
Those are the two issues that I believe are going to decide the upcoming elections in 2022.
They are the two most pressing issues for Americans, and I encourage all candidates out there, don't major in the minors.
Focus on the two I's, inflation and immigration.
Now, regarding inflation, Steve, A lot of the corporate media, because they're lazy, they're only going to report the headline number, and they'll only focus on the most obvious aspects of inflation, which are the commodity price increases.
And those are absolutely material, and they're really, really important.
But as I pointed out in my Chalk Talk, for a lot of folks, the rent is even more important right now.
And here's what's more worrisome, Steve, about those rental price increases.
Is that rents are sticky?
And what I mean by that is when rents go up, they do not tend to go back down.
They very rarely do, whereas food and energy can be volatile.
Now, one of the main reasons rents are going up so aggressively right now, massive spikes in rents across America, which punish, again, middle and lower income people the most.
is because of what's happening in interest rates.
Today, interest rates hit on the 10-year Treasury yield hit 2%, something you and I talked about weeks ago that we predicted was going to happen.
Sure enough, it has happened today.
And again, this is a created crisis because of Joe Biden.
Now, let's talk about some of the fallout from this, though.
All right, so it's terrible for consumers.
Well, what's bad for consumers is generally bad for small business.
So what we're showing there on the chart is the National Federation of Independent Business, largest organization in America representing small businesses across the country.
They do an index every month.
And to your point of the handoff from Donald Trump, To the absolute bungling of Joe Biden.
Again, don't take my word for it.
Look at the numbers.
Look at the data here.
Look at the ascendance as we were soaring out of the lockdown, spring 2020 lockdown lows.
Small business was gaining in confidence every month.
According to this NFIB survey.
And by the way, previously, before the pandemic, it hit an all-time high during Donald Trump's presidency.
Not too surprising.
But now, look at the trajectory on the other side, as it rolls over and heads lower to an 11-month low, unfortunately.
Because, why?
Because small business in general, right, they are the consumers of those goods that are inflating.
They cannot pass the full price along, unfortunately, to their customers, right?
In general, who benefits from an inflationary environment?
Who are the producers of these commodities, particularly when it comes to food and energy?
It's giant agribusiness conglomerates and it's multinational energy firms.
They benefit from But Main Street gets crushed.
And by the way, one of the ways in which Main Street gets crushed, and this is just anecdotal, but let's look at coffee prices.
You know, Steve, listen, I'm a Colombian.
I cannot start my day without some java in the morning, without some cafefe to start the day.
Coffee prices just hit a decade plus high.
And if you look at, you know, and I mark on the chart there, the illegitimate election of Joe Biden.
Again, this isn't just bad luck.
This isn't bad weather in Colombia or Brazil.
This is a created crisis of inflation because of Biden's, primarily because of his exorbitant borrowing and spending, also secondarily because of his war on American energy and his onerous workplace mandates.
unidentified
Steve, we've talked, you and I have talked offline, that he's jammed up now and the Fed's jammed up.
Walk the audience through, you've been so great at predicting things.
Walk, what are they thinking over there, what are Powell and the Fed thinking about when they see these numbers today?
Because, remember, the Fed, two things happen.
Number one, the Fed did not believe, they thought this was transitory, not systemic.
Mistake number one.
Number two, the Bidens, with the collaborators of the Republican Party, passed a $1.9 trillion spending bill, the American Recovery Act, that threw NAPOM on this.
What is the thinking now of what are their alternatives to get out of this, none of which are easy or pleasant?
steve cortes
Right.
No, listen, that's the problem now.
There are no good options.
There just are not.
And so the Fed faces really tough choices.
Now, I don't feel badly for them because they created this scenario.
So it is totally self-inflicted.
And by the way, Steve, regarding the Fed, I hope it's a mistake.
I actually kind of suspect otherwise.
I think they knew that this wasn't transitory and they just lied.
I mean, I'm that cynical.
What the Fed is primarily about is not the prosperity of the American people, but protecting the prerogatives and the institutional power of the Fed, okay?
And that's true of almost every arm of the federal government, but I think more so the Fed than other institutions.
I think Powell particularly wanted to be reappointed.
He needed Biden to reappoint him.
He needed to get confirmed.
And so he simply went with the Washington party line that seemed expedient at the time that Oh, don't worry about this.
You know, this is just transitory.
If I ever hear that word again, Steve, by the way, from any policymaker in Washington, D.C., I think I'm going to scream.
I mean, think about the macro lies that we have been told over and over by the ruling class of this country, by Washington bureaucrats, by business elites, by the corporate media, from the Russia hoax to this vaccine will keep you from acquiring or transmitting the virus to now this inflation that you're dealing with.
It's only transitory.
And by the way, those are just three examples.
Now, those are three very grand lies, but those are just three examples of the massive lies that our supposed betters insist on thrusting upon the American people.
But to get to the crux of, well, what can the Fed do now?
They have no choice if they want to be responsible.
The American people cannot handle Steve, this is insane.
This is the kind of stuff that you see in third world economies.
It is only a matter of time in this country, in my opinion, if we continue with this kind of inflation that we're going to actually start to see some societal chaos because of it.
And don't think that that cannot happen.
If we look historically, some very stable, very successful countries devolve very quickly once they see the onset of serious systemic inflation.
Look at Argentina, which at one point was wealthier than the United States.
And then, you know, over a century ago, then saw systemic inflation, then the rise of fascism there, and has been basically an economic basket case ever since.
Of course, Nazi Germany would be the worst example after the Weimar Republic of what happened.
But there are examples all over the world of what inflation can do to a country.
So if the Fed is going to be responsible, and I pray it will be, It has to start raising interest rates.
Unfortunately, that's just the reality.
It has to start raising interest rates right now.
Now, it's a terrible time to raise interest rates because the economy is decelerating.
So, I think we're headed towards a recession anyway.
If the Fed does the right thing, it's probably going to hasten that recession.
But because of what we have done, Because of the profligacy, the insane spending of Joe Biden, because of the, you know, complete dereliction of duty of monetary policy by the Federal Reserve, there are no good options right now.
So either the American people are going to continue to suffer these high prices, and again, I think we risk at least political and economic Instability, if not actually societal instability, or they're going to start raising interest rates to start normalizing.
By the way, when I say raising interest rates, that's just getting back to zero, basically, because they are still right now stimulating the Fed.
They are still buying bonds at a lesser pace, but they are still pouring money into the system.
So get back to at least normalization.
Try to get these prices under control.
Then on the policy side, Steve, we need to elect not just a Republican Congress, but America first Republican Congress.
And then, of course, elect a president in 2024.
I hope it will be Donald Trump, but whoever it is, an America First commander-in-chief who will do a few things.
Number one, insist on onshoring.
That process was happening pre-pandemic.
It needs to accelerate from January 20th of 2025 onward.
And how do we do that?
Well, we do onshore.
We do it through number one, creating the right conditions here to try to stimulate and encourage companies to come here.
But number two, it's a carrot and the stick.
The stick to punish companies who offshore with significant tariffs, with massive taxation upon profits that are earned overseas.
So onshoring, restrict immigration.
I believe a pause in moratorium and even legal immigration would be a huge step forward toward raising the wages of American workers.
And that's how we then That's how we grow out of this economic quagmire that we find ourselves in.
So unfortunately, Steve, there are not easy solutions.
You know, that's the problem when you've gone on a bender.
Sometimes it's hard to fix the damage that has been wrought.
That is the case right now economically.
But we have to fix it.
We have to identify the problem, but we can't just curse the darkness.
We also have to light that candle economically.
And in terms of policy, you know, how do we get out of this mess?
But make no mistake, Steve, it is a mess right now economically.
unidentified
Yeah, and all they talk about is the big jobs numbers, all this phony stuff driven by the spending.
You and Navarro are the first two guys to call stagflation on the first day of this illegitimate regime's time here in control.
Are you saying now you foresee that we're going to go past stagflation to a recession?
steve cortes
I do.
That is correct.
So listen, I take no pleasure in being correct on some of these predictions, right?
I did not want to see 10-year yield at 2%.
I believe crude oil, by the way, is going to go over $100.
We certainly have gotten close.
You know, I take no pleasure in being right in some of these predictions.
Certainly, I think Navarro and I were correct at the very beginning of Biden's administration when he said his economic plan And unfortunately, Nancy and Chuck on Capitol Hill are all too willing to play ball, but so is Mitch.
Again, we can't let the Republicans off the hook here.
Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, the collaborators among us, right?
The people who call themselves Republicans, who pretend to be America first when they think it suits them.
This budget explosion, this exorbitant spending and borrowing could not happen without collaborators.
All of that, the confluence of all those factors created the stagflation that Navarro and I talked about, and I'm going a step further now.
I'm saying we are already starting to tip into recession, and I fear it may be a deep recession because we haven't seen an inflationary recession in the United States since the 1970s.
unidentified
This is what, all this inflation, 40, 50 years old.
Okay.
Shelby and Leahy up right now having a group hug.
You're going to come back with more spending.
It's going to be a fiasco.
Also, the structure of our economy is built upon zero negative interest rates.
You start jacking these rates up, the system is not even ready for that.
Steve Cortes, how do people get to you?
How do they follow you?
Your chalk talks are amazing.
How do they get more information about Cortes and his thinking on the economy?
steve cortes
Thank you, Admiral Bannon.
Yes, please follow me on The Getter, the free speech platform.
I'm just simply at Steve.
And over at Twitter, until they kick me out, I'm at Cortez, Steve Cortez with an S.
unidentified
Boy, Getter had another, Twitter, speaking of Twitter, had another terrible earnings report today.
And here's the scam, Cortez, you've seen.
They announced a $4 billion, keep the stock from cratering, a $4 billion stock buyback.
Wall Street's oldest scam, right?
Oldest scam.
To prop up, they would lose, the stuff would be cratering.
Cortez, thank you very much for joining us.
Thank you very much for your analysis on everything related to the inflation.
Okay, we've got, coming up, we've got Darren Beattie and Ken Cuccinelli back-to-back on talk about the domestic terrorism of this Homeland Security.
But first, we're going to get to Eric Greitens.
Eric Greitens in Missouri is going to talk to us about this filibuster.
are all next in the war room.
Everything's begun and you are over.
Cause we're taking down the CCP.
Spread the word all through Hong Kong.
We will fight till they're all gone.
We rejoice when there's no more.
Let's take down the CCP.
They have all lied for too long.
Pandemic with Stephen K. Bannon.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room. Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
you.
MyPillow.com, you got the annual sleep sale, everything to do with sleep, toppers, sleep systems, mattresses, pillows, all of it 50% off.
And of course, Giza Dream Sheets, one-time good deal, 60% off, as low as $39.99.
Make sure you go there today and do that.
Also he's got an overstock issue because he's been running around the country trying to save us getting to the bottom of 3 November.
50% off.
Support the great American manufacturing company that is my pillow.
Of course the armor-piercing shell is Mike Lindell and your humble servants here at the War Room Apparatus.
I want to get a quick update.
We're going to get into more detail later, but to show you the power of this audience and the great patriots.
There's a big ol' fight in Missouri right now about this redistricting.
And we got great news out of Kansas last night.
We'll get you more details tonight.
But folks are putting their shoulder to the wheel like they did in Tennessee.
We got Eric Greitens who's running for the Senate out there.
Eric, I know we only got you by phone for a few minutes because you're running around a bunch of meetings.
Just give us a quick update of what's going on in Missouri and what the patriots in the War Room policy need to do to have your guys back.
Well, a quick update is that the War Room Patriots are making a difference.
So remember the mission.
Right now we have a group of rhinos who are working with Democrats to pass a Nancy Pelosi map in the state of Missouri.
The state of Missouri is in America.
First state is the pro-Trump state.
We have eight congressmen.
We should have a seven to one map.
But instead, you had a group of rhinos sell out the people of Missouri and sell out the people of America by working with Democrats to pass a 5-3-6-2 map.
This would give Nancy Pelosi at least one, maybe two congressional seats.
And we need those congressional seats to fight the left's tyranny.
Well, the good news?
Courage is contagious.
We came out here on the war room.
We talked about the fight.
And people have poured in their calls to Senator Bob Onder, who is courageously leading the filibuster right now in the state of Missouri.
He's about to get on the floor again.
They've been going now for four days.
So what we need the war room posse to do is tell all these members of the conservative caucus Who are standing strong for the filibuster, that you've got their back, that you appreciate them, that you support them, and that let all of the RINOs in Missouri Republican Senate leadership know that you are watching them, that we're going to send RINOs home, and that they need to be on the side of President Trump and America First and pass a 7 to 1 map.
No more RINO maps.
We're not working for Nancy Pelosi.
Okay, let's get all these numbers up.
The numbers are up right now.
Eric, we'll have you back on if not tonight, we'll have you on tomorrow morning.
I know you gotta go.
Great update.
This audience, let's plow into this right now.
This is happening live in Missouri.
Let's have the back of these heroes out there, these patriots, like you guys had the back of the folks in Tennessee.
This is how we're gonna win.
Eric, real quickly, how do people get to your site?
How do they follow you?
Yeah, absolutely.
Love to have folks come out and join us in this fight.
To take back the country, we're at ericgritens.com.
E-R-I-C-G-R-E-I-T-E-N-S dot com.
Come out, sign up for our newsletter.
We're going to take our republic back.
Eric, thank you very much, and thank you for leading this fight out there in Missouri.
Senator Bob Onder, I want to make sure everybody gets there to tell him appreciation.
They're doing this filibuster right now, live.
Thank you so much, Eric.
You bet, brother.
Thank you.
Okay, I want to go to Darren Beatty.
We talked the other day about this outrageous, with everything going on in the world right now, the number one focus of the Department of Homeland Security is you, this audience.
You're a domestic terrorist.
I want to bring in Darren Beatty, who did a great analysis, and then we've got Ken Cuccinelli next.
Ken's going to walk us through this, plus this whole issue of this compact on the border to stop the invasion of the United States.
Darren, you did, I want to get the piece up.
Let's bring in Darren Beattie, but I want to, if we can split screen, get this great piece you had up in Revolver, and this is why people have to go to Revolver.
Just take us, walk us through your analysis of what this said and what's your interpretation of it, sir.
darren j beattie
Yes, this piece fresh off the press to really relay the latest outrage from the national security state, this time from the Department of Homeland Security.
The department set up in the aftermath of 9-11 to protect Americans from major terrorist attacks.
They released a statement indicating that there's an elevated threat level.
What possibly could it be?
Well, the threat level is from a heightened threat environment fueled by an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives.
This is what the Department of Homeland Security is doing these days.
This is the Ministry of Troops.
It's disinformation, misinformation related to COVID and of course election integrity that they're freaking out about that we should be worried about.
They're in particular worried that such misleading narratives could sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S.
government institutions.
So here we have a 90 billion annual budget national security behemoth.
It's doing the American people the good favor of warning them of the elevated terrorist threat because, God forbid, Americans are starting to wake up and question American government institutions like the DHS. It gets even better.
Another source of the elevated threat risk is, oh no, they're starting to lift the COVID restrictions.
The fact that the American people were essentially locked down for the greater part of two years, the economy destroyed unnecessarily.
The very hint that some of these restrictions could be lifted, believe it or not, according to the Department of Homeland Security, constitutes an elevated terror threat.
Because if the American people, God forbid, are allowed to leave their houses without government permission, that could lead to a terrorist attack.
It's absolutely absurd.
It's dangerous.
It illustrates how far we've come from pre-COVID days where we're all used to being able to leave our houses to now the position we're in where the very possibility of being able to leave your house to go somewhere to conduct a normal life constitutes a terror threat according to the DHS.
unidentified
Two things I want to get into in the time.
We've got about five minutes remaining because this article is so important.
I need everybody to read this and I need everybody to share this.
It doesn't cost you any money.
This is what being a force multiplier is about because Darren Beatty has nailed this thing.
Number one, I want to talk about, they're trying to turn us almost into the Stasi to East Germany.
They want people to start, like, watching their neighbors and reporting things.
Number two, this is the same department.
We got Cuccinelli came on, who was, I think, the deputy over at DHS.
This, New Yorkers are just down there getting crushed.
By the Border Patrol.
This is the organization that has initiated and exacerbated the invasion of the United States.
And they're pointing this out.
And by the way, at first I thought it was a parody.
I really did.
When Bernie Kerrick and guys got this to me.
This is as dangerous as any document I've ever seen coming out of the U.S.
government.
Darren Beattie.
darren j beattie
Absolutely.
And just as an addition to all the other outrages that I just outlined, I think we need to focus on the specific role The DHS does play a special role.
Homeland Security per se occupies in this broader repurposing of the American national security apparatus against the American people.
I think the DHS does play a special role.
There's a reason that the DHS is issuing this threat level just days after the Biden spokespeople and the Biden regime said, oh, we need to crack down more heavily on people like Joe Rogan talking about COVID.
Why is the DHS their go-to agency for this war on the American people?
Well, a little hint in that direction, an additional scandal unto itself, is the special relationship between Benny Thompson and the Department of Homeland Security.
Benny Thompson being the chair of the January 6th Committee.
We cover this in more detail in the Revolver.News piece up Right now on the site.
But Benny Thompson is on his ninth year on the Homeland Security Committee.
He is the DHS's go-to stooge in Congress who will rubber stamp whatever the agenda of the DHS is.
So I find it especially interesting that this is the individual of all people who just happens to become the chair of the sham politicized January 6 Commission.
Quite an interesting coincidence, I would say.
unidentified
Darren, how dangerous is this document?
I mean, when you read it, it reads like a parody, but I need everybody to read the article and click through, you gotta read this document.
People have to share this document.
This came from the highest levels of the United States government.
How dangerous is this, sir?
darren j beattie
It's extremely dangerous, and I think we need to be broadly concerned about the domestic war on terror, but specifically vigilant with respect to the DHS.
I think it's additionally important as a last note to note that the DHS has been forward acting and positioning itself for a major role in this domestic war on terror.
In fact, even during the Trump years, which would be interesting for Mr. Cuccinelli to address, even during, under the Trump presidency, the DHS famously issued a document stipulating that white supremacy was the number one national security threat facing America.
So the DHS has been nefarious for quite a while.
Darren Beattie, real quickly, also social media, because I know you guys are putting up stuff all day long.
security state against the American people. If you want to read more about it, it's all in the revolver.news piece.
unidentified
Darren Beatty, real quickly, also social media because I know you guys are putting up stuff all day long. How do people follow you?
darren j beattie
We're on social media.
We're on Getter at Revolver News.
I'm on Twitter at Darren J. Beattie.
And as always, for the latest, revolver.news, we have this DHS bombshell piece right up the top and an additional surprise piece right below it.
So I encourage everyone, check it out, read it, share it with everyone, friends and foes alike.
Everyone needs to get this truth.
unidentified
Incredible, incredible analysis.
Thank you, Darren, for coming on here at the last second.
Darren Beattie.
darren j beattie
Thank you.
unidentified
Okay.
For the Center for American Renewal, Ken Cuccinelli's idea about this compact has now got people rolling.
You're seeing now you've got Brnovich in Arizona thrown down hard.
Ken was at DHS under President Trump.
He's one of the partners over there with Forrest Vogt, the former head of OMB.
We're going to get Ken in in a second after a quick break.
where I asked Ken about this outrageous bulletin coming from DHS and also asking about movement on this compact and what's happening on the southern border to stop the invasion of the United States.
Remember, it's Article 1 of the impeachment of Joe Biden, this illegitimate regime, once we take power on November 8th of this year.
Ken Cuccinello will join us on the other side.
Bye.
Everything's just beach.
Pandemic.
for the games you want to play bring it on and now we'll fight to the end just watch and see it's all started everything's begun and you are over because we're taking down the sea war room pandemic with stephen k bannon the epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
Okay, the annual sleep sale at MyPillow is not going to last forever.
Go there today.
Take action.
Action.
Action.

Go to MyPillow.com today to check it all out.
Remember, if you're going to man the ramparts, you've got to get a good night's sleep.
And nothing's better.
Rahim Ghassan says you don't sleep on A couple weeks ago, Ken Cuccinelli, he and Russ Vogt have the Center for Renewing America, came up with this idea.
They started working about this compact of the states, about the invasion of the United States.
I wanted Ken to come on to talk about that, because after Cuccinelli and the team at Center for Renewing America put it out, all of a sudden you saw Brnovich and some of these state attorney generals down the border start to get focused.
But Ken, I've got to start off with, because you were President Trump's guy over at DHS during the Trump administration.
And you've been an attorney general the Commonwealth of Virginia, so I know the legal side of it This this bulletin that came out of DHS that we just had BD that did the analysis on is one of the scariest things I've seen a long time that basically says that for fostering Sowing discord or undermining trust in US government institutions now put you up in the domestic terrorism category Ken Cuccinelli your analysis, sir You know, we haven't seen anything this bad since
They outlawed this stuff in 1798, one of John Adams, you know, his biggest mistake.
And this is really the next step up in the politicization of DHS by this administration.
So, Steve, you probably don't say much during a show that doesn't fit in this category.
Welcome to the list, you know?
It really reads like if you upset Joe Biden or Secretary Mayorkas, you are a potential domestic terrorist.
That's how this reads.
I can't tell you, Steve, how many people got in touch with me right after this came out, because as the Deputy Secretary, I ran the group that puts these bulletins out and coordinated it.
You know, this is unique in American history, but that's what's going on here.
Now, on the lighter side, if there is a lighter side, this doesn't have any legal force or effect.
It's a notice.
It's a terrorism notice.
But the fact that it sweeps an immense proportion of Americans, frankly, into one of its definitions of a domestic terrorist really tells you how this administration is thinking.
And the potential for where, if they're not checked, where they might go.
So, Ken, I gotta ask you, because you were the deputy over there for Trump, and you guys had this thing sorted on the border, as tough as it was.
Mayorkas goes down last week and gets lit up by Border Patrol, these videos that came out.
We have an invasion on the southern border.
You've come up with a solution, this compact.
We have an invasion.
How can the guys that are exacerbating and initiating an invasion on our southern border be the same guys putting out things about accusing people of potentially being domestic terrorists?
Ken Cuccinelli.
Right, right.
Like anybody else could undermine America more than this administration is doing it just at our southern border.
Three million invaders since Joe Biden became president.
Three million.
And only a few hundred thousand of them were turned back, which is pathetic and not what we were doing.
We were returning 85 to 90% of those border crossers in the first two hours when they came in the country.
The rest of them we continue to deal with, but That's how fast and hard we were turning people around.
And that model we used in DHS, states can use too.
What you and I talked about last time I was on with you, about the state power to protect their own borders.
Now, this week, Attorney General of Arizona, Mark Brnovich, issued the only legal opinion in American history to address this subject.
He's the first legal authority and he's the highest legal authority in Arizona.
And he concluded, consistent with the paper we wrote in October, and that what you and I were talking about last month, that in fact there is an invasion, as the Constitution uses that word on the southern border, that the federal government has failed to protect Arizona from that invasion, as they're obligated to do under the Guarantee Clause, and that Arizona, in the person of its Commander-in-Chief, the Governor, has the authority
To between the legal ports of entry turn people around and block that invasion themselves without permission from Congress or the president or anybody else.
It only becomes a question of whether Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona is willing to exercise that authority.
I want to take the remaining time because of what you and Russ are doing over there.
You know, we're set and look, you've been both an executive administrator in this administration.
You've also run for office and you've been the Attorney General of the Commonwealth, came very close to being the governor down there.
We don't, we're going to have this sweeping victory if we keep our shoulder to the wheel, particularly in the House, this November.
But Trump is not going to be back in the White House until 2024, and it'll be January 25.
We don't have that kind of time.
Three million.
Of all the crises we have, this may be, besides the financial crisis, this may be the worst, with three million invaders, and it's just coming, it's coming, it's coming.
What can this audience do?
What can you do?
What can we do now?
Walk us through the plan.
I love what Brnovich did.
What can you guys do and what can this audience do to put a shoulder well to stop this today?
Well, there's no question elections have consequences and that the next opportunity to slow this invasion down will be the midterm elections and then getting Republican majorities.
But you and I both know that's not enough.
Republican majorities willing to use the budget power To make sure the law is enforced.
And those are two different things.
Having a majority is only step one.
You actually have to be willing to do something with it.
And that's been a problem in the past.
So we'll see what the Republicans do.
And right now, the Senate leadership is unwilling to even lay out an agenda in case they get the majority.
That's not the case over on the House side.
But, you know, that worries me.
That looks like they want wiggle room.
They want to be able to make excuses.
And that isn't going to protect America in the next three years.
So what can protect America in the next three years?
And that's states on the border doing this job.
I'm under no illusions that we're likely to get California or New Mexico to do this.
But the two of the three biggest crossing states are Texas, number one, and Arizona as well.
California is in that top three, New Mexico, not so much.
And if Texas and Arizona begin returning people back to Mexico, it will actually affect the numbers.
You look at everything they've done under Operation Lone Star, really cool name in Texas, but it's lots of great photo ops, but the fact of the matter is it's only gotten worse because they haven't been willing to use this authority that Mark Brnovich noted is available to all of the border governors to return people to Mexico.
We know from our DHS time You know, you talk to Mark Morgan, you talk to, obviously, me, you talk to Chad Wolf, you talk to those of us who are doing this work, we know there's only one thing that slows the flow, and that's actually blocking people from entering or returning them out quickly.
If they don't believe that's going to happen, they will keep coming.
And it's that simple.
And so, until the states, in the absence of a federal administration willing to do it, until the states start actually slowing this flow, which they have the power to do, We're going to keep suffering this and we don't have a thousand days to wait to get executive authority actually used to protect America again.
We need the states to step up.
steve bannon
How do you get, now that Brnovich has written this legal opinion, is there a way in a place, let's take Arizona, that the Assembly, or how can you force Ducey's hand to actually execute on a legal opinion that the Attorney General has written that, hey, this is technically an invasion and we've got to enforce our state constitution, and the federal constitution gives us the power to do this.
unidentified
How would one go about doing that in your mind?
So let's look at that in two parts.
So Doug Ducey is there.
He's already obviously been elected.
He's not running again.
There's not a lot more than pressure him and appeal to him you can do.
I went to Arizona last month and with Russ and we stood with most, the vast majority of the Republican conference there.
And they said explicitly, Governor Ducey, if you use this power, we will back you up.
I mean, you have to pay people, right?
You gotta pay salaries, you gotta do all those things.
We will back you up.
We'll give you the resources to do it.
And just like they have Operation Lone Star in Texas, he's got his Operation Strike Force, or some really cool-sounding name that doesn't do anything.
