The virus has now killed more than 100 people in China and new cases have been confirmed around the world.
You don't want to frighten the American public.
France and South Korea have also got evacuation plans.
But you need to prepare for and assume.
Broadly warning Americans to avoid all non-essential travel to China.
This is going to be a real serious problem.
France, Australia, Canada, the US, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, the list goes on.
Health officials are investigating more than a hundred possible cases in the US.
Germany, a man has contracted the virus.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
Japan, where a bus driver contracted the virus.
Coronavirus has killed more than 100 people there and infected more than 4,500.
We have to prepare for the worst, always.
anthony fauci
Because if you don't, then the worst happens.
unidentified
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
Today, after a careful assessment of the facts and the law, the Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas.
Our position is set out in detail in our complaint.
Its basis is as follows.
SB 8 bans nearly all abortions in the state after six weeks of pregnancy, before many women even know they are pregnant, and months before a pregnancy is viable.
It does so even in cases of rape, sexual abuse, or incest.
And it further prohibits any effort to aid the doctors who provide pre-viability abortions, or the women who seek them.
The act is clearly unconstitutional under long-standing Supreme Court precedent.
steve bannon
Okay, we're live in the War Room.
It's Thursday, 9th September, Year of Our Lord 2021.
I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on the War Room, but we try to talk to the best lawyers in the country, so we reached out to Ken Paxton, the fantastic Attorney General of the great state of Texas, who I guess is the guy being sued, but it sounds like maybe all of Texas is being sued.
Attorney General Paxton, For the War Room audience, who obviously are very pro-Ken Paxson, people are confused.
What happened today?
What did Merrick Garland actually do?
Because I've talked to a lot of people with the Right to Life movement, and they can't figure it out either.
unidentified
Well, I'm confused too.
I wish I understood it.
They're suing the wrong party.
I mean, we don't enforce this law.
What they need to do is wait for an actual case.
When there's a private litigant bringing a case, Then they can fight back then, but the reality is, you know, we have nothing to do with enforcing this law.
That's the way the law was set up, and the state of Texas isn't doing anything other than providing a forum, which is a course, a cause of action, where people can have their grievances addressed as it relates to abortion.
steve bannon
Isn't, aren't they trying to argue, like I said, I'm not a lawyer, aren't they trying to argue you can't, the state of Texas doesn't have the right, this kind of state's right, you don't have the right to actually come up with a mechanism to let private citizens do these types of things, whether it was this or something else.
You don't have that right, the federal government.
unidentified
Yeah, I think you're right.
I think they're trying to argue we don't have the right to pass laws.
It's interesting to me that the federal government right now isn't following a lot of their own laws as it relates to immigration and other things that we've seen over the Keystone pipeline.
They don't follow their own federal laws.
They're very interested in going after Georgia or Texas and overseeing our laws and trying to fix our laws, even though they don't follow their own laws.
None of it makes any sense.
I've never seen a president or an administration so interested in regulating individual states and what they do.
This is almost, I think it's unheard of.
steve bannon
I mean, you've dealt, obviously, with many, many lawsuits, and I just want to make sure I'm not putting words in your mouth.
You're as confused as everybody else of exactly what Merrick Garland, besides just getting the pressure off him from Hollywood and from the progressive left and the media and probably the White House, it's not clear what he's trying to accomplish.
unidentified
Yeah, I mean, I think he's trying to get a win here because he's obviously filing in Travis County, usually a challenging place for us to win our lawsuits.
But on appeal, usually the law prevails.
So maybe he's looking for some win here or some argument that he's doing something about Texas, but his job is not to worry about Texas.
His job is to worry about the world, what's going on in Afghanistan, what's going on on the border, what's going on with the United States economy and energy prices, inflation.
He doesn't need to be regulating protective laws.
steve bannon
Is — are they trying to get a TRO, or injunctive relief?
Are they going to try to come and shut down the heartbeat bill immediately?
unidentified
They haven't so far.
Rumor has it that they are planning on that, but we haven't seen that.
We've just seen the original lawsuit that was filed today.
So, I don't know.
I guess we'll see in the next day or two.
steve bannon
I take it Texas is ready to take these guys on.
You, I guess, fundamentally disagree with everything Merrick Garland had to say, correct?
unidentified
Absolutely.
First of all, his argument that it's unconstitutional for Texas passes, that'll be decided in court, obviously.
But the reality is we have a right to pass laws here.
The federal government can't come in and stop our laws from going into place.
The Supreme Court's already sort of addressed that, saying they left it in place for the fight to be had in the proper place over individual cases.
And Mayor Garland is trying to go around the Supreme Court decision and get another bite at the apple because they lost.
And I understand that, but it is crazy.
And it's something that I don't think we've seen in American history where we have an administration so clear about not following federal law and then worrying about what's going on in Georgia and Texas and Florida and states they hate, apparently.
steve bannon
If you watch this live, the people, the reporters that have the beat over the Justice Department are very, you know, they know the law well, and every time they have a press conference, there are dozens of questions.
There were like two questions.
The guy walked to the stage, there were no more questions.
They were just gobsmacked.
The tell there is they were just gobsmacked.
As everybody else.
The president, he's late and we're going to put him in the box and some people will watch it for his press conference about the vaccine mandates.
In Texas, what's your view of what the president is going to say today about all federal workers, obviously all the military, and now putting pressure on companies.
I think the top hundred companies either going to have vaccine mandates or they're going to have to test their employees enough to make it bothersome to just go get the mandates.
Where do you guys stand on that?
unidentified
Look, he may be able to force federal employees to get the vaccine, but I don't believe he has the authority to just dictate again from the presidency that every worker in America that works for a large company or even a small company has to get a vaccine.
That is outside of the role of the president to dictate to individuals what their personal health is going to look like.
This is a federal government that believes they can dictate anything to you, and they are showing it every day.
And they certainly don't care about some of the things that are happening in our state with the border and what's happening with Afghanistan, but they want to tell us what to do with our health.
steve bannon
Attorney General Paxson, how do people follow you?
Because this is going to get even hotter than it has been so far.
So how can people follow you on social media?
unidentified
KenPaxson.com, and then for Facebook, Instagram, at KenPaxsonTX.
steve bannon
Thank you very much, Attorney General Paxson.
I appreciate it.
Thank you.
unidentified
Absolutely.
steve bannon
Have a great day.
Everybody in there should just tell me, just be tweeting us or texting me what Biden's saying, if anything.
Is that anything important?
peter navarro
Yeah.
steve bannon
So I've got to ask you, Peter, by the way, welcome back to the show.
We know you've been on a big project for the last month that we'll be able to reveal next week sometime.
But talk to me about you were there at the beginning of the vaccines.
The whole thing today, he's coming out and he's dropping the hammer.
Every federal employee, right, and I hear now Jack Posobiec is reporting that it's going to be by no later than Thanksgiving week.
So every federal employee, all the military, and now he's putting pressure, he's going to put pressure on the top largest hundred companies in America, full vaccine mandates for the companies or basically test so that it's so bothersome that you're just going to want to roll over and get a vaccine.
What are your thoughts?
peter navarro
Hippocrates is rolling over in his grave.
It's like, first, do no harm, Steve.
I mean, the reality of this is, and I was there at the inception back in February of 2020, we knew going out that even if we were able to get one or more vaccines, that they weren't likely to be the magic bullet.
That's very difficult to do.
What we have, and Dr. Malone and I have talked about this quite a bit, is we have a very leaky vaccine.
And under that circumstances, there's no way you can universally vaccinate your way to herd immunity.
And all you're going to do by forcing this universal vaccination is create more and more dangerous mutations with the possibility of a superbug that could literally wipe out humankind.
This is a very, very dangerous path that Biden is going down and bringing along corporate America with him.
Hang on.
steve bannon
Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on.
peter navarro
I'm hanging.
steve bannon
I want to be very precise here, because you were one of the guys at the beginning that worked with President Trump on Warp Speed.
What Tony Fauci's arguing right now about what's it the monster the monster variant right the monster the monster virus he's arguing you're he's saying the same endpoint but that if you follow Peter Navarro and Dr. Malone we're definitely going to get there.
He's saying we can only vaccinate our way to avoid that.
He's saying if you don't do this, and they never include the people who've had the virus.
That's a different discussion we'll have in a second.
But what Fauci's saying, he agrees with your endpoint about the monster variant, right?
Or the one that destroys mankind.
But he's saying if you don't vaccinate everybody right now, because their theory of the case is that this is a pandemic Dr. Peter Navarro, your response?
peter navarro
Fauci is a continual font of misinformation, wrong information.
It's remarkable this guy still has a job.
He's just again been exposed as a stone-cold liar with the revelations from his emails.
Here's the thing.
What Dr. Malone and I have been trying to describe is that if you've got vaccinated people, right, Vaccination is a very targeted spike protein condom injection and it only creates a limited set of immunities.
On the other hand, if you have an unvaccinated person who gets the infection, they've got 20 times more antibodies.
And so, what happens from a Darwinian evolutionary point, the risk we're taking here, It's with universal vaccination.
You get everybody vaccinated.
The virus comes in and adapts to that universal vaccination and creates a mutation that the vaccination doesn't work against and then winds up wiping out all the people who got vaccinated.
I mean, here's the thing, Steve.
The only sensible strategy, and this was back in February 2020, I laid out my five-vector pandemic attack strategy with Dr. Hatfield.
It's like, yeah, you try to get the vaccine, but the thing that's the huge things missing in this equation in places like Australia here and everywhere in between is the use of therapeutics.
Hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, zinc, there's a whole bunch of them that are very effective at helping people.
Who get infected with the virus, who are unlikely to die because they're not in the bad age group, and then they get antibodies and we have a stronger population.
The fact, Steve, the fact that we're not flooding these viral zones with therapeutics right now, this tantamount to negligent homicide by the Biden administration, And this goes back to during the Trump administration when, for political reasons, the New York Times, CNN, the scientific establishment all kind of dumped all over therapeutics like hydroxychloroquine.
Scared people.
You literally cannot get hydroxychloroquine now for off-label use.
steve bannon
You'll get arrested.
It's criminal.
Hang on, you've got the ivermectin.
We've got two minutes here.
By the way, We would go to Biden, but we already know what he's saying.
Right now he's talking about it's going to be federal employees and it's going to be the companies.
But here's the thing.
They aren't open to a debate right now.
Because they're tripling down on the vaccines.
No more possibility of herd immunity just with having the antibodies.
peter navarro
Steve, why would you debate when you control the entire media narrative?
These people disgust me, Steve.
It's like the White House is in league with Facebook, Twitter, and they're just scientifically illiterate.
And then the corporations pile on, And it's just a big payday for Pfizer.
It's just, I mean, we're at a crossroads here and we're taking the wrong road.
It's like, come on back, Joe.
Don't do that.
And this is like the Chinese Communist Party, Steve, is just laughing their ass off right now.
They're just, they're laughing.
They have turned us, not only into them, but into worse than them.
Okay?
It's just, this is just wrong, Steven.
Literally, our public health is at stake.
I would say, just off the cuff here, that about 70% of the people who are getting vaccinated would be much better off not getting vaccinated and having unfettered access to therapeutics.
And if they got the virus, they'd have much stronger antibodies than the vaccine would have.
steve bannon
We know it's about the immune system.
We've got to pop around and come right back.
But let me ask you, is the tell here about your leaky vaccine thesis, since you were there at the beginning, is the fact that it's taking multiple booster shots, that they've got to keep coming first?
You know, that was a conspiracy theory a hundred days ago.
peter navarro
The tell here is that people who are getting vaccinated are getting the virus.
That's to tell.
And there go, there go, give them a booster.
It's not really a booster, it's something more than a booster.
We'll talk about it when we come back.
steve bannon
Okay, good, bye.
unidentified
But we'll be right back.
joe biden
can't get vaccinated yet.
Well, the best way for a parent to protect their child under the age of 12 starts at home.
Every parent, every teen sibling, Every caregiver around them should be vaccinated.
Children have four times higher chance of getting hospitalized if they live in a state with low vaccination rates rather than states with high vaccination rates.
Now, if you're a parent of a young child, you're wondering, when will it be?
When will it be the vaccine available for them?
I strongly support independent scientific review for vaccine uses for children under 12.
We can't take shortcuts for that scientific work.
But I've made it clear I will do everything within my power to support the FDA with any resource it needs to continue to do this as safely and as quickly as possible.
And our nation's top doctors are committed to keeping the public at large updated on the process so parents can plan.
Now to the schools.
We know that if schools follow the science, And implement the safety measures like testing, masking, adequate ventilation systems, which we provided the money for, social distancing, and vaccinations, then children can be safe from COVID-19 in schools.
Today, about 90% of school staffs and teachers are vaccinated.
We should get that to 100%.
My administration has already acquired teachers At the schools run by the Defense Department, because I have the authority as president of the federal system, the Defense Department and the Interior Department, to get vaccinated.
That's authority I possess.
Tonight, I'm announcing that will require all of nearly 300,000 educators in the federal HEPA program, Head Start program, must be vaccinated as well to protect your youngest, our youngest, most precious Americans, and give parents their comfort.
And tonight, I'm calling on all governors to require vaccination for all teachers and staff.
Some already have done so.
We need more to step up.
Vaccination requirements in schools are nothing new.
They work.
They're overwhelmingly supported by educators and their unions.
And to all school officials trying to do the right thing by our children, I'll always be on your side.
Let me be blunt.
My plan also takes on elected officials in states that are undermining you and these life-saving actions.
Right now, local school officials are trying to keep children safe in a pandemic while their governor picks a fight with them and even threatens their salaries or their jobs.
Talk about bullying in schools.
They'll not help.
These governors won't help us beat the pandemic.
I'll use my power as President to get them out of the way.
The Department of Education has already begun to take legal action against states undermining protection that local school officials have ordered.
Any teacher or school official whose pay is withheld for doing the right thing, we will have that pay restored by the federal government 100 percent.
I promise you, I will have your back.
The fourth piece of my plan is increasing testing and masking.
From the start, America has failed to do enough COVID-19 testing.
In order to better detect and control the Delta variant, I'm taking steps tonight to make testing more available, more affordable, and more convenient.
I'll use the Defense Production Act to increase production of rapid tests Including those that you can use at home.
While that production is ramping up, my administration has worked with top retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and Kroger.
And tonight, we're announcing that no later than next week, each of these outlets will start to sell at-home rapid test kits at cost for the next three months.
This immediate price reduction for at-home test kits For up to 35% reduction.
We'll also expand free testing at 10,000 pharmacies around the country.
And we're committing $2 billion to purchase nearly 300 million rapid tests for distribution to community health centers, food banks, schools, so that every American, no matter their income, can access free and convenient tests This is important to everyone, particularly for a parent or a child with a child not old enough to be vaccinated.
You'll be able to test them at home and test those around them.
In addition to testing, we know masking helps stop the spread of COVID-19.
That's why, when I came into office, I required masks for all federal buildings and on federal lands, on airlines and other modes of transportation.
Today, tonight, I'm announcing that the Transportation Safety Administration, the TSA, will double the fines on travelers that refuse to mask.
If you break the rules, be prepared to pay.
And by the way, show some respect.
The anger you see on television toward flight attendants and others doing their job is wrong.
It's ugly.
The fifth piece of my plan is protecting our economic recovery.
Because of our vaccination program and the American Rescue Plan, which we passed early in my administration, we've had record job creation for a new administration.
Economic growth unmatched in 40 years.
We cannot let unvaccinated do this progress.
Undo it.
Turn it back.
So, tonight, I'm announcing additional steps to strengthen our economic recovery.
We'll be expanding COVID-19 economic injury disaster loan programs.
That's a program that's going to allow small businesses to borrow up to $2 million from the current $500,000 to keep going if COVID-19 impacts on their sales.
These low-interest, long-term loans require no repayment for two years, And we can use to hire and retain workers, purchase inventory, or even pay down higher cost debt racked up since the pandemic began.
I'll also be taking additional steps to help small businesses stay afloat during the pandemic.
Sixth, we're going to continue to improve the care of those who do get COVID-19.
In early July, I announced the deployment of surge response teams These are teams comprised of experts from the Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC, the Defense Department, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, to areas in the country that need help to stem the spread of COVID-19.
Since then, the federal government has deployed nearly 1,000 staff, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, into 18 states Today, I'm announcing that the Defense Department will double the number of military health teams that they'll deploy to help their fellow Americans in hospitals around the country.
Additionally, we're increasing the availability of new medicines recommended by real doctors, not conspiracy theorists.
The monoclonal antibody treatments have been shown to reduce the risk of hospitalization by up to 70 percent for unvaccinated people at risk of developing severe disease.
We've already distributed 1.4 million courses of these treatments to save lives and reduce the strain on hospitals.
Tonight, I'm announcing we will increase the average pace of shipment across the country of free monoclonal antibody treatments by another 50%.
Before I close, let me say this.
Communities of color are disproportionately impacted by this virus.
And as we continue to battle COVID-19, we will ensure that equity continues to be at the center of our response.
We'll ensure that everyone is reached.
My first responsibility as President is to protect the American people and make sure we have enough vaccine for every American, including enough boosters for every American who's approved to get one.
We also know this virus transcends borders.
That's why even as we execute this plan at home, we need to continue fighting the virus overseas, continue to be the arsenal of vaccines.
We're proud to have donated nearly 140 million vaccines over 90 countries, more than all other countries combined, including Europe, China and Russia combined.
That's American leadership on a global stage.
And that's just the beginning.
We've also now started to ship another 500 million COVID vaccines, Pfizer vaccines, purchased to donate to 100 lower-income countries in need of vaccines.
And I'll be announcing additional steps to help the rest of the world later this month.
As I recently released the key parts of my pandemic preparedness plan so that America isn't caught flat-footed when a new pandemic comes along, As it will next month.
I'm also going to release the plan in greater detail.
So let me close with this.
We have some we've made so much progress during the past seven months of this pandemic.
The recent increases in vaccinations in August already are having an impact in some states where case counts are dropping in recent days.
Even so, We remain at a critical moment, a critical time.
We have the tools.
Now we just have to finish the job with truth, with science, with confidence, and together as one nation.
Look, we're the United States of America.
There's nothing, not a single thing we're unable to do if we do it together.
So let's stay together.
God bless you all.
And all those who continue to serve on the front lines of this pandemic.
And may God protect our troops.
unidentified
Get vaccinated!
steve bannon
Okay, I want to bring in Dr. Peter Navarro, and we're going to, can we get up Steve Cortez?
We're supposed to get Cortez.
Cortez is up.
So I want to go immediately to Peter Navarro, then I'll go to Steve Cortez.
Initial thoughts?
Boy, I wouldn't want to be a governor.
I'm gonna get him.
This is the most tyrannical talk I've ever heard from the White House, but I'll go to Navarro for his initial thoughts.
peter navarro
So Biden's irony app was working over time.
It's like it's okay for him to bully just about everybody in America who thinks that the vaccination might not be the best idea.
Okay, but then he accuses Other people in government who have a different idea of being bullying.
What a friggin idiot, Steve.
Okay, monoclonal antibodies.
Note to Biden.
Again, February 2020.
I'm in the White House.
Memos.
On behalf of the President, we're the ones who got those things going.
So I got a little street cred here.
Those things work.
But I'm telling you, they're a lot more expensive than hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin.
And he takes a pot shot at that.
Here's the thing that really just ripped me, Steve.
It's like, get your teenager vaccinated!
Ooh, get your teen... Hey!
There's anybody in America who doesn't need to get vaccinated, it's healthy teenagers.
It's insane, and particularly female healthy teenagers, because we still don't know, Steve, whether there's reproductive issues.
I mean, we are going so far down this road, and Steve, it's a Maginot Line strategy, okay?
Basically, it's the imaginal line is the vaccinations, and around that line is coming the mutations that are all because of a misguided policy.
Steve, this is insanity.
steve bannon
It's like the sky is out of touch.
But he took a shot at the War Room Specials with Dr. Malone and Dr. Navarro.
I think he called you guys phony doctors?
Or phony... We'll get... I want to pull these quotes.
peter navarro
What is wrong with this guy?
steve bannon
I mean, he... Hang on for a second.
Hang on a second.
Steve Cortez.
Thoughts, analysis of what you just heard from the White House.
steve cortes
What we just saw, Steve, unfortunately, was really a wag the dog moment.
And what I mean by that, for people who might not be familiar with it, because it's not a very good movie, but it's a reference to the movie Wag the Dog, where politicians will create massive diversions to try to deflect attention from the American populace on what's really going on.
because of the created crises of, and a crises plural of the Biden administration, particularly the one that is festering in Afghanistan.
This is a massive attempt of Biden to reach into his bag of authoritarian tricks to try to create a massive diversion for the American people.
Look, you say it often, Steve, but it's very true.
You know, elections do have consequences and stolen elections, unfortunately, have the most dire of consequences.
This is an authoritarian moment right now in the United States.
It is the direct result because of the cheat, the steal that happened on November 3rd.
This is another reminder, a stark reminder of why number one, we have to fix what happened on November 3rd.
We have to get to the bottom of all of it.
We have to fix it going forward.
But number two, why we can never allow our democracy to be hijacked like this again, because it results inevitably in a tyrant like Joe Biden, an anti-scientific, anti-constitutional tyrant.
What he is suggesting here is clearly illegal, but here's the thing, Steve.
We don't necessarily know that we can depend on our courts to defend our constitutional rights against this naked grab of power.
So what we are going to have to do in the meantime, while we investigate November 3rd, while we get to the bottom of that, what we're also going to have to do is rely on the few brave governors out there, people like Ron DeSantis, who are willing to stand up for this country and federalism right now is going to have to be our defense mechanism that is going to have to be our fallback line for now before we can advance the ball forward before we can march on the tyrants in 2022 and 2024. He said if the governors don't
steve bannon
go along with me we're going to quote get them out of the way. I'm going to get them out of the way.
I'm going to come to Navarro in a second, but I want to come back to you for the two parts.
You said unscientific and tyrannical.
Give me why do you feel what he said is unscientific.
I want to go to Navarro on that and I'll come back about the tyrannical.
What did he lay out there that you would say, hey, this is flat out anti-science?
steve cortes
Yeah, you know, I'll give you two reasons why it's anti-science.
The first is that a lot of Americans, tens of millions of Americans, have made a very rational choice that they do not want this brand new vaccine, which, yes, did get FDA approval, but in an incredibly rushed manner, does not have any kind of long-term track record.
And tens of millions, if not even hundreds of millions of Americans know that they have natural immunity because they already contracted and beat the virus, or they know that if they have immunity or not, they're not statistically vulnerable to dire effects from the virus.
Talking about young and healthy people.
So they made a rational, science-based, evidence-based decision, in some cases in consultation with their physicians, to say, I'm going to forego this treatment.
And Joe Biden is reaching in and saying from a place of non-science, from a place that is not backed by data, to hell with you.
You will take this medicine and you will like it.
So that's the first thing.
And then regarding the constitutionality and why this is a tyranny.
Clearly, the president does not possess, he is not a king, he does not possess in any sense this authority over private companies.
Now, does he possess that authority over the military?
Unfortunately, he probably does.
Over federal employees, perhaps.
Even federal contractors, I think we're starting to get into murky grounds there, legally.
But when he goes beyond federal contractors, when he just says any company in America Doesn't matter what you do.
Auto repair shop with 105 employees out in Wichita, Kansas.
Guess what?
You must force your employees to take a medicine or they will be fired.
That is not remotely the purview of the President of the United States.
That is completely illegal, tyrannical, and non-constitutional.
steve bannon
By the way, on federal troops, hang on a second, Peter.
Hang on.
Hang on.
I think what he said about the troops, he does not have the authority on that.
That's posse comitatus, not the army he can deploy overseas.
You've got to be invited by one of those governors he wants to get out of the way to get federal troops into a state.
That was the most tyrannical thing of all.
Peter Navarro, you've been very good, waiting your turn.
What do you have to say, sir?
peter navarro
Well, as long as we got Brother Cortez here on the line, let me shift over to the economic impacts of this.
I mean, let's think about this.
If we've got every company in America forcing their employees To vaccinate.
And we've got a lot of people in those companies who don't trust the vaccine, who don't want to do that.
What's going to happen with the labor shortage?
They're going to get even worse.
I mean, people right now are being confronted with a real choice between taking a speculative, risky vaccine that in some cases, many cases, they really don't need, versus a paycheck.
Right.
And so I think what you're going to see is the people who are close to retirement now, this is going to accelerate the retirement process.
Those people are high skilled people.
We're having a skilled labor shortage period now.
It's going to be very, very difficult.
And, you know, it's like Biden saying, like, if a governor in Texas It has a policy that's contrary to our force the jab in your arm policy.
We'll give you a paycheck, okay?
Why doesn't it work the other way around?
I mean, this is insane.
So, maybe Cortez has some thoughts on this.
Feel free to wax eloquent on this.
steve bannon
Go ahead, Steve.
peter navarro
All of this is insane.
steve cortes
You make such an important point, because it's not just about our constitutional rights, which are critical, of course.
It's also about this very tenuous and very, I would say, delicate economic recovery right now, which shows many signs of sputtering, quite frankly.
When we look at the jobs report that we got out last week into Labor Day, it was a A dismal report.
Only 235,000 new jobs added.
That is a half million short of expectations.
Now, Steve and Peter, I traded on Wall Street, traded these kinds of numbers for 25 years.
I can't recall that kind of a miss.
That is a Grand Canyon-size miss versus expectations.
One of the big reasons?
is the labor participation rate.
To get to what you're talking about, Dr. Peter, the labor participation rate actually ticked down.
That is not supposed to happen during an economic recovery, particularly a recovery from the cataclysmic lows of the spring lockdowns of 2020.
The labor participation rate should continue to climb and climb.
Now, under Donald Trump, before the CCP virus ravaged the global economy, we saw decade-plus highs.
In the labor participation rate.
We are now seeing it tick down and throughout the seven months of the Biden, very weak Biden recovery, what we have seen all seven reported months so far is that number is staying below 62 percent.
It got up to 63.3 percent under Donald Trump.
It now ticked down to 61.7 and it seems that there's a bit of a ceiling just below 62 percent.
When we now layer this prohibition upon people, right, and tell them that you will take this medicine or you will not get a paycheck, I guarantee you the labor participation rate, you're exactly right Peter, is going to go down even further because people who don't need to work are going to make a very rational decision.
They're going to say, you cannot coerce me into taking medicine I don't want if I don't need the paycheck.
So again, people are going to make rational choices and this is going to further imperil what is already a very, very weak Biden economy.
peter navarro
Stagflation.
It's stagflation, because what it's going to do is drive up the wage level.
Hey, two other things.
I want to just point out these monoclonal antibodies.
Again, this was a Trump initiative back in February 2020.
Part of it came from a memo out of my office, right?
But I'm telling you, Steve, this stuff costs $1,000 or more, and you've got to get it shot into your arm.
Hydroxychloroquine is like $12 for a 7-day treatment course.
We're not managing this process.
We're fiscally responsible, much less scientifically.
steve bannon
Okay, hang on.
That ship sailed.
You're not going to win the hydroxy fight with these guys.
This is tyrannical.
I want to go back to something.
You two guys know the economy better than anybody.
Did he just say, because remember, the unemployment benefits came off on Labor Day for the $10 million.
The Supreme Court overruled the rent abatements, right?
Right now, to cover himself on the stagflation, to cover himself on the sputtering economy, Didn't he just say that he's going to go back and try to get a bunch of these things again that takes, you know, remember the drop in aggregate demand, that he's going to actually try to continue on with some of what he calls these emergency policies.
He's essentially going to sit there.
Don't blame me for the economy.
It's the Delta variant, the Mu variant, the monster variant that Navarro says is coming.
And so he's going to go back to the same type of spend, not tax, because we're not taxing.
Right.
But Cortez first and then Navarro.
Did I just hear that?
From what he's saying, he's going to try to cover himself?
Is that what he said, Steve?
steve cortes
And Steve, here's the thing.
There's no free lunch.
Guess what that is going to do to inflation?
Because the Biden inflation spike is already absolutely out of control.
And that's not my opinion.
That's what the data tell us, okay?
That is what the numbers reveal.
CPI last month was at 5.4%, the highest level consumer price index, the highest level since 2008.
And by the way, you don't even have to study the numbers because people just know this.
They know it in their lives, from their trips to the gas station and the grocery store, how expensive everything is getting at the producer level, PPI, at the highest level ever, not just since 2008, in the history of the index.
So we already have A Biden inflation spike that is out of control.
And Peter's exactly right.
For the first time since the 1970s in this country, we have stagflation.
That toxic combination of slowing growth, that's the stagnation, and out-of-control inflation.
Hence the term Stagflation.
Normally, historically, you get inflation when an economy is overheating because the economy is too hot and prices are rising.
What we have now is what we had in the 1970s, which is the opposite.
A slowing economy with rising prices.
So if Joe Biden goes back to the well, and if the Republicans in the Senate are willing, unfortunately, to lay down again and let him do it, and let him borrow and spend recklessly even further, even more than we've already done, we are going to have an inflationary spiral in this country That will absolutely destabilize our country.
And Steve, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I tell you that.
We already have a society that is incredibly polarized.
We see it, for example, in the vaccine, in this very issue.
We see how polarized our society is.
We see how violent our cities are getting.
You layer inflation on top of a country that is already on knife's edge.
And I'm telling you, even very sophisticated, urbane countries, if we study history, Places like Argentina before Perón, or Germany before the World Wars.
You throw inflation on top of those countries for a sustained period of time, and the results are not pretty.
And I fear that's what could happen here, which is why... Now, what's the way out?
The way out is for the Senate Republicans to grow a spine and to oppose any increase in the debt ceiling.
We do have a lever.
We have a card to play here to stop this madness.
steve bannon
Peter, I want to go to you for what Cortez is talking about.
This is Biden's, and this is what they're going to come back on the 3.5 trillion and say we need this more than ever now because the bottom's falling out and it's not our fault because this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
And the unvaccinated are basically the deplorables.
Right?
And they're going to blame it on evangelical Christians and traditional Catholics and more of the traditionalists.
They're going to say, it's a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
They drove us here and we're going to need this $3.5 trillion because we're still having problems with aggregate demand.
Plus, we got to take care of everybody.
Peter Navarro.
peter navarro
So I've told you that this policy of universal vaccination is going to further disrupt our labor markets by accelerating retirements and taking skilled people out of the market.
The same thing's going to happen in our schools.
I mean, for Cortez, man, if I could trade, like, Catholic schools and private schools, I'd be long right now.
Because what's going to happen is there's going to be mothers and fathers who are going to look at Joe Biden saying, the science says that you should vaccinate teenagers and put masks on eight-year-olds, when the science actually does not support that.
And they're going to say, Joe, No, baby!
And when they answer the poll about do they support this guy, it's gonna be, hell no!
Right?
And so we're destroying our labor market, we're destroying our schools, we're destroying every single institution imaginable through this woke, progressive, stupid, under-the-name-of-science, unscientific approach, and they have, you know, they're...
Fauci's the standard-bearer, and everybody knows now, Steve, this guy is a stone-cold liar.
And it's just, every time he gets on TV or in the press, it's like, why?
Why will he not be unmasked as he's forcing kids to be masked?
That's what I say to you, sir.
steve bannon
We're going to go to a break, but Steve, I've got to bring in your analysis you had on Newsmax, on the show you co-host at 9 o'clock every night.
You're open about Chicago and about kind of the razor's edge that we're on was shocking.
Tell us quickly about a society coming unwound.
steve cortes
So Chicago, last weekend, over 50 people were shot over the long holiday weekend.
Six children were shot in a 12-hour span.
I mean, think about that.
Six children in a 12-hour span in the city of Chicago.
Chicago is, unfortunately, I think, emblematic of where the country is headed on the whole, because it is the policies of Biden, but on fast-forward, In the case of Chicago, it is a third-world city that is quite literally in the middle of America.
I submit it as the most... I moved out of there, by the way, largely for this reason.
I raised a family in the city of Chicago.
I left.
Lots of people with options are leaving, but guess what?
Lots of those children, lots of those families, they don't have options.
Because they are working class or poor people and they are being abused by leftist policies that make their world dangerous, that do not educate them, that will not provide in all likelihood in-person classrooms at all this year or if they do with such massive restrictions that it's not any kind of normal normalcy for children.
Chicago is in many ways becoming a hellscape and I say as a former Chicagoan I'm trying to point at it for the rest of America and warn America let's not go there nationally.
steve bannon
We'll be back.
We got Cortez, we have Navarro, and you've got The War Room.
Short commercial break.
Be back in a moment.
unidentified
War Room.
Pandemic.
steve cortes
With Stephen K. Bannon.
unidentified
The epidemic is a demon, and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
Okay, we've got Cortez, we have Navarro.
I'll go to Steve Cortez first.
You saw a pretty extraordinary speech, I guess you would call it, from a dictum of six things he's going to do, his to-do list.
Pretty shocking.
Cortez, how big an overreach is this, a tyrannical overreach about the U.S.
economy, sir?
steve cortes
Listen, Joe Biden is trying to position himself as king, as king of the United States.
And of course, we are not a monarchy, we are a republic, or at least we're supposed to be.
But here's the thing, Steve.
I'm not sure that we can count on the courts to protect us because our courts have become so politicized and corrupted.
I hope that they do, but we can't count on that.
What he is proposing is unscientific.
It is clearly illegal.
He does not possess this power, certainly not unilaterally, certainly not without legislation.
Uh, from the people.
But in terms of the pushback, I think there are two ways.
To me it's a two-pronged strategy.
One is at the state level.
We have to rely on federalism to actually work in the United States.
And we need strong governors like Ron DeSantis to stand tall against this tyranny and say, you were not elected a king.
By the way, I don't believe he was elected at all.
But he certainly wasn't elected a king.
That is for certain.
And then I think the second strategy in Washington, D.C., is we have got to convince these squish Republicans on the Hill, particularly in the Senate, we have got to convince them that they must stand up against Joe Biden's extension of the debt ceiling.
We don't have a lot of levers anymore to play, but we do still have cards that we can play effectively, and that is the biggest one, and it's one that is coming to a fulcrum moment in just the coming weeks, because if we rob the dictator of his purse strings, if we rob him of the funds, that takes care of much of what he's doing right now and much of the problem.
steve bannon
We have two.
We have one is the operation on midnight on September 30th.
If they don't have a new budget, government shuts down.
Government just shuts down.
If we don't approve a continued resolution, which they want to, and then the debt ceiling.
The country's out of money on October 15th.
We default on government securities.
We got two bites of the apple.
The debt ceiling's bigger, granted, but if the Republicans got put their shoulder to the wheel.
By the way, real quickly, you do not believe that Joe Biden has the power, the inherent power in the executive, in the Constitution, to do this by executive order?
steve cortes
No, absolutely not.
To reach into private companies that have nothing to do with the federal government, and to tell them that because you have 100 employees, and because I want you to take this medicine, and I'm going to order you to fire your employees who don't want to take this medicine, even if it doesn't make sense for them, even if it's not medically necessary, even if it's not scientifically appropriate, he absolutely does not, clearly does not have this power.
And again, look, I hope that the courts will stop him.
That's how it should happen.
In our republic, but we can't count on that, unfortunately, because we have seen how corrupted the federal courts have been.
But look, suits will clearly be filed by the morning.
I mean, there are good attorneys right now drafting these suits on behalf of freedom and behalf of the Constitution, but he clearly does not possess this power.
He is acting as a tyrant and a king, and I'm telling you too, Steve, it's a massive diversion because his polling is an absolute freefall.
He is an unbelievably politically unstable and unpopular president who is facing three crises of his making all at once.
The Afghanistan crisis, the open border, and the Biden inflation spike.
This is his extremely lame attempt at basically throwing a Hail Mary pass and saying this perhaps is the way to divert the people and to get out of this corner that I'm currently in politically.
We can't let it work.
steve bannon
Peter Navarro, to that question, with no political capital, bleeding out all over, does Joe Biden have the muscle to implement this tyranny?
peter navarro
Unfortunately, probably with Merrick Garland.
But the thing, look, we broke some news today, Steve.
Nobody's really thought or talked about what we talked about today.
So I just want to reiterate this.
A policy of universal vaccinations is not only bad science and likely to create mutations and kill more people than the Navarro-Malone-Malone-Navarro policy of targeting only the most vulnerable.
Why? Because we're going to have the most, the senior citizens who are near retirement, leaving the labor force.
Let me emphasize this.
People are going to be confronted with a choice of either getting vaccinated with a risky vaccine so that they can keep their job or leaving that job.
And what that is going to do is it's going to accelerate the retirement of some of the most skilled people in our labor force.
exacerbate what is already an incredibly bad and distorted labor market. And Cortez had exactly right the labor force participation rate which was rising steadily during the Trump administration which was how we were able to keep the unemployment rate at like four and a half percent.
But we kept creating jobs.
People were coming in.
It's just the opposite now.
The other thing I want to leave you with here, Steve, is this whole thing about what we're doing to our children.
This is criminal, what we are doing to our children.
And we didn't talk about the whole mask mandate.
Biden, during that press conference, said that he's going to enforce more mask mandates.
In schools, that means our children are going to be breathing carbon dioxide, not going to be able to communicate with facial gestures.
We already know that this is bad for the physical and mental health, and yet he keeps shoving this stuff down our throats, into our arms.
See, this is just, this is just insanity.
It's like he's screwing up the border, he's screwing up Afghanistan, he's screwing up the economy, he's screwing up Fighting the pandemic.
Stolen elections have consequences.
I don't want to wait to 2024.
We need Trump back in the White House right now.
We need to have election audits so that we can get to the bottom of what happened on November 3rd.
steve bannon
Elections have consequences.
Stolen elections have catastrophic consequences.
Steve Cortez, what's your social media?
You're on at nine o'clock tonight.
On Newsmax, co-hosting with Jen Pellegrino.
Cortez and Pellegrino, don't miss it.
The Open is always enormously powerful.
What's your social media handles?
steve cortes
And we'll be talking about this issue.
I have the great Victor David Hanson on with us, Davis Hanson on tonight.
I'm at CortezSteve on the Twitter, but I prefer you follow me at Getter.
Couldn't be an easier handle.
It's just Steve at Getter.
steve bannon
How did you get that?
Peter, we'll only get a few seconds.
unidentified
Navar, you're back.
You came in with the bank.
about that, baby. How'd you get away from me?
Peter, we'll only get a few seconds. Navarro, you're back.
steve bannon
You came in with the bank.
What's your social media real quick?
peter navarro
Real P. Navarro at Getter and Twitter.
Getter is the Twitter killer, and what we need to do is get Getter in the hands of everybody worldwide, and it's the Twitter killer, baby.
steve bannon
Okay, we're going to take a short commercial break.
I want to thank both of you guys.
This is very powerful.
Great analysis of what Joe Biden did today.
Very scary.
Okay, short commercial break.
We're going to be back in the War Room.
Dr. Naomi Wolf and a whole slew of other people will talk about the vaccine.
Passports are not here.
The forced vaccines are here.
