Authorities have imposed a lockdown in the central city of Wuhan where the coronavirus... Massive construction effort to build a new hospital... Millions of people are in quarantine... A new virus that has killed nine people and infected hundreds of thousands...
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, a number of people are being tested for the coronavirus.
In Scotland and Northern Ireland, a number of people are being tested for the coronavirus.
There are seven types of coronavirus that could infect me.
This morning, the CDC announced confirmation of the second case of novel coronavirus in the US.
A man in his 30s from Washington State is the first person in America to be diagnosed with coronavirus.
steve bannon
And health officials have confirmed that the virus can spread from person to person.
unidentified
Because with our increasing global society, the threat of infectious disease is only a street light away.
Welcome.
steve bannon
This is War Room Pandemic.
It is episode one.
We are live from Capitol Hill.
It's the 25th of January, the year of our Lord 2020.
This is a special Uh, on this pandemic, uh, the, uh, we talk about warm impeachment, the opportunity cost that the country is going through in this constitutional crisis forced on us by Democrats.
We think it's twofold.
Number one, the work of the country, the work of Donald Trump and what he's trying to accomplish for the country, but also other things are happening in the world.
We've ascertained over the last 24, 48 hours that the biggest story in the world turns out not to be President Trump's impeachment, which has kind of become a farce because of the Democrats, but really what this a potential pandemic.
Coming out of China and what we've assembled given our contact relationships and interest in China is really a group of experts over the next couple of days and weeks to be able to separate out the rumor and the hype and the hysteria from what the facts are, what the facts are on the ground.
unidentified
The Trump presidency and the contrast on display tonight was so stark.
I mean, those lights that are that are just shooting out from the Lincoln Memorial along the reflecting pool.
I look, it's like almost.
Extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America.
It was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms.
jen psaki
We're going to undertake as it relates to a range of our.
Sorry, let me start again here.
A range of regulatory actions and a range of relationships with companies as it relates to Chinese investment and other issues as well.
Those complex reviews are just starting. And as I noted, they will need to go through the interagency. So the State Department, the Treasury Department, a number of others who will review how we move forward. We're starting from an approach of patience as it relates to our relationship with China. So that means we're going to have consultations with our allies.
We're going to have consultations with Democrats and Republicans. And we're going to allow the interagency process to work its way through to review and assess how we should move forward with our relationship.
steve bannon
The sacred interagency process.
You remember from the impeachment round one, the sacred, sacred, holy writ interagency process.
That was Jan Psaki.
Not ready for prime time, Jan.
Sorry, just stumbling around on your China policy.
We started.
With, as we started this morning, it's the one-year anniversary of War Room Pandemic, and we started pretty prescient when he sent there Jack Posobiec, and Jack Posobiec was our first in-studio guest for the entire episode then.
Dr. Peter Navarro joins us today.
Dr. Peter Navarro was the hero That a couple of days after this, wrote a memo that went to the President of the United States and the President signed off on it.
That memo countered what Tony Fauci and others were telling him were policies that really led to millions of people in the United States dying.
It was Dr. Peter Navarro with President Trump that took that heroic action.
We're live in the War Room today, the real one, War Room Pandemic.
It is 25th of January, the year of our Lord, 2021.
And the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Can you believe a year ago, At 10 o'clock in the morning or 11 o'clock, we had that announcement, which is where we are today in the middle of a pandemic with an impeachment upon us.
That's what's occurred in the United States in one year.
We're on the John Fredericks Radio Network.
Of course, now we're one of the biggest podcasts in the world.
And that's because I think we put forward information.
Both on the economic crisis that the pandemic triggered, all about the pandemic from a global basis, including what was happening in China, the financial crisis, and now as we get a political and geopolitical crisis.
We started the show this morning with President Xi and the Party of Davos.
He had the keynote address in Davos, although he gave it, I think, from Beijing.
It was sent throughout the world by the World Economic Forum.
And it was in the grill of the United States.
Remember, four years ago, he gave the first speech.
He gave a talk at Davos on Wednesday that talked about the glories of globalization and said the only problem we have is this populist nationalist movement is personified by Orange Man Bad, who talked two days later and gave the great speech that defended the Westphalian system and the sovereignty of the nation-states.
I want to bring in now Dr. Peter Navarro, but first I want to turn to Jack Posobiec.
Posobiec, one year Everything changed, but nothing changed.
jack posobiec
Well, nothing changed, and Steve, right behind you on the headline actually just changed it, but it was saying, as you were giving your monologue just now, the Senate is just about to turn over, they're going to deliver, or excuse me, the House is going to deliver to the Senate the articles of impeachment of the former, the 45th President of the United States, who is now a private citizen.
It's like we're stuck in some kind of Dark City simulated feedback loop here that we can't get out of, and Xi Jinping is the one that's moving the ball down the field.
Meanwhile, we keep chasing our own tail, which is exactly what I warned would happen and could happen.
It is what came to pass one year ago today, January 25th, St.
Tatiana's Day.
This is the day that it all started.
Here we are again.
steve bannon
So, Peter Navarro, I want to bring you in.
I know that some of the guys that worked on the initial, we brought in experts for war and pandemic.
Eventually, some of those started helping you later in the year.
But what was it that drove you from the very beginning to write?
I think you guys had this big confrontation on the 27th and 28th.
You wrote that memo.
The president, I believe, made the decision on the 29th or 30th, this historic decision of which Joe Biden and the Democrats didn't agree with.
They thought it was nativist, racist, all that.
What was it from the very beginning that drove you to understand that this thing was going to be incredibly serious and had to be dealt with with extraordinary measures?
peter navarro
Steve, it dates back to 2006 and my book, The Coming China Wars, where I predicted in that book that China, communist China, would likely create a global pandemic that would kill millions.
So that was in my brain and DNA.
in the White House and as word began to come out from Wuhan, I'm watching that and my stomach starts to tighten.
I'm watching what the brilliant Steve Bannon was doing and by the way, I mean you were ahead of everybody.
And it was eerie listening to that cold open because literally we're on the verge of another pandemic and we have a force of an impeachment trial.
So that's what motivated that.
And the Chinese come to town on January 15th to sign this sham of a skinny deal.
And I'm thinking, you know, what do they know now that we might not know?
And so when the boss, the president, Tasked me with basically bringing the task force on board with his China travel ban.
I was all in.
I looked at the chessboard.
It was very clear to me that we had over 20,000 Chinese nationals flying in every day to this country.
There was an imperative to take that travel ban down.
And on the 28th, sure enough, I'm fighting Dr. Anthony Fauci, who I didn't know who he was at the time, but I learned about his arrogance, hubris, and lies.
We've got trouble ahead right now.
We've got a three-vector attack coming from the Great Britain strain, the South African strain, and the Brazilian strain of this virus.
It's, to me, unlikely that the current vaccine will be able to accommodate those three different strains, so the big pharma is going to have to make a correction.
And and yet, yet Capitol Hill is focused on, as you described it a year ago today, Another farce of an impeachment trial.
I mean, these people up on Capitol Hill need to get it through their head that we got trouble that we got to deal with now.
And it's not Donald Trump that's causing the trouble.
steve bannon
OK, OK.
But they see the purge of Trump as everything.
I want it.
We got about five minutes in this segment.
I want to get both you and Jack.
Given it's the anniversary of the pandemic, of our coverage, and we have been on this since really late December, early January, but didn't think that we had a show in this until Later.
I want to go to Xi's speech today, and I want to ask for somebody to come to Univar.
Isn't it extraordinary that this was a total, I'd say it's a throwdown, you actually say it's victory, but he actually uses as the two things he wants to work with the West on, besides climate change, is COVID.
No, no apology, no recognition is their fault.
I think it's Wurzel out of the former Biden guy said today, it's in the Toronto Sun, that we were right.
He says, hey, it's to him, it's absolutely categorical, came from Wuhan lab.
That's, that's a big, that's one of the Biden guys saying, came from the Wuhan lab.
But no apology, no sense of responsibility, and in fact, we broke this the other day, CCTV's running an eight-minute segment saying it actually came from Fort Detrick.
Tell me about Xi's speech, Posobiec, and they want to go to Mavar, the President's assistant to Trump.
And a guy that just got sanctioned, like I did, by China.
What was his speech today of Xi, given it's about a year since they even said that something was coming out of Wuhan?
jack posobiec
Well, Steve, this was a victory lap for Chairman Xi Jinping.
This was an example for him, an opportunity to speak to the world leaders and tell them that this is the line that you are all going to follow.
And he knows that the rest of the world Joe Biden, through his son Hunter, Tony Blinken, and the rest, he's got them all in his pocket.
You are going to go along with us.
You are going to applaud when the Chinese Communist Party, that has a million Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps, and you're going to applaud when we say that we stand for equal rights, and that we stand for one shared humanity.
He knows exactly who he is, and he knows that they know who he is, and at this point, he knows there isn't a thing they can do about it.
steve bannon
Navarro, Jen Psaki sat up there, and she's stumbling through this thing, she can't get her notes, she says it's complex, it's interagency process, twice interagency process, but the pull, the buried lead was, we're going to have patience, strategic patience when it comes to China.
What say you, Dr. Navarro?
peter navarro
Well, two things.
We've seen strategic patience.
This is the third Obama-Biden administration, because that was their plan back in the first eight years of this, and we know how that worked out in terms of foreign policy.
But let me show you something here for your video, for people watching on TV, and I'll walk you through for the radio audience.
But this is kind of what my takeaway, the four main things that came out of that.
One thing, Steve, that really was stunning to me was how bleak a forecast She gave for the global economy.
And he's absolutely right.
We have big trouble ahead.
But then he goes on to say, you know, bullet point number one was he's asking for macro coordination, which is basically code words for saying, leave us alone.
We want to continue with our unfettered Chinese mercantilism.
The second thing is he used this this this this rhetoric of, quote, mutual respect and win win while we steal from you, by the way.
And again, those are just code words.
Leave our authoritarian system alone.
Don't talk to us about human rights.
We're going to do whatever the heck we want in Asia.
Get out of our grill.
The third thing was just a tip of the hat to the usual North-South and Northern Hemisphere-Southern Hemisphere rhetoric, where China has really tried to woo Latin America, Africa, and all the poorer countries.
That was my takeaway from this.
with essentially globalism, a cry for globalism with Chinese characteristics.
That was my takeaway from this.
What we didn't hear, as you said, was any acceptance for responsibility for the CCP virus that is killing now millions around this country.
And there was no apologies whatsoever for this authoritarian model.
In fact, as Posobiec says, it was a victory lap where they really believe that they're in control.
And this advisor for Biden, I mean, it's frightening how naive that individual is.
I mean, the words coming out of her mouth.
I mean, it goes back to like the Hank Paulson days.
When for eight years we had dialogue, right?
That was going to solve everything and all they did was pick our pockets and take our intellectual property.
So Davos was not a good day for America and it never is unless Trump's over there telling them that economic nationalism is the new wave of the future.
steve bannon
Okay, we're going to come back to the commercial break.
Let's take a commercial break, come back, talk about this real quickly.
Posobiec, by not answering, by being silent and just having Saki up there stumbling through the word salad of interagency process, how do the Chinese view that?
anthony fauci
Victory.
jack posobiec
Complete submission and victory.
steve bannon
Okay, Blinken and Jake Sullivan, you got your work cut out for you.
We told you this was going to happen.
Everything we said about this has all come to pass.
Dr. Navarro, back in the War Room after a break.
unidentified
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Banham.
anthony fauci
It is unlikely, but we can say definitively.
unidentified
Understood.
On the vaccines, you just drove home that point of how important it is to get this out there.
I want to play some tape here for you and get you to clarify when U.S.
taxpayers can expect to get their vaccine.
joe biden
At least 100 million COVID vaccine shots into the arms of the American people in the first 100 days.
100 million shots in the first 100 days.
anthony fauci
You know the goal that's been set, which I believe is entirely achievable, is to have 100 million people vaccinated in the first 100 days.
Both vaccines?
Primary and boost, yes.
unidentified
Primary and boost in 100 days.
anthony fauci
Yes, yes.
unidentified
So Doctor, in that exchange you seem to be promising a bit more than the President is.
Can you just bottom line it?
How many people will be fully vaccinated within 100 days?
anthony fauci
Yeah, so let me clarify that because there was a little bit of a misunderstanding.
What we're talking about is a hundred million shots in individuals.
So a shot, as in other words, when you get down to, let's say, a certain part of the hundred days, at the end of a hundred days, you're going to have some people who will have gotten both shots and some will still be on their first shots.
But the president is saying a hundred million shots in the arms of people within a hundred days.
unidentified
So, reportedly, the transition team projections are that that's more like 67 million people by April, by the end of 100 days.
Is that an accurate number?
anthony fauci
Yeah, that is.
Well, I haven't done the math myself, but it sounds very much like the accurate number we were having.
steve bannon
You haven't done the math, you moron.
It's simple.
This Fauci is not only an idiot, he's a pathological liar, and I'm so glad That Biden, after all the media holding him up as everything, that they've now, they own it.
So you guys embrace the suck of Tony Fauci.
Somebody's got some other stuff to say about Xi, but I want to finish with Fauci first and Peter Navarro.
Dr. Navarro has also disclosed today that Tony Fauci makes more than the President of the United States.
person in the United States government.
You're an assistant to the president.
You made, what, a buck eighty?
Tony Fauci makes 2x with Dr. Peter Navarro, and you saved Fauci from literally killing millions of people because he fought you.
He fought you.
Defending the World Health Organization's policies of not looking at international borders.
You said, oh, you can't do travel bans.
They don't work.
Well, this one worked and you had to fight him.
Give us your assessment.
Oh, Fauci goes, yeah, I think the math is 67.
This guy is a phony, he's an idiot, he's a liar.
This whole thing about being evidence-based, all that, it's nonsense.
He's always moving the goalposts because he doesn't really understand the data.
Mr. Dr. Peter Navarro, what say you?
peter navarro
Well, he's got to get paid twice as much as I do, because anybody can talk out of two sides of their mouth seemingly has got to get that.
But I think what we really have to, whenever we talk about Anthony Fauci, we have to remind the American people that the Wuhan Virology Lab was partially funded by money that came directly from Dr. Fauci's bureaucracy, and that that lab where the virus almost certainly came from either escaped or some other scenario, was possibly genetically engineered
to be far more deadly as a bio-weapon by Anthony Fauci's agreement to let that lab do gain-of-function research.
Gain-of-function research, Steve, as you know and your audience needs to know, is when you take a virus and you make it more deadly through genetic modifications.
And Fauci It would be if history does indeed show unequivocally that it was Fauci who helped fund and genetically engineer that virus through his cooperation with the Chinese above all the other people he's killed with his actions.
That would be certainly his his place in history and he deserves right now at least a place in history where he opposed the travel ban.
If he had been Joe Biden's advisor, Biden would have listened to him.
A million more Americans be dead right now.
steve bannon
Okay, I want a programming note.
Walking through nomenclature, we talked about gain of function, I think on the second or third day of this show with Dr. Steven Hatfield.
More importantly, we started talking about this whole Fauci connection to it, I believe in March or April.
We're going to do a lot more.
We've got a lot more evidence we've been holding back we want to go through with Fauci.
I think the New York Post and others, Steve Hilton had Miranda Devine last night on the show.
They're going into it.
Oh, Dr. Fauci is going to be held accountable for what he's done and gained a function.
And now that Meltzer, the former senior advisor of the World Health Organization and Biden has come out and finally admitted That War Room Pandemic was right.
Dr. Lee Mignon was right.
Of all the heckling we got, Bill Gertz was right.
Remember, Bill Gertz, on the third day of this, we had him on the show.
The Washington Post goes, conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory.
So everybody's saying that.
I think we just lost Dr. Navarro.
Let's see if we can get the picture back up.
No, we're going to have a lot more on Fauci.
Dr. Navarro, if we still have you, I want to go into this COVID, the plan.
They're waving back and forth.
Biden's waving back and forth.
Hey, I got a 23-page plan.
It's going to be totally different than Trump and Navarro and all these scurbs of the White House.
Give us your assessment of what the American people can expect, the difference between the Trump model and what Biden's saying is the new solution for COVID, CCP-19.
peter navarro
Yeah, and let me restate what I said earlier, which is that we've got a three vector attack now coming with a more virulent strain, more contagious strain of the virus.
Modifications from Great Britain, South Africa and Brazil.
And by the way, what a great idea.
20 million people unemployed.
Let's bring millions more up from the border and carrying Brazilian virus.
Let me do my version of telestrator here, Steve, and walk through the plan for you.
I'll talk through for the radio audience, but it's basically a seven-part plan that Biden introduced.
He's going to have a task force.
Well, we certainly had one of those.
He's going to use the Defense Production Act, which I was the policy coordinator of.
It's really kind of annoying because we used that over a hundred times and he keeps saying that we didn't.
Somehow, if we had an honest corporate media in this country, they might set the record straight, but don't expect that.
The vaccination campaign, it was interesting to watch Fauci basically dissemble there when confronted with facts.
Basically, he was trying to support Biden's 100 million vaccine doses.
And then he got nailed by the reporter saying, well, they need two shots each.
But the point is that this is this was our plan all along.
We, President Trump, the memo I wrote on February 9th was like, we're getting the vaccine and mass production by November 9th.
By the end of November.
And yeah, they're not going to do any better and possibly worse than we did.
Focus on masking, testing, treatment, data collection.
Duh.
We did that.
Safely reopen schools, businesses, and travel.
This is the buried lead, Steve, because on this one, Steve, We know that the blue states, the Newsom's of this world, the Cuomo's, they're going to knee jerk reaction to lock everything down, including the schools.
And so Biden is going to have rhetoric on this.
But the reality is that whatever they open up in a Biden world will be much less than what we would have had in a Trump world.
And then there's a couple other things in the plan.
But, you know, at the end of the day, the last thing I got to show you this.
The last thing, rejoin the World Health Organization.
And there's a little editorial there with a clown face over there.
But the point, Steve, is that, look, The WHO was the shield for the Chinese Communist Party, allowing that pandemic to open up because they had 60 days where they shut down their own country and then sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese nationals to Milan, New York, Tehran, and we wound up with a pandemic that we need not have.
And Tedros, the guy who runs the WHO, From Ethiopia, which is a client state of China.
Yeah, so they can have, Biden can have Fauci if he wants him.
They can have the WHO if they want him, but it's not going to save lives.
steve bannon
It's going to cost taxpayers money.
Okay, okay.
We only got two minutes left.
I got to get this out of you.
They're all saying that Biden won because of the mail-in voting, but because of his, he was going to handle The Covid, the CCP virus, totally different than Trump.
And he's come back with a $1.9 trillion, but just tying together, since there looks like no difference in even substance or kind, right?
What's the difference of the $1.9 trillion?
Where is it in the Covid bill?
The point is, what is the difference that Biden's offering?
peter navarro
The one difference is that it's going to be less effective because he's not going to be able to handle this lockdown issue versus opening up schools and businesses.
And as Cortes has said, and we've talked about, this economy's heading over a cliff now.
And as it's heading over the cliff, we got viruses coming from Brazil, Great Britain, and South Africa.
And so, look, within 90 days, I think we're going to have the biggest case of buyer's remorse and you don't know what you got until Trump's gone that you've ever seen in American presidential history.
And if you've got people like Fauci and that woman who's running the China policy in charge of this, I think the churches are going to have a lot of praying going on in them.
steve bannon
Okay, real quickly, you've got 30 seconds.
They say the biggest difference is they're going to have federal authority and they're going to be hands-on.
You guys are passive.
What say you, sir?
peter navarro
Nonsense.
We were very aggressive about using the Defense Production Act, and frankly, whenever I needed to use it, if I called a company and I'd say, hey, do this or I'm going to use it, they did it.
steve bannon
So... What about vaccine distribution?
They're going to be much more engaged.
They said you were passive.
You got 15 seconds.
peter navarro
Well, we had everything in place that we turned over to him.
Everything that's going on now is the result of Donald J. Trump.
We got that done in a third of the time.
Fauci said it would take two years.
We did it in a matter of months.
So, rhetoric, reality.
The problem is you don't get any truth except from programs like this and the National Pulse and Just the News and this kind of media.
steve bannon
Okay, we've got to bounce, we'll get your social media and the Navarra reports up when we come back.
We'll have John Eastman, Jack Pasova's got some more comments on China.
John Eastman joins us next on the Trial of the President.
unidentified
War Room.
Pandemic.
With Stephen K. Bannon.
The epidemic is a demon and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
Okay, amazing from Dr. Peter Navarro.
That guy's an American hero.
Fauci is a scumbag and Dr. Navarro is an American hero.
And if Twitter, you're going to take people down for that.
You watched what comes out, just like we said a year ago, this is our first anniversary show.
That this was a pandemic that came from the Wuhan lab.
We had Jack Pasoba gone.
We had Bill Gertz the next day and people laughed.
Oh, this thing's not a pandemic.
This is Bannon once again with his hair on fire.
And it certainly didn't come from the Wuhan lab.
It came from the wet market or a bat cave or anything.
No, that is incorrect.
And today, was it Meltzer, the former advisor to World Health Organization and a Joe Biden admitted it in the Toronto Sun.
Absolutely.
He concurred with the intelligence community and the Secretary of State that put it out last week.
This is a gain-of-function experiment done by the People's Liberation Army Bioweapons Program in the P4 lab in Wuhan.
Of that, there is no doubt.
The only question, and I'm on the side that it inadvertently leaked, as is, I believe, Meltzer, not that it was done on purpose, but they exacerbated it after it got out.
After it got out they exacerbated all the problems.
We've gone through a chapter and verse and we will do more this week because this is essential to the geopolitical crisis that we're in.
She throws down today, Posobiec says victory lap, I say throw down, Biden silent, Jen Psaki's up there mumbling in the mumble tank, oh we're going to have the interagency process.
Remember the sacredness of the interagency process.
One year ago, what are we talking about?
We're talking about it starting the impeachment process and it's about a pandemic.
Here, one year later, we're on a pandemic.
She's talking and they're a few minutes away.
If you watch CNN, the reason I have CNN on, Is to make sure the TV audience, you're grinding your teeth while you're watching this.
You see, you see the phoniness and you see reality.
Reality in the foreground with the show, and all the smoke and mirrors that they put up all the time.
And I understand it irks some people, but it's supposed to irk you.
Okay?
Now...
We've brought in John Eastman because this moment when they walk the instrument over actually technically is going to begin the whole process in the Senate.
But Posobiec, walk me through.
You said Peter Navarro had four great bullet points but missed the fifth.
jack posobiec
Yeah, I would just add on to what Dr. Navarro had there.
It was something that I mentioned this morning, I want to mention it again, because Xi Jinping didn't end his speech on a thank you or a welcome.
He ended his speech on a proclamation.
A year ago today, I talked about the mandate of heaven and the CCP's mandate of heaven.
That is how they derive their rule.
They claim their rule is derived from the mandate of heaven.
Today he issued a proclamation.
He said there is one Earth and there will be one shared future for humanity.
That was a proclamation of a global mandate of heaven by Xi Jinping.
It's very key that people understand this.
That was a proclamation.
When Xi Jinping says that stuff, keep in mind that these speeches go through committee after committee after committee.
Xi Jinping signs off on it, but every single word is specifically chosen when you're in the Politburo like that.
And he knew exactly what he meant when he said it.
steve bannon
They have Chinese intel that watches the show non-stop, right?
Because they know that we bring the truth to the American people.
And particularly Lao Bai Jing, old hunter names in China, right?
In the diaspora.
jack posobiec
老百姓萬歲!
steve bannon
老百姓萬歲!
She's speech is so important today.
This has more impact in your life, your children's life, your grandchildren's life, than all the noise you hear going around.
Right?
This is the real thing.
This is why I'm sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party.
This is why on CCTV they call me public enemy number one over there.
And I am.
Because taking down the CCP is what frees not only the Chinese people, but it frees the people of the world.
jack posobiec
Surprised they haven't blamed you for the pandemic yet.
steve bannon
Hold it, they're at Fort Detrick.
CCTV the other day, we broke it, they had a seven-minute special that accused Fort Detrick and the people at Fort Detrick of causing... Listen, we haven't held them accountable.
The West has not held him accountable.
Biden is weak.
And now they're going to flip it back and say it was the Americans all along.
You watch.
This is coming.
I want to bring in now, because we're just about to bring the instrument of the impeachment from the House to the Senate, I want to bring in John Eastman, who is the President's constitutional lawyer.
John, we would not be in this situation if Mike Pence had done the right thing, had done the constitutional thing.
You finally got the article up.
In the American mind.
I want everybody in the war room posse to read this and push it out.
It's a brilliant analysis.
You actually go through what the actual ask was of all the lies and spin from the Republican establishment to the Democrats to the mainstream media.
Walk us through exactly what your logic was, what the ask was, and why that was the constitutional way we should have handled this.
unidentified
Well, you know, after the, in the wake of Bush versus Gore, there were a lot of law review articles.
Saying that Al Gore had the ability to decide what to do with the Florida electors.
One of the leading articles was by a Yale Law student under the tutelage of two of Yale's most prominent scholars, Bruce Ackerman and Akil Amar, arguing that the 12th Amendment gives the power only to the Vice President to open and to count the ballots in the presence of the House and the Senate.
And if you've got a dispute about which set of ballots to account, somebody has to make a judgment.
And so those articles were out there, including one by John Yoo, published in the American Mind in October, saying that the buck stops with the vice president.
And so those were the kind of speculations that were floating around.
And when Vice President Pence in his letter of January 6th said, some people have urged me that I have this power.
That's what he was talking about.
But the truth of the matter is, that's not what he was asked to do by the president or by me.
He was asked merely to respond to state legislators.
Who had sent him letters saying our electoral votes are suspect, were issued after illegal elections because state election officials ignored our state law.
Give us five to ten days to conclude our investigation and then let you know whether those are the valid electors or not.
That's all he was asked.
And you can watch it in my speech on January 6th at the mall.
And you can watch it in the president's speech.
That's what he was asked.
The notion that the president and I had asked him to simply declare the president reelected is just blatantly false.
And, you know, and it gets picked up in the New York Times and then everybody runs with it.
But it's just blatantly false.
And you can watch the video on January 6th of what I asked and what the president asked.
It's very clear.
It's unambiguous.
Just delay things a little bit for these state legislatures to look at their electoral votes and then let you know whether they were valid or invalid.
That's all.
And he chose not to do that.
steve bannon
Hang on, hang on, hang on.
He said, oh, the process is sacrosanct.
Once it starts, it can't stop.
But didn't they, correct me if I'm wrong, once they came back from the events of the day and from the riot, didn't they change the process like a half a dozen times?
Is that just me?
Because I'm not a constitutional scholar.
Then he says, I can't change the process whatsoever.
This is sacrosanct.
This is what the Constitution says.
This is what the federal law says.
This is what I've got to do.
But he came back and they changed the process to allow Mitch McConnell and others to beat down on the President of the United States.
Am I correct in that statement?
unidentified
You're absolutely correct.
There is a sub-provision, a sub-section of the Electoral Count Act of 1887 that says once the joint session begins, it can't be adjourned.
And I said, are you going to stick with a minor procedural provision of statutory law and accept electoral votes that the legislatures of the states are telling you are illegal and therefore, you know, give effect to a presidential election that may be putting the wrong guy in the White House?
Which of those two things?
Are you going to violate the Constitution or are you going to violate that minor provision of the statute, which might be unconstitutional anyway?
That was the that was the thing that was confronted.
And he said, oh, no, we got to follow the law of the statute.
This subsection is so sacrosanct.
And then later in the night, another subsection of that same statute says the debate in the House and Senate shall not go longer than two hours.
And they went two and a half, three, three and a half hours.
This is not counting the time they were shut down because of the riots, but it went two and a half, three hours.
And then it says as soon as the vote is taken, they shall immediately reconvene in joint session.
And at that point, Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer made a motion, a joint motion, to have more time on their own to just, you know, blast the president.
Vice President Pence granted that motion, again in violation of the Electoral Count Act.
That was so sacrosanct, we couldn't do anything to let the legislatures finish their jobs.
steve bannon
You talk about this federal statute, the Electoral Count Act of 1877.
Is it not an open secret among constitutional scholars like yourself and lawyers that the act itself is unconstitutional?
They even knew it was unconstitutional when they wrote it.
They didn't have enough juice to actually get an amendment to the Constitution passed, so they just did this, understanding it would be challenged and it would be turned over.
Isn't that, by most constitutional scholars, deemed to be unconstitutional?
unidentified
Well, some provisions are probably constitutional, but others are not.
One that I think almost everybody agrees on is unconstitutional, is in the context if you've got two different certified slates of electors, one by the governor and one by the legislature, and the two houses can't agree on which to accept.
The statute says we accept the governor's slate, but Article 2 of the Constitution says the legislature has the sole power to determine the manner of choosing electors.
So I think that one's blatantly unconstitutional, and I think most constitutional scholars agree.
steve bannon
OK, last question.
Pence tweeted this out at one o'clock, right?
His letter, his letter, his thinking.
And the letter is actually inaccurate in his first two paragraphs about what the ask was, correct?
unidentified
Well, he's very clever.
He says some people have suggested I have this power.
He never comes out and says that that's what the president asked him to do.
And he sets up that phony straw man and has no discussion whatsoever in that letter about what he was actually asked to do.
steve bannon
You were the President's lawyer on this.
You had had conversations with his lawyers.
Did they ever come back and talk to you in a draft form of what they were about to promulgate that would roil world capital markets and kind of shock the nation?
Did they ever come back and say, hey, this is the direction we're heading and this is how it's going to be drafted.
We want to send you a draft just to make sure you guys have a heads up of what we're going to say.
unidentified
No, they didn't.
And if I had, if they had, I would have said that's not what the president has asked you.
Now, all of that was part of the discussion because of this law scholarship on the subject about how broad an authority the vice president had.
But I actually told him in that meeting of the Oval Office, I said, I said, I do not even if you have such authority, I do not think you should exercise it unless the alternative slate of electors was actually certified by the legislature.
Then we're at a different ballgame.
And what we're asking then is simply to delay it, to give the state legislators a chance to finish their review.
And why was that necessary?
Because the Democrat governors in these states, like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and the turncoat governor down in Georgia, Republican governor, refused to call the legislatures back into session to conduct the investigations that determine whether the electoral votes that had been issued after an election conducted And clear violation of state election law should nevertheless remain certified.
That was all that was asked in the end of the day, and he completely ignored that in his letter.
steve bannon
By the way, Mitch McConnell had in his hand from Corman in the state Senate in Pennsylvania a letter saying, hey, we want this back because the process was not done according to our Constitution by the Secretary of State.
I just want to make sure I'm very clear about this.
That Pence and his lawyer never came to you with a draft, never came to you with the language that was misinterpreted and, quite frankly, dead wrong about the President's ass.
They never came to you, they never came to the President, they never said review this draft before they just sent it out in Pence's imperial power.
unidentified
Yeah, never did.
And then, you know, you and I know probably who it is, leaked to the New York Times, The more aggressive position that was not what was asked.
And people don't have to speculate or take my word for it.
They can watch the video of my speech and of the President's speech on January 6th and see exactly what was asked.
steve bannon
We're going to pull that up tomorrow.
John Eastman, thank you very much.
You're a good man and a great patriot.
Thank you very much, sir, for being here on War Room Pandemic.
Thank you, Steve.
This issue is not going to go away, OK?
And we're not going to back off it, OK?
Pence made the wrong call, and it's unacceptable they did not send a draft for people to look at and to discuss before it went out.
Come back in a moment with Helen Andrews in the book The Boomers.
unidentified
War Room Pandemic with Stephen K. Bannon.
The epidemic is a demon, and we cannot let this demon hide.
War Room.
Pandemic.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
steve bannon
It's our first anniversary show.
We were all over the pandemic, gain of function, Tony Fauci, all of it one year ago.
Starting today, we're going to actually go through the whole first week of pandemic during the week, talk to you about what we talked about, bring you up to speed.
Breaking news though, Jack Pasovic?
jack posobiec
Uh, yeah.
Well, two pieces of breaking news.
Number one, the Chief of Staff of the Army just announced the following general officer assignments.
Lieutenant General Promotable, Charles A. Flynn, Deputy Chief of Staff, U.S.
Army, Washington, D.C.
Two, Commanding General, U.S.
Army, Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
That's the brother.
steve bannon
By the way, two sons that are three-star Army generals.
jack posobiec
Amazing.
steve bannon
Amazing.
The Flynn brothers.
General Flynn's brother has now been put in command of the Army of the Pacific, and trust me, that's a big assignment right now, given our difficulties in the South China Sea and with Taiwan.
A close colleague of ours.
jack posobiec
I want to mention, of course, we are following the reports about Brandon Straka, that he has been charged.
FBI apparently arrested him in Omaha.
We're following this.
We have the charging documents.
We're starting our analysis of it.
Obviously, it just happened, so we don't want to come back with anything just yet.
Looks like they're hitting him with three charges at this point.
Haven't heard any response from him yet, but yes, we are tracking.
steve bannon
Okay, people have been on me, not just for CNN in the background, but for drinking Red Bulls again.
So I've gone, there's a Patriot-owned company, winningdrinks.com.
Go to winningdrinks.com.
We're gonna put the thing up there.
This is sugar-free.
It's got Trump's picture on the front.
Hope they license the logo.
This is a, this is a company that fully supports, they're 100% back of the president.
It's a non, I guess it's a sugar-free drink.
It'll jack you up, but winningdrinks.com.
Make sure you go there, order some of it today.
This is Patriot-owned.
They don't believe in the cancel culture, okay?
Fantastic people over there.
Also, go to Populous Press.
You can see that they're all over.
They're a sponsor of Populous Press.
Populous Press does an amazing job, along with all the other great sites that we promote.
Okay, I want to go now.
There's a book out, Boomers, by Helen Andrews, and she's the editor over, one of the senior editors over the American Conservative, one of the best sites, best newspapers out there, legendary.
Her book is Boomers, the men and women who promised you freedom and delivered disaster.
Thank you very much for coming.
We're going to get the cover of the book up there too, Boomers.
We want people to go to Amazon and order this.
Talk to us about what drove you, because I'm a big believer in fourth turnings.
I'm a big believer in generational history.
But you really lay it out, and you don't paint a very pretty picture of boomers, ma'am.
unidentified
No, I don't.
The idea for the book originated with my generation, who are the Millennials, and who are, therefore, the Boomers' natural enemies.
I noticed that a lot of people in my generation were believing a lot of crazy things, like socialism, and I wanted to figure out why, and I realized that they believed in socialism because they felt like they didn't have anything invested in the system, like the system wasn't working for them.
If you want to ask people to be conservatives, You gotta give them something to conserve.
So this book was my attempt to figure out when things went wrong and why.
And it wasn't too hard to figure out that things were actually pretty good before the boomers came onto the scene.
And that they, uh, it wasn't a coincidence that the last time things were working pretty okay was before they were in charge.
steve bannon
Listen, here's the thing, and I made a film, Generation Zero, a decade ago, back in 2009, 2010, that talked about this.
The boomers are the children of the greatest generation.
So how do you have the greatest generation that sacrificed everything, came through the Great Depression, died on the battlefields, on the beaches of Normandy, in Tarawa, Peleliu, Saipan, sacrificed everything.
How did the generation that sacrificed more than any generation in history come up with kids They were undone by their own virtues.
unidentified
They were hoist by their own petard.
The greatest generation, understandably, wanted to give their kids, the boomers, the happy, easy upbringing that they never had.
Uh, and they succeeded.
The boomers came of age at a time of great prosperity, at a time when you could pay for a semester's tuition with a, you know, couple afternoons a week sweeping floors at the chemistry lab when college was cheap, jobs were plentiful.
And the boomers got the idea that everything would always be that easy.
And that's just infected every decision they've made since then.
The boomers truly don't understand how precarious Civilization can be, and that's why they've been a wrecking ball through most of America's institutions.
steve bannon
Helen, we talk about the long march of the institutions by the cultural Marxists.
Have the conservative boomers had the same bad effect on their side?
I mean, have they promised freedom, but they delivered disaster?
I know on the left they promised, you know, free love and all this, but what about, has it been equal disaster on both sides of the political spectrum?
unidentified
Absolutely.
The most, the boomer conservatives believe in a very boomerish way in individual choice, full stop.
That if we maximize everybody's ability to make choices for themselves, that's all we need to do.
We don't need to pay any attention to the quality of our institutions or community or the social fabric.
All of that will just sort itself out if we maximize individual choice, which of course isn't true.
On the other hand, not every baby boomer is a progressive, but the baby boomer legacy is a progressive legacy.
So definitely the left had more to do with the collapse of civilization than the right.
steve bannon
Helen, talk to us real briefly about the American conservative senior editor over there.
Directionally, editorially, what do you guys think is important now?
As you see over the other side of the hill, what should our audience, who's an activist audience, what should it be looking at?
unidentified
For a long time, Tack felt like a voice in the wilderness in the landscape of the right-wing media, like we were the only magazine out there dissenting from the kind of National Review, Weekly Standard orthodoxy of zombie Reaganism.
Well, ever, you know, since 2016, we've been right in the mainstream of where the conservative movement is going, which is great.
And now that we're moving into a Biden administration, I think we're going to stay there.
I think we're not, there's going to be no turning the clock back to the way things were before.
steve bannon
You know, Helen, you're a perfect guest of the war.
You're throwing out bombs left and right.
Okay, Helen Andrews, the book is boomers.
You've got to get it because it's going to start a lot of arguments.
What you should do is get it, read it, and then give it to your kids, and then it's going to cause real arguments.
Helen, we've got about a minute.
How do people, what are your coordinates on social media, and how can people get the book?
unidentified
You can find me and other great writers at theamericanconservative.com.
I am foolishly probably still on Twitter.
Where my handle is H-E-R Andrews.
And you can buy the book at Amazon or anywhere else that good books are sold.
It is Boomers!
The Men and Women Who Promised Freedom and Delivered Disaster.
steve bannon
Helen Andrews, Senior Editor at the American Conservator.
Thank you very much for joining us today on War Room Pandemic.
I want everybody in the audience to get a copy of this book and start the argument.
jack posobiec
You know, I actually got that book this weekend.
You didn't even tell me she was going to be on.
I already got that book on Saturday night.
steve bannon
I wanted to surprise you.
What's the thing in 15 seconds, what'd you like best about the book?
jack posobiec
What I like best is, it just describes that it was a different time and that time is over.
That time is not now.
steve bannon
I'm going to reissue my film Generation Zero now.
That'll cause, that's another, another, hey, the boomers did it to us.
Okay!
Am I a woke boomer?
jack posobiec
Very woke.
Base Boomer.
Base Boomer Bannon.
steve bannon
Tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
We'll be back.
