The Ben Shapiro Show - Ep. 240 - Trump Becomes President, All Hell Breaks Loose Aired: 2017-01-27 Duration: 16:50 === Women's March Controversy (02:19) === [00:00:00] One of the four chief organizers for the massive Women's March that took place on Saturday is a, quote, Palestinian-American Muslim racial justice and civil rights activist named Linda Sarsour. [00:00:09] Sarsour, who also served as a Democratic National Convention delegate, was honored by President Obama's administration as a champion of change. [00:00:17] Fittingly, she also posed in Chicago with an alleged Hamas financier. [00:00:20] Fitting, because Barack Obama used to give speeches in honor of Palestinian terror mouthpiece Rashid Khalidi. [00:00:25] So, what exactly drove Sarsour's ire during the Women's March? [00:00:28] Here's a clue from 2014. [00:00:35] Quote, If you wonder why hundreds of thousands of women declared themselves brave for marching in favor of taxpayer-funded condoms while doing nothing for women abroad who live in abysmal circumstances, this would be it. [00:00:48] A complete lack of perspective. [00:00:50] Maybe one reason Saudi Arabia is happy to pay for maternity leave is because they bribed their citizens not to rebel against the autocratic regime through massive welfare payments. [00:00:59] Maybe another reason is because the government wants to encourage women to stay home rather than working. [00:01:03] In Saudi Arabia, as The Week reports, women can't get a passport without the permission of a husband, father, or other male guardian. [00:01:09] Most women can't drive. [00:01:11] Women are prevented from wearing attractive clothing. [00:01:13] Go to public areas. [00:01:15] If you go to those areas that are non-segregated, they won't let you if you're a woman. [00:01:19] Or even try on clothes at stores. [00:01:21] This is just another piece of evidence that a government big enough to give you goodies is big enough to take away your rights. [00:01:26] And it turns out that people who think Saudi Arabia's maternity policies, rather than their restrictions on female driving, probably shouldn't be a guide to female freedom in the United States. [00:01:36] But the left would prefer never to focus on such matters, since that would obligate them to favor westernism rather than multiculturalism abroad as well as at home. [00:01:44] So much for the Women's March. [00:01:46] I'm Ben Shapiro. [00:01:46] This is The Ben Shapiro Show. [00:01:51] So many, so many things to get to today. [00:01:53] I am so excited about all of it. [00:01:55] First, the left had a very strong reaction to Donald Trump being sworn in on Friday, and it was all available in this little nutshell video. === Signals of Resistance (11:34) === [00:02:04] I think this embodied the primal fear of so many folks on the left, the outrage, and also I couldn't stop laughing at this for several days. [00:02:13] This is, just watch. [00:02:14] This is the presidential inauguration from NPR News, and you can hear the 21 gun salute. [00:02:20] In the background, another signal that for all of that resistance, for all of that opposition, Donald J. Trump is now President of the United States. [00:02:28] Darth Vader no from this lady. [00:02:38] Yeah. [00:02:39] It's spectacular. [00:02:40] So she waits until Trump gets inaugurated and then the no screaming to the sky. [00:02:45] Yeah, I'm sure this is going to win people over. [00:02:47] I'm sure that she just defeated Trump. [00:02:50] Trump isn't going to be president anymore. [00:02:52] Because this crazy lady, is that a dude or a lady? [00:02:54] I assume that's a lady, is screaming to the sky about Donald Trump. [00:02:58] So all of that is spectacular. [00:03:00] Okay, so before we jump into the substance of the day, and there's so much to get to, we have to say thank you to our sponsors over at Blue Apron. [00:03:06] So, several years ago my wife said to me, you know what the most annoying thing about cooking is? [00:03:10] The shopping. [00:03:11] The most annoying thing is the shopping. [00:03:12] Picking the recipe and then having to go out and shop and figure out what sort of portions to get and where to get the best ingredients. [00:03:18] Blue Apron solves all of that and they solve the recipe problem too. [00:03:22] So what they do is they allow you to pick from a list of recipes and then they send you The ingredients, these fresh ingredients from the recipes for less than $10 per person per meal. [00:04:17] They love it. [00:04:18] It's not expensive. [00:04:21] It is very, very fresh stuff. [00:04:22] And again, those first three meals you get free with free shipping by going to blueapron.com slash Shapiro. [00:04:29] The meal cooked to order, but you're the one who actually makes it and the ingredients come fresh so it doesn't feel all gross like it's from a restaurant. [00:04:36] Okay. [00:04:37] So much to talk about here. [00:04:38] Let's begin with the anti-Trump protests and the Women's March. [00:04:41] So, the left can't deal with the fact that Trump was sworn in on Friday. [00:04:45] And we'll get to Trump's inaugural speech in a second, because, as always, we like to be intellectually honest here at the Ben Shapiro Show. [00:04:53] It's something that we actually care about, so we're going to tell you the truth, not a bunch of crap that you want to hear, because if we did that, then we might have double the ratings, but we'd also have half the moral value. [00:05:01] So what we're interested in here at the Ben Shapiro Show is actually telling you the truth About what's happening in politics and in culture. [00:05:08] But first we begin with this truth. [00:05:10] The left does not know how to deal with Donald Trump. [00:05:11] So, at the inauguration, there are a bunch of people who go nuts and they start burning trash cans and they set a limo on fire. [00:05:18] You can see this tape of this limo on fire, this picture of this limo on fire. [00:05:25] There are rumors going around for a while it was Jesse Jackson's limo. [00:05:27] That turned out not to be true. [00:05:28] It would have been beautifully ironic if the protesters burned Jesse Jackson's limo in protest of Trump, but that turned out, I guess, not to have been true. [00:05:36] So they set this limo on fire, and look at how many members of the media there are. [00:05:41] They're just itching to create this perception like the world is burning, like everybody's going nuts. [00:05:46] The truth is, people are upset, but the world is not burning. [00:05:48] Nothing is going nuts. [00:05:49] It's all going to be okay. [00:05:50] The republic is pretty durable. [00:05:52] We've survived a lot worse than Donald Trump. [00:05:54] We've survived a lot better than Donald Trump. [00:05:56] The idea that everything is going to go nuts and cars will burn, everyone will die. [00:06:00] It's not true. [00:06:03] It's a bunch of crap. [00:06:05] So the left is burning things and if they think this is going to win allies, I don't know why they think it's going to win allies, but they did this and the media covered it up. [00:06:12] The YZ would be like, one burning car, 200 members of the media. [00:06:17] And you would see that, again, there were those burning trash cans. [00:06:21] I guess there were 219 total people who were arrested during the inauguration. [00:06:25] That's not a huge number of people arrested. [00:06:28] It's some people arrested, but the way that the media were playing it, right and left, were that there were these massive riots taking place in Washington, D.C. [00:06:34] Not true. [00:06:35] It was a pretty minimal number of people who were very upset. [00:06:38] Meanwhile, the media really played up this women's march. [00:06:41] So the day after the inauguration, all across the land, women left their homes and went out to march in the streets for something that we don't know what it is. [00:06:51] Honestly, I don't know why they were marching. [00:06:52] They were just out there to signal that they don't like Donald Trump or something. [00:06:56] No one knows quite why. [00:06:58] What do you want? [00:06:59] We don't know. [00:06:59] When do you want it? [00:07:00] Now! [00:07:01] So everybody, apparently, it was incumbent on everybody to bring a sign. [00:07:06] And they all brought signs. [00:07:08] A huge number of these signs were about abortion and also about pussycats for some reason. [00:07:12] I assume that the signs about pussycats were not in fact about pussycats. [00:07:16] They were just about Donald Trump and his comments on the Access Hollywood bus. [00:07:19] So some of these signs, you'll see like this one, is just sick, right? [00:07:23] It's a bleeding coat hanger that says on it, never again. [00:07:27] I don't know if these people understand irony at all, but you're using Code Hanger to kill babies, like a million babies a year. [00:07:35] So I'm not sure whether that's an anti-abortion sign or a pro-abortion sign. [00:07:38] If that's a pro-abortion sign, comparing not allowing people to murder babies in the womb to the Holocaust is a weird comparison. [00:07:46] That's one I haven't seen before. [00:07:48] Also, I love these ones that were produced by NARAL Pro-Choice America. [00:07:51] The National Abortion Rights Action League. [00:07:53] They don't like to call themselves that anymore because they don't like to use the word abortion. [00:07:56] But they produce these pre-made signs that say, keep your laws off my... and then it's a picture of a pussycat. [00:08:01] Right? [00:08:02] Okay. [00:08:05] A couple of points about this particular attack. [00:08:07] People were wearing what they were calling pussy hats. [00:08:09] Like pussy cats, but hats. [00:08:11] And these were supposed to protest Donald Trump, because Donald Trump is such a sexist. [00:08:15] If you want to drive Americans out of your camp, a quick way to do it is just keep saying things like pussy hats over and over and over. [00:08:22] And then talking about female anatomy. [00:08:25] A lot of these signs are super obscene. [00:08:27] There are a lot of kids who showed up to this thing, and there are a lot of really obscene signs. [00:08:31] Like, there was... We can look at some more of these. [00:08:35] Here's some more of these signs. [00:08:36] It says, we stand up for our human rights, planet, dignity, bodies, diversity, health, social justice, equality, America, women, environment, integrity. [00:08:43] That's a lot of things to stand up for. [00:08:44] And when do you sit down? [00:08:46] And then... [00:08:48] And these are some of the more innocuous signs. [00:08:50] We can see another another picture of the signs. [00:08:53] This is the people holding up signs of Trump just saying nope and we're watching. [00:08:58] But these are these are the not obscene signs. [00:09:00] Some of the really obscene signs like had full pictures of vaginas. [00:09:04] Like there's one that said read my lips but the the L in lips for some reason was just a giant vagina. [00:09:10] And then there was another one that said the patriarchy can suck my bleep. [00:09:13] Right? [00:09:13] And if this is supposed to make people feel bad about Donald Trump, I'm confused. [00:09:19] Half of the reason that the Trump tape was offensive is because of the casual way that he was addressing the female anatomy. [00:09:24] If you just keep shouting, The word pussycat without the cat over and over and over. [00:09:29] All that's going to happen is you desensitize people to the idea that it's kind of offensive to use that word publicly. [00:09:34] All you end up doing is just like your vulgarity is making Trump's vulgarity more acceptable not less acceptable. [00:09:39] But people in this women's march don't understand that or don't care. [00:09:43] The women's march didn't accomplish anything other than to make people feel solidified I guess in their opposition to Trump. [00:09:49] Apparently, Nate Silver did something I thought that was interesting. [00:09:52] He looked at how many people actually marched in various areas of the country, and what he found was 80% of all the people marching were marching in areas Hillary won. [00:10:00] So it doesn't matter, right? [00:10:01] It doesn't matter. [00:10:02] It wasn't like there's some big upswell in Ohio and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. [00:10:06] All the people who showed up were in Washington, D.C. [00:10:08] and in Los Angeles. [00:10:09] Okay, so the Women's March happens and the media make a huge deal out of it. [00:10:13] It's the biggest deal that ever happened. [00:10:14] The March for Life is happening this week. [00:10:16] They will immediately ignore it. [00:10:18] The March for Life will have twice as many people in DC alone as this march had across the country. [00:10:23] It won't matter. [00:10:23] They'll proclaim that it didn't even happen. [00:10:25] They'll cover it on page 812 of the New York Times. [00:10:27] That is actually media bias. [00:10:28] And we'll get to the media bias in a second. [00:10:31] First, we have to point out also that the celebrities got involved in this Women's March. [00:10:36] Madonna said that she went to the Women's March and then she said she wanted to blow up the White House, which is acceptable language if you are a crazy old kook that has more Botox in her than Nancy Pelosi's entire warehouse of Botox that exists in San Francisco. [00:10:51] Shh! [00:10:51] It's a secret. [00:10:52] But Madonna goes up there and here's what she has to say about the White House. [00:10:56] Yes! [00:10:57] I'm angry! [00:11:00] Yes! [00:11:01] I am outraged! [00:11:04] Yes! [00:11:06] I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. [00:11:12] Well, hold on. [00:11:13] If Ted Nugent said that with Obama there, how fast do you think Secret Service would be there? [00:11:17] Pretty damn quickly, right? [00:11:19] I mean, come on! [00:11:20] But Madonna can say it, and I guess people just assume the Botox has infused her brain and so she can't actually think anymore. [00:11:28] That's pretty amazing stuff. [00:11:30] Ashley Judd, who you remember was supposed to run for Senate in Kentucky, she hasn't made a movie since like 1932, I think. [00:11:37] She hasn't made a good movie since 1918, like the invention of the motion picture. [00:11:40] Ashley Judd was in it. [00:11:42] Was she ever in a good movie? [00:11:43] I'm not sure she was ever in a good movie, but she used to be a decent actress and very pretty. [00:11:48] Now she's just Ashley Judd. [00:11:51] So here's Ashley Judd talking about Donald Trump. [00:11:54] I am not as nasty as a swastika painted on a pride flag. [00:12:01] And I didn't know devils could be resurrected, but I feel Hitler In these streets, a mustache traded for a toupee. [00:12:12] Nazis renamed the cabinet electroconversion therapy. [00:12:18] The new gas chambers shaming the gay out of America, turning rainbows into suicide notes i am not as nasty as racism fraud conflict of interest homophobia sexual assault transphobia white supremacy you can stop her there because she's crazy and we're running out of time [00:12:42] so ashley judd says that the toupee is the new hitler is the new hitler mustache which which is interesting. [00:12:49] She also compares the gas chambers to electroconversion therapy. [00:12:52] This is a myth that they've been purveying about Mike Pence. [00:12:54] It's not true. [00:12:55] The idea that he's in support of electrocuting gay kids. [00:12:58] But she's saying all this stuff, and again, if they think that this is somehow going to win them converts, I don't know who the hell they're talking to. [00:13:05] Who are they talking to? [00:13:06] Dude, does Shia LaBeouf think he's winning converts to the anti-Trump cause with behavior like this? [00:13:10] Here's Shia LaBeouf, fresh off being dragged out of a Broadway show because he's totally insane, screaming at this party. [00:13:15] This is his best performance since at least Transformers 2. [00:13:19] Here is Shia LaBeouf. [00:13:20] - The existence of the white people. - He will not divide us. - He will not divide us. - He will not divide us. - Oh, just not divide us. - He will not divide us. === Why We Left The Left (03:25) === [00:13:34] He will not divide us! [00:13:37] Shia LaBeouf having a good time over here. [00:13:39] So, yes, I can't imagine that Americans are not paying attention to, I can't imagine that Americans are ignoring all of this stuff. [00:13:47] They're paying attention and they're going, if this is how the left responds, I thought that Trump was supposed to be crazy, right? [00:13:52] Trump was supposed to be the nutcase. [00:13:53] Uh-huh. [00:13:54] Uh-huh. [00:13:55] Yeah, you're making it real difficult for Americans to turn away from Trump when you act like this, gang. [00:14:01] Okay, we have to say thank you to another advertiser, and then we'll get to Trump's inaugural which I want to talk about in an honest way. [00:14:08] As I say, honesty above all else. [00:14:10] So if you are in dire need of casual wear, if you like sweatpants or sweatshirts or underwear or just great socks, all of this, you can get it at MackWeldon.com. [00:15:31] But first, I want to give a quick note on the Trump inaugural address to folks who have been waiting. [00:15:35] So it makes me sad we didn't have Friday shows yet that I couldn't respond immediately to the Trump inaugural. [00:15:40] But of course, the biggest takeaway was the fact that Donald Trump actually channeled Bane from Batman in the middle of this speech. [00:15:47] This is the actual mashup. [00:15:49] And giving it back to you, the people. [00:15:53] And we give it back to you, the people. [00:16:02] It actually is a direct quote, which is amazing. [00:16:05] But here's the thing. [00:16:06] Here's the thing. [00:16:08] This is obviously facetious. [00:16:09] Trump is not Bain. [00:16:11] But the sort of populism that Trump was espousing, this nationalist populism, has nothing to do with conservatism. [00:16:16] And we're going to have to break on Facebook and on YouTube, but you can go over to dailywire.com to see why. [00:16:22] We'll go through his entire inaugural, then we'll get to Sean Spicer. [00:16:24] We're going to do all of it in a very short period of time before Andrew Klavan breaks down the door with an axe. [00:16:29] So dailywire.com, if you want to become a subscriber, watch the rest, become part of the mailbag on Thursdays. [00:16:34] Make sure that you can watch the rest of my show live.
