00:15:19
|
|
| Music. | |
| All right, welcome to the latest episode of Blood Money. | |
| Today we have a very special guest, Maritza and Cynthia with her, who's going to help us through this interview. | |
| How are you doing, Maritza? | |
| Hi, how are you? | |
| Good to meet you. | |
| Yes. | |
| So I heard you have a wonderful restaurant. | |
| First, tell us about your restaurant and, you know, when you came to this country, you know, a little bit about the work that you do. | |
| Yes, I was chef in Miami. | |
| Later, I moved to West Allis. | |
| I opened my restaurant, the name is Chef Pat Restaurant. | |
| Okay, and it's Peruvian food? | |
| It's Peruvian food. | |
| I am chef Peruvian. | |
| Oh, very cool. | |
| Very cool. | |
| So, how long have you had that restaurant for? | |
| My restaurant has 13 years. | |
| Thirteen years. | |
| Wow. | |
| Wow. | |
| Okay. | |
| Okay. | |
| Cool. | |
| And you were, I mean, from what I hear, you were like, you know, Democrat and, you know, you were involved in, you know, you're a fan of Biden and Harris? | |
| Yes, I was a Democrat. | |
| Okay. | |
| I try to help my people Latin because I am a national citizen, but they tell me they want to help people inside in this country long years. | |
| And these people is paying taxes with ITIN. But the Voces de la Frontera call me several times. | |
| They say, I can help. | |
| I say yes. | |
| I make videos for the... | |
| because I want to get the... | |
| in specific days and the first of May or for May is the day, the celebration of the Hispanic heritage? | |
| No, no, no. | |
| Día de trabajo. | |
| Oh, yeah. | |
| Labor Day. | |
| Labor Day. | |
| They tell me that we want to stop. | |
| Okay, I make videos, records, so that all restaurants can be closed. | |
| And all restaurants, my friends, close the restaurant and support. | |
| And in the march, I do it in the first line with the banners. | |
| Do you know what I mean? | |
| But later I think about why I am in this party. | |
| Usually I was in this party because for my friends, a lot of friends, customers, do you know what I mean? | |
| And when in the When they are four years, I see that all things that they offer for the Latin people, | |
| for all over the Americans, they know They didn't do what they promised. | |
| She sees that they did not do what they promised in the four years in the administration. | |
| And until this point, she's been a Democrat, so she's been supporting Democrat causes. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Okay. | |
| Later I have one, one, one experience with one, one Latin right now is a state, state representative. | |
| State representative Brian Shemin. | |
| Brian Shemin in Wisconsin. | |
| He's from the GOP and she created a relationship with Brian Shemin. | |
| But with Brian I have long relationship because he's my customer. | |
| A long time ago. | |
| But I have another relationship with one She is in state number nine. | |
| District nine and her name is Priscila Prado. | |
| Priscila Prado. | |
| She makes troubles in my business because she keeps my bookings. | |
| She doesn't report anything IRS. I have Audi. | |
| It was a terrible time for me. | |
| It made me disappointed that right now she represents the state. | |
| So what she's saying is that this lady Priscilla Prado, she's from the District 9 representative, she's a Democrat, and Priscilla Prado was working with Maritza for Maybe a couple of years? | |
| I think a couple. | |
| One year. | |
| Okay, one year. | |
| And she was supposed to do her accounting for her business. | |
| And what happened was that she never did her job. | |
| And she never paid her taxes. | |
| She didn't report nothing. | |
| She didn't report taxes on Marisa's business behalf. | |
| Problems with IRS. It was a terrible situation. | |
| What is my surprise? | |
| The state representative, I say, what happened? | |
| I think I am in the wrong party. | |
| So then she woke up and she says, what happened? | |
| I think I'm in the wrong party. | |
| Because I can't put one party that's corrupt. | |
| I represent my state. | |
| Right. | |
| She says, I can't believe there's only one person that's corrupt in that party, you know? | |
| To do corruption, you have to have other corrupt people around you. | |
| Otherwise, you can't do it. | |
| Yeah. | |
| For this and other things, I move a Republican. | |
| Plus, I am Catholic. | |
| We always are thinking, say, I'm Catholic, why am I partying in another party? | |
| See, I am pro-life. | |
| All my life I am pro-life. | |
| But something, decision, you But now these friends bug me that they know nothing about me right now because they put bad reviews, they make crazy comments. | |
| No, it was terrible. | |
| I'm going to put some of these up. | |
| I actually made them for this episode. | |
| Let me show you here real quick. | |
| So this is somebody basically saying that they're very sad that I guess people are mistreating you online because you said you're voting for Trump. | |
| Yes. | |
| Uh-huh. | |
| Here, I'm going to scan through some of these. | |
| Some people support me. | |
| Some people support me. | |
| Yeah, this I was support because I remember with Tony Evers, I was the unique Latin friend in this campaign. | |
| I remember. | |
| So, he's a Democrat, right? | |
| Yes, I was, yes. | |
| Evers is a Democrat, correct. | |
| I was, yes. | |
| And then this guy, so this is somebody, it's getting cut off, but you're disappointed, somebody that's very disappointed at you for coming. | |
| Yes. | |
| And then really disappointed in chess, I won't eat there anymore. | |
| This is crazy. | |
| This is so crazy. | |
| I put for the first time because I don't see too many Trumps, Latins. | |
| I met with Cynthia and other friends. | |
| We are one big group right now that Latins support. | |
| Latins support Trump. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Yeah, yeah. | |
| This is funny. | |
| All my friends vote for Trump, all the Latin people. | |
| And she was harassing you. | |
| She is a crazy woman. | |
| Oh man, I don't know. | |
| She put me 30 reviews. | |
| I work all day. | |
| I can't. | |
| I'm sorry to laugh. | |
| It's so crazy. | |
| It was crazy. | |
| Three days was crazy. | |
| So in other words, people were wishing her, they were wishing her bankruptcy, death. | |
| Yes. | |
| Everything. | |
| Oh my god. | |
| Here, there's another one. | |
| Zero stars never support a Trump-loving business. | |
| Yes, yes. | |
| One doctor, one friend, and cause me a doctor. | |
| He work in Aurora. | |
| He said we can vote for a monster. | |
| I think he is a monster because he supports, he kills babies and abortion. | |
| Who is the monster right now? | |
| He is medical. | |
| He's doctor. | |
| He blocked me. | |
| Wishing you bankruptcy. | |
| Matt Taylor over here wishing you bankruptcy. | |
| Oh my God. | |
| That is crazy. | |
| Hang on. | |
| This is the one lady that did her wrong with the taxes. | |
| That's the picture of one lady that you see there. | |
| You just put in there, yeah. | |
| Wishing bankruptcy. | |
| We saw this one, Matt Taylor. | |
| Matt Taylor. | |
| He is so mad. | |
| Matt is so mad. | |
| I'm going to cut off most Republicans. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And this is a picture of you supporting Biden-Harris. | |
| Yes. | |
| It just seems like you're, you know... | |
| Yeah. | |
| All you're doing is you're voting. | |
| Oh my God. | |
| So how's it going now? | |
| Is it like, I mean, it seems like there's something that's boycotting you. | |
| One friend policeman called me and said, Maritza, you need to stop this. | |
| I help. | |
| I give you my support. | |
| You need to do this. | |
| You need... | |
| And get the names that these persons and your cell phone, you need to put one restriction order if they continue. | |
| You put stop, stop, stop several times and the police can have consideration for my- For your case, your harassment. | |
| For my case, for my harassment. | |
| But I put in my Facebook the law, that they continue The lawyer. | |
| That I need to do this in this way. | |
| But this moment, the people stopped. | |
| I put this... | |
| She said she posted the law on Facebook. | |
| She posted the law that they were harassing her and then they all of a sudden now stopped. | |
| It was the same people over and over again? | |
| Or... | |
| Yes. | |
| Oh wow, wow. | |
| Matt Taylor, Emily, and the other two ladies, and wishing her death, wishing her bankruptcy, wishing, I mean probably wishing her- Nurses, nurses and doctors need to have common sense and be gentle. | |
| Oh wow. | |
| This is a doctor wishing you bankruptcy. | |
| Oh my god. | |
| Oh my god. | |
| Okay, so let me ask you, is it like now, are you feeling the pain of losing customers or how is it now? | |
| No, I'm not losing customers. | |
| It's coming up with more people today. | |
| Yesterday, I received people there. | |
| They came from the Lock Haven Republicans. | |
| The Lock Haven Republicans. | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| It's the Gay for Trump movement. | |
| And they came to a restaurant. | |
| Oh, wow. | |
| Today she got two groups of conservative people visiting her restaurant, and I think that when she exposed these people on Facebook, that was what turned them on to support the restaurant. | |
| Wow, wow. | |
| That's amazing. | |
| First time I blocked, blocked, blocked. | |
| Later, I said, why are you not putting what happened with me? | |
| Because I can't stay all day in Facebook blocking the people. | |
| It was crazy. | |
| I don't can believe how the reaction of these people. | |
| I don't can believe. | |
| People, professionals, professionals, It's so crazy. | |
| If Trump won, there's a lot of people that are going to lose their minds. | |
| Like, yes, this is the guys we were talking about. | |
| I never think in this way. | |
| Wow. | |
| I'm glad Republicans are obviously noticing. | |
| So they're starting to come to your restaurant now. | |
| It seems like you're getting some new fans. | |
| Yes, I have new fans. | |
| But a lot of people to another party, they don't matter. | |
| They don't mix the things, the political with the food. | |
| So other Democrats don't mix it. | |
| A lot of Democrats have common sense. | |
| Yeah, yeah. | |
| We have always, and all parties, I think, okay, we have people. | |
| Extreme. | |
| Extreme. | |
| You know what I mean? | |
| Extreme. | |
| Yeah, yeah. | |
| Interesting, interesting. | |
| Well, is there any, do you have any social media set up? | |
| Is there places where people could find your restaurant, websites? | |
| Yeah, my website is www.chefpass.com. | |
| It's simple. | |
| And Facebook, Chef Pass Restaurant. | |
| And Instagram. | |
| And Instagram, Chef Pass. | |
|
Life in Milwaukee
00:03:41
|
|
| That is awesome. | |
| I can't wait to come back to Milwaukee. | |
| I'm looking forward to trying your food. | |
| I love Peruvian food. | |
| You need to try that Peruvian food. | |
| It's very good food. | |
| I come to my country because I don't like communist people. | |
| No. | |
| For this reason I am here. | |
| In four years I suffer because for the first time I let you know for the first time in 2023 I am losing my business. | |
| For the first time. | |
| Oh wow. | |
| Wow. | |
| Because of the bad economy. | |
| Bad economy. | |
| All my friends. | |
| I have a lot of friends. | |
| I call all my friends. | |
| I think I do bad things. | |
| I ruin them bad way. | |
| All my friends are in the same way. | |
| All restaurants are in the same way. | |
| We need help. | |
| We need help. | |
| The more soon possible because every week is closing restaurants. | |
| Every week closing business. | |
| Wow, wow. | |
| And that's thanks to who? | |
| That's thanks to who, Maritza? | |
| Yeah. | |
| Who caused that? | |
| Yeah. | |
| Who caused that? | |
| Who? | |
| Who? | |
| The administration. | |
| The administration, Biden, definitely, the things are high. | |
| It's super high. | |
| And around your restaurant? | |
| Around the restaurant is bad, the situation. | |
| It's all bad. | |
| I feel like I am Peru right now. | |
| Yeah, it does feel like we are in a third world country in a way, when we see the lawless people in the streets, the homeless people in the streets. | |
| A lot of illegal immigrants roaming around. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And, you know, garbage all over the place. | |
| So, it doesn't feel safe. | |
| We need one change. | |
| Definitely. | |
| America needs a change. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Yeah. | |
| 100%. | |
| 100%. | |
| It's crazy how bad it's got. | |
| And what's crazy about it is all these people that are attacking you. | |
| Like, they look like they're not really aware of what's happening on the streets. | |
| Like, they look like they're totally detached from it. | |
| Yeah, as if she's a threat to them or to the community and they're not really looking into, like you said, like the real problem. | |
| But right now I think I am one person that can help a lot of people in Milwaukee. | |
| Whatever you want, I can tell my people in West Alley or Milwaukee, the Latin people. | |
| Because usually the Latin people come to another country, communists. | |
| Do you know what I mean? | |
| We know. | |
| Nothing can lie. | |
| We know. | |
| And it's a lie that the Latinos, the Latino community in the country is uneducated that voted for Trump. | |
| That's a lie. | |
| We're not uneducated. | |
| We are pro-life. | |
| All Latin people are pro-life, pro-family, Christian. | |
| The religion is so important for us. | |
| We're conservative. | |
| The Latino is a conservative group. | |
| We believe in God, God first. | |
| Always. | |
| The problem is that the Latino community that's in this country has forgotten about it because they get too used to the modern day American. | |
| They go to the universities in the United States of America. | |
|

| The kids have been indoctrinated with all the The rhetoric of the Democrats, right? | |
| And that's what I see the problem. | |
| Now, also, I see that there's some young people in the 18, 19, 20s that are actually conservative. | |
| Yeah. | |
| Totally. | |
| They're seeing their roots. | |
| They're seeing that this is all propaganda and nonsense, you know? | |
| Mm-hmm. | |
| Yeah. | |
