[00:00:15] Here we go. [00:00:16] What does President Trump have to say? [00:00:18] And producers, once again, please let me know about what's going on with the feed and with President Trump and the. [00:00:33] White House. [00:00:34] The White House. [00:00:35] President Trump will be addressing the nation from the White House after his fifth assassination attempt. [00:00:40] Donald Trump. [00:00:41] Five assassination attempts that we know of. [00:00:44] No doubt there are dozens more that we don't. [00:00:46] Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and law enforcement did a fantastic job. [00:00:50] They acted quickly and bravely. [00:00:52] The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we let the show go on, but I will entirely be guided by law enforcement. [00:01:00] They'll make their decision shortly. [00:01:01] Regardless of that decision, an evening will be much different than planned, and we'll just Plane has to do it again, says President Trump. [00:01:10] Okay, ladies and gentlemen. [00:01:14] Here we go. [00:01:14] President Trump. [00:01:15] Law enforcement has requested that we leave the premises. [00:01:21] Consistent with protocol, which we will do immediately. [00:01:26] I will be giving a press conference in 30 minutes from the White House press briefing room. [00:01:29] This is what we are waiting right now. [00:01:31] The First Lady, plus the Vice President, and all of our cabinet members are in perfect condition. [00:01:35] We will be speaking to you in half an hour. [00:01:38] I've spoken to all of the representatives in charge of the event, and we will be rescheduling within 30 days. [00:01:44] Donald Trump says he will be rescheduling the White House Correspondents' Dinner within 30 days. [00:01:49] Okay. [00:01:50] All right. [00:01:52] Let's jump into some of the breaking news right now. [00:01:56] This is how I want Donald Trump to give every speech. [00:01:58] Hopefully, this is how President Trump gives his next speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. [00:02:04] Donald Trump will be giving a speech shortly from the White House, he'll be giving remarks from the White House. [00:02:10] Stay down, President Trump and others are evacuated from the correspondence dinner. [00:02:15] Reports of possible shots fired. [00:02:17] There were shots fired. [00:02:19] Brian Stelter live on CNN. [00:02:21] I heard a loud sound. [00:02:23] It was like a plate of dinner meals falling down. [00:02:26] It's like Brian Stelter's dream, as long as they're falling down right into his mouth. [00:02:30] One of the poor waiters, but I have no idea. [00:02:33] Yeah, well, it was gunshots, dude. [00:02:38] Here we go. [00:02:42] Many people have been posting this. [00:02:43] It's something that is certainly concerning. [00:02:46] I left the White House Correspondence Center after having an uneasy feeling. [00:02:49] There was no such security bag checks that I thought was suspicious. [00:02:52] Everybody was ushered in and shoved through the doors to make way for Secret Service dogs. [00:02:56] Tickets were barely looked at, monitoring the situation and praying that everyone is safe. [00:03:01] Here's the Secret Service's response to this, yet again, threat. [00:03:07] On the president's life. [00:03:08] I'm not sure if it is a security failure yet, but it sure seems so, as we just don't have any capacity to keep the president safe, it seems. [00:03:19] Again, again, this is the fifth assassination attempt on President Trump. [00:03:24] We will provide updates as they become available and confirm information. [00:03:27] Our teams are on the ground assessing the situation and investigating. [00:03:30] All protectedes are safe, says the spokesperson for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmini, who has remained in his position even though he straight up lied. [00:03:42] About the Butler rally, which is remarkable. [00:03:46] United States Secret Service shooting incident at the White House Correspondence Center. [00:03:48] The U.S. Secret Service, in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Department, is investigating a shooter incident at the Maine Magnetometer screening area at the White House Correspondence Center. [00:03:58] The President and the First Lady are safe and all protected. [00:04:01] One individual is in custody. [00:04:03] The condition of those involved is not yet known. [00:04:05] Law enforcement is actively assessing the situation. [00:04:09] Okay. [00:04:10] So let's go ahead and get firsthand. [00:04:12] Accounts from those who are there, and also a reminder that we are awaiting the president and his comments from the White House press dais where Donald Trump will be speaking soon. [00:04:29] You can see here a live shot of the press room. [00:04:39] Yeah, this is what we got. [00:04:41] So we got a stand up live shot of the press room. [00:04:44] Please, ladies and gentlemen. [00:04:47] Bear with us again as we're doing this just from a hotel room. [00:04:54] And the press have packed in there. [00:04:57] ALX, pay attention to C SPAN. [00:04:58] I want to get a two minute warning here for all of this. [00:05:02] But here we go. [00:05:03] There's a live shot from the press room where President Trump will be speaking soon about the new assassination attempt on his life. [00:05:11] Okay. [00:05:12] Hello from backstage. [00:05:13] We're at a hold behind the stage right now. [00:05:15] Staffers are going out to reset the head table. [00:05:18] POTUS never left and is down the hall from me. [00:05:20] He wants the show to go on. [00:05:22] We're told his details. [00:05:23] Somebody tried to get through the magnetometers with a gun. [00:05:26] The counter assault team did their job. [00:05:28] Unclear what that means. [00:05:29] The specifics are now off site. [00:05:32] POTUS was evacuated to a holding room. [00:05:35] The rest of us from the head tables down the hall from him. [00:05:40] Secret Service had to determine if there were any other threats. [00:05:43] They're being told that there are no threats. [00:05:44] The building is not being evacuated. [00:05:47] We're waiting for staff to reset the head table to resume the program. [00:05:50] This. [00:05:51] Did not happen. [00:05:52] President Trump was taken away. [00:05:54] He is at the White House right now, and he will be speaking soon. [00:05:59] Okay. [00:06:00] Ladies and gentlemen, this is the shot, the live shot of the White House. [00:06:07] Where you can see Caitlin Collins, Peter Ducey, some of the regulars in their tuxedos doing their stand up hits, every seat filled, awaiting the president. [00:06:20] I cannot believe they're going to continue the dinner after a guy was shot to death. [00:06:26] Scenes from Dystopia. [00:06:28] Are they going to continue the dinner? [00:06:29] I'm not exactly certain. [00:06:32] Some of the commentators at the dinner saying that. [00:06:36] There was very lax security. [00:06:38] I mean, this is what's going to happen next. [00:06:40] What's going to happen next is people are going to say, well, wait a second. [00:06:42] How the, if you had every cabinet secretary there, and I know as a matter of fact, at least half the cabinet was there. [00:06:49] If the Secretary of Energy, Robert Kennedy, Kash Patel was there, Janine Pura was there, Caroline Levitt was there, various members from the White House were all there. [00:07:00] What, like, you know, this is probably the single most high profile dinner in Washington. [00:07:06] All year long, and somebody was able to charge it with a firearm. [00:07:12] Let's go ahead and see. [00:07:14] How did somebody get a gun into the White House Correspondence Center? [00:07:16] Honestly, if somebody went, there was no security. [00:07:18] You just showed your ticket, and you were able to completely get in. [00:07:20] There was just no pat downs, no metal detectors, nothing going on. [00:07:24] So, really a horrible setup, and I just don't even understand how that was a thing when the United States president was going to speak who has already had assassination attempts on his life. [00:07:34] So, really crazy. [00:07:37] Okay. [00:07:41] Yeah. [00:07:41] Okay. [00:07:42] Got it. [00:07:44] Yeah, ladies and gentlemen, sorry for the echo there. [00:07:46] Again, we're doing this from a hotel room. [00:07:48] We'll lock it in as we lock in these photos. [00:07:52] These are the photos of the potential assassin who is getting medical treatment right now. [00:08:05] Our best production team is. [00:08:08] Some of them are on site, and everyone is online. [00:08:14] And so we will get you more. [00:08:15] You can see here chaos from law enforcement as they have shot the potential gunman. [00:08:24] Exclusive images after staffer showing the suspected gunman in the 2026 White House Correspondence Center tackled to the ground by Secret Service at the Washington Hilton. [00:08:34] Some say that he was shot. [00:08:40] Oh, let's go. [00:08:49] So you can see the military there and some of the law enforcement there yelling and screaming at reporters to move along. [00:08:57] Image unconfirmed of the body of the shooter at the White House correspondence dinner. [00:09:00] Multiple shots were fired at the White House correspondence dinner. [00:09:02] President Trump was in attendance. [00:09:04] Los Angeles Times reporter heard five to six gunshots ring out shortly before, and you could hear them actually on the video. [00:09:12] You can hear them in real time. [00:09:17] And, ladies and gentlemen, we'll play that video for you once again in just one moment. [00:09:20] According to multiple on scene witnesses, an unknown man dashed toward the dining area. [00:09:25] He was met with gunfire. [00:09:27] One hotel security guard said that she observed an individual with a firearm. [00:09:31] Several of the witnesses said they were unsure if the individual was possessing a weapon. [00:09:35] Okay. [00:09:38] Here we go. [00:09:40] So, this is what you got right here. [00:09:46] You can see sort of the cellophane. [00:09:48] Trauma blanket that is lying over what seems to be an individual that is being guarded, handcuffed, and thrown to the ground. [00:09:56] A male. [00:09:58] No way to really tell much more about it, but he is a male who's been stripped naked and thrown to the ground. [00:10:05] This is your assassin right here. [00:10:11] This is your first images. [00:10:12] There are a ton of unconfirmed reports as to who this individual actually is. [00:10:17] We have no idea. [00:10:18] We don't know. [00:10:20] But then again, we know nothing about. [00:10:22] Thomas Matthew Crooks. [00:10:24] We know very little about Ryan Routh. [00:10:28] Trump will be coming out shortly, ladies and gentlemen. [00:10:31] Here is further confirmation as to what happened. [00:10:37] Shooter walked in the door of Washington Hilton. [00:10:40] Again, this is a very important location because this is the location where Ronald Reagan was shot and nearly murdered, the exact same hotel just feet away from where Trump was tonight. [00:10:52] Attempted to storm a security checkpoint. [00:10:55] The shooter opened fire and hit a Secret Service agent in a protective vest. [00:11:00] So, could have killed the Secret Service agent. [00:11:02] The shooter was apprehended. [00:11:03] The agent is said to be okay. [00:11:07] This will no doubt be a raised debate. [00:11:10] Well, for DHS funding this week. [00:11:14] All right, ladies and gentlemen. [00:11:18] President Trump here. [00:11:26] Potentially coming out at any moment onto the national press dais. [00:11:34] Here is the president. [00:11:38] ALX, do we have a White House feed? [00:11:46] Here we go. [00:11:46] This is the moment. [00:11:50] This is the moment, ladies and gentlemen. [00:11:52] You can see. [00:11:56] Do we have a White House feed yet? [00:11:58] Yeah, sorry, guys. [00:11:59] We are moving quickly here. [00:12:05] President Trump, due soon. [00:12:13] Load it up. [00:12:26] Again, this is what it looked like. [00:12:45] during the actual event. [00:13:06] And now we have confirmation that the White House Correspondents Dinner has in fact been canceled. [00:13:18] I'm sure this comes as absolutely no surprise to people. [00:13:20] How did somebody get a gun into the White House correspondence dinner? [00:13:22] Honestly, as somebody went, there was no security. [00:13:24] You just showed. [00:13:26] Okay. [00:13:30] Well, here we go. [00:13:31] The Trump speech will begin shortly. [00:13:35] There are a number of unconfirmed reports as to who was. [00:13:42] We're just going to have the White House holding screen up. [00:13:47] Unconfirmed reports as to who the gunman was. [00:13:52] But we don't know. [00:13:55] We just seriously don't know at this point. [00:13:59] So we're going to stay with it. [00:14:03] Preliminary and unconfirmed from a D.C. cop friend the shooter never got through the security service perimeter. [00:14:09] The Secret Service engaged and neutralized the shooter outside of the mags. [00:14:12] This is the magnetometers. [00:14:14] The security worked as planned and as intended. [00:14:19] Okay, the moment President Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondence Center, loud noises were heard. [00:14:24] This is a different angle. [00:14:26] You can see here, again, we are awaiting President Trump. [00:14:33] We are awaiting President Trump's remarks on this. === Shooter Neutralized Outside Mags (02:37) === [00:14:44] Let's go ahead and... [00:14:44] Sorry. [00:15:29] ladies and gentlemen, here we go. [00:15:30] A friend sent me this photo as she walked out at the demonstrators' waving sign that says death to tyrants and death to all of them, just in case you're wondering if the actual attempted shooting would make them feel any shame. [00:15:44] The cowards won't stop, either will this POTUS. [00:15:48] Don't bet against President Trump. [00:15:51] Marco Rubio finding out they're about to resume the dinner anyway. [00:15:55] Of course, there's a Marco Rubio meme for everything. [00:16:00] Video shows the alleged shooter on the ground, Secret Service Washington Hilton, following the shooting of the Correspondents' Dinner. [00:16:07] Let's go ahead and watch this. [00:16:15] Scooch over to fight the white silver foil at the top of the stairs. [00:16:53] So this is really important. [00:16:56] President Trump has just shared and seemingly confirmed this video of the shooter. [00:17:04] Uh oh, here we go. [00:17:06] There it is. [00:17:07] This is live. [00:17:07] This just happened. [00:17:09] Here is the shooter. [00:17:12] You can see him here. [00:17:14] He has a mustache, potentially of Middle Eastern descent. [00:17:19] Potentially. [00:17:21] Okay, here we go. === FBI Examines Shooter Background (14:43) === [00:17:22] And this, ladies and gentlemen, just shared. [00:17:27] And President Trump. [00:17:28] It's unified. [00:17:29] I saw a room that was just totally unified in one way. [00:17:32] Very beautiful. [00:17:33] A very beautiful thing to see a man charged a security checkpoint armed with multiple weapons. [00:17:41] And he was taken down by some very brave members of the Secret Service, and they acted very quickly. [00:17:46] And I've just released, for purposes of transparency and clarity, I've ordered it to be put out. [00:17:55] You probably have it by now put out on truth and put out. [00:17:58] On many of the platforms. [00:18:00] A tape showing the violence of this thug that attacked our Constitution and also showing how quickly Secret Service and law enforcement acted on our country's behalf really did a great job. [00:18:15] One officer was shot, but saved by the fact that he was wearing obviously a very good bulletproof vest. [00:18:23] He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job. [00:18:32] I just spoke to the officer, and he's doing great. [00:18:34] He's in great shape. [00:18:36] He has very high spirits, and we told him we love him and respect him. [00:18:45] And he's a very proud guy. [00:18:47] He's very proud of what he does, Secret Service agent. [00:18:51] And we looked at all of the conditions that took place tonight, and I will say, you know, it's not a particularly secure building. [00:19:03] And I didn't want to say this, but this is why we have to have all of the attributes of what we're planning at the White House. [00:19:13] It's actually a larger room and it's much more secure. [00:19:17] It's drone proof, it's bulletproof glass. [00:19:20] We need the ballroom. [00:19:21] That's why Secret Service, that's why the military are demanding it. [00:19:25] They've wanted the ballroom for 150 years for lots of different reasons, but today's a little bit different because today we need levels of security that probably nobody's ever seen before. [00:19:38] But everyone owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to the courage of law enforcement, the law enforcement, and working with the D.C. police. [00:19:49] And we just spoke with the mayor. [00:19:51] And when we're finished, the police chief is going to take over and Discuss it also from their viewpoint, but they also performed exactly as they were supposed to. [00:20:04] And you see the attacker in different positions, but you also see the attacker totally subdued and under control. [00:20:13] So, as you know, this is not the first time in the past couple of years that our republic has been attacked by a would be assassin who sought to kill in Butler, Pennsylvania, less than two years ago. [00:20:25] You all know that story, and in Palm Beach, Florida, a few months after that. [00:20:30] We came close. [00:20:31] We really had, again, we had some great work done by law enforcement. [00:20:38] But in light of this evening's events, I ask that all Americans recommit with their hearts in resolving our difference peacefully. [00:20:47] We have to resolve our differences. [00:20:49] I will say you had Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Conservatives, Liberals, and Progressives. [00:20:57] Those words are interchangeable, perhaps, but maybe they're not. [00:21:00] But yet, everybody in that room, big crowd, Record setting crowd. [00:21:04] There was a record setting group of people, and there was a tremendous amount of love and coming together. [00:21:12] I watched, I watched, and I was very, very impressed by that. [00:21:17] But we were, First Lady and I were taken very well care of, very quickly, very quickly, rushed off the stage. [00:21:27] Vice President JD Vance, who's here, was likewise. [00:21:32] Beautifully done. [00:21:33] He was just saying how quickly everybody acted, law enforcement, Secret Service in particular in this case, but law enforcement. [00:21:40] Marco had the same thing. [00:21:42] Pete was there. [00:21:42] Pete didn't want any help. [00:21:43] He didn't want anybody to help him. [00:21:45] He doesn't want anybody to help him, but he did get some, didn't you? [00:21:49] And I think you also said that it was very impressive. [00:21:53] So, with that, I'd like to ask Todd Blanch to come up, say a few words, and tell you it's already underway. [00:22:02] The man has been captured. [00:22:06] They're going to his apartment. [00:22:08] I guess he lives in California. [00:22:10] And he's a sick person, a very sick person. [00:22:13] And we don't want things like this to happen. [00:22:15] I think it's very important that I say, though, and I told the representatives of the evening, they did such a beautiful job. [00:22:21] It was such a beautiful evening. [00:22:23] And again, they're talking about free speech in our Constitution. [00:22:26] That's what it's all about, not just White House correspondence. [00:22:30] It was really based on free speech in our Constitution. [00:22:34] But I said very importantly that. [00:22:36] We'll do it again within the next 30 days and we'll make it bigger and better and even nicer. [00:22:43] So I just want to thank everybody that was involved. [00:22:46] I also want to thank the press, the media. [00:22:49] You've been very responsible in your coverage, I will say. [00:22:51] I've been seeing what's been out. [00:22:53] You've been very responsible. [00:22:54] So, Todd Blench, I'd like to say a few words. [00:22:56] I know we're going to have cash. [00:22:58] And then you're going to go on. [00:23:00] We can ask, I guess we can take a couple of questions. [00:23:04] I want to thank the First Lady for that was a rather traumatic experience for her. [00:23:10] There was a lot of action taking place up there very quickly. [00:23:14] But again, the response time was really incredible. [00:23:18] And we're going to reschedule. [00:23:20] We're going to do it again. [00:23:21] We're not going to let anybody take over our society. [00:23:24] We're not going to cancel things out because we can't do that. [00:23:28] We wanted to stay tonight. [00:23:29] I will tell you, I fought like hell to stay. [00:23:33] But it was protocol. [00:23:36] They said, please, sir, because they didn't know there was a lot of action. [00:23:40] Going on, and they didn't know could there be probably a lone shooter, but we'll find out, we'll find out very quickly. [00:23:46] They have it very well under control. [00:23:48] So, I want to thank everybody very much, and Todd Blanch, please. [00:23:55] Thank you very much, Mr. President. [00:23:58] Tonight you saw the very worst and the very best of this country. [00:24:03] You saw the very worst by the actions of that coward that the President just talked about. [00:24:08] But you also saw the very best because you saw law enforcement do exactly what they're supposed to do. [00:24:13] And you'll see the videos come out, I expect, very shortly. [00:24:16] And you'll see law enforcement do exactly what we want them to do. [00:24:20] And so I echo what President Trump just said. [00:24:24] That we are extraordinarily grateful and appreciative of the men and women of law enforcement that did their jobs tonight, including one who was injured. [00:24:33] This investigation is ongoing. [00:24:34] I expect you will see charges filed shortly. [00:24:38] The charges should be self evident given the conduct, but as you'll hear, there will be multiple charges around the shooting, around the possession of firearms, and anything else that we can get on this guy. [00:24:51] The investigation is obviously ongoing and just started. [00:24:55] There is federal law enforcement already working on search warrants and doing their job, and I don't want to get ahead of them and don't want to get ahead of the work that they're doing even as we speak. [00:25:06] Director Patel and I were just on the crime scene a short while ago, and everybody in this room should rest assured that the Metropolitan Police Department, the FBI, Secret Service, everybody's on the scene doing their job. [00:25:20] I know that the police chief is going to give an update from the scene as soon as we're finished here, and I obviously will lead the details of what they have learned. [00:25:29] To him, but in the meantime, I just want to thank everybody in this room for the courage. [00:25:37] And I want to thank President Trump for his words, and I promise you justice will be served. [00:25:43] Thank you. [00:25:44] Director Padilla. [00:25:47] Thank you, General. [00:25:47] Thank you, Mr. President. [00:25:49] The President's absolutely right. [00:25:51] You saw the best resolve of American law enforcement because you, Mr. President, inspire them 24 7, 365. [00:25:57] You give them the resources that they need, and you know, they know that you have their back. [00:26:01] And that is a changing dynamic in this country, and that's why you saw brave Secret Service agents respond immediately, swiftly, subdue and take down the suspect, and safeguard the lives of thousands of individuals at that hotel. [00:26:13] Thanks to our interagency partnership with the Department of Homeland Security and the Metropolitan Police Department, the FBI was rapidly deployed onto the scene, took over the evidence response unit, is examining all the ballistics that were found on scene to include the long gun and the shell casings. [00:26:27] We are conducting witness interviews as we speak. [00:26:30] You will hear from our team on the scene there with the mayor and the head of the FBI field division there. [00:26:35] But please know what the Attorney General has just said reigns no truer. [00:26:38] You saw the very best of America tonight, the very best unite us at a time of uncertainty because we have leadership here with the President and the Vice President that backs law enforcement. [00:26:48] And the men and women that I shook their hands on the scene today could not have been prouder to show up on scene. [00:26:53] And as the Attorney General said, make no mistake, we are conducting witness interviews. [00:26:57] If you have any information, any information whatsoever related to this event, 1-800-CALL-FBI. [00:27:04] 1-800-CALL-FBI. [00:27:04] No piece of information is too small. [00:27:06] No piece of information is inadequate. [00:27:08] We will evaluate it all. [00:27:09] We will also be conducting interviews of those that were there. [00:27:12] And if any of those individuals have information, please come forward to law enforcement or the FBI or the Metropolitan Police Department. [00:27:18] We will be examining this individual's background thoroughly. [00:27:21] That process has already started. [00:27:23] And we are going to ensure that he was either a lone wolf actor or anyone else that was responsible. [00:27:27] We will analyze all evidence immediately to make sure that we safeguard this country. [00:27:32] Mr. President, Mr. Vice President, thank you for your leadership. [00:27:34] Attorney General and Homeland Secretary Mullen, thank you for your partnership in law enforcement. [00:27:38] Thank you. [00:27:40] Okay, we'll do a couple and then we go to the chair. [00:27:43] Madam Chairman, I just want to say you did a fantastic job. [00:27:48] What a beautiful evening, and we're going to reschedule. [00:27:54] And after that, it's very tough for her to ask a killer question, right? [00:27:58] But you have done a fantastic job. [00:27:59] Please. [00:28:00] Mr. President, I appreciate it. [00:28:02] As you mentioned, it all happened so quickly. [00:28:05] And I wonder, especially because unfortunately you have experience with these sorts of threats. [00:28:14] In that moment when you realized there was a threat and service agents were telling us to get down, can you describe what was playing through your mind, how you were feeling in that moment? [00:28:26] That's a very good question, actually. [00:28:29] It's always shocking when something like this happens. [00:28:31] It happened to me a little bit, and that never changes. [00:28:37] The fact, we were sitting right next to each other, the First Lady on my right, and I heard a noise and sort of thought it was a tray. [00:28:46] I thought it was a tray going down. [00:28:49] I've heard that many times, and it was a pretty loud noise. [00:28:52] And it was from quite far away. [00:28:54] He hadn't breached the area at all. [00:28:57] They really got him. [00:28:59] So it was quite far away, but it was a gun. [00:29:01] And some people really understood that pretty quickly, other people didn't. [00:29:08] I was watching to see what was happening, probably should have gone down even faster. [00:29:13] Melania was very cognizant, I think, of what happened. [00:29:16] I think she knew immediately what happened. [00:29:19] She was saying, that's a bad noise. [00:29:22] And we were whisked away along with other people, but we were really whisked away. [00:29:30] And again, the performance of the Secret Service and the police. [00:29:34] All of the law enforcement, I thought it was really good. [00:29:36] So it was very quick. [00:29:38] There wasn't a lot of time to be thinking because it was a matter of seconds before we were out the door and gone into an area. [00:29:45] We very much, and you wanted to too, we very much wanted to continue it because I don't like to let these sick people, these thugs, these horrible, horrible people change the fabric of our life, change the course of what we do. [00:29:59] So we held out. [00:30:01] You were there. [00:30:01] We held out right till the end, but they didn't want to take a chance, and I understand there was protocol. [00:30:06] But we're going to be doing one hopefully within the next 30 days or sooner. [00:30:10] And I am ready, willing, and able. [00:30:13] And I was all set to really rip it. [00:30:17] And I said to my people, this would be the most inappropriate speech ever made if I said so. [00:30:22] I'll have to save it. [00:30:23] I don't know if I could ever be as rough as I was going to be tonight. [00:30:27] I think I'm going to be probably very nice. [00:30:28] I'll be very boring the next time, but we're going to have a great event. [00:30:31] And you did a fantastic job. [00:30:33] Thank you very much. [00:30:34] Peter, go ahead. [00:30:35] Thank you, President Trump. [00:30:36] There's a report in the New York Post that this assailant. [00:30:40] Assembled his weapon somewhere on site at the hotel. [00:30:45] What do you think about that? [00:30:47] And I asked respectfully why do you think this keeps happening to you? [00:30:54] Well, you know, I've studied assassinations, and I must tell you the most impactful people, the people that do the most, you take a look at the people, Abraham Lincoln, I mean, you go through the people that have gone through this where they got them. [00:31:13] But the people that do the most, the people that make the biggest impact, they're the ones that they go after. [00:31:20] They don't go after the ones that don't do much because they like it that way. [00:31:25] And when you look at the people that have. [00:31:28] Either whether it was an attempt or a successful attempt, they're very impactful people. [00:31:34] Just take a look at the names there, the big names. [00:31:38] And I hate to say I'm honored by that, but I've done a lot. [00:31:43] We've done a lot. [00:31:45] We've taken this country and we were a laughing stock for years, and now we're the hottest country anywhere in the world. [00:31:50] We've changed this country, and there are a lot of people that are not happy about that. [00:31:56] So I think that's the answer, Peter. [00:31:57] And for Patrick Butler. [00:31:58] Your team for a while rethought outdoor events. [00:32:02] Yeah. [00:32:02] Do you think that you now need to rethink indoor events? [00:32:04] Well, but then you just don't do events. === Dangerous Profession Targets Leaders (09:19) === [00:32:06] No, I can't do that. [00:32:07] I have to, you know, it is what it is. [00:32:09] We have to do it. [00:32:11] The room was very, very secure. [00:32:13] You know, he charged from 50 yards away, so he was very far away from the room. [00:32:17] And what did you think when you saw the video of how fast he was running? [00:32:20] He was moving. [00:32:21] He was really moving. [00:32:23] And the reaction time was great. [00:32:24] Boy, those guys, they had their guns drawn literally by the time he was there. [00:32:28] They were shooting. [00:32:30] That's right. [00:32:30] I thought they were very impressive. [00:32:32] I thought they were very impressive. [00:32:34] And if I didn't, I'd let you know. [00:32:36] I'm not going to be, I would not stand for that. [00:32:39] No, I thought they were very impressive. [00:32:40] Thank you, President Trump, and thank you for updating us on the suspect earlier. [00:32:44] Were you aware of any threats? [00:32:45] Were your team aware of any threats beforehand? [00:32:49] And do you believe you were the target of this tonight? [00:32:52] I guess. [00:32:52] I mean, these people, they're crazy. [00:32:55] They're crazy. [00:32:55] And, you know, you never know. [00:32:57] It was very far away from me. [00:32:58] I had to go through a lot. [00:33:02] We had resources all over. [00:33:03] We had resources sitting at tables, literally in disguise, sitting maybe at your table, who knows. [00:33:09] But we had people all over the room, so he had a long way to go. [00:33:13] That was really a first line of defense, and they got him. [00:33:17] And they really, you know, they acted incredibly. [00:33:19] No, we've had no. [00:33:22] There was no notification. [00:33:23] We had no idea. [00:33:24] Go ahead, Kate. [00:33:24] Do we have any political motivations from this? [00:33:26] Well, you never know. [00:33:27] Now, we'll be able to tell you that maybe by tomorrow or the next day. [00:33:31] You know, he's in custody and they're asking him a lot of questions. [00:33:35] I guess they're going over, Todd, and they're already at his apartment. [00:33:38] He lives in California. [00:33:40] Yes, sir. [00:33:41] And they're over there, so they'll be able to tell you. [00:33:44] Thank you, Kate. [00:33:44] President Trump, did the suspect say anything or was he wearing anything that would allege some type of motive here? [00:33:54] Nothing. [00:33:54] No, I mean, he was a guy who looked pretty evil when he was down. [00:33:59] You know, they had him down. [00:34:00] He was fighting hard. [00:34:01] He was, in my opinion, a sick person. [00:34:04] Who would do that but a sick person? [00:34:07] But I think you're going to find everything about him. [00:34:08] No reason to talk about it now. [00:34:10] But tomorrow at this time, long before this time, you're going to know a lot of things about him. [00:34:16] They seemed to think he was a lone wolf, and I feel that, too. [00:34:19] Are you concerned about U.S. Secret Service protection ability? [00:34:23] We saw several of the detainees take minutes to be escorted out the room. [00:34:27] No, they acted very quickly, no, I was very impressed by Secret Service. [00:34:30] I mean, I'm the one, and Mark Wayne, you would agree with that, I think. [00:34:34] I'm the one that would complain. [00:34:37] You don't have to complain for me. [00:34:38] I would be complaining. [00:34:39] I'd be up here right now saying they didn't do their job. [00:34:41] Well, believe me, because you know, it's my life, and I want to live because I want to make this country great. [00:34:47] That's why I want to live. [00:34:49] But when you're impactful, they go after you. [00:34:51] When you're not impactful, they leave you alone. [00:34:53] Okay, a couple of more. [00:34:57] Go ahead, please. [00:34:57] Is there any indication that this? [00:35:00] This shooting could have been linked to the war in Iran? [00:35:05] I don't think so, but you never know. [00:35:08] We're going to know a lot. [00:35:09] We have the best people in the world working on it, and we're going to know a lot, please. [00:35:14] Mr. President, there's a lot. [00:35:17] You, as well as some of us who have covered Butler, experienced another horrific day two years ago. [00:35:23] Yeah. [00:35:25] What felt similar? [00:35:26] You had the First Lady with you today. [00:35:28] What felt different? [00:35:29] And you have. [00:35:30] Another two plus years in office. [00:35:32] Are you concerned about something like this happening? [00:35:34] Well, I can't be concerned. [00:35:36] I can only get great people. [00:35:37] They did the job. [00:35:39] In my opinion, a much better job than Butler. [00:35:41] Butler had one weak spot that we all know about. [00:35:44] Somebody should have been up there. [00:35:45] But even Butler, we had our sniper on our side within 4.2 seconds from a distance of about 400 yards, one shot, and he was gone. [00:36:03] And if he didn't do it now, you know, he's David. [00:36:05] His name was David. [00:36:07] I say hello, David, every time I see him. [00:36:09] David, I like you very much, David. [00:36:11] But think of that. [00:36:13] Now, if he doesn't hit him, and he hit him right between the eyes from 400 yards without any notice, nobody knew. [00:36:20] He heard a sound, he looked over, and there was actually a tree that was somewhat in his way. [00:36:25] You know the story very well. [00:36:27] He aimed, he fired, and if he didn't do that, beyond me, you would have had a lot more people killed. [00:36:33] We lost one great person and two people very badly hurt. [00:36:36] They're okay now. [00:36:38] But no, that was so, in a sense, you know, that was pretty amazing the job they did. [00:36:45] But they did have that one weak spot, as you know, they should have had that covered. [00:36:49] Tonight they had everything covered very quickly. [00:36:52] And he was fast, he was running full blast, and they got him before they got any further. [00:36:57] I was very far away. [00:36:57] You know, he was. [00:36:59] He hadn't anywhere close to breach the doors of the ballroom. [00:37:02] The ballroom was sealed and everybody in there. [00:37:05] That's why once those doors opened, they didn't want to do it tonight. [00:37:09] If the doors weren't opened, we could have probably done it tonight. [00:37:12] But I think we're much better off rescheduling. [00:37:14] Yeah, please. [00:37:14] Mr. President, for you and perhaps law enforcement as well, what is the level of confidence that this was a lone actor? [00:37:23] And has the suspect made any statements to police while in custody? [00:37:26] I think it's just my profession. [00:37:29] We have great professionals up here and outside that have been working with us. [00:37:33] My impression is he was a lone wolf, whack job. [00:37:38] These are crazy people. [00:37:40] These are crazy people. [00:37:42] And they have to be dealt with. [00:37:43] We had that in the second attempt, as you know, and he's spending life in prison. [00:37:50] Because if you let him out, they'll probably, you know, if he serves 10 years or 15 years, you let him out, he'll probably try it again with somebody else. [00:37:57] They're sick people. [00:37:58] We have a lot of sick people. [00:38:00] But you're going to know, I think very shortly, you're going to know, Todd. [00:38:05] A lot about him. [00:38:06] You're going to know a lot about him. [00:38:07] Yeah, a couple of more. [00:38:12] Yeah, please, go ahead. [00:38:13] Are you concerned about political violence? [00:38:16] This could be politically motivated. [00:38:18] No violence. [00:38:18] I'm concerned about everything. [00:38:20] But I can't be so concerned that you can't function. [00:38:24] No, I'm here. [00:38:25] It's a dangerous profession. [00:38:28] You know, I tell the story race car drivers. [00:38:30] I think it's very dangerous. [00:38:32] So you take 1% and then take. [00:38:37] About 10% of 1%, just to break it down very easily, they die. [00:38:42] So much less than 1%. [00:38:44] 10% of 1%. [00:38:46] I think bull riding is very dangerous. [00:38:48] If you take about the same 10% of 1%, much less than 1%, but if you take presidents, it's 5.8%. [00:38:57] And about 8% are shot at. [00:39:02] So, nobody told me this was such a dangerous profession. [00:39:08] If Marco would have told me, maybe I wouldn't have run. [00:39:10] Maybe I would have said, I'll take a pass. [00:39:12] No, it's a dangerous profession, but I don't view it that way. [00:39:15] Look, I'm here to do a job as part of the job. [00:39:19] It is a dangerous profession. [00:39:21] I can't imagine that there's any profession that's more dangerous, but I love the country and I'm very proud. [00:39:27] I'm very proud of the job we've done. [00:39:28] You see what's happened. [00:39:29] We have a great country. [00:39:31] I think the most successful, the hottest country anywhere in the world. [00:39:34] This happened over a period of just a year. [00:39:38] And we're going to do great things. [00:39:39] But with that come risks. [00:39:42] There's no question about it. [00:39:43] Yeah. [00:39:45] I mean, there's been so much political violence, not just aimed at yourself, but at other members of Congress, state house speakers, you name it. [00:39:53] Is that just the cost of doing business to do politics in America anymore? [00:39:56] Yeah. [00:39:57] Well, what does that say about our country? [00:39:59] We're not the only country. [00:40:00] You look at this great violence with all countries. [00:40:03] Talking to somebody from another country today and they have numerous assassinations of political figures all over the world. [00:40:12] You look at South America. [00:40:13] In South America it's like some of the numbers are just horrific. [00:40:18] It's dangerous. [00:40:18] It's dangerous stuff, whether it's here or someplace else. [00:40:22] No country is immune. [00:40:23] No country. [00:40:24] Good question at this point? [00:40:27] Well, probably if I decided to just not do much, you know, if I Let everybody rip us off and take advantage of us. [00:40:36] Look, we're leading the world in trade now. [00:40:38] We're leading the world in the military. [00:40:39] We're the greatest military in the world. [00:40:41] I rebuilt it in my first term, and now we use it because we have no choice. [00:40:45] We can't let, as an example, Iran, we can't let them get a nuclear weapon. [00:40:50] Everything will be peanuts compared to that if they ever were given a nuclear weapon. [00:40:54] And they'd use it, too. [00:40:56] Marco and I were talking about it today. [00:40:58] They would use it without even hesitation. [00:41:00] We can't do that. [00:41:01] It was a shame. [00:41:02] I said, oh, boy, look at the numbers. [00:41:04] We just broke. [00:41:04] 50,000 in the Dow, we just broke 7,000 in the SP. [00:41:08] They said we couldn't do it in seven years, in five years, four years. [00:41:12] They were saying maybe in five or six years. [00:41:15] And we did it in one year. [00:41:17] And I called everybody together. [00:41:19] I called all of these people and others and I said, We have to take a little journey. [00:41:24] I seek to do this. === Breaking 50,000 in One Year (04:22) === [00:41:25] We just had a great number. [00:41:26] We just broke 50,000. [00:41:28] Wasn't supposed to happen during my term, wasn't reachable. [00:41:31] We did it in one year. [00:41:33] And I said, We're going to have to make a journey to Iran. [00:41:36] They're going to have a nuclear weapon if we don't. [00:41:39] We had the B 2 bombers take them out. [00:41:42] I terminated in the first term the Obama agreement, the Iran nuclear agreement, which was a disaster. [00:41:48] That was a road to a nuclear weapon. [00:41:49] They would have used it. [00:41:50] They would have used it 100%. [00:41:52] So, you know, when you do things like that, you become a target. [00:41:55] If I wasn't doing that, I guess I'd be a lot less of a target. [00:41:58] But I'm honored to be. [00:41:59] Okay, one more question. [00:42:00] Go ahead. [00:42:07] Yeah, go ahead. [00:42:09] Thank you, President Trump. [00:42:10] Thank you, President Trump. [00:42:10] Do you know how the gun was brought into the hotel? [00:42:13] And also, how does this event impact you as the leader of our country? [00:42:17] Do you think it will change your life? [00:42:18] I like not to think about it. [00:42:22] I lead a pretty normal life, considering it's a dangerous life. [00:42:27] I think I handle it as well as it can be handled. [00:42:30] I think a lot of other people, you know, you read stories where they become basket cases, to be honest with you. [00:42:34] I'm not a basket case. [00:42:36] I really take it as it is. [00:42:39] I do it for the country. [00:42:40] I'm not doing it for any other reason. [00:42:41] I have a first lady who's doing a terrific job. [00:42:44] She loves the country, and she recognizes it better than anybody. [00:42:49] She's told me numerous times, she said, you are in a dangerous job. [00:42:54] But that goes along with her, too. [00:42:55] I mean, it's dangerous for her, too. [00:42:57] We sat there tonight. [00:42:58] We heard that noise, and it was either a tray or a bullet. [00:43:03] I thought, I was hoping it was a tray, but it wasn't. [00:43:07] And again, we had some very brave people doing a great job, so we're very proud of them and happy with them. [00:43:13] I just want to thank everybody. [00:43:15] They will be able to give you all that information as to the names and everything else. [00:43:21] I think we released the names already. [00:43:23] Most of you would have it, but his name. [00:43:27] We appreciate it. [00:43:28] I see so many tuxedos and beautiful dresses. [00:43:31] It was a little different evening than we thought, but we're going to do it again. [00:43:36] We have a great chairman who we're so proud of, and we have to make it better. [00:43:42] We'll make it safer, I guess, right? [00:43:44] But we're going to make it even better. [00:43:45] Okay? [00:43:45] Thank you very much. [00:43:46] Thank you. [00:43:52] Honey, would you want to say something? [00:43:55] Okay. [00:43:57] Honey in the back. [00:44:09] Honey in the back. [00:44:13] H I don't care how many people you have, how good they are, they can be the greatest people. [00:44:23] You have the greatest security in history. [00:44:26] If you have a whack job who's got a brain, but it's a little bit distorted or a lot distorted, they can make trouble. [00:44:34] I would say, Pete, right? [00:44:35] You know, they can make trouble. [00:44:36] Some of these people are of genius level IQ and they're nuts. [00:44:42] So it can be trouble. [00:44:44] So you do absolutely the best, you get the best. [00:44:47] We have the best people. [00:44:48] Well, look, it was proven tonight. [00:44:51] He started running from 50 yards and he was fast. [00:44:55] He was like a blur on tape. [00:44:58] He was moving. [00:44:58] It was very impressive the way they got him because a lot of people would be looking and saying, you know, it's like a weird feeling. [00:45:08] And they would let him get through, but they didn't let him get through. [00:45:11] They drew those guns so fast, they looked like Matt Dillon. [00:45:16] They looked like somebody that knew what they were doing. [00:45:18] What do I do? [00:45:19] But it comes with the territory. [00:45:22] And if you want to do a great job, I really believe that. [00:45:24] And you take a look at what's happened to some of our greatest presidents, and it doesn't happen to people that don't do anything. [00:45:33] And it's not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran. [00:45:38] I don't know if that had anything to do with it. [00:45:40] I really don't think so, based on what we know. [00:45:43] But we're going to continue to do a great job. [00:45:46] That's all I can do. === Cabinet Confirms Shooter Identity (02:59) === [00:45:48] Thank you very much. [00:45:50] We'll see you tomorrow. [00:45:51] Thank you. [00:45:52] Thank you. [00:45:59] Ladies and gentlemen, there it is. [00:46:01] President Trump and his entire cabinet. [00:46:04] Melania Trump was also there. [00:46:05] You can see Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, all of them leaving the ballroom as now we have confirmation of who, and this is what they were, this is what these animals were saying outside of the event death to all of them. [00:46:30] And now we have effectively confirmation of who the shooter was. [00:46:36] President Trump saying that you will see the confirmation. [00:46:40] And now we got it. [00:46:46] Team, here we go. [00:46:49] You have the security footage right here. [00:46:52] Sorry, let's resize this window. [00:46:56] Sorry about that. [00:46:59] You have the security footage right here. [00:47:02] Of the actual shooting, of the actual shooting, the assassin sprinting through the security checkpoint and getting taken down. [00:47:17] Watch. [00:47:18] Look. [00:47:20] There you go. [00:47:20] This is posted by the president. [00:47:23] Donald Trump posting this. [00:47:27] Yep. [00:47:31] And. [00:47:36] It is being reported that it is a he, him, communist part time teacher from LA, Cole Allen, who has been ID'd by many sources as the actual shooter and a Kamala Harris donor. [00:47:57] You will come as absolutely no surprise. [00:48:02] So, Cole Allen is the name. [00:48:06] This is the images of Cole Allen handcuffed and on the ground, sprinting towards the actual dinner with a firearm as shooters. [00:48:18] That was fast, Jerogan. [00:48:19] That's right. [00:48:22] And I guess in closing here, we just want to say thank you to our law enforcement. [00:48:28] God bless them. [00:48:29] Watch how quickly they respond here as Cole Allen sprints. [00:48:37] At a pretty remarkable speed through the security checkpoint. [00:48:41] Look at this. === Cole Allen Handcuffed Quickly (00:58) === [00:48:47] Pray for our country. [00:48:48] These leftists are violent. [00:48:51] I just know that I am part of the party that doesn't want to kill the other people on the other side. [00:49:00] And it is the people who have stopped debating and who have started shooting that you really need to see as the enemy. [00:49:10] They've killed my friend, Charlie. [00:49:12] They've shot at President Trump multiple times. [00:49:14] Now, five times they've tried to kill President Trump that we know of. [00:49:17] I've had enough. [00:49:20] I've had enough of this. [00:49:22] So I hope you join me in praying for the president, being thankful for this evening, and being smart, and watching your back and keeping your head on a swivel. [00:49:34] I fear that things might get worse before they get better in our current environment. [00:49:39] Pray for President Trump. [00:49:39] Thank you so much for joining us this evening. [00:49:43] This is it for us. [00:49:45] See ya.
