| Well, this meeting today between the president and a group of Democratic governors is designed to try to quell some of their fears about continuing in the White House, much less defeating former President Trump. | ||

| Among them, Representative Lloyd Doggett saying that he wishes he had called on Biden sooner to drop out. | ||

| But I remain hopeful that despite all the The input from his own staff and perhaps from some family members that he'll look at these numbers and realize that this is a hill just too high for him to climb and call on someone else. | ||
| Democratic Congressman Jared Golden of Maine wrote this in an op-ed. | ||
| Biden's poor performance in the debate was not a surprise. | ||
| While I don't plan to vote for him. | ||
| Donald Trump is going to win, and I'm okay with that. | ||
| There are winners and losers in every election. | ||
| And there may be more to come, with Reuters reporting this. | ||
| There are 25 Democratic members of the House of Representatives preparing to call for Biden to step aside if he seems shaky in the incoming days, according to one House Democratic aide. | ||
| Now, there are reports of a big staff meeting at the White House today to help boost morale within the administration. | ||
| And the White House just announced that the president will soon hold a rare news conference, as well as sit down for an even rarer one-on-one interview later this week with ABC News. | ||

| It does go on to clarify that Obama is not calling on his former vice president to drop out of the race. | ||
| And for that, the Biden campaign thanks him, quote, President Biden is grateful for President Obama's unwavering support. | ||
